Is it just me or does a rant open twice if you double tap one you already ++'ed it🤔😅

I finally have a storyline for my game and it's pretty interesting..
Now I dont know what software to code the game in :c

Developing is great, but sometimes it’s nice to go outdoors.

Just applied to a new job with this as my cover letter.

Debugging problems

Thus far I've had little success trying to teach code to people I know.

But yesterday.....man

My best friend told me that he was serious about learning. He asked me about my recommendation would be. Against all odds, and after small demonstrations he asked to learn about Java.

I made some coffee and braced myself. Either the dude is a hidden genius or I am an amazing instructor, but he got the whole thing. I introduced him to the basics, oop, variables etc and he got it down in one session. He was able to understand errthing a do a little code along.

So proud.

I'm sure some here can relate.

I finally slept through the night. I have so many reports to do, and so many follow ups, but I got more than 3 hours of sleep.

After ten months of unemployment, got a call from someone who had taken a class I had taught, and he asked if I was available for a position. I said yes, and got the job without an interview on a one year contract. Three months in, I got an offer to convert to permanent. I've been there 14 years now.

Accountant: Can we just get one big Excel file with all the transactions instead of separate reports that are filled out specifically for each dorm?

Me: Hell yes you can.

When you're thinking about your code when doing math homework, but then realize you're accidentally putting semicolons after each step.

My mom is trying to convince me that being good at Latin is more important than knowing how to program / spending time learning it.

*client calls*
Me: Hello?
Client: Hi, I have some questions about the project.
Me: Alright, what are they?
Client: I don't quite remember what my questions are.

What? Then why did you call me?

Sales guys

When you start a new project with 2 more developers. You see their CVs and they look experienced.

(Fast forward one month....)

You realize you are the most experienced one and they are waiting for you to guide and mentor them.
The worst of all I thought I was going to learn from them because I still am not ready to mentor other people.

Aaaaaand now I am panicked.

I miss the time where I used to sit in my corner, do the tasks that was given to me and that's all. Now I have to code, build documentation, assign tasks, etc. I am not ready for this. I never asked for this. I just wanted to be a developer. :( :P
