"It's sad to think that some people crave a commute because it's the only time during the day they have to themselves." 👀8

I don't mind helping but puuuuuuleeeeeease learn from what I have been teaching. Flex your brain and give me your initial ideas instead of waiting to be given the answer. I need to know you are learning and you are critically thinking the error. I don't expect you to be right but I expect you to at least try. Please try!2

Built my first singleton today. Dunno if I need it, should've used it, or if I even did it right, but I think I did.
In all seriousness I made a singleton and have no idea what I'm doing. It works and I think I understand it but it is in WordPress so no one ever knows. -
God I hate Liferay.... now I had to make bkend to make ws calls to frontend just to keep LR cache happy. Is there at least one sane soul who likes that thing?1

Don't you just love it when project works in the IDE but as soon as you build the artifact and try to run that it just straight out refuses to run and does not spit out any errors 😐

I've always felt like a world class programmer after printing a hello world message on screen until now.
People are continuously ranting some technical shit that's completely above my head on devrant.
Fuck you for downing my morale
PS: I'm still in love with it!^_^4 -

Any .net specialist arround hete?
I have an .xml file like bellow
<witd:WITD application="Work item type editor" version="1.0"
xmlns:witd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Visual...">
<WORKITEMTYPE>
. . .
</WORKITEMTYPE>
</witd:WITD>
One of the senior devs is saying that I should validate that xml and load the schema from this xmlns:witd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Visual..."
BUT HOW IN THE FUCKING HELL CAN I DO THAT. I found 0 code snippets that can point me in the right direction.3 -
We have a customer that runs an extremely strict security program, which disallows any type of outside connection to their servers.
In order to even correspond with them via email you must undergo background checks and be validated. Then you sign an NDA and another "secrecy level" contract.
Today they had a problem, I was the one assigned to fix it. I asked for a screenshot.
We already use an encrypted mail service, which runs via a special VPN that has enough layers of protection to slow down a photon to the speed of a snail.
The customer's sysadmin encrypted the screenshot and sent it to me.
I open the screenshot and....
He runs Windows 10, uses Google Chrome and has Facebook's WhatsApp desktop app flashing orange in the tray.

In year 2000, I was 10, Tunisian government had made it possible for middle class families to get cheap computers and pay later. So my dad brought one home.
I played with it then I got more interested in what was inside.
Think of it as a 10 years old with no prior experience playing puzzle with computer parts.
It can't end well.
But the thrill I felt while doing it definitely had something to do with my career.
Hint: I don't do hardware :v -
tl;dr don't, just don't.
A curious little me (12-14 years) just stated using the family shared computer.
And he thought: It's so slow! Maybe I can make it faster, my parents would be happy!
So he looked at this little switch on the back and he switched it from 230 to 115.
Not knowing what he did, he turned the PC on... for the last time.
Smoke, a nasty smell and a loud bang were the last memories left behind.
The parents were not happy.34 -
