The number of tabs opened in the browser is directly proportional to the completely of the problem! :p9

My wife is complaining that am spending too much time on devRant. I just told her, am coming here only when windows is updating :p ;)1

A bug is never just a mistake. It represents something bigger. An error of thinking. That makes you who you are.

So went to my bros graduation at CMU. Weather turned out to be really nice unlike forecasted.
And I was even able to meet myself 😀... Sort of7 -
Connect a pen drive, format it successfully. Connect to a new machine to copy data and see the data exists.
Crap! which drive did I formatted :(1 -
Don't feel like a genius high school student anymore :(
23 in math isn't going to get me into the best programming course.
:( Goodbye CMU aspirations8 -
HR:why do you want to join this company?
My friend(trying to be oversmart):why do YOU want to hire me?
Result rejected :D
PS: He has gone to CMU for masters so zero fucks given from his side.1 -
Can anyone tell me what getting a CS degree at CMU is like?
My younger bro is graduating from there but from what he always says, it's just work work work work...
Never told me he did anything interesting or extra curriculars though my impression was CMU is the place where all the cool new stuff happens like Pixar, DARPA, robots, etc.
I went to NYU (useless business degree) and am probably more introverted than him yet compared to him it seems I spent 4 yrs partying... -
Which one of these is your dream university?
Also let me know which one of these is good for pursuing Ms in EE consider CMU and UIUC as well17 -
My internship at CMU ends July 19th I don't want it to end. The projects my mentor gives me may be difficult but they're fun and require me to learn a lot quickly. :(4

My biggest dream is to study at CMU, but I already have master degree and I'm not in US. So the chance is very rare.😖1

Anybody has an opinion on CMU for a machine learning or robotics PhD? You think they'll let me in? (I've heard horror stories from their selection process tbh)
Also, any good Canadian unis and degrees for AI/robotic combo PhDs?7 -
I like to look back at what I considered 'programming' back in high school compared to what I'm doing now as a almost CP college graduate
Still know absolutely nothing. But that's immensely more than what I did as the best student in my high school programming elective and the barely accomplishments i achieved as a high school intern at CMU
I still have a copy of some my old high school 'code' (more like data trash)on a flash drive just for memory's sake -

1) Honestly fuck SML. Who's goddamn idea was it to make a useless fucking programming language that does absolutely nothing relevant unless you're trying to learn recursion. Who's fucking idea was it to not be able to even have side effects. And who gives a shit if you can explicitly declare the type of variables on every single fucking line that's what comments are for if you really need it. All this is aside from the fact that nobody ever has been like "OH UNMUTABLE TYPES? WOW IM SO HAPPY THIS IS SO USEFUL". At this point I feel like SML is basically a DFA - ABSOLUTELY FUCKING USELESS
2) Aside from that, who's idea was it to duplicate two classes. There's 15-122 (Principles of Imperative Computation) and 15-150 (Principles of Functional Programming). So far the ONLY fucking thing different is we learned about work and span in 15-150 - OTHER THAN THAT ITS LIKE TAKING THE EXACT SAME COURSE. BUT AGAIN. So then I have to fucking sit in lecture and pay attention for that tiny bit of information that is new amongst the giant cesspool of information that isn't. BECAUSE I ALREADY LEARNED IT.
Oh and did I mention that both classes are required to graduate as a CS major? Fuck me.
Thanks devRant for helping <3
Edit: We are 4 weeks into the semester so you'd expect we'd have gotten into the new stuff by now right????5 -
