Yes former technical person who is now a business person. Please, please advise me on my job with your decaying outdated skills. Yes, google for me. I didn't know how to do that. Ah wonderful yes, you recall this being "easy" which is why you quit the field. What a nice time this is.4

Had meeting with higher ups.
Higher ups sad work hasn't progressed as much as they want.
I look at my calendar.
Barely 15 mins free for the day for a small washroom break7 -
month off on vacation
come back to work and try to remember shit
struggle to decipher/remember public wiki documents you wrote prior to vacation

Computers are allowed to work remotely from their server rooms in the cloud but people are enforced to go to office.
Computers are superior to humans2 -
Not a deadline but I once worked for a company that regularly asked for “accurate estimates” which I found hilariously oxymoronic7

A coworker just died. He wasn't even 50.
Everyone make sure you're keeping your stress in check, and prioritizing your health. Go get that thing checked out you've been putting off.
This career is lucrative but it has its toll. Make sure you're taking time away.30 -

I just want to share a small win in my career. finally, I got a 6-digit salary (relative to my country's currency)
the down side though, it's a .NET position10 -
Non technical people are interesting. Not only do we have to switch to unga bunga language to help them, but they accuse us of man-splaining when we do.5

I got the job! 🥳 🎉
One company wanted me to wait a little over a week because they had other final round interviews going on. Meanwhile, during that time, I got an offer, but declined because of lower than expected salary and higher salary on the other potential offer. Later, they got back and increased the salary and changed the role to Lead. Got the role after one more round of interview. 😁10 -
The fucking cunts didn't approve my PR because "it wasn't necessary to do it like this". My PR would have fixed some technical debt, but yes, fuck you too if it doesn't fit your shitty narrative.8

I fucking hate it when apps are not named the same way as the fucking product or company. "Connect" app. Connect fucking what? "Mobile bank". Let me try to search for it using the name of my bank. Haha, oops, I forgot I should rather go fuck myself. MusicCast. You're fucking Yamaha and if I can't find you at Y then gods help me.4

Government: Taxes have gone up due to inflation!

Employee: Cost of my services have gone up.
Company: Listen here you little shit.12 -
Man, my product owner is so fucking annoying. I am 50/50 between two projects when really it feels like I'm 100/100 - and the PO of one of the projects always requests that I join daily stand ups and give updates.
CUNT.
I don't always have updates because I'm working with another team. Why are you trying to micromanage me you fuck face. Also, you know when you get those PO's that are totally useless and don't actually bring any real value to the project except in the capacity of being a slimey charismatic weasel? Yah, that's this person.4 -
My home feels like $work owns a corner of it, and I can’t walk near there without feeling this this intense psychological dread.
Lack of time boundaries is pretty awful, too.6 -
When I was a kid, my dad was always busy. He is an orphan with next to inheritance and had to work really hard to send me to school. I don’t remember playing with him ever.
He is about to retire in a few years, so he gets some free time now, but now, I’m struggling too hard and don’t have time for anything random at all. The generation gap makes it impossible to share anything at all.
We don’t have any common interests, and don’t get to do stuff together.
Today, we built a mechanical keyboard together. 1 hour. I absolutely loved it.4 -
we switched from GitHub to BitBucket and I saw my colleague try to run `bit status` because they thought GitHub = git so BitBucket = bit.
Had a good chuckle seeing that.9
