Okay, so there's this thing I've noticed. Whenever I find another job the old job suffers very hard very soon. So far there were these cases:
- goes bancrupt wthn a month after I left
- the department gets closed due to reorganisation next week after I left
- a sinkhole opens up right under the 14 stores building I left 2 months ago
- and today... 10 minutes before I go to a job interview on my lunch break prod db pulls a failed-hdd-and-all-data-is-now-lost stunt...
Every single workplace I've left suffered a lot. Is this some kind of a superpower? Can I fight evil with it? Should I put it on my cv? Should I let my manager know...? Or ask for a raise? :D6 -
I just started helping a friend write their Java exercises that they have to do over the summer for AP Computer Science. The following code is what I inherited from them, which is a person who just finished learning Java for a year in another class. I am without words.

Still on the oneplus one since 3 years, it's time for a new one.10 -
Q: WHO THE FUCK USES EXCEL FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT?
A: My Product Manager
Excel because she cant wrap her head around using Trello. WHAT THE FUCK!
Some people exist just to make things more difficult for everyone else. Fucking pain in the ass.
This person is one of the most incompetent one I have ever met.
I dont have enough words to express my rage right now.13 -
I am so fed up of operating systems debates.
What is that obsessive need that people have, to prove their choice of operating system is the best.
If someone wants to use Windows cool, if someone wants to use linux cool, if someone wants to use MacOS cool, if someone wants to use Chrome os cool. Just let them use whatever they want.
Don't fucking start a war for that shouting why so and so OS is good and bad.
Just fucking stop it.5 -
So this morning, I was having problems with Explorer.exe. So I did a sfc /scannow to fix it.
After booting, my PC would not boot. I thought I did something to break it. I kept turning it off and on. I was scared that I broke my computer again.
I plugged out my keyboard. It booted.
Then I realized--it was my stupid broken keyboard being weird again.

If you are a developer and the resume you send me says "Certified Web Ninja" on it. I will invite you to an interview. But keep in mind, if you don't show up wearing all black and carrying a Katana, I will throat punch you and send you on your way.10

Fuck yeah.
Last year our government voted out new mass surveillance law through like it was nothing AND with a huge amount of votes in favor and hardly any against. (remember that the government is *supposed* to represent the people of the country)
A few students made a referendum happen, 48 percent of our people came to vote for this.
The first exit poll results are about 50/50!
I'm happy as fuck, damn!
Sorry for this slightly political posts and if this entirely violates all terms, I'll remove it. I thought this fits, though, because of what this new law.15 -
For the Dutch people on here, the new surveillance law in short:
- dragnet surveillance, data retention of normal data is a maximum of 3 years, encrypted data up to 6 years.
- secret DNA database, data retention up to 30(!!) years.
- use of 0days without having to report them to the vendors.
- third parties may be hacked to get to main targets; if my neighbor is suspected they may legally hack me in order to get to him/her.
Cleaning up (removing backdoors etc) afterwards is not required.
- sharing unfiltered (raw) data gathered through dragnet surveillance with foreign intelligence agencies is permitted, even if it's to a country which doesn't have as much 'democracy' as this country does.
Decide for yourself if you're voting (at all) against or in favor of this law, I'm voting against :)
We do need a new/reformed law, this one is just too intrusive imo.34
