Newest additions to my 3rd country, high school student, under-budget working....er....station? I'll just call this my "computer bed" from now on.1

The networking closet I had the pleasure of working in most of last night. That's all very loud, very warm air compressors at the bottom, and the switch, firewall, and modem up near the top. And all they had was a small step stool...

An army general is newly stationed in a desert post. On his first day, he calls for a soldier to show him around. While doing this, he notices a camel randomly tied to a tent.
He asks the soldier, “Soldier, why is that camel tied to the tent?”
The soldier looks awkward and answers, “Er, well Sir, as you know there are no women on the base so er, the camel is there for when the men get certain…um…urges”
The general nods in understanding And says, “Well I don’t condone this behaviour, but I suppose I understand”
A few weeks into the post, the general starts feelings these urges himself. He calls for the soldier to bring the camel to his tent. He then goes outside, gets a stool, and has wild animal sex with the camel.
After he’s finished, he climbs confidently off of the stool and sees the soldier staring at him, wide-eyed.
“So” the general says with a grin, “Is that how you boys do it here?”
The soldier answers, still wide-eyed, “No Sir, we usually just ride the camel into the nearby town where the women are”2 -
when a brand (literally any social media) doesnt provide a clear answer to "what are your brands colors?"
then they can go fuck themselfs if they come to me "you are violating the terms of the use of our brand" and i will go trough the effort to mail them a stool sample -
Hey, I want to name a library of mine something like "San'stools" So it's like "the tools from San" but it can also be "San's stools".
I looked up if stools meant what I thought it meant, little seat stuff, but apparently it's also dump...
Would it be too disgusting? Should I use another name?
How often is the word stool used to refer to... you know...?6 -
The particular day
it was in April.
A news to convey
of a new job to cradle.
The first one it was
and well it paid.
One problem existed because
too late I was laid.
And still in school
for two years to come
I'll sit on a stool,
my keyboard to drum.
Good it was on paper
but too young for me,
using C shaper
being on a coding spree.
In two years time
I'll hope for the best,
tired of making the rhyme
I'll let you imagine the rest.1 -
We have about 12 standing desks at the office for people who say they /need/ them.
I only ever see two people standing.
One guy is standing every month for a few days, and sometimes for the whole month.
The other one, where a whole team moved for so he can have his standing desk, has his desk up high every day but is sitting on a high stool in an unergonomic way, slouching forward.
All the other people just don't use it ever.
Plenty of people who want to actually use it don't get the opportunity.6 -
Fuck, the gas spring in my ergo knee stool at home has given up. Now it's in the lowest position, not that ergo anymore, which also tore the rubber gaiter on the spring piston. On top of that, the seat cover is so worn out that I had to duct tape it so that the filling doesn't crumble out too much.
That thing is 20 years old, and the manufacturer discontinued the product years ago. Buy a new one? Noooo. Modern quality would be worse. So I ordered a generic gas spring, let's see whether I can install it, plus a moped fork gaiter. And then hire some professional upholsterer to finally get a luxury leather cover.
That will likely still be cheaper than buying the closest modern product that is even in a similar class.6
