Never thought an Icon Font library would make a million bucks in Kickstarter. Check out Font Awesome's campaign if you're a fan. They've got some sweet backer rewards.

I just started to use Fira Code as my main font because another awesome user recommended it and I must say, this shit is beautiful. This is what I love about this community. I learn more and get to know more cool shit because of what users say in here than the 5 years I spent at uni. You ninjas rock!

Hmm 🤔 so I need to be able to find a way to display properly to mobile clients as well, the desktop style is shite on my phones... How about going for all-screen and less than 1440px width? I mean there don't exist any phones with over 1440px width and I'm sure that everyone is now using 1920px width on their desktop panels (please keep the portrait desktop monitor setups out for now 😢)... Aight, looks nice now in both desktop and mobile. Awesome!

FRIDAY MADNESS:

As I was so busy coding, one colleague was taking a break and distracts me as he's done with his task. As he approached, I snobbed.

Him: Dude, did you know that there's a generator for all the images in sprite?
Me: really? How?
Him: spritegen.website-performance.org. What's cool about it is that the html and css are already generated just like in font awesome. For example, that i tag...
Me: cool. I wonder dude, why would they use i tag when it makes the text italicize, right?
Him: right. Probably because its used for icons also because icons starts with letter i.

Like any frontend dev working in an organisation, all of what I do are "designed" by an UX/UI designer. Now he fucking has a problem with me and has been going around saying he's gonna resign because of me. (Apparently he said that while walking away from where I was with the intention of it falling in my ears but I was oblivious to it).

On enquiring (to another colleague)why he has a problem with me he said I don't respect him. Perplexed(more curious), I asked what is it that I do to disrespect him and what I found out was out of the world.

I DISRESPECT HIM BY ASKING HIM QUESTIONS ABOUT THE WORK HE DOES.

Awesome, right? Not only does he consider that disrespect but he also takes it personally. WTH?! I'm not supposed to ask why you do a certain things?

Some of my questions -
1. Why are there font sizes of 13px, 14px, 15px right next to each other?
2. Why is there a gap between the sidebar and the content?
3. Why aren't even sizes being used?
Etc.

So much for maturity. He's completely ignoring me, be it on the floor or during meetings. I couldn't care less. It wouldn't take me much to tell him where he's fucking up. The only reason I asked him questions was to understand things better; maybe I don't understand what I find wrong.

I want a font-awesome icon for devRant. Would be nice for mine and others' sites. Any designers around to submit as a suggestion for next version (or for other icon libraries)?

Font Awesome. Stop changing the format. 10 changes/page refreshes and I still don't have the fucking icon. what is it? fa fas or fa-solid or fucking what now?... make your fucking mind up!

Your tagging system sucks too. Finding relevant icons could be much better with underlying tags.

Have I told you that I love Sass? Yes? Well, that's fucking true! Like today I decided to host the used font myself and just include all font-awesome SCSS into my main.sass and saved one <link>. That boosted loading time and user don't have to see those ugly squares while page is loading. I'm truly in love.

Developing an app in Unity, gotta add some icons, my boss tells me unironically:
- "hey, use font-awesome!"

Yeah, right, like I can use HTML tags into unity or go check the specific code for the specific symbol, are you out of your mind?

So I've backed font awesome 5 a while back at kickstarter. I've linked my github account to the repo. Now my mailbox get spamed by their issues.

Question: is there a way to deactivate mail notification for a single repo?
So far i found:
- disable all github mails (nope)
- unwatch the repo (would work, but I just want to disable the emails, as they make up 50% of my daily inbox)

Why tf are material icons so underused and font awesome so overhyped?

Why isn't already a Font Awesome plugin for VSCode where you can look up icons by keywords like in their website?
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that hard to make AND it would be pretty useful.

Yes, I would make it if I knew how.
Yes, I hope I can one day make it but I have been running on 5.5 hours of sleep for the last month. Not good for someone used to around 7.

Has anybody had any success in tree Font Awesome Pro with Webpack?

Okay so i did an internship in Laravel for 6 months. I started there and i had zero experience with it. Later, i started to learn more about it and i realized their Laravel version was at 5.8 and their bootstrap was at 3.4. It annoyed me so much but i wasn't allowed to update it to a better version.

What happened is, i installed Linux on my laptop and had to install some things. I accidentally did composer update and updated the whole thing. I updated it to Laravel 7.4 and i thought, well, that's good right, it will not effect the whole project right? No it wasn't right. I got Teams messages from my colleagues. They normally don't really respond to me, ignoring me but this time, they responded quickly. It was wrong what i've done because the code on the server wasn't working anymore and it was pretty bad they said. So i had to get the last version in Gitlab and i should not do composer update again.

Also, i was annoyed because i couldn't use so many font awesome icons. They all didn't work! I had to make this dropdown menu with an arrow down but even that didn't work, so i used a transparent image to do it because that was my only option to have a good arrow. I wanted to update that as well but nope, not allowed.

Oh yes, i'm not done yet.

They have put so much CSS on the project, that i couldn't even use bootstrap columns. I struggled with that and seriously, no help. The pages were styled really weird and it was dramatic.

When i asked for help, for some PHP code for example, no one responded for days and i was angry about that. Later at the end of my internship, they told me I wasn't the one who was responding and that i should have asked for help and i had to start the conversation. They really just said that? Yes, they did and i'm not happy about that. It costed me some points on my end essay, because they haven't been doing their best.

I wanted to learn more about PHP, but ended up doing all the frontend. I like it, but it's not what i originally wanted to do. So basically, i learned stuff in frontend but almost nothing in backend. It saddens me and hope to get a better internship next schoolyear.

I really had to rant about this, oops.

Thinking of developing sublime plugin that would convert font-awesome 4 icons to 5. The plugin will search for all files with configured extensions and replace the icon classnames. Eg <i class="fa fa-cab"></i> will become <i class="fas fa-taxi"></i>. It wont work for inproper spacing and dynamic icons.
Is there anything already developed?
