SpaceX just landed their first reused first stage and is in the process of recovering the fairings.
I watched the livestream and cried like a lil bitch.
TODAY HISTORY WAS MADE
I can't wait to talk with my kids about today. And I can't even imagine what we'll be capable of at that time.
It took SpaceX 15 years to pull that off and I can't wait to see more. I can't even think about the amount of engineering and developing involved in this project.
Things like that let me believe in humanity.
HAVE A NICE FUCKING DAY <311 -
I waited until yesterday evening to watch the livestream capture from our creators.
Was expecting something like them being bought by MS or Google or whatever due to how good this awesome network is doing/growing.
As so, i was mentally preparing for a goodbye (the second this data gets into the hands of a data hogging company I'm fucking out (as in, the one who owns the databases)) and then I started watching the livestream.
"aaand here it issssss!!"
"DevDucks!"
😮😅😆😂😊
Well that was one hell of a relief!14 -
Hai devs!
Team devRant here.
Some sad news, my teammate can't participate for reasons I don't need to disclose.
I'm not stopping though, I'm going in alone! (Or well, physically).
I'll post the link to the updates (and more) site later on but the important part:
It starts at 12pm EU/Amsterdam time and stops tomorrow at that same time!
Working on a livestream =)
Cheers!9 -
I'm thinking of livestreaming my friend and I doing game development on Twitch tonight. How many of my fellow ranters would watch?25

The Windows 11 keynote was such a load of bullshit. All the emo yadda yadda. You know, when I work on Windows, what I feel is irritation, anger, and despise for the amateur shitshow that Microsoft delivers.
In particular, but not limited to the fucking update reboots where Windows sits there uselessly and shells fucking prawns in its own ass!
Oh we now have semi-transparent shit. That's progress! It's so great! Only that it's not because already Windows Vista had Aero Glass, and Windows 8 removed it.
But we we have fucking rounded corners now! Crazy shit, some intern at Microsoft discovered border-radius, or did they dig out some fucking Windows XP copy? That also had rounded corners way before Apple even invented them!
To top it off, Microsoft even failed to deliver the livestream seamlessly and recommended watching it at Twitter. Yeah, that's the fucking "Windows experience" as we know it, you clowns!
My favourite BS quote from Nadella himself: "the web itself was born and grew up on Windows." That guy is so full of shit that an unmaintained latrine in rural India would be envious!8 -
Huge dev-team presentation today with YouTube livestream link available to all clients.
Management wanted us to test our laptops, connections and cables to the bone, so that every computer will work 100% while the stream is running.
You know what didn't work?
The goddamn streaming camera device.1 -
On the gitlab incident livestream description on youtube I noticed this:
"No, nobody was fired"
Yeah right. They probably beat him, raped him, burned him, crucified him, raped him again. But no there were no firing involved.9 -
We are tasked with creating a site for a tv channel with livestream and stuff. Nobody has relevant experience so we have to research what's on other channels' sites. So far the industry standard seems to be broken bootstrap, inconsistent style and 2008 design.

I'm doing a short 1 hour livestream on twitch on installing CraftCMS, plugin development and maybe Angular 4 setup, if there is enough time.

If you are sad about not getting into Google I/O, just know that people AT the event also have to livestream sessions because there's no room in the venues.
It sucks. -
That moment when you have to work but actually want to watch a Christmas charity livestream 😔 lucky there were no high priority bugs today, so I watched it on anders off

Very ranty
Very devy
Watch the eclipse! Starting soon

P.S. I heard rumors that devs can control the eclipse by editting eclipse.css in Eclipse6 -
ragedev | devRant Clone
I messed up with the concept of this competition and created a client instead of a clone. It uses devRant api and displays the output with an HTML template.
Here's my GitHub repo link: https://github.com/sidaims93/...
Tech stack I used: Laravel, HTML, CSS, JS, MySQL.
It took me a total of 5 hours.
Nothing special about this lol.
You can also watch a livestream of mine where I worked on it: https://youtube.com/live/...
Watch it and if you like, hit the Like button and Subscribe!

Now that my math posts have failed to garner the anger they formerly did, we here at Wisecrack Studios, like all teams of people completely out of ideas, have come up with a brilliant never-before-tried concept to bring fresh shitposts to your pocket-telescreen this fine year of 2020.
We present to you the DevRant shitposter census!
Yes we pride ourselves in our quality bait and bullshit here at WS. Founded in [previous year a long long time ago], we focus on craftmanship, tradition, and doing it right. Our bait is loved the world over for "it's fresh flavor", "so good, it's like you're abusing heroin right along with the company employees!'
And now, you too get to participate and choose your very own bullshit!
You could say we may have invented a totally new word just to describe it: crowdsourcing!
Isn't it just *brilliant*.
Here is Wisecrack's "Private Select" census, of only the most choice *premium* finely-aged shitpost ideas for this [current year].
Please, please, one vote per customer!
* Moar javascript shitposts (no we won't be doing any more, even WE are tired of js rants).
* Overly pixelated memes (obviously not) blatantly ripped and automatically uploaded via shitty selenium scripts
* Real life hijinxs, trolling shitty companies hiring processes for fun at their expense!
* DevRantCon now with 100% more orgies. Reserve your kickstarter ticket today.
* Disappointing vaporware announcements that take ten minutes to read and build your excitement up only to crush it before your very eyes like a child's first lego build in the hands of an angry nd merciless andre the giant disappointed by the craftmanship of a five year old.
* A livestream of a monkey on an actual typewriter, with a btc betting pool each time an actual word is typed, along with a $5 "shock the monkey" button to spice things up a bit
(our lawyers are informing us this may or may not be illegal in some or all nations. We'll get back to you when sealand responds with our request about their laws on unnecessary animal cruelty. )
* Video conference with devrants creators where we all play "I've never" that doesn't end until at least one person passes out black drunk.
* Weekly comedy write ups with jokes (not obviously) blatantly stolen from cards against humanity
* HipsterRants: why your favorite [thing - game, music, movie, book] sucks, and why I hate you for liking it.
* Did we mention javascript rants?
* Cool new projects by devranters and our merciless breakdown of why each one is pure, unadulterated shit, everything that was done wrong, and why you should personally be ashamed for using it.
* SadRants: cancer, meth abuse, homelessness, how we'll all die at the end, and how the sun will one day turn into a giant ball of fire that will consume the earth and leave no trace that anyone ever existed, and nothing we do will ultimately matter.
* HappyRants: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) oh yeah, you feeling it now mr krabs?
* Technical breakdowns that are completely wrong, utterly incompetent, intentionally misleading, and wildly upvoted by people who are unfamiliar.
Vote for your favorite topic/idea today! or even submit your own for our 'consideration'!
Clickbait, now in technicolor!8 -

Am I the only one who doesn’t like live streaming.. everywhere online seems to want me to watch live streams..
Especially YouTube and Facebook.. I just don’t get it. When I wanna watch something on the web I want to be able to go forward and backwards and skip parts I don’t like...
So what’s the point of it? I genuinely do not understand it.13 -

I did a lightning talk as part of a livestream on Friday!
Public speaking, good at it I am not jajaja

Many of you know twitch, now think of all the problems they have to tackle to serve livestreams to millions of users and sometimes deliver one livestream to tens of thousands of people around the world.
And this company always shows me the same FUCKING AD FOR THE SAME FUCKING AMAZON PRIME SHOW I DONT EVEN WANT TO WATCH. PLEASE LET AMAZON TELL YOU THAT METHOD HAD NO EFFECT AT ALL.5 -
that moment when u read a !shit as not shit but its just a request command to do something on a livestream chat2

Apparently my clock is a Boeing 747-400...
It's actually a clock with a picture of the Sydney Opera House (and yes, I have a livestream of it using 'motion' on ubuntu.)2 -
Is everyone excited about Wednesday US and Thursday in many countries devRant livestream event? I know I am. I am counting the hours 😊 Is everyone attending this devRant global event?2

I was just watching a livestream YouTube video hoping to learn something new but the streamer clearly has no idea what he is doing. He was just looking things up all the time and failing miserable to find anything useful for the program he's trying to build.
Funny thing, the last statement he said was: "I give up, bye!" and that's it!! 1.5 hours of my life wasted for nothing. -
"Do I ever get tired of winning? No, why would I ever get tired of winning?
What kind of silly question is that, why would I ever get tired of winning?"
- Hikaru Nakamura on Livestream3 -
Next big game announcement of today:
Fallout 76

After a 24h Livestream where basically nothing happened. Curse you, master trolls of Bethesda.
(I should probably stop doing this shit before E3)3 -
So, I browse to a video livestream and an annoying ad starts before the livestream is shown. Furthermore, the page jumps around because of a cookie notification that also blocks some UI elements at the top.
Note: this is the website of a public (government-paid) national news website with very high standards and a good reputation.
Action 1: refresh page; I hope the ad is skipped. Nope, annoying ad restarts. Page jumps around again because of the cookie notification.
Action 2: accept cookies to remove notification blocking the top UI (it's OK, I know it can't actually save any cookies on my machine). Instead of some nice JS doing it for me in the background, the page refreshes because you know, HTTP requests and whatnot.
Annoying ad restarts again... FML 🤬
Lessons to be learned from this for any web dev: these annoyances can and *will* exponentially get worse if used simultaneously against your users, instead of being used to help or inform your users.
As a user of you website, I want to watch a livestream. I don't care what stupid legislation forced you to shove a fucking cookie notification in my face. Make sure it is not annoying me to the point that I close you website and take minutes to rant about it!
Also, give me the freedom of choice to watch an ad or not. You and I both know that some ads simply are not for me. Better save yourself and myself the bandwidth.
And go get good at web development. You're a news site. That's more than just text and images. If you want great apps, social media coverage, videos, live streams, blogs, etc. go get some better web devs. Your current web frontend devs only qualify to get fired.1 -
Microsoft: literally one of the most profitable and technologically advanced corporations of all time
Also Microsoft: can’t handle a fucking livestream -
Do you guys know of any online course that teaches data structures, algorithms and other competitive stuff, but which is like, semi-online :
- the course would run for ,say 3 months
- the instructor would add videos/livestream on a specific day/days and give the assignment questions/tests
- assignment questions/tests are expected to be completed before the next video, where these questions , along with new concepts are discussed?
I hate those udacity/udemy courses where you have a large playlist of videos open up as you pay. It makes me loose half of my motivation since i know i can watch them later and end up watching them never. Plus there is no competition to motivate
I want this as my job does not allows me to stay sharp in competitive programming and it would be nice to remain in touch with that( without being too much stressed about it).2 -
When you realize after an hour of waiting that the script was running on only one of eight cores... but I did get that hour off to read livestream from Apple Event....

Hi all. Can anyone recommend me a good MacBook Pro model that’s suitable for live streaming and video editing?
I’m mostly will be doing live coding, some Youtube videos, and blogging. I really love the 2015 retina model but my friend said to get newer specs. What you guys think?4 -

Does anybody here knows how do you make an application which will stream live videos/audio? For example: Skype, WhatsApp etc.
What technology do they use? May be some link in the comment will help me..6 -
I'm trying to integrate the youtube livestream api into my project...
