After pissing me off for month or so with it's stupid bsods I've decided it's time to move on. Fuck windows.7
-
Just updated to the latest insider build for Windows 10.. left PC unattended and came back later and it was ready... no BSODs, no random crashes, no issues, nothing... it just works as expected...
I can hear Linux fanatics screaming after reading this 😂
FUCK all this Windows stereotypes BS going on here13 -
So, there's something I really don't understand.
Everyone here is complaining about Windows and that it "always BSODs".
I've only seen 4 Bluescreens in the entire time I used Windows. That is over 7 years.
So, what are you doing to your computer to cause so many Bluescreens?11 -
So, I got my very first gaming laptop on March 2015. Took a break from the almighty PC Master Race.
It's an Asus ROG G751JT. It was doing great, running my favourite games at 60FPS on high-ultra settings.
Few months after purchasing it, I've been getting a lot of BSODs with the same error (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)
As told by the guys at a local forum, I was told to try replacing the RAMs and I was stupid enough, I did. It has 4x 8GB HyperX Impact DDR3L.
The error still won't go away until I changed my SSDs. Which worked for a while until a week ago.
Getting the same BSOD countless times. This time I decided to directly talk to an expert, which is a friend of mine and guess what. It was the motherboard after all. Spent a lot of $$$$ to fix ONE BSOD.
Now I'm stuck with an Asus T100TF for about a month because I had to send it for warranty claim.
smh jfc anasmy y u so stupid for a year and a half. 10/10 worst experience (since it involved a lot of money)
What do you think of my stupidity? Comment below (10 marks).8 -
I decided to do a daily Blender render just as a creative challenge for myself. I was so excited because I built an awesome computer this year and was eager to put it to use, only to be hit with seemingly random BSODs and crashes a couple seconds into the render.
As it turns out, my CPU cooler is woefully inadequate to handle 32 threads running at once, which was the cause of my crashes. Turning the render threads down to 8 keeps the temps low enough to finish the render.
In a way, it's a relief because the alternative was a problem with my $900 GPU. I've ordered a bigger CPU cooler and well reviewed heatsink paste which will hopefully fix it. If not, I'm going to have to go water-cooled, which I really don't want to do.34 -
So I'm basically my family's IT guy, as you'd expect, but this is just pulling my hairs.
My mom's laptop has a weird error message saying something about a corrupt windows update database.
Not wanting to mess the system up, I decided to factory reset the computer and see if that helped.
During the factory reset, windows tells me that it can't delete all files, and that another factory reset might be in order.
Alright, I don't think any more of it and proceed to setup the account on the computer, everything works fine.
Next day I decide to run windows update on it just to see if everything works as it should, the computer restarts and immediately BSoDs on me. Upon reboot the same error from before the system reset pops up again, and I'm back to square one.
Fuck windows and all its constant issues9 -
I've been using arch for like 2 months now. And I can even play games on it quite smooth (cs and stuff). But I'm missing Witcher 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. So I took all my courage and booted into win10. Guess what they welcome me with...
Edit: this was after the 5th reboot. Now I'm getting fucking bsods like nothing because of bad memory allocation :( fuck this shit. Has anybody of you got a working windows PC? I just want to playyyy 😢9 -
WHAT DAFAQ MICROSOFT! Soo many BSODs after win 10 upgrade..*sigh* ....sometimes ruins hour s of work.. :(5

Got tired of Windows 10 giving me BSODs
Tried fixing it (previous rant)
Decided to get rid of it
Purged Windows 10 along with Mint for good
Booted Solus (It's awesome)
Installing..
Installation failed - Input/Output error(5)
?
Maybe ISO got corrupted
Downloaded ISO again (painfully slowly)
Installing...
Success!
Booted to Login screen
Incorrect username/password (shit)
Tried again x times (absolutely correct username and password, I'm sure)
Doesn't work
Booted from the same USB again
Format and Install (again)
Installing..
Installation failed - Input/Output error(5)
:(
I'm not sure what's going wrong here..
My laptop is soulless right now..9 -
I've read some posts about how bad Windows is lately and I'm just wondering how some can break their installations so bad.. I mean like multiple BSODs just for installing updates, or just don't get their windows to work at all. I've been using win next to Linux(Debian/Ubuntu) for quite some time now and never had those kind of problems, also on pure Windows 7/10 PCs.2

If you have a 13900k and you have random BSODs and application crashes, use XTU and turn down your P-Cores in Performance Per Core Turning to 54x. There is some kind of bug in the turbo boost and going past the 5.4GHZ mark just doesn't work.
I've basically built this computer twice now. I replaced the motherboard because I destroyed it, replaced the RAM because I thought I had the wrong type, and now the processor which was the actual root of all my problems.4 -
Ouch - got my first Windows blue screen in years! (Lacking a picture of it, I stole this one from the interwebs)
Cause: The LITE-ON SSD cache drive. So, can't blame MS for this one, but BSODs are great flamebait regardless of cause.
The SSD was 3 years old, which seems a very short life span for an SSD, unless it's an OCZ.2 -
For starters - I like Windows 10. I seldom have any problems with it. But...
For fucking fuck sake how did this fucking happen. I tried to make a carbon copy of my small 128 SSD with Windows and Linux on it onto a bigger, 256 GB one using Partition Wizard. Something went so fucking wrong that Windows started showing me, for the first time in a looooooong time, BSODs. It wouldn't be so bad if after restoring Windows grub stopped functioning and now I can't access any OS on this drive. And all I wanted was to migrate to bigger disk...2 -
Ok so I'm a student so I don't have a boss but man this one kid who is the lead of my programming team. I swear he works with a 10ft pole up his a**. Maybe that's why he is so tall 🤔. Anyways he is a nerd and by far my LEAST favorite person ever. I wish nothing but BSODs in his future. He is a devrant user but I'm not gonna name him to hurt his feelings. *cough* ewpratten *cough* but im.pretty sure he copy pastas 🍝 his code from stack schools and pastes it in our mainframe robot.

Worst dev disaster?
Welp, my now 6 year old Mac keeps sending signal to my monitors that in my experience regardless of OS generally says "my video card is gonna fuckin die soon".
I've re-installed the Windows partition like 3 times, but that responds to the video card problems so bad it pretty much just BSODs... but the Mac side soldiers on, just occasionally having weird visual glitches. Thats fine, I work on the Mac side.
And I don't really want to spend a shit ton on a new computer... but I do want a Mac, so I'm gonna spend a shit ton.
So now I have to decide if I can hold out for an M1 or if I should just shell like thousands for a Mac that will be out of date in like 4 months. After which for development purposes I'd still have to buy at least the M1 dev kit Mac Mini.
All of which hinges on this effing video card lasting another few months.
Because if it doesn't I'm going to have to use my kids 8GB fuckin HP laptop as my main dev machine while I get another Mac in the mail and that would fucking suck not to mention the like minimum two days sleep I'd lose just setting up the required local environments I'd need... not to mention I'd have to do all that in Windows... so I'd have to find Windows equivalents for all my dev tools. Or fuck it, maybe I could just install Putty and server cowboy everything... but it would still suck.
And, of course, I don't have time to do any of that because I have the normal like 2 tight deadlines on shit.
The next few months of my life, potentially my ability to earn a living, potentially my sanity...
Hangs on the health of a fucking six year old heavily abused video card.9 -
What do you do when the bsod bsods? Apparently one of the ram sticks died while the pc was running so windows died with it. It's a lovely thing to fix at Christmas at relatives.4
-
So after 10 BSODs and 5 hours of recorvering, formatting and reinstalling we finally managed to reinstall Windows 10 on my friends computer! Yaaaaah! I was so freaking stressed and frustrated but now its all good2
-
Windows is such a piece of shit. A couple of months ago I ordered a PC with Windows as an OS (cuz u know games and stuff). Lately it's just throwing random BSODs everytime with a new error message. This is happening not constantly but in a random behaviour. Nevermind ... But now since I switched one of my monitors to a vertical position instead of the traditional horizontal one, Windows just won't want to recognize this monitor. You know what... FUCK WINDOWS! FUCK THIS GAMES! LINUX all the way.3

This laptop se poes!
3 BSODs already today. On top of the whole wicket thing giving me kak with the stupid way it pulls in JS.
Like this is a Java gig (which comes with several issues of its own) so why the fuck am I on Windblows anyway5 -
BSoDs/scenario I've had in 5 months:
Watching a video on VLC: 5
Chrome running normally: 2
Chrome running while waking up from sleep:3
Working on WSL: 2
Updating: 1
Seriously though. VLC? (╯°□°)╯6 -
Sooo...
In the last hour this piece of shi ehm I mean wonderful piece of technology named Winshit 10 gave me 2 BSODs and one complete freeze. It always ran without any problems but in the last time it slowly began to really really suck. -
To those using Qubes, has anyone been able to install Windows 10 on a hardware VM and how did it run; BSODs per hour. If you converted a Win10 VirtualBox image to Qubes HVM your input is also valid
