Quite happy with myself, I just made a 60 line backup script that takes in a super simple JSON file and backs up your files in multiple formats. Attached to a cron job and boom. 60 line home baked backup solution4

Holy fuck, muscle memory just saved my ass.
At a train station wanting to do some work on my mini laptop which has disk encryption (LUKS I think). Realised that I forgot the password partly 😬
Few tries.... incorrect. FUCK.
*hey, let's try to let my hands do the work based on muscle memory!*
*starts typing the password (its insanely long) and presses enter*
*succesfully unlocked, booting...*

If you've ever used Vue.Draggable and been as frustrated as I have, try Vue Smooth DnD. It works flawlessly and syncs properly without relying on DOM state. Just what's necessary for true reactive drag and drop. 😁5

They call it $5/gb hotel wifi, i call it free uncapped 100meg fibre because your security sucks
Oh and they host their entire POS (and database with backups) on the same network accessible to every TV in the hotel16 -
I just found my favorite editor in the shelves for cleaning products and couldn't help but buy it 🙃 but I'm afraid that when I open it, I might not be able to ever close it again...13

I am happy!
Participated in Hacktoberfest for the first time, and now, the t-shirt (which, btw, looks pretty nice imo) is on its way! Can't wait!
Thanks to the people who organize these sort of events ❤️😁2 -
Best boss I have ever had?
He owned a car dealership and made me the first fulltime employed webdev in a car dealership in germany.
He believed in me and our mutual vision, and we had an awesome 7.5 years together. he gave me time to develop myself and to develop software and websites.
through my software and process optimization we were able to go from 300 sold cars per year to 3000 without hiring any more employees and without increasing workload and stress on the employees.
When I had my last day at his company, he didn't show up.
I was mad like hell, because we have spent so much time together, went to many countries together, even slept in the same hotel bed! I considered him pretty much a friend, even though he was my boss and 10 years older.
Much later he told me that he didn't show up on my last day because he didn't want to cry.
now we meet every 3 months and go out, eat and drink and just talk and laugh.
best guy ever, will never forget what he did for me.12 -
Few phrases you should not say at Job:
1. That's not my job
2. We've tried that before
3. There's no budget for that
4. I told you so
5. That doesn't follow procedure
Comment if you have more.36 -
I've never had a great experience working with designers, but this one might be the laziest! Props if it's for a friend and unpaid though.15
