I just wasted 4 hours debugging a wordpress plugin because the API was returning only the first element of a list. I posted it on support forums, downloaded the plugin's source code and tried to manually find the cause, and I was about to post an issue on the plugin's github page.

It turns out that I forgot I had '$[0]' in my insomnia json filter.... I should probably look for a different job.

WARNING: There is a dangerous malware out in the wild, and chances are, you have it installed on your computer.

It's called Windows Update, and it is marketed as a software that "delivers security patches to your PC". Wrong. What it actually does is hard-reboot your computer at randomly picked time intervals without asking for your consent, or even showing any type of warning, basically deleting all unsaved progress that you've made in your programs or games. It also deletes/undoes all registry tweaks that you might have made (e.g. to the context menu), it deletes your nvidia display configurations, uninstalls any custom themes that you might have installed, possibly even downloads another malware disguised as "Microsoft Edge" and shoves it in your face on next boot without giving a possibility to close it. Oh and it might also make your computer unbootable so you have to go to the advanced recovery settings to fix it manually.

Yes, everything I just mentioned above happened to me about an hour ago. This LITERALLY classifies the software as a malware (Google: "software that is specifically designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a computer system"). If we throw in all the data collection that happens without your consent, Microsoft actually manages to check not only one, but all three boxes in the "malware" definition.

Pleas, stop using microshit, and switch to linux as soon as possible if you can.

It should be FUCKING ILLEGAL to show intrusive popups on the web AND on the desktop. The fucking moron 'developers' who do this type of crap should be fined in the $M range and then banned from using a fucking computer ever again.

Would it be too difficult to show the update notification on the bottom of the window on the status bar? Maybe with a higher contrast color so it's more noticeable?

Fucking love it when the windows copy/move dialog gets stuck at 100% with 0 items remaining and I can't get rid of the damn window for 20 seconds.

Am I missing something with VMs? Every time I set one up (either linux guest on win10 host or the reverse), what I get is so slow and laggy that I can barely use it. I always give my VMs about 70% of my ram and at least 4 cpu cores, but still, it ends up being as slow as my grandma's 10 year old laptop.

On the other hand, I've seen people on youtube editing fucking videos in their VMs and the performance was so good that you couldn't even tell if its a vm or not.

This happens both on my desktop (8th gen i7, 16GB ram and ssd) and on my laptop (same cpu, 8GB ram, nvme).

Is virtualbox not good enough, are my devices not powerful enough or am I just too stupid?

Finally managed to install Manjaro with working hybrid nvidia drivers on my lapptop! I fucking love this OS already. Now I can start learning linux by actually using it.

The entire fucking internet is an unusable pile of shit. Why is it that every time I click on LITERALLY ANY link on google and I start reading, 2 seconds later the text shifts to an other location because the fucking font loads, 3 seconds later it fucking moves again because a god damn ad just loaded above it, and after all the loading bullshit is done it shoves a fucking cookie banner (that usually covers half the page) and a fucking newsletter popup in my face. This makes it literally impossible to quickly read someting on a website without interruption. It's fucking 2020 and we bout to put a fucking man on mars, yet the technology still isn't advanced enough to make the internet less fucking annoying.

Cache, GPUCache, Local Storage, Cookies, etc...
I see that many different programs have a folder in my appdata with these exact files/file structures in it. Is there some sort of framework that creates these? I'm just curious.

On monday I had to present my 3D graphics assignment to a teacher at uni. I was very nervous at the beginning, but the presentation turned out very well. Does anyone know where I can find a nice tutorial on how to expose a c++ class to the V8 engine? I want to be able to call create objects, call their methods and modify their variables from a js script.

Most results on google are very outdated (5-6 years old) and I want to use a relatively new version of V8.

Also tried v8pp with V8 6.9, but many things don't work as they're shown on the github page.

I want to make a fancy 3D game for an assignment. Would it make sense to separate the game content completely from the engine? The way I imagined it, there would be a game folder with all the content in it (textures, shaders, scenes, scripts etc...) and the engine would "load" this folder, construct the scene and run the game. I was even thinking of using a lightweight scripting language for the game logic, like javascript, so I don't have to make an api and compile DLLs, and the engine (written in c++) would communicate with these scripts.

Is this a good design, or should I just put everything in one project so both the engine and the game logic compile to a single exe?
