Finished an MVP of my garage-opener-thingamajig!

Basically I decided I wanted to control my garage from my app. Retail solutions are expensive af. As a dev, the choice was easy!

RPI3
HC-SR04 sensor
DHT temperature sensor
5v Relay
Nativescript + Angular
Firebase

Result: i can open my garage anywhere, safely (sorta?) via firebase, and get push notifs when it gets opened (from hcsr04), which triggers the pi camera, while also getting live temp feeds (this one is kinda for the giggles and utterly pointless but NUMBERZ!)

Anyway - fun side project! First version of my app looks like this. Its very rough, and I have a couple more details I wanna display, but for a first time app I'm happy!

Create-react-native-app is fucked up.
React-native init works but when i install react-navigation, it removes react-native, then I install react-native again and it removes react-navigation.

I'm done with react-native, moving to NativeScript.

For college I'm doing a small research project. The goal of my research is give advice to web developers on using JavaScript frameworks to create mobile applications and help them decide which framework to use by comparing 3 popular frameworks. I decided to compare React Native, Ionic and NativeScript. I myself have only used React Native to build a mobile application. I would like to get some opinions from other developers on this matter. I want to compare the frameworks based on the following categories: developing time, performance, debugging an learning curve. Are there developers here who would be willing to write their experience with these frameworks? Or maybe some of you know a forum or other place where I can ask for some help:)

So, I'm starting cross platform mobile app development with NativeScript. Just side projects at the moment, nothing "business-related".

Well, as for the Android part, I'm free to choose whether I'd like to develop on Windows 10- or on my Linux machine. I can compile the project on either system. As for publishing it to Google Play, I might do it, I might not do it, since it is possible to install an app by providing the apk file.

As for the Apple part: I'd either have to buy an completely overpriced Apple computer (iMac, MacBook, etc.) or subscribe to a pricey online CI/CD service... just to be able to compile the fucking project. And if that wouldn't be enough, Apple wants to charge me 99 $ a year so I may have a chance to publish the app to their App Store... of course without any guarantees that my app will be published, because it might be revoked by them. WHAT THE FUCK?

Imposter syndrome.
A question guys, I'm a web dev since 2012, started with php, then shifted to frontend, for 3 years my main was PHP and basic HTML CSS, in 2017 I shifted to / did courses on vuejs, angular and react (loved angular the most) also laravel. Have also dabbled a bit in python, for crawling and mining. The problem is I've never worked with a team or for a full fledged Dev company, so I'm unsure as to how to judge my growth and whether I'm moving in the right direction. I feel like I need a lot better understanding of Linux usage and server control, or should I learn nativescript etc.

What do you suggest? Should I simply look for a mentorship program, if yes any clue where?

I have created a simple restaurant app using phonegap and knockoutjs but I didn't like the performance. Can you recommend how should I get into android development? Nativescript and ionic also lack performance as far as I have researched. Any help is appreciated.

Has anyone experience with NativeScript with or without Angular? I‘m currently planning for a new project and I want it to run on multiple devices. Especially I want it to run native on iOS and Android and (maybe with Electron) on desktop.
Currently I have only experience with Angular in the Web and inside Electron.

I was playing with NativeScript, it looks cool as fuck, writing typescript and angular + native ui elements that you can style with css. This is underrated.

Has anyone ever worked with a NativeScript Angular project? If so, how do you feel that they compare to regular Angular2+ webapps or to Ionic2+ mobile apps from a code writing and ease perspective? I just started working with Ionic2+ and they blew me away with the ease of code and how quickly you can get things running and how well and native they do look and act, however the user experience can't compete with that of Xamarin or ReactNative apps. I've also worked with just Angular2+ as well for particular apps and I can't say it's a bad experience because frankly it's one of the best pure web tools I've ever worked with.

Anybody used nativescript for mobile app development? Is it worth looking into or are there better alternatives for that?
