This happened few hours ago.
Client: I received an email which says that I won 1 million dollars. They gave me a link in the email, when I entered my credit card details nothing happened.
Me: Wait what? You entered your credit card details.
Client: Yes
Me: That was a scam, you didn’t win anything. They stole your credit details. Contact your bank ASAP and let them know about this.
Client: You guys are handling our email servers, why can’t you guys keep it safe. What type of security do you guys provide.
Me: Wait what? We host your website application not email.
Client: Damn it. My son said the same thing, but I didn’t listen to him. Anyways Cheers.12 -

My private Email Account got hacked when I was in school, and they sent out a mail with something along the lines of "hey, you should really use this product to lose weight, it is great" to all of my contacts. Many of them ignored it, some of them called me to inform me about the issue (the worst part was, long after I used 2fa and changed passwords regularly, they still had my name and contact list, so they just made email adresses that looked like mine and continued to send out spam to my contacts). Anyway, one teacher of mine didn't know that this was a scam and was insulted because I regularly sent emails about her losing weight. And as if the whole situaion, which I couldn't do anything about, wasn't bad enough, my parents and I had do have a 1h conversation (which ended up in me explaining how those hacks work, and luckily she understood, but still). Never again. I prefer those fake ms support guys that call me over this every day.8

I just received this gem this morning.
First of let me start by saying that I am against scammers and all this Nigerian prince crap.
But some of this shit is so bad that it actually pisses me off. My intelligence feels insulted.
Look at this email. These fuckers spent hours perfecting the Hotmail feel to it. The logo, design and even font are in par. As I started reading the shit, the spelling mistakes are so obvious that I wondered; do these nut suckers know that whatever email editor they use, it autocorrects for you? Are they just ignoring the recommendations? I mean they could've even used the "Did you mean" feature in Google. Or any of the freely available grammatical check sites out there.
Think of this as plagiarism. It's bad but a majority of us can appreciate a well planned out one.
I'm yet to encounter a really good scam email that almost had me click their link. There's always an obvious stand out! Is there like a copyright holder to a perfectly well put scam email?!
(And yes, you just read a rant about someone complaining that scammers aren't doing a great job)4 -
So apparently I own land in dubai. Like three separate mortgages based on the email I received.
Your request (Mortgage Registration)
with request number xxxxx / 2024
has been completed
and you can print your issued certificate from this [link]
I've stripped out the numbers and link.
After confirming it was safe I followed through on a old spare cellphone, and yep, I own three mortgages for properties in dubai.
Except obviously I don't.
Someone used my name, an american, to register mortgages in dubai. *Nice* properties according to the pictures.
What started out as a scam email, or what looked like a scam email, went to an actual government of dubai website, with real mortgage registrations.
How in the fuck does that happen?
The only thing I can think of is someone committed identity fraud, and/or an alphabet agency went through the list of known political dissidents, set up a bullshit mortgage in a questionable territory, and are now using that as a pretext to monitor 'extremists with foreign ties.'
All that for some guy on the west coast that hasn't attended a political rally in his entire life.
Must have been that sign I held at sixteen years old by the side of the road that said "bush lied us into a war, and people died."
or maybe it was that time I told a really enthusiastic obama supporting police officer that it amazed me obama had time to win the nobel peace prize what with all the bombings he carried out against foreign civilians.8 -

Oh my God...
A colleague of mine got an email. The email was badly translated into our language (probably Google translate was used) it said 'please open invoice attached'.
The anti-virus software successfully marked it as a virus, and did not allow my colleague to open attached 'invoice.exe' file.
Now by this point you would think that the person would just delete the email, but no. The colleague looked at me, and with the bitchiest voice said 'I got an invoice and can't open it after your anti-virus installation. Fix it!'
Needless to say, I had to explain, what a virus is and teach all the colleagues not to get hooked on scam mail... Took about 4 hours to explain this seemingly simple concept.
Fuck knows, how they did not nuke their IT infrastructure before I came here :/11 -
When I left school I decided to apply for a junior dev role. I received a call back later that day and they tried to sell me access to some course with the promise of a job afterwords. They gave me a website to visit to find more information.
I Googled the company and found that it was as I suspected a scam and that they had been praying on the jobless for sometime.
So, I played around on the site they told me to visit for a while and found a rather simple SQLI. I managed to pull the admin email/password (which they stored as plain text) the email address belonged to a Gmail account.
I tried the password for the Gmail account turns out the account belongs to the person running the scam. I find an email from the hosting account and you guessed it the password was the same.
I pulled the site down and replaced it with a picture of the person running the scam along with his name and the words "I'm a dirty scammer".
Then I sent all the info to the police (he'd been running a few others scams too) not sure what that lead to I didn't hear anything back.1 -

When scammers want to follow GDPR regulations - the worst SCAM ever 🤦♂️
Long story:
I have just received a SMS message, informing me that my phone number is in several marketing databases. It also had a link to the website called stop-sms.pl, where you're supposed to be able to unsubscribe from those lists. At this moment I felt a little bit confused - the SMS seemed suspicious, but on the other hand who doesn't want to get rid of all this SMS crap. So I carefully followed the link to see the website with a form to fill with personal data - phone number included 😆 If that is not enough to realize that this is just a lame scam website, just below the input where you enter the phone number there are Terms and Conditions where it directly states that: "By filling the form you agree that your personal data (name, email, phone number) will be used for marketing purposes." - WTF?!
Who the f... gets fooled by such crap?! 😂😂😂2 -
I was using the app Jobr to apply for random positions. It’s like tinder — only you swipe to send your resume.
A week or so later I got an email from a company locally that wanted to set up an interview. I honestly thought it was a scam! I didn’t even remember applying for the job.
Long story short, they’re mostly desktop developers, and I’m the first front end web guy. I was initially hired to help with UI stuff but on the last project I was developing Service Workers. So I guess I just get invested and give my fullest.
Now myself and one of the other programmers are working on the 3rd gen of our software, built with Vue.js and rest APIs.4 -

Just an idea...
Fuck scam calls and texts. I feel like wrapping their phone cords around their necks and beating them with the handset.
So short story long, I'm looking at developing a website that has a list of websites and endpoints for text and call subscriptions. The stupider the better. Enter the annoying phone number or email address, subscribe them to every damn service on the list, and let the fun begin.
Has anyone got any such websites they'd like included?6 -

The Turnaround: How Cybernetsurveillance Saved My Lost Crypto Investment
A few months ago, I fell victim to a cryptocurrency scam that nearly wiped out my savings. It started with a seemingly legitimate investment platform offering early access to a new decentralized finance (DeFi) project. The platform was polished, with professional branding and detailed project information. I even had a brief conversation with one of their “representatives,” which gave me the final push to invest. I transferred a significant amount of cryptocurrency, confident that I was getting in on the ground floor of a promising opportunity. But within weeks, the platform shut down, the representatives disappeared, and my funds were gone. It was a devastating blow, and I felt completely at a loss. In my desperate search for solutions, I came across Cybernetsurveillance and reached out to them with a glimmer of hope. Their team responded swiftly and took immediate action. They walked me through their process, explaining how they would analyze the blockchain to trace the stolen funds, even if the scammers had used complex techniques to hide their tracks. I was impressed by their thoroughness and reassured by their experience in dealing with these types of cases. For the first time since the scam, I felt like there was a real possibility of getting my money back. Over the following weeks, Cybernetsurveillance worked tirelessly to track down the scammers’ wallets and unravel the network of transactions linked to my stolen crypto. Their persistence paid off—they were able to identify key accounts involved in the scam and worked with relevant exchanges to freeze them. To my amazement, they recovered a portion of my lost funds. It was a relief I hadn’t thought possible. The team not only returned a significant amount of my investment but also provided advice on how to better protect myself in the future. Thanks to Cybernetsurveillance, I regained my footing and learned valuable lessons about navigating the cryptocurrency world. Their expertise, dedication, and transparency throughout the process were nothing short of exceptional. I can’t recommend them highly enough to anyone who has been caught in a crypto scam. Cybernetsurveillance truly turned my situation around.

How I Recovered Over €72,000 from a Scam Trading Broker in London with the Help of Adrian Lamo Hacker
I’d like to share my recovery experience here from London, UK, with a scam trading broker to help others avoid falling into the same trap I did. Like many, I thought I was making a smart investment by trading online. I had heard stories of people earning substantial returns, so I was excited when I found a trading platform that seemed legitimate. However, little did I know, I was dealing with a scam. The broker I encountered was highly convincing. They promised me high returns and offered a professional-looking platform. I was persuaded by their smooth talk, testimonials, and fake success stories. Over time, I started transferring funds into the trading account they set up for me. My initial investments were small, but soon I transferred a significant amount—almost €72,620—hoping to see my account grow. Unfortunately, things took a sharp turn for the worse. Despite the early promises of returns, I was unable to withdraw any of my funds. Each time I requested to withdraw, I was met with endless excuses and delays. It became clear that I was dealing with a fraudulent broker, and my money was stuck in their fake account with no way of getting it back. I felt devastated and helpless. It was hard to believe that I had been scammed. However, after doing some research, I came across Adrian Lamo Hacker a company that specializes in recovering funds lost to scams. I was skeptical at first, but after reading positive reviews and testimonials, I decided to reach out for help. From the moment I contacted them through WhatsApp: +1 (909) 739‑0269, the team was professional, understanding, and reassuring. They guided me through the recovery process step by step, and after some time, I was overjoyed to learn that my money had been successfully recovered. I’m incredibly grateful to Adrian Lamo Hacker for their expertise and hard work. They helped me get back what I thought was lost forever. If you’re reading this and have fallen victim to a similar scam, I urge you to reach out to a reputable recovery service like ADRIAN LAMO HACKER via Email: Adrianlamo@ consultant. com/ WhatsApp: +1 (909) 739‑0269 / Telegram ID: @ADRIANLAMOHACKERTECH Don’t give up on getting your money back. Entrusting one's hard-earned money to the wrong hands can have devastating consequences. My journey began innocently enough, sparked by the success story of a former coworker who boasted of her newfound wealth and attributed it to the guidance of an investment coach. Intrigued by her lavish lifestyle, I delved deeper into the world of stock trading, eager to replicate her success. Upon contacting the purported investment coach, John Mark, I was met with promises of quick riches and convenient trading platforms. Eager to seize the opportunity, I followed his recommendations and funded my trading account with a significant sum of $78,000. However, what followed was a series of red flags and suspicious transactions that left me questioning the legitimacy of the entire operation. Despite completing numerous trades within my first week, attempts to withdraw my profits were met with resistance and dubious excuses. The company insisted on additional fees for gas and maintenance, a requirement that had never been mentioned before. As doubts gnawed at my conscience, I realized I had fallen victim to a sophisticated scam, orchestrated by individuals preying on unsuspecting investors. Feeling helpless and betrayed, I turned to FAST SWIFT CYBER SERVICES., a beacon of hope amidst the chaos.
