Yo dawg, check out my fresh pimped homeoffice!
I have been a developer since I was 13 and this is the first time ever I feel complete :) Wish all of you even a better one than mine!76 -
Preface: My company took over another company. A week ago I inherited their IT.
"IT" !!!! Are you fucking kidding me?!
Their server stood at an ex employees homeoffice. So I drove to her and she had 0 idea about IT. Server was just "Running". I tore that fuck down and saw an aweful lot of Hentai in all home folders.
WTF?!
Not enough, their crm was a makroinfested access table. Shit was protected so I couldn't even edit the makros. The retarded fucktards hardcoded paths to serverside folder \\fuck\you\hard\cavetroll
Just so that server will never see the light of my domain! Damn you? Mothership of sisterfucking dickgirls!10 -
Due to working from home I decided a few months back to invest the money I save instead of keeping it all in my bank account.
About 10-20% of it goes to a long term investing account and the rest into the one I manage actively.
The nice thing about homeoffice is that I can have a lunch break an hour later when the market opens and review my shit, then again checking up on it in the late evening before the market closed here.
Have been playing around with trading for years but never did it with patience and discipline.
After 3 months I managed to reach over 16% profit.
My account is small so it’s not a lot of money but I’m focusing on the % rather than the $ at the moment. It’s a start..
Anyway, thought I’ll share my progress with you guys as some of you probably invest as well..
Im exclusively swing trading, so holding my positions between 1-14 days with no leverage.

Storm outside, our whole office left today at 12 and decided to do Homeoffice. Now I'm coding with the sound of the storm. Amazing :)1

Just had one of the most cringiest HR interview ever. I'm looking for a new job, and yesterday applied for several med/senior backend developer positions and immediately got response from a well known software company.
We schedule a call today 9:00am, so I take homeoffice and wake-up half an hour earlier than usual.
First thing I notice, lady is 5mins late, but okay its morning, we're all humans, so I don't mind it even though some other person might call it a classical sign of disrespect and hangup right away.
First question: Why did you apply for our company?
- Euhhmm cause I'm looking for a new job and I saw your job ad yesterday?
Second question: Why would you like to work at our company?
- Left speechless.. Well I honestly don't know, not really following your company, I know that you exist but that's about it, shouldn't you be telling me this? (*heavy breathing on the other side*)
The rest of interview left me quite uninterested due to initial questions, like what the hell, I can imagine these being alright for interns and junior developers who might be fascinated by opportunity to work for a big and well known company to build their CV, but c'mon I've went through shit already and honestly don't care for who I work for as long as they have interesting projects, are paying me right and have couple small benefits I'm looking for such as homeoffice, gym card etc..8 -
After a very busy week I’m enjoying my Friday evening with a nice glass of Tullamore, a few slices of my medium cooked housekeepers roast and some vintage-ish music videos on the projector.
Because of homeoffice I forgot how good it feels to be exhausted.
Enjoy your weekends everyone🥃
And don’t even think about commenting some shit about Lana, she’s a-fucking-mazing😬13 -
Are you guys rather work from homeoffice or do you like to go to the office?
Personally I found out that I'm almost twice as productive in homeoffice than at the office...8 -
4 a.m. I got a nocturnal leg cramp so bad that I had to reinstall this app. Fuck forced homeoffice.4
-
I understand that some people have trouble with home office.
Well. I don't.
But at least have the fugging frigging respect and
1) answer my bloody questions, especially if I'm frigging nice and make a questionaire and notify you without a shitty meeting.
2) when you ask for an appointment during non working hours.... Then don't be fucking late and especially don't fucking miss it without telling.
3) And don't... Don't fucking give me a bullshit excuse like "yeah, I forget".
At least an honest apology....
I'm currently really close to murder people or call an meeting where I declare that waiting for appointments will be counted as work time.
(hint: this is the fucking sixth time in 4 weeks someone fucked up. And I'm really pissed)3 -
In addition to my first Homeoffice photo, another part of my office: the Geek corner. The Android plate can glow in 6 different colors. It's a selfmade present from a friend of mine. :)1

To be able to work from anywhere on this planet as long as there is internet connection.
Travel the world while working, who else could do that without being told when to be where?2 -
I signed a contract with a company that promised flexible working hours, homeoffice (100%) and no traveling. A month after starting traveling begun. Never had a day homeoffice (even though I only asked for it ONE time. And flexible hours my ass. Should I leave? I mean the payment is ok, not awesome but ok. Plus how those guys work there is a hell of a clusterfuck... Kind of depressed because of this situation :/4

Ugh. Homeoffice tomorrow. Would be awesome if the servers that I need to connect to work on a project wouldn't be limited to our companies IPs only and the VPN connection would be a bit more stable.1

I really like my boss, but...
whenever he is in the meeting it takes instead of 5-10 minutes about 45-60 minutes.
and we have 3 meetings a day... I'm glad I can just keep working now as I am in homeoffice -
Any advice what you guys consider when changing jobs?
I don't like my current job anymore as it is very chaotic, unstructured and lots of people are leaving. However, people think highly of me and I could get a good salary while having an easy+ safe job. With homeoffice allowed, flexible timemanagement...
Now I got this new offer and it is in a field that is more interesting for me but they are only offering the same salary as I have now, without getting compensation for overtime. Homeoffice will be okay but only after 6 months of probation. I only got to know the CEO and he seems to be cool, but i worry that i might have to work overtime regularly. Also I dont know for sure if the processes will actually be better than in my current workplace. I am still in the beginning of my career so i think i shouldnt stay in the current company for too long but of course i dont want to end up in a place that is worse.
How do you guys make sure you are moving to a better place?2 -
I didn't realise how much home office messed me up until I went into the office again... holy fuck, it feels like I just woke up from some nightmare.
I cannot explain it, but I feel a lot better now.2 -
Hello everyone!
Which companies offer permanent HomeOffice for developers or which companies can you recommend because of these or other qualities?
I think it would be interesting for many here.
For clarity everyone could use a similar format:
Company:
Field of activity/tasks:
Working conditions(HomeOffice,Equipment, etc.)
*And what else you can think of*
Thank you so much for the answers!
Have a nice day! -
Why can't some people just go to a quiet environment or use the damn mute button when they are not speaking over Skype?
Honestly, i wonder what some people do while a Skype meeting. According to the sounds they make either chewing on their mic or siting next to a highway. One guy today was taking out his goddamn dishes out of the diswasher udring the meeting, without muting himself. Other people appearently have a mic from the mid 1990's and using 56k modem. MY EARS HURT1
