how often did this happen to you?
- fix a bug
- think, now that i'm here, let's smuggle in some refactoring, just this aspect, won't take too long
- spend more than half a day refactoring, finally finding yourself entangled in a spaghetti nightmare
- stash / shelve and revert all your refactoring changes
- continue on your other tasks and talk to noone about it ._.6 -

I work for a client that introduced a "roadmap" with tasks labeled with task numbers in May this year. And its 1st July and development-wise we are at task #15. And the client havent asked us to deploy anything yet. Not even task #1.
So its been 2 months of us just developing features in our local machines and now its pissing me off.
What would you do in my situation ?4 -
Today I ran the Windows network troubleshooter because my laptop didn't have wifi.
The troubleshooter ACTUALLY FIXED THE ISSUE!!! This is the first time I see a Windows troubleshooter actually FIX THE ISSUE.9 -
Ever noticed whenever you actually need a friend, none of them can be reached?
Technology has failed me. Where is my robot companion?17 -
I'm officially CTC.
Chief Technical Clown 🤡
How do I know? I've yet to write a single line of productive code today. I've spent the day purely as an administrative cog: writing emails, giving data to consultants, supporting juniors, and cleaning up the absolute hellscape that is also known as our Jira project.
I've become exactly what I hate.12 -
Being a developer for 6+ years in many different stacks, and moving up to a kinda lead level position, has made me feel like I’m not working as much as I was doing before.
Yeah I do code reviews, meetings, tech documentations and peer coding sessions, but still doesn’t give me the feel like I did the work I was supposed to do.
Anyone ever felt this and any tips to overcome?3 -
the problem of being slightly competent is that they'll give you more and more work others aren't doing. sucks to be the one carrying the party irl2

This tree was the loneliest tree on Earth. The next tree was 400 kilometres away.
In 1973, it was knocked down by a truck driver.4
