Never update the firmware of your delta-fan driven server when your girlfriend is sleeping. Got thrown out of my own room!

Is anyone coming to South Korea for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics?
If you do, make sure to come with Korean Air, Delta, Air France, and KLM. They get to use the new Incheon Airport Terminal 2 soon.6 -
We have phonetic alphabets to clearly describe spellings (d as in Delta, etc.)
What's your best misleading phonetic alphabets? I'll start:
P as in pneumonia
H as in honest18 -
Really want to go here...
Can anyone buy me an economy seat and send to my place via ship? (Air shipping will probably cost $500+) -
Mine: not listening to early warning sings that shit won't work. As a result we implemented the wrong technology and had to roll back after a month in production. Lost some customers data, though we had backups, so it was just a delta of a day or so. Still, not pretty, had a rough night writing scripts at 3am to check data validity after.
I will throw in another one from a colleague of mine. He was running some database migrations and ended up pointing the DB migration tool to production by accident. Oops. That one required a restore as well, if I remember correctly. -
Why do SAMBA network drives have to suck this much? Yeah I understand that compiling to a network drive is probably a bad idea just for performance reasons alone but can't you at least not fuck with my git repo?

I have already started the process of a side project by desiging the software, the architecture, the 3d model, ordered all the electronics of a pet 'smart' stable for my guinea pigs.
Which would automatically feed them and refill their water tanks silently but for me the point on playing around with dozens of sensors for like different water levels, water quality, hay, temperature, water quality (you get the point) ... Building a nice looking web interface or an App to control everything and get a live feed from different angles ( sounds a bit crazy altogether but it looked like a cool project )
I even started a instructable and had a github repo for sharing the source of the app/web interface and the whole micro service based server
I'm still at it and hopefully will start to build the ***ing wood and acrylic parts in the next month's but currently and for the last month's free time ist my archenemy
Keep you posted if you are interested 😀 -
Someone knows about delta printers? I build one with a 8 bit mcu and I'm planning to upgrade to 32 bit. What do you think about it?6

The year is 1999/2000 and my parents bought my brother a PC. Pentium processor, 128MB of RAM and a Sony Trinitron monitor. Sweet machine. Used to play Delta force, Heroes on it. My brother played Civ 2/3, Heroes 3 etc. Lovely times, no worries, no stress, the only pain was the champagne.

Please share your thoughts on Dependabot security alerts on Github, more specifically for NPM packages in package-lock.json.
In 99% of cases I've found them useless as:
- package-lock.json is in the repo, but not in the NPM package (=no value to users)
- most of the updates relate to devDependencies (=no value to users)
- it clutters the git history (and changelog if it is auto-generated) with a batch of patch updates (updated depx to .1, .2, .3) while the only important thing in the next release notes is the delta (updated depx from .1 to .3) (=no value to users)10 -
Iwas exposed to the world of computers when Iwas 6 years old. My dad bought a used C64 and me and my sisters were allowed to play some times. Later my father bought a PC with incredible 166MHz and I was allowed to play on it some times too. Started with tomb raider and when my parents weren't home Delta Force One. Later my father bought a newer model with 450 MHz and I got the old one. At this time he bought a 20GB HDD for me so I can get some more games on my computer. Then the internet came. My father booked ISDN and it was super fast. Since then I loved the world of IT and never stopped to. Later I played around 20000h of Counterstrike Source and came in contact with web development. I started to program with my first love: Java.
Now I love ruby, ts (js), Delphi and sometimes c#
next up is Clojure -
The delta between the HiPPO and LoPPO (“highest paid person’s opinion” and “lowest paid person’s opinion” respectfully) is proportional to the schizophrenic actions of the company.

Is it possible to record the time a thread spends processing only it's code?
E.g. capture sys.ms in thread A -> A is sliced and thread B runs -> B is sliced -> A comes back and captures current sys.ms. The resulting delta of Anow - Ainit includes the time that B spent on the machine.
Is it possible to account for this and get just the time A spent processing?
Is this doable on any other languages?
If it is or isn't, any documentation or papers explain why is appreciated. Google is flooded with "how to time" questions so I'm not seeing any answer for this.7 -
How I create the function of delta? The function have to return to me the formula of this.
