My boss just passed me few tasks that my coworkers fucked up. They have more experience, but they do not follow any code style standards and usually write shitty spaghetti code. I'm pissed off and angry because it's not the first time and I'm tired of fixing things that they ruin. Do you ever had any situations like that? How do I handle this? I'm speaking of two particular persons, not a whole company.

Finally managed coax him out the door and confirmed he’d cleared the doorway before closing and locking it.

Dual-booted Gaming Computer: A Saga of Frustration, Alcoholism*, and Relief

So a while back my gaming computer was booting Antergos Linux and Windows 10. It took me a few months, but I finally became fed up with Windows 10's bullshit of putting ads in the OS (Suggested Apps, OneDrive, etc.) and reinstating all of their defaults after an upgrade (Edge, privacy settings, the People Button in 1709).

So, I backed up my data and installed Windows 7. Windows 7 has a bright, consistent look, and in my opinion still holds up as a good operating system.

However, I couldn't boot into Antergos after that. For whatever reason, no matter how hard I tried, I just wasn't able to. So, I decided to reinstall. Might as well, anyway.

Now, I have an nVidia card, which does not play well with the OSS drivers, so it's basically normal for me to have to unplug my card and use the on-board graphics. So I do that and boot into the LiveUSB, do the install, boot into the desktop, install the nVidia drivers package, shut down.

I reinstall the card, turn the computer on... and nothing. Just a black screen with a flashing underline. I can't even get into a TTY session.

I ended up trying a few other distributions--Gecko Linux, Arch Labs, Manjaro--but all had the same issue. I was about to give up, but decided to try Antergos one more time, but with the newest install media.

And it worked! I was so freaking happy! I can finally play my Linux games again!

Now that everyones gone over to Chromium and only Gecko stands against it, I think it's time for Devrantium to rise up and challenge the duopoly.

The wilde difference in native support between IE , gecko and WebKit is like difference between a real burger and MacDonald's,

They're both burgers but one will make you happy and the other will give diarrhea and a swollen butthole

Something interesting i learned today about the html5 video tag is that even if preload is set it's up to the player the render engine is using to fetch the index of the file first as with mp4 this is usually at the end of the file.

This means that for Blink and Gecko most likely fetch this first themselves. But for webkit it opens in quicktime on mobile devices which you cannot pass parameters to and flat out waits for the entire stream to start playing.

Vivaldi browser seemed a good idea to escape Google's misfeatures without swapping it for Microsoft extensions (Edge) or Firefox / Gecko idiosyncrasies (size / magnification issues on Ubuntu, slow Android version, clunky UI). But there are some ongoing issues that I never experienced in any other user agent (maybe I will when switching to Chromium), like URL completion (port URLs without a protocol aren't prepended with https but trigger a xdg-open dialog, autocomplete prefers obscure deep links with long paths instead of the base URL, browsers seems to forget login passwords by default, etc.) - so Chromium seems like the obvious choice. But there seem to be no more Chromium builds for Android? Anyone else disappointed by Vivaldi has a preferred solution?
