Today is day 3 of Windows 11 for me, and after about an hour of gaming, everything got laggy. I thought it was an AV scanner taking its sweet time kind of lag, but then.... I couldn't switch back to the desktop, I couldn't launch the task manager, it was just a solid frozen brick, and then when I unpaused this game to go back into it.... it was frozen too.

So here I am , with a frozen machine, so I give up and attempt a hard reboot........ yep, your fucked too. Windows auto repair kicks in, and it freezes too.

So now I'm here, with a brick of a fucking machine, wondering wtf could have gone so wrong.

Finally, I've made it to the failed boot screen,

permission denied.

Ok.... I don't think I want to know how this works.

Now to understand how the fuck you can get a permission denied when your running CMD before boot 😐

The only reason I use Linux is because I can't get a mac.

Windows troubleshooting:
- Works on my system, therefore it's not an issue.
- Must be a hardware error.
- Obviously it's just cheap hardware.
- Have you tried turning it off and on again?
- Here's some obscure error code that leads nowhere.
- Have you tried "sfc /scannow"?

Solution: quietly weep and reinstall your system.

Linux troubleshooting:
- There are good quality log files.
- You can run the program from the command-line and read both stdout and stderr from it.
- You can usually run the program with high verbosity options to help you track down the error.
- Even daemons can have their commands spawned from a dedicated shell, to see why they failed.
- Usually it's a configuration error and you can easily edit the configuration file.
- More often than not, the program will tell you why it failed.

Solution: usually easy to find.

Your copy of Windows can literally break down to an unusable mess, make your cat explode and burn your house down - and still the first solution of MS TechNets support guys would be to run "sfc /scannow".

Second time in in 30 days I’ve had to run sfc for Windows to boot correctly.

So this morning, I was having problems with Explorer.exe. So I did a sfc /scannow to fix it.

After booting, my PC would not boot. I thought I did something to break it. I kept turning it off and on. I was scared that I broke my computer again.

I plugged out my keyboard. It booted.

Then I realized--it was my stupid broken keyboard being weird again.

WHy

I have heavily customised my windows and my firewalls were down, I had taken ownership of some files and in that process some virus got itself stuck onto System32/logonUI.exe
I was unable to use defender as every option was greyed out.
Every time i logged into windows the process ran itself.
Tried booting Windows Defender Offline but it gave BSOD.
Tried sfc scan and it showed that windows was unable to restore some files for which integrity check failed.

On restart i was unable to login as I was sent back to password screen right after giving a password.

Fixed it using safe mode and blanking password through net user.

Had a very deep sleep after cracking it.

So when windows cannot open a png with its standard image viewer without a file system error and while running sfc/scannow a bsod appears, maybe this old tablet shouldn't be used anymore, which already runs slow as hell...

The sticker would look amazing on my laptop, too bad i'm not going to get one soon 🙁🙁

I'm using Fedora 25/ pre-release, and It's rock solid except for wifi hotspot and I don't need it.

Now my school gave me a Windows 10 pro key, and I'm hesitant.
Should I install it ?
Will I need it ?
