So today this Mother F**ker get HR to back him up to accuse me of not communicating well in the team because I consistently asked him (the code owner) why he kept coding not following the coding guideline.
How is it not communicating? He literally ghosted me and blocked me every time I ask him questions. Which I somewhat don't understand what he is trying to do. HR lady told me that a senior software engineer should have the knowledge to understand everything and all the code.
But the code looks like this :41 -
CSS is magic.
CSS is a katana blade.
CSS is a tiny bristle scratching Gorilla Glass Victus. It shouldn't exist, yet it does.
CSS is a plastic-based sticker that you peel off, and it leaves no residue behind.
CSS is a summer breeze of 2004 that you felt while riding longboards with your girlfriend.
CSS is plugging a '86 Les Paul into a Marshall JCM800 and switching to a dirty channel.
CSS is diving into a freshly made bed after an evening shower.
CSS is getting your winter coat and finding a hundred dollar bill in the pocket.
CSS is the front right burner.
CSS is stomping onto a Big Muff pedal before you do solo.
CSS is David Gilmour inviting you for lunch.
CSS is cracking open a cold bottle of Perrier.
CSS is falling asleep in the attic hugging your loved one and watching the stars.
CSS is a glass of just below the room temperature cold pressed orange juice after you run 5k.
CSS is stepping on a scale and seeing yet another pound of body weight gone.
CSS is a supportive, beautiful person saying they love you just after you escaped an abusive relationship.
CSS is putting on your cold white gold Rolex in the Friday afternoon before meeting with friends at the bar.
CSS is discovering your old Sansa Clip+ and booting RockBox.
CSS is giving cunnilingus to Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
CSS is finally feeling empathy to another person after two years of therapy and realizing you're alive.
CSS saying "unleaded" after you pull up to the gas station in your vintage 911.
CSS is your ex-boss apologizing to you after they hit the rock bottom.
CSS is smelling her hair in the back seat of a Maybach taxi.
CSS is giving presents to your grandparents.
CSS is hitting bong while watching Home Alone with your friends after New Year's Eve.
CSS is getting a new job that pays 3x your old one and removing your old job's Jira bookmark from a bookmarks bar.5 -
Prediction:
Windows 11 will be forced on Windows 10 users through similar tactics as Windows 10 was forced on users.
I started looking at how to prevent this. The wording from some tech support people seemed to indicate this.
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...
The response seems like, "oh yeah, some will be forced, like home users."
Don't trust these MS assholes at all.
I am thinking of getting a third drive and installing SteamOS. See if it is "really" an option for some games.27 -
Well, I did it.
I spent 45 minutes writing my first hacky, shell-and-python automation script to save me 15 seconds every morning.12 -
There is a new phishing site going around called "rogstrike.com" that is being spread by Steam DMs.
Infected asks victim to "vote for their team" and in order to do that, you need to login with steam. The steam login part is sketchy af, litterally spawns a fake new window in the same tab. Doesn't matter what OS you use, it's always Win 10 styled. Lol.
I reported on twitter and via email, i'll see what they will do.4 -
How the hell does wikihow manage to eat all my ram to the point where nothing but a hard reset will get my pc working again?!5
-
I recently upgraded my gaming PC. It was a pre-built MSI Trident-X, which I bought three years ago because it had standard parts. It made it easy to move to an ultra slim SFF case with a new video card.

Manager: Does anybody having any money saving ideas?
Dev: By switching our supplier from X to Y we could save $10,000/year and they have much better customer service.
Manager: So? I’m looking more for savings opportunities in the +$100k range. That’s a small idea, I’m looking for *BIG* ideas.
Dev: Do you have any big ideas?
Manager: No, but I really really want to save big money like that. I thought you would have something worthwhile.
Dev: $10,000 still a lot of money
Manager: I guess…. Ok we can do it. But don’t bother me with peanuts like this again.
Dev: ??? You asked me buddy15 -
Right, so either Intels CPUID manual is fucking stupid or my qemu CPU has brain cancer in it's fucking silicon head.
x80000004 contains not ascii stuff but x8000003 and x80000002 fucking do.
I'm stranded with two thirds of a CPU brand string.

you have an intern working in your company, who came in for 3-4 months internship in September, with a notice in advance that he will take 1 month or more of leaves for exams in Nov-dec.
He reminds you in the beginning of October that he would be going on off due to a lot of college stuff happening on alternate days , starting November.
You and he come up to an agreement that its best to free him from his role in october end and he may join gain when he is done with his college work and could come back fulltime
He works full time in September-October with dedication, leaves with complete reports and submitting his code in November.
NOW DO YOU HAVE A FUCKING RIGHT TO HALT MY SALARY FROM OCTOBER?
YOUR FUCKING HRs HAVE BEEN IGNORING HALF OF MY CALLS AND GIVING LAME EXCUSES IN OTHER HALF.
I WAS NOT A FULL TIME EMPLOYEE YOU ASSHOLES, AND YET I FOLLOWED ALL YOUR STUPID RULES REGARDING NOTICE PERIOD AND STUFF! GIMME MY MONEY :/5 -

Yeah.. it's a shame C# doesn't have a type to hold this (4) and then you have to resort to using var.. I am so disappointed, I've heard C# is crap, but this.. THIS!! It doesn't even have a type for normal integers!! FFS!!! I thought it was better than this!!
Oh, wait.. it's not C# who is 'weird'!! It's my super duper cool ex coworker who made a mess of the simple code again... I admit, this is not such a huge deal.. BUT... It doesn't end here.. o.O39 -
For fucks sake we enforce monolithic design these days (even putting 5 different languages in one component-file) but not a single fucking tutorial, idea, design hint or article about how to put the fucken backend in that project, too.
The data structures used by front- and backend will be the same, do I really need to setup another oversized webpack buildchain, containing 90% the same sources to have my backend development in a different repo?
what the fuck.1 -
the latest recruitard.
so having been unemployed for 14 months, this recruiter shit is infuriating. i think they are the reason for my unemployment.
i just spoke to the biggest idiot ever, she worked for a temp agency called manpower, attempted to solicit a job for the u of a. she was "new and getting used to the technologies in the market" that was her excuse for asking me if java and js were different languages, i mean if you cant understand simple stuff like this, gtfo the industry all you are doing is hurting hard working ppl like me. i cant even get adaquate representation because there is no qualified ppl in charge of delivering me to hiring managers, and you can forget about presenting yourself c level execs dont talk to us plebs we are here for one thing to make them money and get screwed, the last 6 out of 10 jobs i have actually gotten all left me with debit they owed and dissappeared into oblivion.2 -
CEO: I've got a great idea to entice users, we increase our prices 20% and give 20% discount.
Oh god, please tell me you're not serious.15 -
Last year I built the platform 'Tindex'. It was an index of Tinder profiles so people could search by name, gender and age.
We scraped the Tinder profiles through a Tinder API which was discontinued not long ago, but weird enough it was still intact and one of my friends who was also working on it found out how to get api keys (somewhere in network tab at Tinder Online).
Except name, gender and age we also got 3 distances so we could calculate each users' location, then save the location each 15 minutes and put the coordinates on a map so users of Tindex could easily see the current location of a specific Tinder user.
Fun note: we also got the Spotify data of each Tinder user, so we could actually know on which time and which location a user listened to a specific Spotify track.
Later on we started building it out: A chatbot which connected to Tinder so Tindex users could automatically send a pick up line to their new matches (Was kinda buggy, sometimes it sent 3 pick up lines at ones).
Right when we started building a revenue model we stopped the entire project because a friend of ours had found out that we basically violated almost all terms.
Was a great project, learned a lot from it and actually had me thinking twice or more about online dating platforms.
Below an image of the user overview design I prototyped. The data is mock-data.51 -
Bank forces me to change my password. Figured I'd use Safari's strong password generation. Submit. Password changed.
Go to log in with new password. Password not saved because I had previously told Safari not to save this site's password.
Okay… so the strong password you JUST generated and submitted without showing me is now my banking password but neither of us knows what it is?
Fucking brilliant. I mean at least let me fucking copy it so I can store it in my password manager. The most hilarious thing is the message that appeared on the generated password saying my password would be available from Safari preferences. Yup, nope. Nothing there except a note saying no passwords will be stored for this site.
This is the state of Apple in 2018, folks. Fucking sad.16 -
Sometime in the near future…
"Hey Joe, how's the new robot working out?"
"Oh it's great, except that we have no more shampoo in the house."
"…"
"Yeah, apparently it got its hands on a bottle and infinite-looped on Lather, Rinse, Repeat." -
I just got a necromancer badge for an answer to my own question on SO.
Still trying to figure out how I should take this.
