I'm so fucking frustrated with my ex company CEO, this motherfucker made everyone move to Bangalore costing is employees a good chunk of their salary and this delusional ASSHOLE knew that only half of the expected funding was coming in January 2023 itself and they'd be out of funds by July/August, they let go few folks from the team, fired the entire marketing team and expected to make the product profitable. The only reason I had stayed at that time was because the product was interesting to build and the scale I was working with was crazy like 100k request per minute peaks and avg of 10k rpm. I left the company in August...
This MOTHERFUCKER hasn't paid out final settlement after leaving for most employees and he openly says to the folks who are still working there that paying us is not his priority.
I hope your Atlas cluster gets fucking deleted, accesses revoked and entire AWS setup goes down forever, bitch.
We can't goto courts because the company law tribunal needs atleast 1 crore (1.2 million usd) of unpaid dues to declare it insolvent in a years time..
This asshole deducted taxes from our salaried but didn't pay them to the income tax department for an entire fucking financial year.
What a cheating, delusional, sick bastard. And he's still not willing to sell off the company to pay off the debts and call it a day.
Aarrghhhh on top of losing 2-3k USD I might have to pay my taxes approx 5-6k USD to the govt to keep my records well maintained.
What a grade A delusional asshole 😡
If he won't clear the dues till December, I'm gonna launch a mass of social media posts and destroy his reputation so that he doesn't get one penny of VC funds in the future I'm gonna make sure of that...4 -
Sometime ago in my previous job an IT prick decided to troll developers by blocking access to stack overflow in our offices. It coincided with a settlement case of a few million dollars that our company had to pay because some idiot copied code illegally.
It was one of the most confusing hours of my life : a few hundred developers looking at each other and laughing in the weirdest fashion.
We sure shat some bricks.2 -
as a follow-up to @green-portals zombie apokalypse question.
apokalypse happened, most of humankind faded, the global economy, logistics and infrastructure collapsed, nature however seems to be okay with it. there's no electrical power available (let's say nuclear plants are fine nevertheless)
you're one of the survivors living in the post-apokalypse era, finding yourself in a settlement where technology level has fallen back to medieval times (people lack knowledge AND material supplies). The outside world is dangerous, due to human raiders and extremely violent groupings, as well as environmental hazards. what do you do for a living?
is there a place for a software engineer in this new medieval world?12 -
So, what's your IT trivia?
One of my favourites is sosumi.
When Apple Computers started up they were sent a "cease and desist" notice by Apple Music (The Beatles).
They reached a settlement that Apple Computers would never publish music and Apple Music would never sell computers.
So when the Mac came out and played a tune on startup, the filename was sosumi.
Wikipedia now appears to dispute this, saying that sosumi wasn't the startup sound, but some other sound - any Mac experts care to comment?1 -
So this past few days of a mix bag of emotions. Friday's weekly deliverables on our first dry run at launch, I squeeze across the line in an embarrassing finish. Decision to proceed with the live run to be delayed, not going to happen if I've got something to say about it.
Next day, vendor on the house my wife has purchased (our first!!) and says we can move the settlement date ahead 4 weeks! Winning!
Monday, meeting with all stakeholders on the fuck up that was my deliverables I'm responsible for, granted a conditional pass. "Don't worry, I got this."
Tuesday, received the results of a technical challenge I've given one of the developer candidates - he smashed it. Keen to give him the job! -
So I've bought a new blue key switch mechanical keyboard... And now I want to type on it all the time...
Except, my brain isn't multiprogramming at all and can't focus on other shit when giving a typing test (and not some real code as my end semester exams are going on and I don't want to divert my time anywhere else... But I do waste time... Which is opposite of what I should be doing)
Also, my roommate initially had a bit of problem... But we have now reached a settlement (sorry roommate, but 4x times the price of brown keyboard is what I have on me now... So ig I'm poor. Sorry for disturbance)
So yeah... Good relatively cheap keyboard which I love to type on2
