Sorry yesterday installing LineageOS because wanted to Android 10 and got tired of OxygenOS replacing recovery and root every time it updates...

The build failed and bricked my phone so installed Lineage Pie.... so same as before...

Then found out today there an app that will indeed OxygenOS 10 and for all future updates can auto install and keep root....

So now reinstalling OxygenOs...

CI/CD is probably the best thing that I ever learned about in the software engineering field.

Whenever I merge into master, my code automatically builds and the artifacts are uploaded to a new release on github.

I know Google isn't the worst company in the world. But some of their data tracking just seems a bit odd. Such as keeping audio logs each time you use Google on your phone. Or when it picks up random bits of conversation. Along with them keeping track of where your going, and where you have been. Even if Google maps isn't running.

And one of my all time favorites is when Google Allo was a thing, it used to have access to my camera randomly without actually opening the app. My phone will tell me different logs each time Allo opened the camera without my permission.

I know they need to collect data in order to advance some of their fields of tech. But it just seems a bit intrusive when companies like Google do this.

Recently started to listen to (IT/Programming) podcasts and enjoying them quite a lot. Any suggestions on podcasts I should check out?

Modern web development is fucked. Just absolutely, totally screwed up.

I want to create a simple to do list web app. Look for a tutorial: "OK guys, this is really easy, it just takes five minutes."

First step, install these:
- Git
- NPM
- NodeJS
- Express
- MongoDB
- Docker
- React

Second step, npm install about one million modules. Don't question what they do or why they're there.

Before you know it, six hours have passed and you've got a code base of 3GB and you haven't even _started_ on your app.

FUCK that shit! I can create this web app with Internet Explorer and Notepad.

I'm really glad my parent knew the importance of computers. They bought my brother a PC in 2000 and we got the chance to learn a great deal of things. I remember those times with a grin on my face. Probably the happiest years of my life. :)
