Is this the age where we have to make everything ourselves if we don't want to store our information on the internet?11 -
As Karl Lagerfeld once said: "Visual Studio Code is a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you use Visual Studio Code."21

Docker is a scam.
Git is garbage.
The cloud is a scam.
I hate it all now.
Maybe I should try roofing.41 -
Whoever came up with the idea of styled components and other idiotic css-in-js bullshit because they couldn't be arsed to understand fucking cascade deserved all the bullying they got in the highschool. And all those idiots who adopted it because they couldn't be arsed to understand fucking cascade should get waterboarded.1

These influencers man.. I just can't.
Today I was watching a video on how the education industry is a total scam. The video was quite nice, pointing to issues like, school doesn't sell us knowledge, instead it sells us Hopes And Dreams, and other things.
But at the end, the guy goes "By the way guys check out the link in description to get 15% off on this course that teaches you coding and principles of software engineering."
Sneaky Bastards.11 -
Saw someone who wants to do a project online, asked what project it is, now hear me out:
A platform to share tech gossips, use web3 and tokenization to maintain privacy, and allow users to bet on the gossip using tokens
I mean… fuck me…3 -

You ever spend a few weeks on a problem. Make little headway on it then get distracted and forget about it for 2 months only to comeback and fix/finish the entire thing in a handful of hours.
That was me today. Could not get something to work back in March. Didn't touch it till today. And just magically I knew what I was doing wrong before6 -
Google announced a little piece of wizardry called MusicML, which seems to be a pretty decent music generator based on text prompts or sample imputs
I can only think how much would this thing help indie game developers (if available), but then there are a lot more industry (beside music itself) that could save lots of money with this kind of stuff
I mean, yeah, the results are not so great or ground breaking, but so would be most of the human generated compositions as well; if the music is not the main focus, most of the results are just enough. Just think about an elevator with a custom generated track for day, or so many other places where sound it's just a side stimulus

Why is every innovation trying to go towards "replacing programmers"? like, what have we done to you?
GitHub CoPilot will replace programmers!
AI will replace programmers!
This/That tech will replace programmers!
Nobody says,
"Programmers work remote so we don't need to hire managers anymore!"
"Programmers wrote a monitoring script for progress tracking, so no need for managers anymore!"
"We are asking people to install sprinklers everywhere so we don't need firefighters!"
"We can just have one teacher record the subject material once and re-use the same video every year, so now we don't need to hire teachers anymore!"
"We are making everything legal so we don't need to hire policemen!".
Why is everything trying to replace programmers?8 -
Goal for my dev career future?
I'll soon be 53, my career goal is to make it to retirement without fired for some random biz-talk excuse for being too old.11
