I have gained quite a lot of coding confidence recently.

Im quite confident i can deploy a full working application or a mobile app.

I have some inspiration bit i am still not sure of how much work/investment does it take to make something that generates money.

Of course im not including million dollar ideas. No my goal is to make small apps/applications or freelancing jobs off work to generate some extra money (noticeable enough that the investment is worth the return).

Obviously the best way to learn is to dive in and im not asking to know about your golden egg that you are harvesting.

But do you have any tips/advice or experiences to share?

Im curious to know how people organise their workspace on windows.

I learned coding with linux.

I scored my first real job and they use mac. All good.

But at home i game and sometimes i feel like coding/gaming at the same time. But fark i hate the terminal.

I had a pretty good day.

I had my first pay raise as a dev;) not huge but i wasnt expecting one for another 4months ;)

And i was working on a security scrip for after effect plugins. The thing is called Extendscript and is built on top of ecma3. Yeah javascript version from 1999. Hashing stuff gave me different results. Took me about a week to realise that the string buffer were different and i had to parse in latin something to have the same matching buffers. What a hassle man. Let alone trying to make it work with Windows terminal which after starting with Linux then mac， windows seems sooo sucky.

But yeah its my first security scripts so 2 main achievements for me today! Ive waited 4 years to reach a level where i now feel like a real professional dev. ;) sry not a rant ;)

Yesterday a met a self learned dev. He started electronics at 11 years old. He was homeschooled with no obligations at home. So he ended up doing about 10 hours of electronics a day. Until he got bored of it and realized he could integrate his own programes.

So he started coding 10 hours a day. He is really smart. I figured someone like that surely plays video games. So i mentionned path of exile. I love rpgs the new league is starting on friday， im trying to make exiled friends you know...

The guy tellls me he has no clue about the game so i ask him what games he play and thats when i heard: “factorysialimsntnaio” something. I was like “whaaat?”.

Its the type of game where you create your factory. You smelt， combine， make parts like screws and so on and build your factory.

Thats when i realized how some people will always be smarter than me ;)

I feel a bit like shit.

I started a new job about 2 months ago. Company is great， culture is amazing，project is interesting， processes are what i always dreamed.

This is after having learned the job from scratch at a startup that was all you can imagine. Tedious，hoping to be something that was not yet and so on....

So we are coming at the last week of a sprint. Its Tuesday and most stories are competed. We dont have a culture of jumping on others PR， its kind of like this is my PR kind of mentality. This is not established its more like an untold rule. But coming to the end i figured， especially if i knew exactly how to fix the PR that o should jump in a make it happen.

Person who owns those prs unassigned themselves from those and added me instead kind of like: “well take it if you want it....”

What are your rules regarding others prs and sprints?

After working for a startup for 70 hours a week that taught me everything. The place was fun but lacked all the processes. But the boss eas awesome and taught me a shit a loads.

Things started geeting veryvslow so the start up is on lause right now. Anyhow... I ended up finding a job in a really undynamic city where i live where a prettysucesful and growing company just moved to.

Scrum on point， every one is cool， tasks are well established， git processes are freaking awesome and i could go on and on. 2nd week in i thank my old boss for being so precise and annoying on some very specific things because im rocking my first real it job thanks to him.

It feels good ;)

Hey everyone. I wouldn't do this normally but this is actually my first project that has gone live ehich was also the base of my study for becoming front-end dev. Its a front end lib that mixes bootstrap with styled components. But also explains a way to create react components with variables and theming helpers to quickly create components and themes that are sharable.

Yes， i learned html, css and javascript and jumped onto react about 6 month later. Its been 3 years now but the project ready even though it ha some bugs.

Any help testing and criticising would be of great help. We are trying to be reactive for bug correction and improvements.

I was told a few times how Musk was a bit of a super villain. And while yes he kind a fits the batman rule of super villain， the ones i‘d trust less are the quieter ones.

Software engineering is becoming main stream.

It will become the average job in the future. Anyone who cant dev is going to be poor and do the dirtiest jobs.

Dev average income is going to drop， mainly because a shit loads of frameworks and dumbification of software and code creation will be set in place to accomodate large population as devs.

The will create a seperation between the normal idiot dev who will be paid minimum wage and the smart ones that create the frameworks and dumbed down code creating tools.

Its oversimplified obviously because im not taking into account sys admin and so on but in general it will follow that trend. Its like this today but because there isnt enough devs， idiots are still revered and payed big bucks.

Give it 50 to 75 years imo.

The only way to keep a community pure id to have a coomunity votr kick button!!!

My new setup.

The conputer on the left is the new and first comouter i built.

Im looking to invest in an extra screen that tilts vertically and 2 GPUs.

I was given a 1700 nzd budget to make my own computer.

The mouse i threw in with my own money. I went 150nzd above budget and the rest is coming during the week.

Its going to be my first custom computer. And im fucking excited like its christmas back when i was 7 years old!!!

- Geek app， which has 1 to 2 articles every 2 days on random tech， hacking stuff.
- Security app， which aggregates news from various tech sources.

I mostly get my news from apps right now as its an easy go when i am on the loo (like right now ;))

I have a baby. He doesnt like sleeping. He has GERD (reflux).

He rarely sleep more than 2 hours at a time (probably 1 a week).

The best he has ever slept in his 11month of living was 5 hours. That day he was sick and he ended up in hospital.

All good， he is still alive and well.

But he goes down at 7pm and wakes every 2 hours if not less.

Somestimes he is easy to put down and thongs are bearable， but many times it can take up to 30-45 minutes to out him down.

I dev during the day but i am longing to have nights where i can completly concrntrate. But my partner has been survivjng on broken sleep for about a year now.

She lets me have longer stretches but i either stay up late and havr to feed the baby and jiggle him， which breaks concentration and has pbliged me to get an extra desk and screento be put into an uncomfortable place so i could code at home (my orfice is a rent out 10msquare batch in the garden).

Or sometimes i just get up at 3 or 4am so that he can sleep on me 2eme i can jiggle him when he wakes.

I cant deal with being woken every 2 hours. I throw tantrums like im a 7 year old.

Ive rarely had such a sucking life quality as now.
