I have one full stack dev, who claims to know Python and Webpack, but the funny thing is that he is complete shit in anything he does
As he is working in office and I work remotely, CEO and CTO give all his doings a priority
The most fucking part was when he left a project for 2 weeks and when came back he told that nothing had changed.
... he didn't even look to the code, or running website, he just told thst nothing was done
I was so insane, that I told him almost everything I think about him
Fortunately, I am still on this job and he in not working on this project =D -
I have found the best game for learning ever XD
I have recently heared about io.netgarage.org and tried to solve several it's levels, and I find this game awsome
It is the best to learn reverse engineering)) it is just like an Impossible quiz, where you have to smash the stack to get to the next level))
I have wasted much time for that, but it is worth it))
((Not an advertisment))7 -
I needed to migrate one DB to another with one sql suite but instead I fucked up and suddenly disconnected both DBs, without being able to reconnect them again
I waisted a whole day for debugging, but found nothing
And guess which magic fixed all issues? On and Off a service of an app
On and Off!!!
The fun thing is that restarting the server didn't help, but the only service helped1 -
Only I can break the workflow of main app our project is using in the second day on this job...
Guys, always read the documentation before even touching anything -
I hate that fucking Upwork for having so much fucking scrapers
Most of jobs are fucking scraping related
Looks like it is the only useful thing they can do for their projects or advertisments... -
Rarely refactor my code: sometimes there are completely same parts of code which I am too lazy to move to a separate function)))
-
Started learning Ansible and HashiCorp's Terraform and it is really cool. I like their documentation so much!))
Are they the best for now, or there are some better similar projects?1 -
My web dev teacher was drunk almost every lesson, and my C++ teachers don't care about visiting our high school)) All we know is learnt by ourselves
Other teacher hates when we type
void smth(){
}
Instead of
void smth()
{
}
And wants to overwrite the code to fix these style errors))3 -
Was using my Arch linux and made a usual -Syu update, and what a fuck: my mesa driver went crazy, sddm fucked up, and I couldn't load my favorite KDE!
Fortunately installed GNOME, and customized it a bit, but damn, miss my desktop
Gonna do all posible to repare this bug ASAP))8 -
I have waitsted whole my day searching a bug with memory allocation in C++, and still don't know how to fix it! That moment, when coding took me far less time than searching that fucking bug... I feel that i missed anything, but all looks ok
I HATE C++ WITH IT'S FUCKING POINTERS!!!!!25 -
Well, they are just fucking kidding
Unix guru on entry level... That moment, when you realise that client is too lazy to pick option intermediate or expert, but expects somebody to do evetything5 -
Every day I ask myself at least 5 (not too difficult) questions about programming (for instance "Can I compile Java in runtime?")
If I don't know them - I find their answer somewhere
It is like continuous integration, but with my knowledge - small portions of info are saved well in my brains)) -
What is the biggest awk program you ever written?)
For me often several lines are enough, but here can be some text huru that make awesome awk scripts) -
Guys, is Akonadi server needed in KDE? It makes KDE startup so slow, that even Windows starts faster! There are some other processes that slow startup, but I hadn't found them yet
Can akonadi server be started after DE start is completed? -
That is one thing I hate:
Every second programming tutorial in Youtube is made by Hindu, and unfortunately their spelling is not so good. That is why learning from this tutorial becomes twice difficult and ridiculously funny...
I need a function of searching only videos with great spelling XD
P.S. It's not question of nation, but of spelling12 -
How do you lower the level of stress, without rubber duckies, stess balls and other material stuff?)8
-
My music (often MrSuicideSheep long mixes) + good mood + my computer + knowledge of IDE or vim keybindings = maximum productivity
-
I am interested, are there any professionals (or amateurs) in some sports in our community?
How do you combine sport and job?
I'm a ballroom dancer (it's not me on the photo, just example) and it's more than a hobby, but it is money-demanding, so I study programming
I have no job jet, but planning to have it soon4 -
I'm dreaming to send homework to my C++ programing lecturer full of strange #defines and make the code compilable, runnable and working well
He would feel the black side of cpp😈😈😈18 -
Everyone is talking about devRant stickers, so, for whom are they given? Is that for elite devs only?XD )) 'Cause I'd like have one like that =} they are rly cool)14
