My girlfriend always takes pics of me coding saying it looks beautiful lol... I once told her that code is like a beautiful woman who is sick and you're the doctor and can't figure out what's wrong and occasionally ask your rubber duck for help...

A client wanted "a video on a server".

I took a server, put it on the ground, stood on it carefully and took 'a video on a server' 😊

I was so tempted to just send it 😆

I told my girlfriend about Devrant. Now she's hooked onto it and doesn't pay attention to me. And now I'm ranting about it on Devrant. Oh the irony! T_T

I'm not a designer but...

I imagine two dev colleagues sitting next to each other, on their phone, each feeling very secure in the anonymity of devrant.

guess what - it’s my anniversary of first joining devRant. I joined exactly 0x16d days ago, and it’s been great.

ive learnt so much, made more stuff, and y’all are great.

id like to follow up on my resolutions from last year ( https://devrant.com/rants/364344/... ), and im proud to say i did everything except the 3d game (i was looking opengl and got distracted by opencl).

when i first saw devRant, i was on a plane, coming home. i saw a news article and decided to check it out, and when i joined i quickly realized i was the second youngest on the platform. one year, 316 rants, 2181 comments, and a score of 18594++ later, here i am.

thanks for this wonderful platform!

Resurrect happypenguin.org

This particular site appeared in the year 1998 with the goal to make gaming on Linux easier and more fun.
Unfortunately, 2013 the site went down due to lack of funding and time for the creator Bob Zimbinski. He released the database to the public but removed the code itself because it was created in the 90's and was a big security risk.

I want to resurrect happypenguin.org and I want some brave souls who want to participate with this. I am not a coder (I can only sysadmin) so It would be awesome if someone wanted to help out with this.

Would be awesome if you could make if look like the classic site, or make it very similar to it or https://distrowatch.com/ that also has a very retro style to it. It would also be great if the site was ad-free.

I will take care of the hosting part (servers, DNS, domain).
