We are making a hardcore dungeon crawler with our little game studio. First time using godot in production, im really excited.
Also have more cat memes.9 -

Oh wait, thats my horseshit-eating coworker3 -
199$ for game maker studio
Naaa i will just use godot thx
1000$ for 3dx max
Naa will just use blender 3d
899$ for Fl studio
We have lmms
Sublime text 70$
Vscode is better.. i will just use that
Adobe illustrator 19$ a month
Nice try we have Gravit Designer25 -
Okay i'm done - YOU FUCKING ANDROID STUDIO MORONS. Being at a high level in C++, I tried to do some android coding. THERE ARE FUCKING NO GOOD TUTORIALS, NO GOOD DOCS, HECK, THE SELF GENERATED CODE OF THE IDE IS WRONG: WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON YOU FUCKING MORONS?
oh wait, let me first import android.widgets.rant;
or was it android.widgets.devrant.rant; or was it android.dr.rant.RantManager;?
Oh wait, I know lets search the docs?
OH WAIT THE DOCUMENTATION DOESNT HAVE THAT.
NOW HOW ABOUT I JUST TRY THE EXAMPLE CODE? WELL UH-UH! YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT YOURSELF WHAT TO IMPORT IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK. ALSO, WHAT FUCKING UP WITH THAT PERMISSION SYSTEM? ITS SO BADLY DOCUMENTED!!!
Oh wait, I'm sure that I have to change something in this file... or was it that other file?
GOD
how dare they have style and design guidelines?
MORONS!
I will resort to implement my app idea in godot, idc anymore... I don't want to burn out because I used the "official high standard" tech.
it definitely isn't high standard and definitely not good. Thank you morons@google
THANK YOU FOR NOTHING
A FRAMEWORK WHERE I NEED 2 DAYS TO FIGURE OUT TO ADD EVENT LISTENERS TO MY THINGS IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE I'D LIKE TO USE.
also, whats up with
AudioRecord (int audioSource, int samplerateInHz, int channelConfig, int audioFormat, int bufferSizeInBytes);
ARE WE BACK IN THE C ERA? CAN'T YOU BE BOTHERED TO IMPLEMENT SOME SIMPLE FUCKING ENUMS????
WHATS THE POINT OF AN OOP LANGUAGE IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE IT LIKE C?
Oh wait I found a tutorial ... First trigger: "java scripts". Second trigger: this guy LITTERALLY ONLY TEACHES YOU HOW TO PLACE WIDGETS ON THE CANVAS. THANKS FOR NOTHING SHERLOCK!
Oh btw: did you know that android studio gives the best error messages?
"Error: illegal start of expression"
NO ERROR MESSAGE - NOTHING!
YOU BETTER USE THE IDE OR YOU GO HOME YOU FUCKER!!!
Oh and btw: if you want to read the best documentation - the code itself YOU GOTTA AGREE TO OR TERMS OF SERVICE!!!! WE DONT WANT ANYBODY TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL WITHOUT US KNOWING!!!!!
THANK YOU GOOGLE FOR NOTHING!
YOU FUCKERS!
thanks godot for *atleast* existing. You are the... last pick i'd pick, but , I have experienced android studio now.
If anybody has any advice on what to use instead, please go ahead. And you better not tell me how good you are at android studio. I DONT CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN IMPLEMENT IN ANDROID STUDIO. I JUST WANT SOMETHING THAT IS USABLE WITHOUT HAVING TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL WHEN DOING *ANYTHING*!!!!

Fuck yeah I love Thursdays! Deployments went well in the office, freelance clients are satisfied as well and I am drunk with my wife... what more can a dev(ranter) ask for?!2

Godot
It's a very lightweight game engine with a lot of features, great community and active development.
(Unity is way too bloated for me since I only make small games as a hobby)4 -
Mini rant ahead:
So just wanted to get something off of my chest in relation to something that continues to prop up constantly in the OSS community.
OSS is not better than proprietary software and proprietary software is not greater than OSS.
Sick of seeing people complain when they see someone using proprietary software like google chrome and the like in comparison to open source alternatives.
We understand that the freedom offered by OSS is clearly better but we should not 'hate' or 'actively avoid' proprietary software.
Key example for me personally is that I use Gamemaker Studio 2 to develop my games and the amount of people who keep negatively branding that choice and tell me to use Godot because it is 'better' and 'open source'
People just really need to respect other peoples choices, if you have something to say on the matter when you see someone using something you may not agree with, sure say your opinion, but don't defend it and go on the attack because other people use differently licensed software.
* And end scene *28 -

I am so fucking done with all these incompetent fucktards!!! Why would you keep a client-brief in secret from your colleagues?! Why on your screwed delusional Earth you think it is perfectly okay if you don’t communicate the changes ahead your team? How could you - microbrained prehistoric dinosaur who petrified to your own semen - think that I can estimate with my time and do my work when you are barely able to think ahead 2 minutes without letting me know the actual scope and deadlines???!!! AND NO telling me the day before NOT GONNA MAKE IT VALID!!!! You failed in life you failed in evolution you played my trust and I don’t give horseshit about your career! Go fuck a hedgehog, eat it and shit out on the same fucking day. Tomorrow a new era starts and prepare yourself as I am hereby vow that I am not going to care any of your bullshit! I vow that every time you come to me with a new task, I will start it WHEN I can and do it between 9 and 17 and if anyone asks I will calmly tell the hard truth about the overbred, human shaped, evolutional dead end you are...5

Why am I such an average ?
It's just a sad realisation. Nobody cares but I wanna send this out there, just to write thoughts.. I am 18 in 3rd year of high school (grammar school so nothing IT related, basically waste of time) and in IT I'm all self taught but I feel like I could be better if I just didn't [something]..
I feel like I wanna learn so many things but when I look at you, it seems like a common problem in the IT sphere so hey, average guy joining the club.
I also feel dumb when programming. I didn't manage to learn C++ in it's entirety because to really accomplish something, you've got so many ways to do it and finding the best one requires deep understanding of the tools you've got at your disposal with the language and I feel like I'm not capable of this(self learn, in school/Uni that's different story).. But many (most) of you are. I've tried many coding challenges and when I got it working, I just saw how someone did it in one line just by layering functions that I've never heard of..
Also, we've got kinda specific national competition here in many fields including IT for high schools.. And the winners always do sometimes like "AI driven Life simulation" or "Self flying drone made from ATMega from scratch with 3D simulation in C# to it" or "Game engine" or whatever shit and it's always from grammar schools and never IT related schools.. They are like me. Maybe someone helped them, I don't know, but they are just so far away from me while I'm here struggling to get the basic level of math for any kind of machine learning..
Yeah I've written Neural Network from scratch in C but meh, honestly it's pretty basic stuff .. I'd rather understand derivatives which we're going to learn next year and I'm too lazy to learn it from khan academy because I always learn something else.. Like processing (actually codetrain started teaching tensorflow so that might be the light for me...) Or VHDL (guys you can create your own chip / CPU from scratch and it's not even hard and OMFG it's so fucking cool , full adder done yay) or RPi or commodore 64 assembly or game development with Godot and just meh..
I mean, this sounds exactly like not knowing what to do and doing nothing in the end. That was me like 6-12 months ago. Now I'm managing to pick 2-3 things and focus them and actually feel the progress.
But I lost track of the original point.. I didn't do anything special, every time I'm programming something, everyone does it better and I feel dumb. I will probably never do anything special, everyone around says "He's still learning he's genius" but they have no idea.
I mean, have you seen one of the newest videos on Google's YouTube channel (I openly hate them, but I will keep that away for now), something like "Sarah story" ? It's about girl that apparently didn't care about IT but self learned tensorflow on high school. I think it may be bullshit (like ALL of their videos ) but it's probably just fancied, not complete lie.
And again, here I am. I now C but I'm incapable of learning to program good which most of you did and are now doing for living. I'm incapable to do anything cool, just understanding what everybody else did and replicating it. I'm incapable of being clever.
Sorry, just misusing devrant to vent a bit17 -
Definitely Godot Engine. One of the greatest and easiest Game Engines I have ever used! Lots of great features and there are getting more and more!
The inbuilt programming language GDScript is really awesome too! It's a custom language built extra for the Engine, which makes it super easy to use and integrate! The syntax is a bit like python but better.
Because it's not as old as unity or unreal engine, it's not as feature rich. But I think that's okay. It allows you to get used to the current existing features, and then heading on to the new ones.
What I really enjoy is that, just as in this community, you can just talk with the creators of the engine. Asking questions, suggesting features and discussing things! They'll answer nearly everything!
Not to mention the graphics! They are really good and are nearly able to compete against Unity!
There's also a visual language you can use. Just like Unreal Engine Blueprints! Never tried it tho...
The scenes system is very easy to understand. You basically have a lot of "components" which you can use in each of your scenes. This also allows for making simple extensions!
All in all, a great engine! If you are a game developer I can definitely recommend trying it out!2 -

I'm a long time Unity3D C# programmer and i mostly build android games for fun. About half a year ago i dumped windows for Debian Linux(fucking love it) but I quickly started to miss my unity3d environment. Unity in a VM doesn't work and the outdated, beta, crash prone linux version doesn't support android so i started looking for an alternative.
I decided to give Godot a shot but moving from a statistically typed language to a dynamically typed one literally breaks my brain. The last couple of hours of reading the documentation pretty much consisted of: WHAT? YOU CAN'T DO THAT! NO. WHAT? WTF IS THAT SYNTAX? oh I think I'm getting it WHAT DO YOU MEAN POINTERS DON'T EXIST!?22 -
I forgot how much i love godot, started a game yesterday and its already mostly functional.
Also im not a pirate irl, just wanna flex my 40k+5 -
Anyone ever get the feeling of wanting to go further with a game project but not motivated enough to do any of the asset work for it?13

Working on photo contest site, no design, no specification. 2 weeks until deadline.
CEO: Deadline is one week earlier, and client wants to have video uploads and automatic facebook share too.
Me: We don't even have a contract and design to work with yet.
CEO: No worries, the contract will be signed by the time you finished the website.
Site done in 1 week, including weekend days and overtime. Production on client's server as asked by CEO.
3 weeks later...
Me: So van you pay the overtime I worked?
CEO: Sorry client not payed and says they don't like the end product. I can't afford to pay you overtime.
2 days later.
CEO: The online department is lossy so you have to work harder in the next month, we have 3 sites to be done.
Me: Do we have the contracts?
CEO: No worries...4 -
Finally Godot Engine 3.0 is out!
Wohoo!
I already have a little game in mind that I want to build after my current project.4 -
Merry 2018 in advance.
If it aint a secret, comment w/ your new years resolution so other lazy fucks can get motivated.
Mine: a 3d game (godot), releasing my data science java libraries, building some kind of robot8 -
sales: we will need a sponsored blog for client XY, can you start working on it?
me: I am really busy I can't do it as soon as next wednesday.
sales: but I promised it will be ready for this tuesday (yes, two days ago)
me: do you have any specification?
sales: what is a specification?
---- Happy Birthday for me ----1 -

Not gonna lie. I’m in the mood to make a game and I’m gonna try it. I think it’ll be fun. Wish me luck!
For anyone curious I’m gonna be using Godot because it’s not bad and It’s not nearly as fat as Unreal and Unity. They’re not bad just not what I want rn.6 -
me: I'll start making the site today. To make sure the project is up and go by the deadline, I need you to send some missing content. Please find attached a spreadsheet (with perfectly tought cella :) ) abot the missing content.
-- weeks go by, several mailing and phoning. site is ready. content zero --
client: why is the site not public yet?! you promised a deadline! I'm nőt paying, if it is not ready by tomorrow.
me: ok just send the content I requested.
-- 2days pass. no content --
client: thats it. i'm not payin'. here is the content ( much mire than designed ) upload it and we are done here!!!4 -
Dear godot editor, i know i havent closed the (, you dont have to remind me 3 microseconds after i typed it4
-
Game development is a nightmare when your first starting out because you tend to neglect on keeping a small book on event notes.
Such as which event triggers what, and what events to turn off when the player starts the game.
You tend to get events that either don't start when player is far into game because you forgot to turn the event trigger on for something much for earlier in the game.
Live and Learn2 -
Oh my god, GDScript is the single biggest piece of shit scripting language I have ever witnessed. It somehow manages to combine the very worst things of dynamic typing with the downsides of static typing, all in one bundle of utter shit
Imagine you have two game object scripts that want to reference each other, e.g. by calling each others methods.
Well you're outta fucking luck because scripts CANNOT have cyclic references. Not even fucking *type hints* can be cyclic between scripts. Okay no problem, since GDScript is loosely based of Python I can surely just call my method out of the blue without type hints and have it look it up by name. Nope! Not even with the inefficient as fuck `call` method that does a completely dynamic-at-runtime fuck-compile-time-we-script-in-this-bitch function call can find the function. Why? Because the variable that holds a reference to my other script is assumed to be of type Node. The very base class of everything
So not only is the optional typing colossal garbage. You cant even do a fucking dynamic function call because this piece of shit is just C++ in Pyhtons clothing. And nothing against C++ (first time I said that). At least c++ lets me call a fucking function6 -
I'm kinda happy that i'm not a unity developer rn.
Tha fuck is going on, unity is introducing a 'runtime installation fee'?
Seriously?
Really makes godot very attractive out of all sudden...7 -
Hey fellow devs, my friend showed me this Godot game engine. Ive spent 15hrs over the weekend building strategy game client which consumes my api server. Ive done a lot! It was easy to understand custom Gdscript which is okay. But before i dig in, i want to know what you guys think about this game engine? Is it going somewhere? Is it good option for indie games? Is it good option for building android/ios games? I need to make my mind 🤔5
-
Ok. I am trying out a new thing. My colleague told me about a technique worth giving a shot. So basically you should ignore the negative things and only focus on the positive ones making your mind shift states and boost your productivity although sometimes really hard. It’s working for me quite well so far, so here’s my two cents on today:
Thank you my dear designer fellow to making all the screens more beautiful than they were already. Big respect for you for not worrying about deadlines and for for inspiring me to be a faster programmer. I knew I can count on you. Being such nice to me leaves me speechless sometimes, but not today. Today I wish you soon get all the anusroses to smell right next to your beautiful face1 -

Why the hell is Unity so bad at Linux, I just created a new project and it crashed everytime. Now I’m using Godot Engine, good things open source and stable.7

All the stackoverflow users recommending jquery plugins for everything (back when I was a noob) It would be so much easier to learn js without them.3

(body.get_parent().get_children())[0].play("open")
I really gotta learn how godot works to avoid doing crap like this3 -
I'm the maintainer of the Godot Engine package in AUR, some users have commented on the package that they would like to see it in the community repo of Arch Linux, but I have no idea how that is done.
Any pointers?8 -
v0.0005a (alpha)
- class support added to lua thanks to yonaba.
- rkUIs class created
- new panel class
- added drawing code for panel
- fixed bug where some sides of the UI's border were failing to drawing (line rendering quark)
v0.0014a (alpha) 11.30.2023 (~2 hours)
- successfully retrieving basic data from save folder, load text into lua from files
- added 'props' property to Entity class
- added a props table to control what gets serialized and what doesn't
- added a save() base method for instances (has to be overridden to be useful beyond the basics)
- moved the lume.serialize() call into the :save() method on the base entity class itself
- serialized and successfully saved an entities property table.
- fixed deserializion bugs involving wrong indexes (savedata[1] not savedata[2])
- moved deserialization from temp code, into line loading loop itself (assuming each item is on one line)
- deser'd test data, and init()'d new player Entity using the freshly-loaded data, and displayed the entity sprite
All in all not a bad session. Understanding filing handling and how to interact with the directory system was the biggest hurdle I was worried about for building my tools.
Next steps will be defining some basic UI elements (with overridable draw code), and then loading and initializing the UI from lua or json.
New projects can be set as subfolders folders in appdata, using 'Setidentity("appname/projectname") to keep things clean.
I'm not even dreading writing basic syntax highlighting!
Idea is to dogfood the whole process. UI is in-engine rendered just like you might see with godot, unity, or gamemaker, that way I have maximum flexibility to style it the way I want. I'm familiar enough with constructing from polygons, on top of stenciling, on top of nine-slicing, on top of existing tweening and special effects, that I can achieve exactly what I want.
Idea is to build a really well managed asset pipeline. Stencyl, as 'crappy' as it appeared, and 'for education' was a master class in how to do things the correct way, it was just horribly bloated while doing it.
Logical tilesets that you import, can rearrange through drag-n-drop, assign custom tile shapes to, physics materials, collisions groups, name, add tag data to, all in one editor? Yes please.
Every other 2D editor is basic-bitch, has you importing images, and at most generates different scales and does the slicing for you.
Code editor? Everything behavior was in a component, with custom fields. All your code goes into a list of events, which you can toggle on and off with a proper toggle button, so you can explicitly experiment, instead of commenting shit out (yes git is better, but we're talking solo amateurs here, they're not gonna be using git out the gate unless they already know what they're doing).
Components all have an image assignable to identify them, along with a description field, and they're arranged in a 2d grid for easy browsing, copying, modifying.
The physics shape editor, the animation editor, the map editor, all of it was so bare bones and yet had things others didn't.
I want that, except without the historic ties to flash, without the overhead of java, and with sexier fucking in-engine rendering of the UI and support for modding and in-engine custom tools.
Not really doing it for anyone except myself, and doubt I'll get very far, but since I dropped looking for easy solutions, I've just been powering through all the areas I don't understand and doing the work.
I rediscovered my love of programming after 3-4 years of learning to hate it, and things are looking up.2 -
The question about which I am curious is that why the Godot Engine is so fast even in low end pc for making games rather than unity and unreal engines?5
-
Everything startest with HTML. I got an awesome book about HTML/CSS and I just started learning and trying out some stuff. At the beginning I got a lot of help from my father but soon I created my own websites! I setup a free webserver and after some time, I met PHP. I made tons of stuff with PHP :)
After about 1 year of creating things with PHP, I learned Javascript. And with Javascript I got into game development. I created some games but I wanted more. So I tried Unity Engine. But... well... It was hard. Then I tried Godot Engine and I finally found a game engine wich I enjoy!
I created a lot of games.
Then in 2016 I met Lua, wich is my favourite language now! (But I didn't do much with it)
Later I also met Node.js but I'm still learning :)1 -
Godot Engine - great open source alternative to Unity, powerful with basically anything you need for game dev and with great community,
VS Community and VS Code for more serious things, because they're pretty pretty powerful and extendable.
Oh and Krita is kinda cool, but I'm not much of an art guy -
Any magic service creating resposive layouts from existing website? God I hate resposive css when there is no unified grid system across the design.2
-
I finally have a server at DO. First time I had to set up a server on my own. Now I have an Ubuntu 14 running apache2, php5, memcached, beanstalkd, supervisor, sftp, vhost-manager, etc...
I really like the whol env and learning but I have to admit, I'd really like to see some GUI for all these things. At least for host management... And honestly I could use some advice on a proper web server setup.3 -
How capable are mobile gpus? I made a small game with godot, and all of the animations are done with shaders, and i get a really good performance, but i want to try a 3d game next and not sure if throwing 3d transformations on a mobile gpur is a good idea.5

Who the twattrumpet invented friday deploy was a good idea? What not who the horsedesecrating dickbadger tought I will have overdue work because this disgraceful human rudiment who has embryonic fluid inside his puffball head instead of brain thinks it is okay tell me sorry man but I forgot to tell you about the bugs you requested for last week. You know what? I will do it but if you dare to disturb me on weekend becausebyou didn't test whenbI told you I will stick your carcass up your ass!!!

Ok. What the flying ligardshit?! Write down the most ridiculous sentences you had been given when you were dismissed.
Today mine was:
They: Nothing got developed till deadline.
Me: *surprised* Okay maybe I overlooked something, please point out what wasn't
They: This and that project was due tomorrow.
Me: *blankly & calmly* You mean the projects that has been deployed on last friday and wednesday?!
They: *still with pokerface* Okay that is not the real reason. The real reason is we get this type of behaviour from you a lot.
Me: *dead seriously* You mean I have to tolerate your false accusations and bow my head with gratitude?!
They: *angryly* See that is what we are talking about, we don't feal like we have chemistry?
Chemistry?! 'The fuck are you talking about??? Come on!! What the goose shit you think we are some high school teenagers in their first month of relationship?! "Family" my ass!
Okay I know it is much easier to dismiss somebody without having to pay the end-of-year premium but come on, don't assume I am a braindead idiot like you!!!
Things ahead:
- Callback the recent contacted companies
- Update LinkedIn
- Find another job
- Find a way to blacklist companies preveting anybody else falling for cimpanies like this one
- If none create one
- If found / Upon creating put them on
If you happen to be able to help me with one/some/all of the above, let me know2 -

Any react native or godot dev here? I just want to ask a question, is macbook air good enough for react native and godot development?
Good enough for react native is it can open xcode, vscode, chrome, and ios simulator at same time without any problems. And for godot, I don't know I never use godot before 😁 but I really want to make a game using godot.11 -
Thinking abut changing game engines entirely form GameMaker (Instability and lack of communication), mentioned in a previous rant I was going to look into Godot and Unity but starting to think it might just be worth building my own engines from the ground up in either C# or C++ (after i learn more of it)...
Just want to know if any other dev's out there have done this and what experience they had with it, or if there are any legible documents out there regarding it?10 -
So I'm a junior dev in a few languages and I recently went to an arcade. I got some inspiration again to work on a small toy of a game. I was wondering what you guys think I should make. I was thinking maybe pinball or something along those lines. I'd be using Godot engine so 2d is the main focus. tell me what you think and I'll post updates as I work on it.1

How do I help a software engineer student be better at developing software?
Background: I have this friend that started university with my young brother, two-or-so years ago my brother finished the career and got his degree while she is still there trying to finish the same career (!), we were looking the chance of changing careers but due to her low grades this is not possible and according to her U's counselor is better that she just finishes the career and gets her degree.
We scheduled a Zoom meeting for Sunday next week, to talk about her pain-points and see what improvement we can chase; issue is that I've never mentored anyone ever in my professional life (my brother from time to time drops a question to me or so, but that's different).
My plan is to either see if she suffers from lack of practice (meaning: she does not write software more often in order to improve her skills) or if it's hard for her to think in abstracts, either way, I believe that the latter improves if you do the former (just correct me if I'm wrong), thus the plan would be to assign her a bunch of programming exercises and have meetings at least once a week during her vacations.
My plan would be for her to actually learn game development with Godot, since the final result is always a game my hope is that having something to show encourages her to do the thing, but, who knows.
Have you ever done something like this for someone with the same issues? What was your experience and what nuggets of knowledge can you lend me?
P.S.: We don't live in the States but in Costa Rica, she does not have to deal with crippling student loans.6 -
Have any of you used Godot Engine to make anything? If so, what was your overall experience with it? I'm thinking of learning it fully to make some game side projects3
-
I need advice:
I'm a developer, I have lots of experience with Java and Python (More on Java than Python). But I'm not a game-dev.
I've been thinking about dedicate serious time to develop a game, like a long term plan, using my free time.
Top down adventure / puzzle game; you know typical go here, get key there, put three gems here, unlock that and so on.
I have two options: Go with Java as I can move easily with it OR use an engine like Godot even though I've never used it before.
So game-devs, any advice on what should be the best approach here?8 -
The disappointment when you find an awesome new framework, only to learn that it uses a custom made variant of Python for logic scripting...
-
Forget, "I'll make the identation and commenting once I finnished coding this". There is no such thing.1
-
Ok this will be silly guys, but this is my last hope, please help me. I am looking for a website "framework" but I can't remember the name. It is commercial, its website is all white using some black slab/serif fonts and it has a side navigation, the purpose of the framework is to easily create websites with full page scroll. it has multiple layouts, really similar to webslides or the slides framework from the guys at designmodo. If you know it or you are the developer behind it, please write link/name in comments thank you in advance!!
-
Got an idea for a game, started learning Godot engine to make it myself. usually the hard part for me is the graphics, but this time I just couldn't get it past the tutorial phase, so I switched to Phaser.js, the same problem there... then Pygame, and Godot again, and so on...
I usually love the coding part, I don't know what was the problem this time, It could be the fact that I switched from 2560x1080(Windows desktop) to 1366x768(Debian laptop)... Got any comments that may help? -
Stop thinking about it. Personally I like to take a long coffe break, go out with friends, cook something, or my fav to learn something completly different, like a new word in a foreign language or some random shit.2
-
I'm thinking on working something with Godot Engine and React to form a platform that allow people to register, categorize and explain exercises
like Wikipedia but for fitness, but with data to use for free7 -

Gonna give in my resignation in a few days with my collegue who is a designer (we have been hunted down). Worst is, we have to keep a good relationship with the boss (complicated) but eventually he will ask us to stay for the rest of the year. And believe me when I say, I really don't want to stay in this fuckshit longer than needed. Any advice on good tactics?2 -
Sorry for the !rant...
Hi gals&guys I am looking for a new collegue (preferably from Hungary) to work with me. When I say collegue I mean a front-en dev/sitebuilder. The company is a new agency with 4 partners (and growing fast) with 1 being our investor too. I am looking here because I think anyone here who "applies" would be a perfect match. Interested? Have a question? Put a comment and will discuss. -

Hey!
I am trying to learn creating games for android (+- 0 android expirience).
I figured I could use GoDot for it's awesome pricing (free, no strings attached).
I've done few minor things, but, to be perfectly honest, I'm fed up of GDscript. I just internally hate it more every single time I touch it, so recently I stopped attempts to learn doing games for droid/iOS.
I'm looking for free alternative to godot, preferably no strings attached, but wahtever... Here is what I need:
- I prefer code, but doing stuff in GUI is fine, but stuff like making level etc, preferably in UI
- C++ derrived syntax (ex. c# etc. c++ is fine too), no BS like some wacky workaround to do basic shit like 2d array....
- easy android/iOS export (like in godot, one day I was attempting to hello world in android and compiling for first time... was quite an advanture)
- objects
- some easy way for restfull apis
Good to have:
- ability to test project without android VM
- observer pattern (signals/slots)
I don't care what structure it's made, for me milion of scenes on one screen was extremly coutner-intuitive but meh, whatever. As long as it's possible to learn, it is fine.
Can devranters help, please?
Thanks,
peace.16 -
So I was writing some text and from time to time it moves me to beginning of line, but I am dumb and miss keys sometimes. I was trying to write fast, click something wrong and bam - fucked my text.
But actually fucking not, there is some shitty bug on my Manjaro machine for sure and usually hard to reproduce (happens in Firefox at messenger, libreoffice at writer) and now on fucking godot after two seconds it moves me to start of line every fucking time.
I am not even sure if it is just Manjaro stuff, because I don't remember if it happens on Windows, too -
Okay so I calming down now. All is well. Great now I have iphostor syndrome! What will come tomorrow?! I can't wait... 26s till I can rant. now
