I'm in a small company so they don't have a big budget.
The previous I.T guy went full retard and decided that it would be a great idea to buy a shitty 200$ laptop with a soldered eMMc hard drive for accounting.
Since they NEVER use the cloud and just pass around excel files, the files aren't really saved anywhere but on the USBs and the computer.
Guess what ? The motherboard fucking fried and almost 6 MONTHS of accounting work was lost. Out of warranty of course, not that it would help since the eMMc chip is also fucked.
That's what you get for trying to cheap out on hardware and not choosing the right stuff.4 -
Why the fuck would you decide to make it virtually impossible to just deactivate Windows Defender in 20H2? This is so incredibly stupid!16

Don't like the way how to do something? Witte software for it! You need something automated? Develop the autonation algorithms! Don't like how an open source application works? Change it! Don't like how the closed source application works? Fucking reverse engineer and patch it!
Being a developer opens incredibly man doors in the world of information technology, that technology that drives our world, society and so, so many parts of everyone's life. So why on earth wouldn't you want to be a developer?2 -
I reinstalled windows through the automatic install process where it wipes my previous windows installation. To my absolute surprise grub, and all of its options are still working.
Still kinda suspicious, but I'll take it.3 -

FUCK EMMC AND 32BIT UEFI WITH A BIG RUSTY POLE.
Wow that helped actually...
Now then... If anyone has any suggestions on how to actually boot Ubuntu after installation on Asus x205ta I will give them my first born son.

Im thinking about getting a raspberry pi 3 or an odroid-c2.
(Specs at the end)
Its to host a simple php server and maybe a gitlab server, both for personal use.
Should I go with the better performance or the better community support?

LPT you can just write debug(foo) and it'll break as soon as chromium debugger hits a foo function call. Undoable by using undebug(foo).2

So... My Nexus 5X died few hours ago, i have no clue what happened. Tried to google it, found a lot of people have same problem, most of it said it was Samsung eMMC problem that need to blow with heat air. I just realized, how the fcuk Samsung's things screwed up my LG Nexus 5X from inside! Very Interesting Weekend 😵5

The first company I developed software for had no coding conventions and it was visible in the codebase of almost all of our products. This is why I follow the coding conventions for every language I use.

Topic: Linux (Ubuntu) on eMMC drives.
Long story short: https://youtu.be/VvmROT8LEsM
I'm pretty new to linux and my primary computer is running on windows, but I wanted Linux back again (Had it once for a short time) so I decided that my Win10 Laptop (Acer Aspire 1) has to be sacrificed to satisfy my needs.
Unfortunately it has an eMMC drive so I did a little research and found out that a lot of people had issues with them, but YouTube spit out that poorly made, but we'll explained video.
If someone else isn't sure about Linux running on eMMCs watch the video and follow the instructions.
Btw I'm using the latest Ubuntu Budgie atm.
Wish you a wonderful weekend!
