When I've started IT school and I've met my schoolmates and teachers... I thought "my skills are probably wasted, it looks like it's not what I need in my life"
That's why I've fallen in depression 2 times in these 3 years
Then I've realized that my schoolmates and teachers needed my skills, that's why they've stopped their life at teaching programming in such a stupid way (they don't even know what "break;" is used for)...2 -
Minecrafters, come here :)
So, as I wrote before, I'm working on a custom minigame network called Silverfern, I've planned the grand opening for the 1st of February, which is my birthday. Now, the minigame base and 1 fast minigame is ready, the only real thing we have to finish is the punish system (ban/mutes) and a quick anticheat. I need to finish them before the grand opening, I hope I'll be fast and code good enough.
I've started working on it 1.5 years ago, I hope we can see on the server on February the 1st!11 -
People sometimes scream to everyone else that tabs are better than spaces, but they don't realize that their IDE most of the times automatically converts tabs in 4 spaces.10

Since I bought my laptop the screen was scaled to 125% (1080p display) so that it looks like a ~768p display.
I like it, it looks good, but now I'm trying it at 100% scaling (15" screen).
Yes, everything looks so small now, and my eyes cried for the first 10 minutes, but I'm starting to like it.
Do you have any similar experience? What do you prefer, 100%, 125% or something else? Why?16 -
My internet speed is now going at something like 0,3 Mbps... I can't open devRant, Google, Everything is so fking slow...3

Finish my biggest project :)
In 2017 the project was counting 60k lines of code (which doesn't look as too many) but I was able to remove some libraries and make my custom system, now the project is counting 10k lines of code :)
My dream is to open in these months -
If I'll ever start a business I have some gold rules for it:
- what you're doing (the difficulty of a project) decides your partial salary, and not the time you're working on it
- if you take a lot of time working on something that should have taken less, you'll be controlled by your supervisor BUT he/she must be gentle and friendly, he/she should be able to understand your problem. If there is something that really could have taken so much time, the partial salary will be higher, otherwise, you'll get a strike
- after some strike you'll be "reviewed", we must understand if you're joking or you really want this work.
- there must be a lot of free time, we don't like stress
- your supervisor (as written before) must be gentle and friendly. If these qualities aren't met we must find a new supervisor (of course there will be a survey)
- you should come to work with a smile, if an activity is too much stressful you should report it, and take a pause (here comes the free time)
- I don't care if you have a degree, what you CAN do is what I'm searching for.16 -
A new JavaScript framework you're saying?
I was working on a dashboard website, and when I was deciding what to use (plain JS, Angular...) I've decided to make my own, lightweight routing framework.
It's on GitHub (https://github.com/Kamebase/Kame)
What do you think about it?6 -
Sometime we forget who we really are.
We aren't dumb guys with no future and it's time to remember this to yourself.
We're losing time in our lives, let's just use it as we think is better to.4 -
I wouldn't mind a "quick project review" on devRant, where you can post your website or some images of your project and get quick reviews (suggestions) of the UI/UX.
What's your opinion on this?4 -
Best: My projects are working, I could get a great salary
Worst: I'm working for a school project and I have no time.2 -
In the wk83 rants I noticed that users mostly upvote posts that say "I have no friends" instead of posts that actually talk about the week subject.
Are you envious or what?7 -
Minecraft server, I was searching for a developer to build custom plugins so I wrote on a forum and he, Adam, replied saying he knew Java and he'd like to work with me.
I've chatted a lot with him, it's a really good friend!
In the same time I've started learning Java so I could help him, we're a team since 2015 :) -
I hate the school, but when I study and I keep my grades high I feel better while coding.
Playing some FPS, anyway, helps me find something quicker in a file.
