Popup: "Do you enjoy using our app"
No, because I know you want to trick me into reviewing your app6 -
I guess that is what you get for bringing up security issues on someones website.
Not like I could read, edit or delete customer or company data...
I mean what the shit... all I did was try to help and gives me THIS? I even offered to help... maybe he got angry cause I kind of threw it in his face that the whole fucking system is shit and that you can create admin accounts with ease. No it's not a framework or anything, just one big php file with GET parameters as distinction which function he should use. One fucking file where everything goes into.21 -
"and what do you do for a living?"
"I study software engineering and work as a software engineer part time"
"Really? You don't look like it!"
"Excuse me? What do I have to look like?"
The stereotypes are strong in development...4 -
My Aunt works for a company for which I did a website. She shows me a plastic cup with a pretty design and a qr code on it and asks me if I knew anything about that. I declined and she continued to tell me that her boss claims I can connect the qr code to some location on the website. Of course I can't. Now they have 2000 of these things lying around the office with a stock qr code that is invalid7

I hate fanboys. If ANYBODY is saying something against "their" company, they get upset and argue about it like little children. If your technology is shit, if your browser sucks, if your phone explodes, if your OS is slow, just admit it. I can't stand these fuckers thinking they have to defend themselves just cause a company released a shit product...10

Been there for two weeks
[Team lead] why didn't you deploy to production like i told you, while i was sick?
[Me] nobody told me i should do that
[TL] i wrote you on slack
[Me] I'm pretty sure you didn't
*TL scrolls through history, can't find proof*
[TL] okay I can't find anything, I probably told you in a hangout call
He did not, I would remember that...3 -
I started my part time job as a tutor today. Yesterday (while preparing) I learned how a browser actually renders a page and bunch of other stuff. Don't get me wrong, I kind of knew it. But not in such detail that I could ever explain it... even though I work in web development since 2011
This will be fun, I wonder what I will learn next2 -
So if anyone has visited slant.co they will know the website is overrun with this shit...
What the flying fuck is wrong with these people?21 -
Slipping a cheeky '#define true (rand() > 5)' at the top of your code because you're edgy and like to mix things up2

I started in school and i thought it would be enough. My father convinced me to look into php and i inhaled it. Now, 12 years later, I am a self employed web dev and I teach web development. Thanks dad!1

Can you go faster from 0 to a 100 than drake?
for(int i=0; i<=100; i++) {
Console.WriteLine(i);
}
Show me your fastest way!5 -
How about moving the floating + button to the top bar? There is enough space and it won't block anything @dfox3

Everything jetbrains. It has so much increased in performance and usability over the last couple of years and is the perfect tool for me.

When developers see everything the way it could be rather than the way it is - sort of on a slant. Opens up lots of opportunities.

When you jokingly suggest overriding MAX_INT32 to be something 10x larger to accommodate larger trades, then come back to numerous messages about how "the number wouldn't fit into a signed int anymore" and "you can't just do that wtf", you really start to question who you're talking to 😂😂

I started in school with visual basic at the age of 13. my father then told me to learn php cause it could be useful one day. I wrote a little browser game and got really into it. In the meantime we switched to c++ in school and did a bit of Java.
Now I am studying software engineering and got my first job as a php developer thanks to my father. This led me to nodejs + angularjs development which I am currently working with (and Java at the university) -
Some modern conveniences may actually be inconveniences when one considers the propensity they have to slant us as adaptive beings.9
