Dear Programming Languages,
if you only support weakly typed constructs, I wish you a special place in hell.
Dear Fellow Developers,
if you use a language that allows strong typing with weak typing, the next time we will meet after I have to fix a shitty bug due to that I will play piano on your teeth, and a melody you won't like.
And yes, that means PHP as well. PHP allows for strict types since php7.
So. Just. Fucking. Use. It.
There are no excuses!
I don't care if you don't see the benefit or find it "annoying" and tedious to write it out. Use a decent editor and it will be mostly code-completion anyway.
I just don't want to fix your fuckups. And if your fuckup is due to a typing issue that "slipped" by, you are part of the problem.
If you write software, it should be clear what type each and every variable or object has.
There are no excuses but your laziness.
If you want to be ambiguous, try poetry.23 -
Mobile phones are from hell >:[ Well, at least my gf's Samsung is from hell. It makes noise for anything. If someone calls, play a stupid melody. If there is a text, play a stupid melody. If its battery needs to be charged, play a stupid melody. If its battery is fully charged, play a stupid melody. Even if it's in the middle of the night and people just maybe would like to get a few minutes of sleep! What's next? Play a stupid melody when the stupid Samsung Android piece of junk wants its diaper changed? Or when it's bored? Or just needs attention? Or when it realises that the word "smart" in smart phones actually means stupid? SHUT UP!!! We don't need a tamagotchi, we already have two kids and two cats to fullfill our tamagotchying needs! Technology is supposed to make life easier, not worse FFS! No wonder so many people get stressed out these days! And you, pathetic people at Samsung, or whoever that come up with these "smart" features that deprave decent people of their sleep, now it's your turn to be woken up! WAKE UP IDIOTS! Get outside your small mobile-bound shitholes of confined fart-filled bubbles! Learn about REAL LIFE, get yourselves nagging gfs, screaming kids and a PUNCH IN YOUR FACES! Maybe that will teach you to manufacture phones that SHUT THE FUCK UP during sleeping hours!32

Do you guys have the concept of caller tune in your country?
It's like when someone calls you, they hear a fancy melody (selected by you) instead of tring tring..
What a stupid concept. I pay for that shit and someone else who calls me gets to hear the good music whereas when I call someone, I hear the stupid tring tring or some music that I don't want to hear.
Shouldn't it be like, I pick some tune and whenever I call anyone, I should be able to hear it instead of tring tring because I am paying for it and I love to hear good music?
I am sure the creature who invented the concept was a Raccoon on some cheap acid.15 -
(sing this in the "If I were a boy" melody from Beyoncé)
If I had a job,
I think I'd want to support,
this awesome platform we call devRant,
but right now sadly just can't...
[oooh]
If I had a job (again),
I think I would buy CodePeeen (amen),
by buy I mean I would buy plan pro,
but I ain't got no fixed income, no
[I ain't]
If I had no school,
I'd be game dev or web noob,
I would design like in the 90ies,
pink website showing panties, oh yes...
[that'd be cool!]
If I were adult,
I wouldn't laugh at these jokes,
I would know the hard and real life,
and maybe even have a loved wife...

At our workplace we clean our offices ourselves, and I don't have a problem with that. My boss asked me to clean the very dusty server room because I'm the only girl in the IT department. I feel somewhat discriminated as a woman in tech. Would it be wrong for me to refuse.25

It always happen
I always think of great game song melodies, and every single day, when i just hum aloud, there is definitely 1 good one. Many times i have a recorder or my phone, but sometimes, i dont which makes me hum all the way to my cell phoneand when it try to record it, i forget the melody making me so frustrated.... -
How to Stop #war in #ukraine and #russia? Easy. Just burn a big bush of #cannabis / #weed to the atmosphere, you will see both sides are high AF.
Maybe they both will get high instead of war.
I am John Melody, I want to represent you.1 -
Most definitely not dev related..
Guitar tabs that contain arrangements for +5 guitars on a band with just a rythm and lead guitar are fucking annoying.
Fucking hate having to piece the fucking melody by myself. And yes. I DON'T neeed the fucking tabs since I can figure the song by ear, its just that doing it like that takes way too much fucking time.
Getting fucking bored of playing the guitar tho. Been doing it since I was very young and never really liked it. Always wanted violin and then bass.
Have been looking at a nice fender precision bass. Made in Mexico so not really expensive, sounds equally as good and is going for a good $650 bucks plus the amp.
No lie, i am way too interested on getting me that bass already. Have been learning Roundabout by Yes(because I am a progressive rock fan AND a Jojo fan) and practicing with a friends bass whenever I get the chance.
If you already play guitar and you are good with guitar then picking up the bass takes some adjustment, but it's still not as heavy as going at it with no musical training.
Man I just want a bass so bad. I am just so cheap at spending money.13 -
♫ It's high time we reviewed our design, ♫
♫ The code behind our system is just too byzantine, ♫
♫ We'll rewrite all the legacy and take it off line, ♫1 -
In the dynamic realm of software development, where the user interface meets the complex machinery behind the scenes, Back-End Expertise https://sombrainc.com/expertise/... emerges as the unsung hero. As businesses increasingly rely on digital platforms to connect, engage, and transact with their audience, the prowess of back-end development becomes paramount.
At its core, Back-End Expertise refers to the specialized knowledge and skills required to architect, build, and maintain the server-side of applications. While the front end dazzles users with intuitive interfaces and captivating designs, the back end silently weaves the intricate tapestry that ensures seamless functionality, robust security, and optimal performance.
The Back-End Symphony: Orchestrating Digital Harmony
Imagine a symphony where each instrument plays its part to perfection, creating a harmonious melody. Similarly, in the world of software, the back end orchestrates a symphony of databases, servers, and frameworks, ensuring that data flows smoothly, operations execute seamlessly, and applications respond promptly to user commands.
Back-End Experts are the virtuosos who write the code that makes applications tick. They delve into the intricacies of databases, crafting queries that retrieve and store data efficiently. They architect server-side logic, meticulously designing algorithms that power functionalities ranging from user authentication to complex business processes.
Security as the Forte: Safeguarding the Digital Fortress
In an era where data breaches loom as potential threats, Back-End Expertise becomes a formidable fortress. These experts implement robust security measures, safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring the integrity of digital ecosystems. Encryption, authentication protocols, and secure API integrations are the tools of their trade as they create digital bastions against cyber threats.
Optimizing Performance: The Need for Speed
User experience hinges on speed, and Back-End Experts understand the importance of optimizing performance. Through efficient coding practices, load balancing, and server-side optimizations, they strive to minimize latency and ensure that applications respond swiftly, even under heavy user loads.
Future Trends: Back-End Evolution
As technology evolves, so does the landscape of back-end development. Cloud computing, serverless architectures, and microservices are shaping the future of back-end expertise. Back-End Experts must adapt to these trends, embracing new tools and methodologies to stay at the forefront of innovation.
In conclusion, Back-End Expertise is the backbone of digital experiences. While users interact with the front end, the magic unfolds behind the scenes, where Back-End Experts craft the architecture that defines the reliability, security, and performance of applications. Their alchemy transforms lines of code into seamless digital experiences, leaving an indelible mark on the ever-evolving landscape of software development.1
