Started with learning C.
Made the first big mistake right at the start.
NOTE TO ME:
NEVER EVER SEARCH FOR "C STRING" WHILE WORKING.10 -
My own text mmorpg and it's selfmade Chat system! <3
Yeah it's barebones and has some flaws, but its the first project I set an worked through with a very pleasing result ^^
It's a CLI-Style interface with a command and chat mode, multiple rooms, user descriptions etc.
Some day I want to improve it even further, bring much more functionality in the mix, but first I would have to reinforce the base/core of the program ^^7 -
Perfectly describing my relationship status...undefined special salsa sauce why are you reading this production relationship server mainframe sad error2

This is what I love about fellow devs - they know what's best, you don't need to ask something like "please keep adding xyz to your post so we can see if it...". We just do it. :32

I refused to get into python pretty long but yesterday it happend. I got the py. :')
Coming from Java/Netbeans I tried installing it again (for personal projects), but since Apache took over and Java 10 got released I never seemed to be able to accomplish a clean IDE install.. I gave up while I wanted to turn a current python programmer to java and, again, Netbeans fckd me over. I tried IntelliJ again afterwards but Netbeans seemingly fcked over the whole JDK installation too, so I gave up for real.
Everyone in my vicinity told me about python and it's coolness. I just.. no.
No {}, no semicolons, indentations are relevant... idk. I did not want to, but some part of me still wanted to try it. I want to work in the infosec branche so it definetly should be one of my interests shouldn't it?
So I tried yesterday, installed PyCharm and in literaly minutes (of course with trusty Stack Overflow behind me) I had a Qt based GUI which functioned as a basic webbrowser. I was intrigued. Well, I took like 100 times that time to get a working .exe out of my .py with all dependencies, but with the help of mentioned python friend I also got this to work. Python is cool now, I guess... ;b -
When having to fix parts from an other programmer's code, do NOT concentrate on the small code expected to be wrong, instead read and understand the whole program around it!
Best practice:
1) Why is this code here
2) What does this code do
3) How does the code solve the problem
(just happened to me 😅) -
ESSO Password Manager.
Prepare to cry after ESSO inputs your password in the username-field instead of the password-field the third time while your colleagues are watching...2 -
This last week I have been so excited about Artemis going around the moon. This is the kind of stuff that people need. Stop bickering about bullshit. There is a universe to explore!
I saw parts of the flyby today and it was really really cool. I hope NASA is getting incredible data from this. I cannot wait until we send people there again. Probably better to use robots, but going there in person is cool. -
I just came up with an idea while writing and I can't share it because I really need to trademark it first 😛😂

I often come into heated discussions with my colleague about whats the better programming language so I want to ask you - what's better:
C# or Java (from an overall standpoint)?19 -
Programming languages so rare that they will only help you in your current employment but not in any way or form your future.

It had the biggest impact on my thinking process - analytical thinking is basically burnt into me by now..

Three years in a school for programmers and business education. Primarily Java and some C++. Had to leave and started an apprenticeship in a company.1

Any tips or advice for a CCNA beginner? ^^'
About how to learn the most effective or maybe even something else? :P2 -
Could it be, that we use i for incremental loops because it's an abbreviation for iterator (or increment)? 🤔 Why haven't I though of this sooner?!8

There is always this moment where a family member needs your help by something computer related, sadly I don't have time at the moment of need but after some hours I get to it and "debug". Everytime I debug on my own PC I need like a full day but on a family PC I get done in like 30 seconds and of course they'll ask why I wouldn't have done it earlier if it's that easy 😢

A hyperrealistic military/civilian simulator a la ArmA. Simulating continents, accurate sounds etc. with a easy to use editor for scenarios.
Massive Multiplayer Sessions with hundreds of players while maintaining great performance.
And all of this with the best physics engine you have ever seen 😅2 -

I hate how Amazon is "randomly" selecting orders changing them so they can only be paid with a credit card :/1
