Question for the senior front end web developer here:

If you guys got a project (big or small), do you guys usually:
1. Get a template from another website and modify or style it to suits your need, or
2. Build it from scratch?

I don't find a hoodie or sweater in the devRant swag store. Since winter is almost here, is it possible to see some in the store soon? Cos man, I'll wear the crap out of it!

This is a nice community and this app is a great too. No ads or promotions are also there. So how does app manage financially ,i know there is a swag store but is that enough .As community gets larger, more resources are needed to keep everyone happy ryt ? more servers etc..
Will there be a different model when this expands ?

Forgot all about the swag store. I'm already a ++supporter but I've never ordered anything of the store. So today I've ordered a PHP duck, a separate linux cape and a stress ball (already got the free stickers).

I got sick and tired of waiting (4 years) for the debugging ducks to be re-stocked in the swag store, so i made my own.

Yes, I’m a front end developer and the domain redirects to an Etsy shop because I’m too fucking busy carrying the entire company that i work for on my back to develop my own custom one.

I’ll get around to it once PMO/Design/Marketing ops and Business get around to doing their jobs themselves.

Swag store is awesome :-) - well done !

If only the devRant store was to have a gift to user feature where a good samaritan could purchase some swag for their fellow ranters. #justathought

What if we bundled swag store orders to a particular country so the cost of shipping everything gets spread across?

Although I don't live in a central area of the UK, I'd volunteer to receive multiple orders and then further post them to their final destinations. Posting locally is definitely cheaper, so if the math is done right, everybody wins.

Anyone here from Germany who ordered from the devRant Swag Store?

I've ordered some devDucks and I'm wondering how customs will be handled, considering that the amount I paid is above the 22€ which would pass customs just fine.

That being said, I can't wait to bring them to work and surprise my coworker. We're just 2 devs in the company, so I ordered 2 ducks and a cape to swap them. This way, we always got a duck that knows what we're talking about. :-)

Have anyone in Norway/Scandinavia ordered a devduck/apparel from the swag store and can tell me how long it did take? Want to order one, but not until at the start of next year.
