I had a question stuck in my head for a long time: How does it feel to have a dev/geek/techie as your friend?

How did you meet them and what was your experience?

I've never had any dev/geek/techie as my friend (I had one but he has a communication problem so never got to interact properly). Anything I should keep in mind when befriending any techies/devs/geeks?

A tech as well as a life question (actually more of a useless sleepless thought) : What do you think is more important? Exposing yourself to multiple technologies, career paths and life experiences or diving deep into a single technology, career path and life experience?

I feel like being an expert in 1 tech might pay off in terms of job life , and it would be bad for a person who is constantly switching between career paths, but sometimes i feel like i should have tried other paths too. Not just the life of a techie, like people who are deep into media and journalism, accountancy or those film industry jobs ; politics or finances , etc.

Its like, we found an apple to be a tasty fruit and now we have to be the apple guy forever. The better i am in being the apple guy, the more i will have to eat apples and the more i will earn. Why can't i try pears or oranges?

I do not like it but I am forced to ask a tech question because my friend google has no idea how to solve this problem...
So, I have a pdf with a bunch of points with a number inside. I have to produce a list of numbers with X and Y coordinate of the point.
What I have tried: convert pdf to HTML and extract the position of divs / completely failed because a lot of points were distorted, mixed up, contained more numbers, etc, it's just not precise enough after conversion.

As a techie how loves the climate, I feel like I am living two life's. On one hand, I want to protect my earth, but than I make a app, and Evan though I buy offsets, what about all of the users. Why was I born this way, and can the natural and the man-made coexist? That is the question I must ask myself all day. I am looking to drone powered climate research in a effort to prove to my self they benefit each other, but I just can't. I fucking hate my life rn

Last Saturday, I came across a fellow techie at a house party. As soon as he found out I am a developer, the question
"What is your favorite programming language?"
came bursting not even a nano-second after I told him.

Anyone else finds this super cringe?

I believe that people who dig deep trenches in such a topic will be the root cause for the next software crisis. I mean, look at Javascript. In one of my later posts, literally noone could give me a reason to not think Javascript is a dumpster fire. And yet it spread out like a malignant tumor.

To verify not all is lost, I quickly googled any databases written in JS, and luckily just found one archived repo and nothing else. Because Im calling it, once Javascript reaches the database layer, it's terminal.
