What if your programming language would be chosen by The Sorting Hat from Harry Potter?
You would sit like:
*please not php, please not php, please not php*3 -
Just thought that there should be a Harry Potter based code camp where the four houses represents a language that you are learning at the camp.
For example, Gryffindor can be ruby, Hufflepuff can be Javascript, Ravenclaw can be PHP and, of course, Python is Slytherin.14 -
So there’s this Harry Potter book made with AI: “Harry Potter and the Portrait of What Looked Like a Large Pile of Ash”... I need to get it7

The craziest deadline I have had was to build an e-commerce site with php in 3 days after learning php for just a week.

Me: We have a bug, we are not sure what's really happening yet. We have to look into it.
Project manager: what's happening
Me: We dont know yet
Project manager: How much time will it take to fix it
Me: We dont kn... actually *quick maths* unknown multiplied by "I dont know" divided by logic and addition of past experience - how many times we cant put time on bugs multiplied by we have been here before subtracted by the sqaure root of can we have time to investigate first?
Me: ....mhh an hour or so (then I remember Harry Potter wasnt my classmate) oh actually 2 hrs (in my head, safer)
Bug takes 2 days to solve 🙃
Project manager: you said 2hrs
Me to myself: I said it's a bug. A damn bug.6 -
Client: I don't know programming. But I think you should make the button more fancy?
Me: ... I am not Harry Potter, don't imagine programming like magic. And you ain't even a programmer...
Daily conversation with our precious client2 -
Do you get random nostalgic moments when you see things you saw as a child?
i sometimes put on the early Harry Potter movies, since they came out as I was reading the books as a child. They fucking work miracles for my mood. But that is just me.Currently watching Prisoner of Azkaban, my favorite one, as I work. Gives me warm feelings as much as the rest. The entire series is my favorite, regardless of things that were changed.6 -
I know... I know... We're not kids anymore...
But come on there just has to be a group of Harry Potter lovers in this "geeky" community.
So which house do you see yourself in?
Me, myself and I = Ravenclaw all the way
*this post was shamefully inspired by the description of @theNox*32 -
Can GET method be renamed to "accio" and DELETE to "Avada Kedavra"?
Harry Potter on my mind today.1 -

When you realise that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets had a post-credits scene 😨😱❤️4 -
Fast Internet connection always distracted me to streaming youtube about technology or tutorial, but normally end up with 100% unrelated videos like how to sharp your knife using mug or watching top 10 mistakes in Harry Potter 😖😖😖3
-
When I see bullshit mostly about tech-related stuff, I usually imagine myself doing this. It makes me happy and in some situations almost tolerant to idiotism.

Looking blankly at the code review that I'm supposed to do whilst listening to HP & The Deathly Hallows for the last hour. It's a long Friday here fellas!1

When is prime videos going to fix it's search engine....
Not a single one of the 22 results found for "Harry Potter 5th part" was even close to Harry Potter :)13 -
Sooo I’m typically a proponent of physical copy of books, as I’d rather sit and read them, write and take notes. Essentially all my books turn into something out of the “half blood prince” potions book from Harry Potter.
But it’s so inconvenient as either my books are in my office or in the library at home. It ends up being something like connecting a USB... the book I need at the time is always in the opposite place I am in currently.
Also, all the books I want now are newer and none are on the used market. For a reasonable price.
So I gave in a bought an iPad with the hopes of putting the books in pdf form on it... I’ll pay for some PDFs but hey if I can get it free thru a google search then it is what it is lol.
Not sure how I’m gonna adapt to reading on a tablet, as I really prefer a physical book.. hell I still use national brand computation notebooks for all my notes. Nothing beats writing it down, AND I still have an IBM selectric 3 and Swintec, nothing beats sitting down and just letting the thoughts flow neatly on a piece of paper and then glueing it the notebook
Anyway whatcha y’alls thoughts of using an iPad as a digital library of books.. using the Apple Pencil to annotate the book. I bought the 12.9 inch as the screen size is closest to a sheet of paper
Also, I don’t read fiction all the books I read are nonfiction, reference manuals, textbooks, data sheets, user manuals, stuff like the art of computer programming by knuth, Kent beck, Robert Martin, folwler books, etc14 -
The sorting hat 🎩 from Harry Potter🧙 movies would have put me in Slytherin🐍
Any guesses why??😏

I know Python.🐍😝7 -
incredible how many clowns are out there... saw a guy asking about "blocks" and "plugins" on reddit about gatsby... what is this, 2001 with PHP? GTFO or learn your shit, its clear you are an absolute clown. its 2023, nothing is hard unless you make it hard (deep truth that only the good ones will understand; stubborn idiots will remain stubborn and bitter)
i'm too wasted too put in tags; you already know what they would be
on the bright side, rewatched harry potter 1... damn i gotta reread the books again, fucking classic stuff
inb4 jk rowling haters; you'll never even have a thousandth of her genius you stupid illiterate fucks
i'll die on this hill infinite times like fucking edge of tomorrow3 -
I saw this clip the other day, and it made me think of frontend validation vs backend validation.
I firmly believe we developers can be thought of as wizards.

[wk224 - stuff on my desk]
Cant post a picture because the office is closed again, but a ceramic cat chopstick holder from tokio, a harry potter mug, some 3d printed hex boxes for sd cards and usb sticks. -
Really long story. It begins when I was 11 years old, Harry Potter was kind of a hit (it was the beginning) and a lot of site based of the universe where popping everywhere on the internet. I wanted to make mine so much I subscribed to a french website which offered free tutorials on differents languages. The site is still up, it is now called OpenClassrooms and it saved my life a lot.
I tried to learn HTML (4 at the time if my memory's good) and CSS, but my mother didn't believe in my project and made me quit.
Nine years after, I was looking for something to do in my life: I tried a cursus in art history and archeology, I made a Baker school, but my life didn't feel filled.
I heard about a formation in a town near mine, and was for everyone, newbies or veterans, who wanted to have their diploma either in networks or in code.
The coding classes where fantastic. We learned VB.net, Pascal, php, laravel, C#, SQL, PL/SQL (we had a teacher who was absolutely fan of Oracle), I topped my class and now I am in the next formation for my Bachelor. Today I learn Java, Symfony, Android.
The ones who taught me to code? Internet, my teachers, books. But my teachers were the most important, because they gave me the confidence. -
seeing wwdc keynote and asking myself is there anything left they shouldn't cover and reply came from inside.
what do you want in iOS now??? Harry Potter?
they fucking opened there OS like never before -
They’re watching flubber again and this is triggering their desire to shove ladies heels up their asses
One of the old creepy bastards is already shifting around and according to zim like with literally everything they make some weird association
It’s like inmates watching Harry Potter
In among them someone is fantasizing about dating him as a kid and then molesting him
