I spent an entire week debugging my JS Gameboy emulator an year ago.
(The "C" register was read-only for some reason)
Turns out I typed "с" (cyrillic) instead of "c".4 -
Sometimes I don't want my co-workers to see the notes I write on a meeting, for several reasons: Maybe they might have bad intentions (yes, I'm a little bit paranoid), or sometimes I wrote stupid stuff just to concentrate or remember things faster, or I want to practice my cyrillic alphabet.
What do you think? how do you take "secret" notes on a meeting? Any slav in here that could tell me if he/she understands my calligraphy? XD24 -
Yesterday a strange bug appeared in Chrome: In a small web app we have some umlaut characters like äöü. Strangely said characters were displayed as cyrillic, but only on my pc... On every other device it worked. I spent about 5 hours of checking encodings (everything was in UTF-8), reading posts in the almighty stackoverflow.
Finally i figured out, the font was broken. After reinstalling it, everything was peaceful again in my head. -
Probably the most Russian programming language is Python.
Why, I hear you ask?
because every Python app's file is signed with a Russian national suffix... .ru
P.S. that came to my attention just today. After all those years...9 -
Want a simple but terrible annoying prank?
Change the keyboard map from UTF8 to ASCII or vice versa and set the system font to something funky like a Greek or Cyrillic variant... :)1 -
So I was wandering around Lithuania during a time period when the freaks were playing nice. Took some pictures of hot chocolate or coffee can't remember long time ago and some photos of a nice snow covered trail and added some Cyrillic what a nice vacation
True story
This is in Russia immediately after my trip to Lithuania
The people were certainly not twisted freaks who were acting nice for once and leaving me alone instead of acting like fucked up chomo captors. A word I never use but I've been inspired by hearing it over and over
I like it here
There are Tons of people I get along with who have the same interests11 -
Just started typing "devr..." in the address bar, not realising my keyboard was in cyrillic mode.
So instead of reading about b2plane's shits and hurriedly scrolling past AI-generated creepy anime kids, I've been reading about Великоустюгский Многопрофильный колледж.
If I was more dedicated in my language studies I might have understood more than 10% of it.
