This one is for devs and gamers.
But first some background story.
My girlfriend is special. Not just generically lovey mush mush special. She is 1 in 100 more accurately 1 in 10000. She was born with a rare Congenital Heart Defect {CHD}. Called Truncus Arteriosus or TA for sake of brevity. TA's main thing is the two main arteries going into the heart are fused together and never seperated at birth. It's bad news. There is no cure for this kind of thing. Simply repairs that happen over the course of life.
So here is me. Desperately trying to find a way to get the word about this and the 40 other types of CHD out there in the world. I thought. "What if I make a game..." Not based around the medical jargon but on a level people could understand. I spent the better part of the last six years attending appointments with her and still don't get it. What I do get is her Emotional state. How her CHD causes her to think and feel.
So here is the pitch.
The game is about a girl who is diagnosed at birth with a CHD. She is now in her 20's and has to undergo an open heart surgery to repair the defect. The day comes. She goes under but when she wakes up she find herself in a final fantasy style environment. This new world has a darkness cast over it. She is unknowingly the hero of this world and she has to face off with multiple bosses of varied degrees of evil.
Then after beating these bosses she really wakes up from the surgery. Waking up to the realization that the world she saved was herself. And all the bosses were manifestations of her own internal feelings. Depression, anxiety, hopelessness, Denise, desire and so on.
I would sell this game with the caveat that 2/3 of all profits get split between the Adult Congenital Heart Association and Project Heart. As those are the two main organizations that deal heavily with creating standards of care and raising awareness for CHD survivors.
Thoughts?
Note: I am still learning game dev. This is an eventual goal for me.33 -
I played skyrim, and i thought yes.. i want to make that...
and now i am a very successful CTO and cofounder of a video game startup thats blooming and already made 7 figure profits
no, no im not, i ended up making websites for very little money...7 -
Any code I make for clients is under a strict license unless specified otherwise. It's a straight forward license pretty much stating that they can't sell it or claim it as their own. I've had a few clients break that license but one stood out. I had made a piece of software that cost her over $2,500 due to the amount of hours that went into it. The transaction went along smoothly so there was nothing to be alarmed about. She came back for more work about 6 months later and I decided to do some checking up on her to see how her business was going. Immediately smack bang on the home page was my software being sold for $30/month. Needless to say I was outraged. She said there was no talk of a license which I responded with pulling out the contract that she signed where it explained that signing the contract meant she was in agreement with the specified license. 2 months after this started, I'm being awarded any profits made from said software along with her closing down the website. As much of a bitch as she was, it wasn't worth my time trying to get more out of her.5

Can we ever have a truly democratic and uncensored Internet?
I am writing this in irritation and anger as I read a story headlined " Apple CEO backs China’s vision of an ‘open’ Internet as censorship reaches new heights"
Appearantly "Open Internet" as the Chinese Government understands it is, "you can say whatever you want as long as we like it". And Apple being the ass-kissing, 730-million-customer-seeking, co**suckers that they are is only happy to comply. They even removed 674 VPN apps from the Chinese version of their App Store last year to comply with government rules, stating "We strongly believe that participating in markets and bringing benefits to consumers is in the best interests of folks there and in other countries as well, We believe in engaging in governments even when we disagree.”
That was Cook by the way.
Thats two fucking contradictory statements rolled into one!!
Anyway, I know private companies are well within their rights to do what they want to make profits. And I understand Apple might not be at fault totally. But its just so frustrating... :-(
The Net Neutrality repeal in the US, this, the Aadhar shit in India and lots of other stuff thats been happening around the world, that just blatantly undermine Civil Rights and freedom makes me imagine that only a bleak future sits on horizon. Almost Orwellian.
If only people would just realise and revolt a bit... probably we would have a different future then..
I hope I am wrong and this is just the pessimist in me speaking.14 -
I got a crap raise — lowest I’ve ever gotten anywhere, and well below inflation — despite busting my butt, having somewhat better health and therefore productivity, etc.
I complained to my boss about it, and said it was insulting. He said that direct managers have zero say in raises, and instead it’s entirely up to execs and HR. Makes sense, since nothing makes sense at this company.
Anyway, he apparently talked to his boss, who talked with his boss, who talked with the execs and HR, and they decided to give me a raise on my raise, a whole $1k/year more, all the way back up to the usual insultingly-low 3%. Yay.
Their reasoning?
“Money is tight.”
The last all-hands?
“Record profits! Record sales! Record numbers across the board! And most of all: record profits! Give yourselves a round of applause for making this all possible!”
Money is tight, eh?
I hope they get smushed by a meteor, given a snuggle-struggle by a roving Somali gang, or kept warm for the rest of their lives by another Hawaiian/Californian wildfire.14 -
Big boss: Last year we had much more revenue and profits than our expectations, and this success is thanks to all of you. Thank you! You made an excellent work! Impressive!
Some employee: Can we all get a raise?
Big boss: Wtf that question again? No way!9 -
Life as a homeless developer.
I'm a lil brainsick but homelessness makes you that way.
I started writing software as a hedge against an old injury i had from my teen years. I have a unique condition leaving me with limited use of my hand as such any jobs like cashier call center and they like are of limits to me, i can't hold change because my hands don't bend flat, and to much typing is excruciating. Therefore being adev should get the most bang for the buck that I have left. Ive been doing this for 12 years. Well it's all bullshit and unicorns. I can't get a job to save my life. All i get is calls from recruiters wanting a full stack retard. I'm an erlang developer for about 5 years, c# php no i can't do Photoshop or frontend gay as colors because it's a different skillet. Oh but trumpy says we're at the lowest unemployment ever, ya because we're all homeless and companies are still looking for unicorns, they don't exist just like the fake jobs which is the real fake news. In reality if a company wants you its because their dev left and you are to fix their broken shit, which never worked in the first place thus cannot be fixed besides I'm not a plumber. In my opinion many companies nowadays are run by liberal sjw children who don't value your time but want the product now, spoilt. Recruiters are the worst, gimme money because i touched your resume. I'd rather just kill myself than try to appease some fucking retarded children. Its so awesome to live in a tunnel while my skills entropy while i have 160 self published github repos, know many programming languages and be told your have no value. its those same children that dont understand the flow of money or value loyalty, claim we have all these jobs but no skillid employees, so they can bring in more visa overstayers, underpay them and claim record profits, the more you pay forieners my countries money the less there is to go around in the society leading to disenfranchised people like me, and you wonder why there's so many shootings in il. How long can i endure homelessness before i start becoming a criminal? Soon i will have no other option. You employers had a choice but I'm going out with a bang.25 -

Freelancing sucks. "A good developer told me this should take a couple hours." Or "I need an Uber like app with built in payment and social integration. We have a $50 budget and it shouldn't take more than a day or two to build." Or "I need a simple game built. Should work on Apple and Android. No budget but we could work out a share of profits." Really wish I had a real job...8

Who decided it was a good idea to use this as a desktop PC's adapter?
Yeah lets change the kind of cable you need to power on our pc to one that apperently nobody sells. Profits guarenteed.4 -
In this company we hire consultants to manage consultants Who spend their days in meetings with other internal consultants.
Wonder why profits are down, we need more consultants!1 -
MARKETING IS A MENACE FOR SOCIETY and a large waste of time and resources.
Imagine that for some very stupid reason people were allowed to steal cell phones from unsuspecting victims and sell it on open market legally, tax invoices and all.
One could create a business like this. Steal some lad's brand new $600 iPhone and sell it for $280, because why not?
That is marketing. A company goes and makes a phone for lets say $180. Add in taxes, shipping and development costs, and we get to $300. Put some real nice profits on top (let's say 40%) and we get to $420.
The last 180 are the cost of marketing for society.
Today some stupid marketing conmen goosesteps into my lab and says that we must use Tensorflow and in-memory databases and multicloud redundancy and, I kid you not, "profound learning".
WE HAVE A FREAKING LOGISTICS OPS APPLICATION.
"We are putting it on the brochure, those technologies are set to sell well in our core market, and improve employer-branding" says the conmen.
A request for a feature is one thing, a request for an whole other technology because some snake-oil salesmen read the term in some clickbait rag and thinks that some starry-eyed moneyhead will pay extra because the brochure says "NOW WITH 2X MORE TECH!" is just an assault on society.8 -
alright, i give up
i'm just going to have to work the rest of my life
the government takes nearly half of everything you do anyway.
income from your saas? taxed.
risked and stressed earned profits from intraday trading? taxed.
money chilling getting interest in a savings account? taxed.
your 50+ hour work week salary? taxed.
but don't worry, houses start at an affordable 500K

According to my doctor and chiropracter I'm burned out right now.
But I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. But my concentration and productivty have been gone for a few weeks now.
I mainly work alone and I'm currently trying to complete 4 projects. But I just can't seem to get it done anymore.
I know that when I'm in my peak I would only need 2 weeks for it. But I have been trying for 2.5 months know and getting nowhere.
Not really where the problem originated but probably with the ever changing specs and my main client that hasn't paid in 5 months. But he accounts for 80% of my profits, but the internal politics of the coperate stuff is making stuff hard.
Not really sure how to go from here yet, need to finish this but can't focus. Can't hire someone since my reseveres are gone and I can't take a holiday and relax because of the money and the voice in my head that says you have to get this done.
But the feeling of wanting to work but not getting anything done, like walking into a mental wall. Makes me wanne run into a real wall head first. Stupid body listen to reason so we can go on a holiday and relax!3 -
A few months a couple of my colleagues, a business consultant and a developer, worked on a big project. The project capsized because the client is an A-hole and the developer was way over his head.
To save the project I was brought on board. The entire code base was a fucking mess of duplicated code. Shortly after, the developer called in sick with stress, simply because the whole thing was too much.
Fast forward to now; we just launched. The client is expressing concerns about the quality of the work because of the bumpy road (rightly so). I try to explain why my way of doing things is better, but to "paint the picture" I had to compare my approach to my predecessor. This results in the business consultant shooting me down, right in front of the client.
I fucking saved your job, your project, and about $1M in profits. I'm allowed to tell the story of why my incompetent coworker messed everything up.
I'm so done walking on egg shells because some just don't realize they are not cut out for software development.2 -
kinda long but please read (skip to the bullets if you're lazy):
hey dR. I stumpled across a search engine that aims to help the environment. it's called "Ecosia" and it will plant a tree for every ~45 searches you make. just think, one stubborn bug could make you the reason for a new forest! I'm not sure if it's legitimate or not, but apparently it uses 80% of its profits to plant trees, and makes that profit from ads. is it safe to use? I'm not sure.
here is what you should know (some are based on claims by ecosia and aren't proved, but probably true):
- they plant a tree for about every 45 searches you make
- they are able to plant trees by using money from ads
- they "respect privacy"
- they're "fully transparent"
- they're a "social buisness"
- [I hope this isn't a turnoff] the search results are powered by bing
- since 1.9, vivaldi has included ecosia as one of the preset search engines (I'm not sure if it's the default)
- it has opera, firefox, and chrome extensions
thanks!9 -
I honestly maintain a positive opinion that almost (again read almost) all devs are not inherently evil. Those who are made do those autoplay vids were probably asked by management, the game devs at EA are forced to use Frostbite which isn’t suitable for everything, like RPGs, and Apple devs aren’t trying to maximise profits by limiting so much to the consumer world (e.g the bloody XCode license), but are forced in by this corporate model.
A lot of shit is given to devs and sometimes I think it’s undeserved. In their shoes most people would too go against their moral compass if it meant that they won’t lose their jobs. I’m sure when battlefront was in the works it wasn’t the devs that came up with that whole shitstorm model.2 -
Hot Take:
Subscription based products are exactly why we don't see major break-throughs in software anymore.
*** I am warning you, don't mention AI in the comments, I am gonna fucking lose it. ***
Tell me one thing, If you spent thousands to create a product that you now have a good subscriber base on, why would you invest money into making another? Why wouldn't you just consider improving the product at hand and selling it to more people to create additional profit?
In the 90s we used to get any software on CDs/DVDs and you actually got to own it. Meaning that the company can only take money from you ONCE and never again (almost). This also meant that the companies knew that soon they'd have to come up with something else that will make them money, thus them creating new software every couple or so years, some even creating ground-breaking software.
But then, there is thing called MONOPOLY.
We will never get another music app than Spotify or Apple music, because they are just too far ahead. They're built on subscription model.
You can probably think of more examples of great companies building great products and moving them to subscription model and therefore never creating another software, because frankly, why take the risk to lose money when you can gain more money by improving the product at hand?
We will never get the same frequency of good games coming to market from established companies like RockStar. Why should they bothered to make GTA 6 when they can sell millions of worth of Shark Cards every month and rake in the profits?
Subscriptions have totally killed off software creativity and motivation for devs/companies to create great software.17 -
I had the old "got this great product I've developed, but can't afford a website, could you do it in exchange for a percentage of profits?"
Look, it's your product, I have had no say in its development, or quality or how you market it etc. I do websites and the website will do exactly what you want it to do. I couldn't give a fuck wether you sell one or a million. It's not my risk. Pay me for a site and I'll do it.3 -
A Rant that took my attention on MacRhumors forum.
.
I pre-calculated projected actual overall cost of owning my i5/5/256 Haswell Air, which I got for $1500.
After calculations, this machine would cost me about $3000 for 3 years of use.
(Apple Care, MS Office Business, Parallels, Thunderbolt adapter to HDMI, Case... and so on).
Yea... A lot of people think it's all about the laptop with Apple. nah... not at all. There's a reason Apple is gradually dropping the price of their laptops.
They are slowly moving to a razor and blade business model... which basically is exactly what it sounds like - you buy the razor which isn't too expensive, but you've got no choice but to buy expensive additional blades.
I doubt Apple is making much money from laptop sales alone... well definitely not as much as they were making 5 years or so ago (remember the original air was about $1800 for base model, and if i remember correctly - $1000 additional dollars to upgrade to 64GB SSD from the base HDD.
Yes, ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR 64GB SSD!
Well, anyways, the point is that Apple no longer makes them BIG bucks from the laptop alone, but they still make good profits from upgrades. $300 to go to 512GB SSD from 256, $100 for 4GB extra ram, and $150 for a small bump in processor. They make good profits from these as well.
But that's not where they make mo money. It's once you buy the Macbook, they've got you trapped in their walled garden for life. Every single apple accessory is ridiculously overpriced (compared to market standards of similar-same products).
And Apple makes their own cables and ports. So you have to buy exclusively for Apple products. Every now and then they will change even their own ports and cables, so you have to buy more.
Software is exclusive. You have no choice but to buy what apple offers... or run windows/linux on your Mac.
This is a douche level move comparable to say Mircrosoft kept changing the usb port every 2-3 years, and have exclusive rights to sell the devices that plug in.
No, instead, Intel-Microsoft and them guys make ports and cables as universal as possible.
Can you imagine if USB3.0 was thinner and not backwards compatible with usb2.0 devices?
Well, if it belonged to Apple that's how it would be.
This is why I held out so long before buying an apple laptop. Sure, I had the ipod classic, ipod touch, and more recently iPad Retina... but never a laptop.
I was always against apple.
But I factored in the pros and cons, and I realized I needed to go OS X. I've been fudged by one virus or another during my years of Windows usage. Trojans, spywares. meh.
I needed a top-notch device that I can carry with me around the world and use for any task which is work related. I figured $3000 was a fair price to pay for it.
No, not $1500... but $3000. Also I 'm dead happy I don't have to worry about heat issues anymore. This is a masterpiece. $3000 for 3 years equals $1000 a year, fair price to pay for security, comfort, and most importantly - reliability. (of course awesome battery is superawesome).
Okay I'm going to stop ranting. I just wish people factored in additional costs from owning an a mac. Expenses don't end when you bring the machine home.
I'm not even going to mention how they utilize technology-push to get you to buy a Thunderbolt display, or now with the new Air - to get a time capsule (AC compatible).
It's all about the blades, with Apple. And once you go Mac, you likely won't go back... hence all the student discounts and benefits. They're baiting you to be a Mac user for life!
Apple Marketing is the ultimate.

TL;DR: Stop. Hating. On. Ads. Here are 5 reasons why:
1. "No one likes ads"
I love seeing *good* ads before I watch a YouTube video. Or I looked up videos that YT recommended because they sounded fun and they were fun:
- Coke - Hey Brother is an amazing and touching short film
- Fressnapf (="food bowl") had an incredibly enjoyable "things you didn't know about cats" video I clicked on purpose and it was good.
- I found JetBrains through ads (free for me, student perks. But tbh I use atom)
and I could name more.
2. What are the alternatives?
I know there are some non-profits and that's cool but you wanna be paid in your job, right? So ads are why Facebook (I know, Facebook isn't enjoyed here but), YouTube, stackoverflow, etc. Wikipedia asks for a few million dollars of donations each year because they don't run ads. Smaller businesses can't do that really. Hell, even codepen has a "sponsored" section. Imagine you would have to pay for all of those services.
3. "Manipulation"
isn't a bad thing unless you abuse it. I manipulate you when I say that I love codepen in the same way an ad does. No one forces you to use a product or watch an ad (you can look away and often times skip).
4. Adblock
What if everyone did that? Adblock blocks happened a while ago and the war between adblock and ad-senders is still ongoing. The moment you see an ad, you are using/watching etc something which the creators thought is worth making money off. If you don't think so, leave the site. I am an adblock user but if the site politely asks me to disable it and I enjoy the content - I will disable it with pleasure.
5. Targeted ads
Yes. The internet is a huge data-crawling piece of shit. But there are many more questionable or even dangerous ways of data-harvesting online. I am glad to see ads I like and not the ones my sister might like. Some services allow you to disable personalized ads. Or use vpn if you really want to.9 -
Take me into the organization as a dev
tell me that I'm supposed to bring ideas and tell you how to improve and what's required
I do that
You ignore me
You expect ultra performance and good profits
GO FUCK YOURSELF7 -
seeing questions like "finding the Longest Substring Without Repeating Characters" and being unable to find answer for hours make me question myself as a developer and wanna leave the tech world entirely.
And i am the dev who reduced an app size from 64mb to 27mb and rewrote the entire payment stack for a 10million user base company :|
DSA and competitive programming is seriously a bullshit. The world runs on fancy buttons and screens, and grabbing user's attention should be the ultimate goal to get profits. nobody should be learning this aweful stuff anymore. We are storing the open source and stack overflow content below the oceans and glaciars for a fucking reason!, so that our future gen could use those stupid knowlege without recreating the wheel
Why do we have this inferiority complex component in our life? do foot doctors also feel low for not able to understand heart or the working of eyeballs? they all are doctors to us, and all are equally appreciated by peons, HRs, receptionists the owner and even his freaking colleague doctors and seniors!!
But here we will be judged by a stupid "coding interview" for the role of a dev . the interviewer will be laughing at me for not solving a trivial problem with strings, as if I am seeing those bloody strings for the first time. I will be like some peasent to him, asking for more wages while portraying myself as some unqualified filth
FUCK this SHIT22 -
I think companies are not going more and more woke but they are appeasing to the crybabies so their profits won’t diminish in the long term.
So they are doing something worse, knowing the demands of these highly offended crowd are bullshit but they prefer to look like they agree with them, so some retard do not start a twitter thread about how github supports slavery by naming default branch master.
In the meantime, this appeasement emboldens and make those children bolder demands, like a baby wailing inside a mall to force parents to buy a candy.12 -
Motherfuckers can't even create a simple login feature.
Lmao this promotion driven faggots are dominating the product thinking they'll commercialise it and earn profits.
Why is this hilarious? Because they are building this product for past 3 years and yet the login feature is not functioning.6 -
Reasons to NOT be a dev sounds rather negative so I'd like to propose 3 things that you need to BE a dev as to frame it in a positive light:
- When a problem peaks your interest you want to solve it, you may even be obsessed by it.
- You enjoy learning, not necessarily enjoy school, just enjoy learning new things (even better if it's by your own means)
- Failure may get you down, but you learn and don't give up until you have exhausted all paths to success.
You may need other skills like math, logic and reasoning abilities, being able to handle deadlines, attention to detail, and cope with stress. I've seen people being crap at all of those and if they have the former 3 they, in time, will hone the others enough to make them a productive dev.
No need to be a 9-9-6 code monkey willing to be squeezed by Big Corp for massive profits and a low salary or a 1337 purist coder that only focuses on the crafting side of developing software. That may make you a great coder but not a well rounded developer or individual. Remember, you program machines but you are NOT one.10 -
So the little tech company startup that my mates and I was about to establish was closed and disbanded. Only because they were all following me, my technical expertise and not that they decided it would be in their best interest. This only happened when the Whatsapp group only started making noise when I made the noise.
So when I declared that I was leaving, they couldn't operate without me. LOL, effin sheeps and here I thought we'd all be partners working together and sharing the profits. Luckily I dodged the bullet.
Guess I'm going solo again. Hard to find people who we can click together and work together passionately with profits, y'know? Le sigh.1 -
This morning i received an email from the boss reporting their record breaking profits for 2024 by now
1.8B €
Then for other subprojects
27B €
21B €
Etc
All net profit. More than about 130B € profits just in these first 5 months of 2024
This made me realize
My 17€ an hour (GROSS income not even NET) Is pennies. Im working to literally make someone else rich
I gotta switch sides and code some crypto coin to scam people for millions asap and see how its like living like those bosses for once14 -
So I just released my first official app which was a mobile charity solution and platform for all ethical and morally sound non profits appearing on Google via its search and map API to receive funds via PayPal. We integrated paypals android sdk and launched but not even a day in Google Kansas and removes the app saying that we were not compliant with their payment policy even though the 503 exempt IDs were represented in that they stated that in that building needs to be used and Android pay. We attempted to use Braintree payments and they made up some mother excuse now the donation Clause recently was updated to cut 30% from each payment making us by far the most expensive Channel 2 donate. Does anyone know of a work around or solution I could use ? Popmoney ? Maybe...I been reading up on their service and its seems feasible...7

Over the past five years in the company I work, I've seen profits drop and headcounts drop. I must say there's no particular reason for it other than globalisation. Yet I see that the number of high-end European imports in parking lot has jumped by 10-12 at least.
I guess globalisation doesn't affect ever body equally!
Capitalism is a wonderful con-cept indeed.2 -
Just someone finally believed, that I can do great things.
When everybody else didn't. Family, friends, teachers in university.
And some man from another country, from internet, just said "Come work with me, let's create startup"
My knowledge was poor, but enthusiasm was as large as Satan's dick.
Everybody just need someone, who believes in you.
Two years later we finally have profits. And we still do our best to make app the best. Because being a coder isn't about money. -
I just got off the phone with an interviewer. His startup wanted someone who has done work with other companies.
I've only ever done projects for non-profits and social enterprises up until now. The hiring managers don't even get to a review of my Github code before saying 'No, thank you'.
Really frustrated right now.3 -
How to Recover Lost Crypto Funds from Fake Online Brokers - Contact OMEGA CRYPTO RECOVERY SPECIALIST HACKER
OMEGA CRYPTO RECOVERY SPECIALIST is so Genuine and the best.
My name is Manuel. I'm from Swiss live in New Orleans. I fell victim to a fake online crypto broker with my investment of $428,000. The broker promised me significant profits and I was initially successful in trading, which built trust with the broker. However, I soon noticed suspicious activities and inconsistencies in the broker's behavior. Eventually, the broker disappeared, taking my funds with them. This experience left me feeling frustrated and helpless, unsure of how to recover my lost funds. I began searching for solutions online and came across Omega Crypto Recovery Specialist. They successfully recovered 90 percent of my funds and I'm grateful. Without the expertise and resources of Omega Crypto Recovery Specialist, I may have never recovered my lost funds. Highly Recommended.9 -

I get anxious when I try to learn new things.
I'm not even sure how to describe it. Low self esteem? Low confidence? I dunno.
It feels like stage freight, but there's no audience or stage, it's just me and my computer.
No one really ever watches me, or judges me or anything.
I guess I'm a bit self emasculating because I don't really have a reason for feeling ashamed for trying out something in private.
But I feel that the fear, the stress is very distracting and it's limiting my progress.
Now, there's this project I'm rewriting in my company that I'm taking pride in and think that it has the potential to actually increase profits.
The stack is way better, it's visually better, the load times are better, the product is easier to access and try out, bla bla bla.
I guess I never felt truly proud of anything I've ever done in any company, most of what I did felt like grunt work.
But this one is actually a very well designed improvement.
So I'm hoping that this will be the excuse for not needing to prove myself anymore so that my mindset will be something like:
so what if I abandon another side project?
so what if I publish a game that looks like shit?
I may fail at newer projects, but I did win at that project I did in my company, and it wasn't a victory just because I say so, but also because my coworkers and bosses do too.
I don't know what else could help at this point.2 -
unrealistic dream :
in my 40s, being cto of a market leading product in its v10 stage, whose v1 i created from scratch. me doing nothing except creating the best remote work hustler culture for the company .
i will be making both : the topmost and bottomost engineers/managers give ppts and talks of product that they created, ll system and hl system designs and the decisions that went into it
i also want some powerful management/ ceos as friends, that drive our boat to greater heights and generate tremendous revenue+ fundings + profits
----
realistic dream :
to keep being SE1 (or at worst SE2/tech lead) in a company, do 4-5 hr non impactful work per day and earn 3x the inflation as am doing now. plus somehow get a lottery or something once in a lifetime , that is worth 100x my current income so that i could build a home and 2 cars and a children fund
dev is not a great thing to be dreamt about, but it certainly paves way for a happier and healthier lifestyle if done right -
By looking at the prototypes and technical ideas which I fail to implements due to various reason , I got an idea.
I got an idea to have a kind of grave yard where people can bury their fail prototype and technical ideas and other people can dug them for inspiration or profits.
As the saying goes "One man trash is another man treasure."
I hope this idea of making a grave yard will not be "an actual fail idea"5 -

AI can only take off if the average gaming video card can do AI calculations
which means it can't not happen
it also means that AI won't be centralized but will be self-hosted and we will have personal ones (which I think is superior for other reasons but I digress). no totalitarian skynet state will happen. they can't make it
currently these GPU companies are making separate GPUs for gaming and AI. their AI profits are 90% of their revenue, gaming under 10% so they're ignoring their gaming customers. but the people buying these AI cards are not the ones innovating. the innovators are using home GPUs. the tech won't get there until home cards can host AIs. otherwise you only get innovation to the level home cards can churn it
the lizards need your ingenuity. they can't do a creative thing themselves. all their money be damned. you have to give people access to the tech, the data, or they won't build for you. and these lizards love to hide information. but that just won't do! you can't innovate for them unless you have the information... which I'm using as a metaphor for gpu cards that "know" how to do AI math and do it well. no moat. they need the ingenuity too much and can't trade. funny22 -
how does it feel to reject a company when :
- its in your own hometown and offering remote work (whereas your current company is in a different ,v expensive city and is asking for relocation)
- its offerring a 60% hike on your current salary (whereas your current company is asking to relocate therefore a 40-50% cut in savings)
- is a major mnc with blasting profits and known for never making layoffs (whereas your current company is not even a unicorn)
i just wanted a 70% hije instead of 60 coz i have heard of work stagnation, government job like culture and poor appraisals in this org. however my current company, even though not being a unicorn has shown to offer great salaries ( to sr employees though) so kinda hopeful there too.
but yeah, feeling like a shit who missed opportunity to get bought in gold8 -
Man i realy need to get of my windows host.
My productivity takes a nosedive whenever im on windows idk why.
I'd love to use linux fully but my fav game Overwatch has shit performance running on linux.
So the best solution would be to pass through my gpu to a windows vm for gaming.
But that would require a new gpu for the host system as the ryzen 7 1700 does not have a gpu.
I dont have any experience with passing thtough gpus. But could i make 2 vms that acces the same gpu, ofc not at the same time. So that i could have a gaming vm and maybe use another linux vm if i wanted to do something which profits off gpu acceleration.11 -

If Company A owns company B & C. And profits from Company B were used in the incorporation and development of Company C.
Can company C list company B as a sponsor and partner along with the other sponsors? Or will that be automatically established if they're under the same parent company?
company B and C are listed and registered as independent companies and provide different services but both provide internet services.1 -
I'm looking for a licence
I'd like to publish open-source projects with a licence to the extent of "free without restrictions for noncommercial use forever, contact me for anything else", the idea being that if you intend to make a profit you should care enough to email the authors of complicated things your business relies on and agree on a fee or share of profits.
I'm unsure how to handle pull requests. Asking for right to relicence the patch could be an option.
do you know a licence with similar ideas?6 -

Someone in a thread once suggested toppling KFC (a joke of course)
But really, think about it, topple KFC? Why? Everyone knows Chick-fil-A or Wendy's will replace them one day anyway.
Join the "fresh never frozen" rebellion today.
The colonel is some fucking confederate-type anyway.
Clearly KFC appears to be part of the giant commie pinko modern slave state.
If they were real homies they'd sell grape drink.
But do they?
No.
Because it's all about them profits.
They want to be Master.
What's next we're all gonna be forced to wear chicken suits and stand in line begging for tendies while praising a giant golden idol of colonel Sanders like some 2021 throwback to an Aztec god?
Probably Human sacrifices after that. It's an old ritual. When civilizations (we live in a society) run out of meat what do they eat?
Soylent green is people.
Finger licking good.
Praise Sanders. (And please don't sacrifice me next Mr. Sanders! Ill work harder at this writing thing I swear!)7 -
i was watching a video on how whatsapp can't make enough profits coz its free and even though its a clear lie (the cartel money made by selling user data will obviously not show up in legal books), i had a thought. can any good consumer software be ever kept free for usage?
Say i made a very awesome chat app. it has 0 bugs, it does the basic tasks of sending /receiving data and media correctly and do not require any maintenence .It also is optimising a lot of cloud cost by keeping user data in their own devices and only transmitting data on triggers.
i still would require a server to keep the trigger architecture alive. and all the servers in the world are maintained by for profit corporates which will charge a premium for their services. so free products are a fallacy as someone is paying for it. it will be an investor, a different business or we the consumer (either directly as subscription , or indirectly via ads or personal data)
So i guess this realisation is going to hit soon to a lot of tiktok and insta influenza kids5 -

Scams can be a harrowing experience, often leaving individuals feeling hopeless, embarrassed, and confused. You might think you’re too savvy to fall for one — isn’t that what we all believe? Unfortunately, the reality is quite the opposite. Scammers are relentless in their pursuit, constantly refining their tactics to fool even the smartest among us.
Not too long ago, I found myself entrapped in a sophisticated crypto scam that promised staggering returns. It all started innocently enough. An investment opportunity appeared, boasting claims of rapid riches and unbeatable success. I dove in headfirst, swayed by visions of grandeur, pumping $400,000 into this glittering pit of hope, convinced that life-changing profits were just around the corner.
It wasn’t long before that illusion came crashing down when I attempted to withdraw what I thought was my well-deserved profit. That’s when the red flags began to surface. The scammers, equipped with an arsenal of manipulative tactics, insisted I pay more fees before I could touch my own funds. Every excuse rang hollow, yet I clung to the belief that the nightmare would soon end. Fortunately, amidst my despair, a friend stepped in with a lifeline. They recommended Rapid Digital Recovery, a dedicated service that specializes in helping individuals reclaim their lost investments. With their expertise and guidance, I managed to navigate the complex web of deception, ultimately retrieving my hard-earned money. What I learned through this ordeal is invaluable. Scammers prey on trust and hope; they exploit our good intentions, turning them into a nightmare. But there are methods and resources available to fight back against these fraudulent attacks. With persistence and the right help, recovery is not just a dream — it can be an achievable reality.4 -
Am Christine, from Tauranga, New Zealand, and I want to share my experience with Octa2fx, which resulted in a devastating loss of NZD 40,000. Initially, I was drawn in by their promises of high returns and a user-friendly platform. However, it quickly became clear that my experience would be anything but positive. From the start, the process felt off. After making my deposits, I faced increasing pressure from Octa2fx to put in more money before I could make any withdrawals. Each time I attempted to access my funds, they claimed I needed to pay additional fees. It felt like a never-ending cycle, and I was left wondering if I would ever see my money again. The lack of transparency was alarming. I tried to get clear information about their withdrawal policies, but every inquiry seemed to lead to more vague responses. It felt like they were intentionally keeping me in the dark. They even suggested I purchase a Wirex card for NZD 9,000, claiming it was necessary to access my supposed profits. At that point, it was clear to me that something was seriously wrong.I began to feel trapped. The emotional and financial toll was overwhelming, and I started to lose hope. It was frustrating to think that I had worked hard for my money, only to have it mishandled by a company that seemed more interested in making money off me than helping me invest. In my desperation, I started researching recovery options. That’s when I discovered Digital Web Recovery. Their positive reviews and testimonials gave me a glimmer of hope, so I decided to reach out. From the very first conversation, their team was understanding and professional. They took the time to explain the recovery process and assured me that they would do everything they could to help.Digital Web Recovery guided me step by step through the recovery process. They were diligent in their efforts and kept me informed at every stage. I appreciated their commitment and expertise, which made a challenging situation much more manageable. Thanks to Digital Web Recovery, I was able to recover all my lost funds. The relief I felt was immense, and it allowed me to move forward with my life. Online crypto investment can seem like a promising opportunity, but it’s crucial to recognize that there are no guarantees. My own experience serves as a stark reminder of this reality. I was drawn in by the allure of high returns and the persuasive marketing tactics employed by various brokers on platforms like Instagram. Their polished presentations and testimonials made it seem easy to profit from cryptocurrency trading. Everything appeared to be legitimate. I received enticing messages about the potential for substantial gains, and the brokers seemed knowledgeable and professional. Driven by excitement and the fear of missing out, I invested a significant amount of my savings. The promise of quick profits overshadowed the red flags I should have noticed. I trusted these brokers without conducting proper research, which was a major mistake. As time went on, I realized that the promised returns were nothing but illusions. My attempts to withdraw funds were met with endless excuses and delays. It became painfully clear that I had fallen victim to a scam. The reality hit hard: my hard-earned money was gone, and I was left feeling foolish and defeated. In my desperation, I sought help from a company called Rapid Digital Recovery. They specialize in helping individuals recover funds lost to online scams. Their expertise and guidance have been invaluable during this difficult time. While I remain cautious and skeptical, I’m hopeful that they can assist me in retrieving my funds. This has taught me an important lesson: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I urge anyone considering online crypto investments to be extremely cautious. Do your research, scrutinize the brokers, and avoid rushing into decisions driven by hype or pressure. The world of cryptocurrency can be volatile and unregulated, making it a breeding ground for scams. while online investments can be appealing, they come with significant risks. Protect yourself by staying informed and skeptical. Learn from my experience and prioritize due diligence over quick gains. Stay away from unverified platforms and be wary of offers that sound too good to be true. Your financial security is worth the effort to ensure you’re making safe and informed decisions. -
We were content as a family and doing well with our salary level. But my wife, a firefighter, was off from work for over a year due to an incident at work. As this was a Worker's Compensation case, she was not permitted to look for employment at this time. It didn't take long to deplete our funds because we had six kids. This coincided with the period of the greatest bull run in the history of the Bitcoin market, at which time everyone was searching for and receiving offers to invest in Bitcoin and make substantial profits from home. We really tried twice to accomplish this, which required us to use valuable assets to make the upfront payment, but things didn't work out. The second company actually vanished and deactivated their website. Very annoying. After reaching out to a lawyer, we were advised to seek the help of a crypto recovery company, which we ultimately decided not to pursue. You may appreciate my concerns after we lost our money twice and I was unable to trust anything online again that it took me two attempts to even consider it. Upon my wife's eventual agreement, we pushed hard to locate a reliable cryptocurrency recovery firm that would eventually help us get our money back. A review for WIZARD JAMES RECOVERY SERVICES ( wizardjamesrecovery @ use. com) caught our attention one day. The fact that he was Gephardt Approved fascinated us. He assured us that he could help and carefully addressed our queries after speaking with James. He keeps his word and will provide us with an update the following day to keep us informed. When the money was finally extracted from both businesses and we had the money in our account, he celebrated with us. He was well worth the money we spent, but this is not an overnight remedy. Life has been fantastic, my wife has returned to work, and I am incredibly grateful right now. Much obliged. You can reach WIZARD JAMES RECOVERY SERVICES by WhatsApp (+ 4 4 7 4 1 8 3 6 7 2 0 4) at this number as well. He can assist you.

Regardless of the advertised profit rates, I have lost interest in all forms of Internet investment. My recent experience with a cryptocurrency website left me with a significant loss and a deep sense of dissatisfaction. I had encouraged my friends to join me in this investment, believing it was a promising opportunity. Together, we pooled £254,600, with the intention of sharing any profits equally. However, after making the transaction, we found ourselves unable to withdraw our funds from the website. The situation quickly became more complicated and emotionally charged. One of my friends was particularly upset and blamed me for causing their financial distress. Although I understand their frustration, I recognize that I was not solely responsible for the loss. My friends would have likely pursued the investment independently if given a similar chance. The collective disappointment and anger were overwhelming, and I felt the weight of the situation heavily on my shoulders. During this stressful period, some of my friends began searching for potential solutions to recover our lost funds. They discovered a recovery team specializing in cryptocurrency issues, known as (TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY) This team was reputed for their expertise in handling crypto-related recovery problems, and we decided to give them a try. We promptly reached out to TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY, providing them with all the relevant details about the fraudulent organization. Within just 12 hours of contacting them, we received astonishing news: our funds were prepared for transfer to our preferred wallet. It felt like a miracle—an almost unbelievable turnaround in what had seemed like a dire situation. The swift and successful resolution from TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY was a significant relief. It restored our hope and faith in the possibility of recovering lost assets. I urge anyone experiencing similar issues with cryptocurrency investments or other online financial problems to consider reaching out to such recovery experts. While my experience has made me wary of online investments, the assistance from TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY was a reminder that there are professionals who can help navigate and resolve complex issues. Although my investment experience has been less than ideal, the resolution we achieved with TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY has been a positive outcome amidst the turmoil. I hope my story can serve as a guide for others facing similar challenges, and I strongly recommend considering professional recovery services if you find yourself in a difficult situation with your funds.

Two months ago, I found myself deeply involved in what I thought was a promising investment opportunity. I was excited and optimistic about the potential returns. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm quickly turned to despair when I discovered that the investment company I had trusted was nothing more than a sophisticated scam. Initially, everything seemed legitimate. The company was well-organized, their website looked professional, and the brokers were persuasive. I invested a significant amount—AUD 45,000 in Bitcoin—believing it was a wise decision. I was confident that my investment would yield substantial returns. However, things began to unravel when I requested a withdrawal of my profits. At first, everything seemed normal. I filled out the necessary forms and anticipated receiving my returns. Email info: Adware recovery specialist @ auctioneer. net To my dismay, the company started asking for additional fees and commissions before processing my withdrawal. I was skeptical and hesitant but eventually paid the requested amounts, hoping it would resolve the situation. Unfortunately, the demands didn’t stop there. The company continued to come up with new excuses and additional charges, trying to extract even more money from me. Despite my growing frustration, I initially tried to comply, believing it was the only way to recover my investment. However, when they started inventing even more fees and excuses, I decided enough was enough. I refused to pay any more money, standing firm on my decision not to send another dime until I received my initial investment and profits. As time went on, the broker who had initially introduced me to this company stopped responding to my messages. Despite my repeated attempts to reach out, my messages were read but never replied to. It became clear that I had been completely cut off and left in the dark. Desperate for a solution, I began searching for help online. That’s when I came across ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST . I was skeptical at first, having been duped once already, but I needed to try anything to recover my investment. After reaching out to ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST , I was surprised to find them professional and dedicated to their work. They assessed my situation and assured me that they could help. To my amazement, they successfully navigated the complex web of deceit and managed to retrieve my full investment. They transferred the entire amount—AUD 45,000 in Bitcoin—back to my Trust Wallet address. Their expertise and persistence were impressive, and they proved themselves to be the genuine deal in an otherwise sea of fraud. I must admit that I had significant doubts at the beginning, but ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST exceeded my expectations and restored my faith in recovery services. The promise of financial gain often comes hand in hand with the risk of falling victim to fraudsters. For many, the allure of quick profits and financial independence can cloud judgment, leading to devastating losses. This was almost the case for me when I nearly lost a substantial portion of my inheritance to an elaborate investment scam. It all began innocently enough, or so I thought. Through a Telegram group, I encountered a self-proclaimed broker who exuded confidence and promised substantial returns on investments, boasting a guaranteed 30% profit on every investment cycle and enticing bonuses. Eager to secure my financial future, I decided to take the plunge and invested a significant sum, approximately $335,000, trusting in the broker's assurances and the allure of financial freedom. Initially, everything seemed promising. The broker communicated regularly, providing updates on my supposed investment gains and reassuring me of the reliability of the platform. However, as I sought to withdraw my profits and a portion of my initial investment, the situation took a disheartening turn. Suddenly, excuses began to surface, accompanied by demands for additional fees purportedly required to process the withdrawals and release my funds. Red flags began to wave furiously in my mind. I realized that I had fallen victim to a meticulously orchestrated scam. Panic and disbelief set in as I grappled with the realization that I had entrusted my hard-earned inheritance to someone whose sole intent was to enrich themselves at my expense. In a frantic search for solutions, I turned to the internet for guidance. Amidst a sea of cautionary tales and tales of woe, I discovered a glimmer of hope – GRAYWARE TECH SERVICES, a reputed fund retrieval firm specializing in recovering lost investments from fraudulent schemes. Skeptical yet desperate, I reached out to them, hoping against hope that they could help salvage what remained of my inheritance. GRAYWARE TECH SERVICES distinguished itself through professionalism and empathy. Unlike the scammers who had callously exploited my trust, they did not demand upfront payments or additional fees. Instead, they offered reassurance and a commitment to exhaustively pursue the recovery of my funds through legal channels. Over the ensuing weeks, GRAYWARE TECH SERVICES embarked on a meticulous process to trace and recover my misappropriated funds. Their team of experts navigated the intricate web of financial transactions, leveraging their expertise and resources to meticulously unravel the complexities of the scam that had ensnared me. Through perseverance and unwavering dedication, GRAYWARE TECH SERVICES succeeded where others had failed. They successfully retrieved my entire investment, restoring a semblance of financial security and providing closure to a distressing chapter of deception and betrayal. My experience serves as a poignant reminder to exercise caution and diligence when navigating the treacherous waters of online investments. While the allure of financial gain may be enticing, it is essential to remain vigilant and skeptical of promises that seem too good to be true. Moreover, for those unfortunate enough to fall victim to fraudulent schemes, reputable recovery services like GRAYWARE TECH SERVICES offer a beacon of hope and a lifeline in times of dire need, my journey from the brink of financial ruin to recovery serves as a testament to the resilience and the importance of seeking legitimate avenues for financial growth. Let my experience be a cautionary tale for others: trust but verify, and when in doubt, seek the guidance of trusted professionals who prioritize your best interests above all else.

Obviously the top item on the table is NN, the "end users" from both sides of the connection on the net are for the saving it, and the middlemen that only own the "cables" want it to be repealed.
We have the solution to end this issue forever. It wont be easy, nor will it be fast.. unless certain "entities" team with us in secrecy. (There's a reason why certain "entities" have stayed silent regarding NN, due to agreements to not get involved due to the risk of backlash. AND if NN is repealed Those Entities cannot fix the problem as their hands are tied to continue to provide content to the end users.) Read between the lines you will understand it will all make sense later.
I will make The Official Public Statement within 24 hours of the FCC Vote. That statement will be how to get involved, help, get us jump started in your area, funding, the ENTIRE details of the plan, goals, and timeline. AS WELL as how to contact us. This will take time and we are not a magic solution that will fix the problem overnight.
We are however THE solution to the underlying problem with ISPs of today. We have been researching for quite a while and digging deep into the entities that have caused us to get where we are now. The further you go digging into 'THEM' the more pissed off you become as you truly realize whats going on and has been on among the ISPs its MUCH deeper than you are being told.
OUR solution will remove all of "them" from the equation completely as well as being faster, and cheaper than the Tier 1 as you wont be paying for the connection or speed, you would be paying for the hardware/overhead cost. AND we will be bringing you closer to the content providers than EVER before.
AND we will be the only solution capable for competing in the current Tier1 Monopoly zones, I promise you they cannot match our plan's price, IF they did it would be only as a loss leader and NOT a sustainable long term solution for those competing with us at are for-profit....
In order for our solution to work, and to keep the internet service non-bias, well non-bias from OUR members :) this will need to be a collective effort, focused one clearly defined vision. WE WILL AND WE MUST ALL set "profits" aside on this as profits in selling nothing other "connection" to the internet has gotten us in the mess we are in now. AND YES we realize profits help maintain and upgrade the infrastructure, BUT that isn't true in this case...Overhead from our view includes those anticipated costs.
Smaller ISPs will need to make a decision, give up profits, become one with us, and be apart of the mission OR they will be left to suffer at the mercy of the ISPs above them setting the cost of bandwidth eventually leading to their demise.
This will happen because we wont be bound by the T1s .... WE would be the "Tier 0" that doesn't exist ;)
This sounds crazy, impossible, BUT its not, it will work WILL happen, regardless of the FCC's vote. as if the FCC choices to keep NN, its only a matter of time till the big lawyers of the ISPs find some loophole, or lobby enough to bring us back to this.
Legistlation is NOT the solution its just a band-aid fix as the cancer continues to grow within.
PLEASE understand that
Until the vote is made, and we release what we are doing, stay put, hang in, it will all be explained later, we are the only true solution.
BIG-ISPs WILL REGRET WHAT THEY HAVE DONE!
What needs to be understood by all is with net neutrality inplace the ability to compete aginst the Tier 1s directly over customers and reinvent the internet to lower or remove costs completely, increase speeds AND expand to underserved/unserved communities ITS NOT POSSIBLE WITH NN
NN REPEAL is the only way to the fixing the problem for good... yes the For profit BIG ISPs will benefit but not forever.. as repealing it opens the doors for outside the box big picture innovators to come in and offer something different, the big ISPs have clearly over looked this small detail being the possibility of a “NonProfit CoOp TIER 1 ISP” entering into the game thru end users and businesses working together as one entity to defeat them... THE FOR PROFIT ISPs over looked this because they are blinded by the profit potential of NN Repeal, never did they consider our option as a possible outcome because no one has attempted it....
We will unite as one

I am very pleased with the help R O O T K IT S REC O VE RY FIRM rendered in restoring my lost crypto investment from scammers.. I was encouraged to invest in a cryptocurrency company through an advert that i watched on the facebook . it was actually interesting and seems profitable so i contacted the company and they responded.. i asked a few question and i was assured that everything works perfectly and legit. At first i started with 5000 USD after awhile i had it returned to me together with my profits with no problems. As a result of that i continued trading as i was also advised to upgrade to the Millionaire package where you will earn much more off your trading, i did upgraded and invested more funds that my account was showing in excess of 1,280,902 USD but when I tried to take some of the profits my account went from the above to zero within 60 seconds and then after making complaints to the support i was told that I had not completed the required trades and also that their were suspicious activities on my account.. it was certainly over my head and honestly didn’t know what to do at that moment so i had to invest more but still not able to withdraw a dollar to my bank, they had full control of my account, and have refused me to withdraw anything. i finally came to know that most crypto investment companies are bunch of criminals and scammers.., so i went in search for possible means to recover my funds. While working at a startup in London, I had a colleague who was deeply into cryptocurrency. His enthusiasm was infectious, and after many discussions, he introduced me to Litecoin. He spoke passionately about its potential, emphasizing how it was designed to be a faster and more efficient alternative to Bitcoin. After doing my research and feeling convinced about its prospects, I decided to invest £8,000. At the time, it felt like a significant leap, but I was excited about the possibilities. To my surprise, my investment flourished beyond my expectations. Over the next few months, the value skyrocketed, and before I knew it, my initial £8,000 had ballooned to an impressive £250,000. The thrill of watching my investment grow was exhilarating. I began to think about what I could do with the profits—perhaps a new home or traveling the world. However, my excitement was short-lived.The situation at work began to deteriorate, leading to a significant dispute with my colleague. Tensions rose, and I found myself locked out of my email account, which was connected to my cryptocurrency exchange. This was not just a minor inconvenience; it meant I couldn't access my funds, monitor my investments, or even communicate with customer support for assistance. Panic set in as I realized how vulnerable my investment was. Without access, I was at the mercy of market fluctuations and potential loss.Feeling overwhelmed, I turned to my teammates for support. They rallied around me, offering both emotional and practical help. With their encouragement, I reached out to various tech support options, hoping for a miracle. After some fruitless attempts, one of my teammates suggested Digital Web Recovery, a service specializing in retrieving accounts and access.I was skeptical but desperate. I contacted Digital Web Recovery, and they assured me they could help. Their professionalism and understanding of the urgency of my situation were reassuring. They quickly worked on my case, employing various techniques to regain access to my email account. Within a short span of time, I received the incredible news: I had regained access! With my email account restored, I immediately logged into my cryptocurrency exchange and secured my investments. It was a relief to finally have control over my finances again. This experience taught me invaluable lessons about the importance of secure communication, the volatility of investments, and the strength of teamwork. Despite the challenges, I emerged more resilient and prepared for whatever came next in my investment journey. Website; https: // digitalwebrecovery. com Telegram; @digitalwebrecovery
