I was thinking today about a certain aspect of running a software startup and then it came to me...
Hank Scorpio, from the Simpsons, was right in his approach.
So many time I have seen people get hired only for the company to get a less-than-optimal performance from them.
But why is this? Of course, it is many factors but one of the major ones is...
Employers seem to lump employees in together and assume that since most developers operate in one way that the new devs should be the same way.
The problem with this seems to be that we are all pandering to the lowest common denominator.
Let's face it, most devs (like most people) are not good, and almost everyone is not living up to their potential because of a lack of understanding of themselves and how they can achieve more.
On top of that, most devs are just employees who will do what you tell them to.
Since those above developers are the norm (Reference Seinfeld "95% of people are undatable") we have to assume that there is a 5% who are exceptional.
The difference between the 5% and the 95% is NOT some built-in superiority but that the 5% has a good idea themselves and an understanding of how to get the most out of them. They set goals and then find the right path to achieve them. They don't coast.
By assuming these developers are the same as the others is REALLY hampering their potential and by doing this the company only hurts itself.
So, that's a lot of talking but what actionable things can be taken away from this?
Hank asks Homer "What is your dream?"
Well, employeers should take the time to identify which of these developers are in the 5%. A problem arises though when the 5% decide it is in their best interest to blend in.
Like when home says his dream is to "Work for you?" Hank shuts him down and wants to get to the truth. He makes Homer comfortable with not only vocalizing but achieving his dreams.
When an employer is looking for their types they should be looking for the following...
1. A real genuine desire to achieve
2. A real plan to get their goals done
3. Critical thinking and self-evaluation
But more importantly, when they identify these types they should be asking questions like...
- How can we help you be more productive?
- Is there anything about our current operating norm that is hindering you?
- How does your productivity workflow look?
3 difficulties arise though…
1. Most hiring managers are incompetent, and quite frankly, everyone thinks they are in the 5% and for those managers who delude themselves into this without putting in the work, they will have an impossible time actually identifying those who are actually good and productive employees.
2. Showing special treatment to these folks may upset the people below.
3. You will hear things you don’t like…
Examples include…
- That new fancy open-office that you got because it was the trendy thing to do, you might hear that this is a huge hinderance.
- These days people seem to treat devs like nomads, “just give him a laptop and a table and he is fine”!. You may hear that this is complete BS. Real achievers may want a dedicated desk with multiple monitors, a desk with drawers etc.
- This WILL cost you money. I know of developers who cannot work without a dedicated whiteboard. Buy them whatever they need.
- They may want BOTH a standing desk and a chair to sit on.
- Etc.
The point is that it seems to me to be a foolish strategy to tailor your entire company to force everyone into the same work habits. Really good employees have the self-awareness to develop their own productive practices and any keeping of them inside a box will NOT help.

TL;DR, employers are often penny wise and pound foolish.
One morning, my vehicle had a potentially life-threatening condition that I needed fixed before I could drive to work. I was 3 hours late but made a productive day of it. Plus I had stayed late after work, for no pay, a couple of nights because I have the kind of work ethic that compels me to do weird stuff like that occasionally.
When the time clock report came out it showed I was 3 hours short for the pay period. I brought up that I had "paid it forward" a few weeks prior and asked for an exception based on that. I was told that a) all "extra" work had to have been approved prior to doing it and b) that pay period had already passed, so no, I'd need to make up the hours. Being pretty miffed at being so nickled-and-dimed, and for being expected to drive to work in spite of the possibility of losing my life, I just had them take it out of my time off.
Fast forward to my latest monthly review: After another potentially life-threatening vehicle breakdown and fix, I decided to ask whether I could have a couple of telecommute days per week to offset fuel and mileage to recover the repair cost for the wear and tear on my vehicle. The answer was "No, because then everyone will want to work from home and then we'd have no way to know if they're really working."
On that same day I got an offer for doing the same job at another company for 100% telecommute and at nearly twice the salary. I turned in my resignation two days later. Now they're scrambling to try to replace me.2 -

Early morning I walk in to a build failure email.
"Oh shit! It failed and I'm on the Cc list."
.
"Please don't be me. Please don't be me. Didn't I build it already?" *compulsively launches local build*
*Ctrl-C's current build and feels angry for doubting self*
*Repeats, while trying to replay the incidents of last night in the head.*
"Fuck this. I'm certain I built the module."
.. scrolls email ..
"This is not even my change!"
.. scroll ..
"This is not even my code base!"
*feels foolish, but MAJORLY relieved* -

MOTHERFUCK. FUCKING WINDOWS DID IT AGAIN TABARNAK!
Today, I was hoping to study some DB optimization for an exam tomorrow. How foolish of me to think that MOTHERFUCKING FUCKTARD WINDOWS WOULD NOT CHOOSE THIS EXACT MOMENT TO INSTALL THE FUCKING ANNIVERSARY UPDATE. Because it di. It took 2 hours to insert it's fucking update in my ass. FUCK.
I don't know why devs would choose to work for the devil, but for those who did create this update system, I HOPE YOU STEP ON LEGO BRICKS AND THAT YOUR AUDIO IS ALWAYS OUT OF SYNC WITH YOU VIDEO ON NETFLIX.6 -

Why are people such idiots?
This guy is so oblivious he reminds me of a client or PM.
Here’s the email conversation (since he refuses to answer his cell):
Me: Hey; I haven’t been able to reach you for several days. You must be busy! Let me know what time works best for you, and I’ll call you then. Alternatively, you can reach me at <number> any day this week (except Wednesday) from 11am PST (2pm EST) onward.
Him: I will call you at 2:30pm your time on Wednesday.
Me: As I stated in my email, Wednesday is the only day that doesn’t work for me.
Him: Are you free on Thursday?
Me (to audience): YOU FOOLISH, ILLITERATE TOAD!
Me: I am free Thursday (and Friday) from 11am PST and onward.8 -

I rarely tell this story because it's hard to believe and would show me in a bad light if people don't believe its details. I know there have been foolish moves from my part, and more stuff should have been agreed to in writing, and I did step into a legal grey area. However I am pleased with what I did and how it all turned out, and this is as close to the truth as possible without needing to explain too many details.
I was once a team lead in an outsourcing company. We had a flexible payment plan depending on results. That helped me motivate myself and my team. Things worked great.
But then the boss started acting like shit:
1. Flexible payment means minimum, right?
2. Promises are made to be broken, as long as your employees have hope and work overtime for a whole month just to finish an important project before schedule, right?
3. Who needs a good, comfortable, SAFE work environment when you can save 30$ on not buying a new crappy chair in place of the old broken crappy chair, if it can be maintained standing by just a bit of duct tape and careful balancing on it? It's not like that developer who earns 30$ per hour has anything else to think about than balancing on a broken chair, right?
I'm a very calm person at work. I never ever raised my voice at anyone for 10 years of my career. Except this situation. I pulled the boss out of the office so his secretary wouldn't hear what I had to say. I threw this everything into his face.
A guy from sales got out of the office to go to the bathroom, and when he heard me, he carefully snuck back into the office (I didn't see him. He told me this over a beer after he left).
Of course I quit on the spot, convinced most of my team members to leave (wasn't hard, I just had to offer a secure plan, which I did), and helped my team members to get good positions elsewhere, and assisted others in starting their own business, by stealing customers from this company (the asshole did not foresee this when he prepared the labour contracts), after he accused me of plagiarism (that I stole code from somewhere else) and used that excuse to not pay me what we agreed upon.
I didn't want litigation. I just used karma, while remaining in the legal realm.
Within a month after this, more than half of his company was gone, and he was left with only a fraction of the revenue he was making before, since the only ones left were people that did not produce value (sales that had nothing to sell, accounting that had nothing to account, etc.), and just one person maintaining one remaining contract that was bringing barely enough money to sustain half of these people.
Now I want to congratulate you for actually finishing reading this :)1 -

VIM! ViM! vim! Vi Improved! Emacs (Wait ignore that one). What’s this mysterious VIM? Some believe mastering this beast will provide them with untold mastery over the forces of command line editing. Others would just like to know, how you exit the bloody thing. But in essence VIM is essentially a command line text editor at heart and it’s learning curve is so high it’s a circle.
There’s a lot of posts on the inter-webs detailing how to use that cruel mistress that is VIM. But rather then focus on how to be super productive in VIM (because honestly I’ve still not got a clue). This focus on my personal journey, my numerous attempts to use VIM in my day to day work. To eventually being able to call myself a novice.
My VIM journey started in 2010 around the same time I was transiting some of my hobby projects from SVN to GIT. It was around that time, that I attempted to run “git commit” in order to commit some files into one of my repositories.
Notice I didn’t specify the “-m” flag to provide a message. So what happened next. A wild command line editor opened in order for me to specify my message, foolish me assumed this command editor was just like similar editors such as Nano. So much CTRL + C’ing CTRL + Z’ing, CTRL + X’ing and a good measure of Google, I was finally able to exit the thing. Yeah…exit it. At this moment the measure of the complexity of this thing should be kicking in already, but it’s unfair to judge it based on today’s standards of user friendly-ness. It was born in a much simpler time. Before even the mouse graced the realms of the personal computing world.
But anyhow I’ll cut to the chase, for all of you who skipped most of the post to get to this point, it’s “:q!”. That’s the keyboard command to quit…well kinda this will quit the program. But…You know what just go here: The Manual. In-fact that’s probably not going to help either, I recommend reading on :p
My curiosity was peaked. So I went off in search of a way to understand this: VIM thing. It seemed to be pretty awesome, looking at some video’s on YouTube, I could do pretty much what Sublime text could but from the terminal. Imagine ssh’ing into a server and being able to make code edits, with full autocomplete et al. That was the dream, the practice…was something different. So I decided to make the commitment and use VIM for editing one of my existing projects.
So fired the program up and watched the world burn behind me. Ahhh…why can’t I type anything, no matter what I typed nothing seemed to appear on screen. Surely I must be missing something right? Right! After firing up the old Google machine, again it would appear there is this concept known as modes. When VIm starts up it defaults to a mode called “Normal” mode, hitting keys in this mode executes commands. But “Insert” entered by hitting the “i” key allows one to insert text.
Finally I thought I think I understand how this VIM thing works, I can just use “insert” mode to insert text and the arrow keys to move around. Then when I want to execute a command, I just press “Esc” and the command such as the one for saving the file. So there I was happily editing my code using “Insert” mode and the arrow keys, but little did I know that my happiness would be short lived, the arrow keys were soon to be a thorn in my VIM journey.
Join me for part two of this rant in which we learn the untold truth about arrow keys, touch typing and vimrc created from scratch. Until next time..

Fuck YouTube and their sponsored content!
You can clearly see they get paid to promote certain videos as they pop out of nowhere, regardless of your interests, and no matter how many time you click "I don't like this" or "don't recommend channel".
It can be simple stuff like Warthunder vids (which I don't play and never searched for),
Or complex like the Amber Heard trial - vids that make her look foolish. Feels like Depp dropped some serious cash on YouTube to make him look like a victim! (regardless if he really is or not)
Isn't there a law that sponsored content must be marked as such?10 -

I'm very angry at C# 😡 (and java in some degree). Recently I decided to create huge project in C#. (It is my favorite launguage now because of great VS2017 its features, lib and such). I used windows form app in order to make pretty gui for this program. Everything worked fine, but i decided to implement some 3d rendering system in order to display grafs in 3d, oh how foolish was I.
Ok so what are my options?
1.DirectX9 -> abandoned by microsoft, they say its ded so nope.
2. DX11 -> great! i even can use sharpdx or simpledx to use it! oh wait, what is that? INVALID DX CALL
(in demo code)Damit!
3.OpenGL -> obsolete, lib non existent.
4. Library that comes with .NET -> WFP only sorry!
(i found some dogdy tutorials on yt for dx11 but they need .net 2.0 really?) 😐
In that moment i decided to swich to java. (because Java c#_launguage = new Java("microsoft");)
After 1 day of instaling eclipse and 2 more to install the newest jdk MANUALY i realized that java isn't that easy to use as C#, because:
- no dynamic type-> HUGE PAIN i cant use a single list to store everything buuuu!
-console? yes but its burried inside some random lib and its not consistent with every java version!
-gui editor similar to VS one? oh you need to create it from scrach!😫
Well at lest i can render things. So maybe java will render suff as another tool in my app? Nope pipes NON existent, we need to use sockiets! (unity pipe plugin was easier! worked but it was SLOW)
Ok so after few more days of struggling i managed to render simple graf using directx9 in my original C# project that works fine.. 😥 I only need to create a lib to wrap in and we are done!
Why can't companies create a laungage that will have ALL the features i need? Or at lest give me something like pipes that work in every laungage that will be helpful!
I know it is sometimes stressful to be a dev. But when your program works 😀 that is great feeling! Especialy when you learned to code yourself like me 😁. (student before a university, that lives in small abadoned town)6 -

					Just graduated, first real internship.
So basically I'm the only one who do what I'm supposed to do, nobody can help me because they are on project that are totally different. Even my superior who hired me don't know what my predecessor exactly did, he just gave me his gitlab and said "continue... Whatever this shit was".
So I'm alone and the code of my "predecessor" doesn't work obviously because the half of the files are missing, the code has no explanation and he's not joignable. I have to build an algorithm of deep learning from scratch and to do a presentation in one month to explain to everyone why I'm not useless.
Is it really like this everywhere?? Is it the reason why DevRant was created??
I read the quotes when I was in school like "oh no c'mon that really never happened". Foolish boy I was..
But there's nice coffee6 -

Anyone else out there feel useless as a programmer? By that I mean you have always struggled to solve problems quickly and effectively. Or to fully understand the language and typical patterns and algorithms. Or to retain in memory all the things you need to “just know” on a daily basis to avoid having to look them up regularly and look foolish or incompetent? It seems I can’t keep my mind focused on learning, whether by tutorials or hands-on practice. I should probably just switch careers, but I’m so close to retirement that it seems stupid to attempt such a thing. Am I alone?12

My boss is being a stupid cunt. To give you a background we were facing issues with our Collections system. First week December 2019, I and a colleague of mine came up with a new efficient collections architecture. My colleague and I started to Code and create automation scripts mid December and completed it in First week of Jan 2020. This PoC version was supposed to be just between the Dev team(App Dev and Back end, also one from the Ops side to verify the data). I did not receive any feedback on the actual collections system and the data integrity but during this time all they’ve done is take meetings with no real outcome. I raised this and the only email I got is data is looking fine when I know it is not.Now in First week of Feb, he is stressing us to go ahead and deploy the architecture in Production and we have not done any Code Review, Static Code analysis, any real tests on Code and deployment scripts. Have not discussed any metrics for our dashboard and alerting. I have no idea how to handle this cunt. I have even asked for resources to atleast productionalize the code and move ahead the deployment and still no out come. I’ll go in a meeting with him in an hour, I will be very blunt and tell him that whatever he is doing is a foolish way and maybe resign in couple of weeks6

Maybe im wrong but still, damn policies, at my job i need a code review and a commit review before committing code and Im ok with that but hell, I was required to run the api tests when I only modified 2 front end file, i mean seriously i need to run c# tests after modifying angular components. It just seems silly and foolish and a complete waste of time to run the tests for all the projects when i didnt even modified one.

Feels bad to admit it, but I constantly work over hours and on holidays in the past year. The company is in a merger and complete overhaul of two internal systems landed on me, in addition to some other "role hats" I'm wearing.
Deadlines are unrealistic to fit in regular hours, but at least my immediate manager recognizes that and is supportive with extra work flexibility and bonuses every couple of months.
I keep calming myself down that this is temporary, just gotta hit those initial deadlines. Sounds a bit foolish, but I'm hopeful.
They are a good company to work for, and I've been with them from mid 2015. -

People need to throw away their manufactured outrage about the gimp fork, glimpse. Aside from the fact that there are people who are genuinely offended by the term, it also just makes FOSS look unprofessional and foolish, that such a capable piece of software is named so crudely. If we want to be taken seriously, then something easy like changing crude and offensive names is a no-brainer.
Alt-right, 4chan, edgy defenders of the right to offend need to step aside, because they're in the way of progress.9 -

Pulled my hair out over one today (and a week ago when I first saw the issue)
Setting up development environment. Created test user and test database and used mysqldump to copy data over.
MySQL was executing a function as the wrong user. Checked my config files, checked my config reader, checked my database connection, checked checked checked. Checked everything twice, I felt like Santa.
Changed the password in the config file to make sure it was logging in right. It threw an error still but not one I had expected so I figured the login still worked (My bias was that I thought the config file was not working or the mysql library was caching authentication. Both were wrong but this blinded my debugging. Foolish, I have forgotten my training)
Logged into the database directly via client. *didn't bother executing the function because I was only testing auth*
Think
Think
Think
Search entire project for database username. It's gotta be hard coded by accident SOMEWHERE.
It's not.
Why

Wait.
-- Flashback to how the test db was created -- What's actually in this damn script?
DEFINER `production_user` CREATE PROCEDURE `old_db`.`procedure_name`
Two issues: definer is old user (this is the error I was seeing) and its creating the procedure on the old db (this would be the next error I would have found if I kept going)

AI Pro is now part of the Jetbrains All Products Pack I've been subscribed to since I started my current job 11 years ago.

Finally getting to really try out WSL2.
Something must have changed since I last tried it because it's working great running my Jetbrains IDEs graphically and I am able to run NGINX and MySQL no problem. I even have caja installed and it runs great too.
It feels so much snappier than VirtualBox, even though the GPU acceleration is still not really working.
I'm mixed on finally learning Docker. It's a kind of insidious evil that is damaging the industry in a hundred ways, but it is an industry staple so not learning it would be foolish.3 -

Back in 2005, I had quite a few bits of music I was working on (just as a hobby). A lot of these had not been finished, but I'd sent excerpts in medium-quality MP3 format to a friend. I had an external backup drive - a regular hard drive in an USB enclosure. After a while, this drive started making unpleasant whining sounds so I sent it off for replacement.
During that time I made the foolish decision to try and plug a floppy drive in while the PC was powered on. Something touched the bottom of the hard drive and the power went off. I powered it back on again and heard a fizzing sound, there were some flashes from the hard drive and a burning smell. Yep, the disk was dead - and my backup drive was gone.
I'm still not entirely sure what happened, my best guess is that I had an exposed piece of wire from one of my hacky case mods (I had a thing for blue LEDs) which touched the circuitry of the hard drive. Almost every project, piece of software I'd created, every photo I'd taken, and most unfinished music I'd made up until that point - gone. I was pretty devastated about it. I only had a handful of things survived which I'd burned onto CD previously.
I managed to get some excerpts back from my friend, and re-created my favourite pieces of music based on those. I've moved on to other projects and write much better code now, so mostly I am no longer bothered. I do wish I could re-listen to some of the music I had made back then though.
Needless to say, I no longer fiddle around with the innards of my computers while they are on, store everything on mirrored drives and also ensure I always have a backup somewhere (and am working on remote backups and having several days of backups...)
I never want that to happen again -

damn I want to go to this Droidcon in november but this introverty, meeky, lack of confidence syndrome is stopping me.
I absolutely love meetups but I have always attended them with a web dev friend of mine, who is an asshole. I once attended a meetup alone, but i was like sitting like a log on 1 side of the room, interacting with only the speaker and then back to silent, meek log. Everyone there was with some friends or someone but this shitty mouth of me can't talk any shit to them.
So currently my asshole friend is not interested in anything non web dev and i have no one to go alongside. Plus i will be going in a different state, so my mom is sure gonna give a big fat nope. Mom would not be a problem, but i am myself so dependent and foolish i might end up in some trouble or again as a log.
Ahhh fuck me. why do i have to be such a leech character. god help me talk to ppl :/1 -

Hey guys , how are you dealing with covid19 health-wise you know, mentally and physically? I know most of people aren't affected (and i hope you remain the same) or won't care much, but me and my family has always been too anxious.
We had been taking a lot of precautions, but recently my father got sick followed by myself and then my mom.
Those are some mild sickness( <100°F fever, weakness little dry cough) and it maybe purely a coincident that we all got same symptoms and felt sick one by one , but we would be foolish to not consider coronavirus a cause.
And with that realisation comes another wave of panic down my sick parents mind who immediately go into state of paranoia.
How are you people dealing with this? Do you think your strategies and preparations against the virus are enough? Also how exactly are you applying safety measures in home, if someone is sick? Different soaps, different rooms etc?
Stay safe guys . Let's chat to feel better10 -

I'm currently applying for an engineer role. The role is reasonably agnostic regarding specific skills which suits me well because I have a wide base and I like diversity, however they have said they are after more Java developers. Whilst I have programmed in Java and worked on Java projects I wouldn't claim any proficiency beyond amateur.
What sort of things should I really know about if the tech interview brings up Java questions? I'm not expecting them to but it would be foolish not to prepare for that eventuality. -

It annoys me immensely when I struggle with myself, criticizing my own lack of knowledge in certain areas and my colleagues say: "You'll learn by doing". No, I won't, that's a foolish dogma.
I won't and I have never learned by 'doing'. The best results I've obtained have been through understanding every last bit of what's under the hood of a particular functionality. I'm not going to understand the white box by constantly probing the black box, it's just unsatisfactory and insufficient information. It's even dangerous to base yourself on the black box results because you often might get false positives.
I got through university by massive multilateral sensory focus: kinesthetic (writing things down), auditory (listening to the professor), visual (observing graphs and models of the material taught), conscious (mentalizing it all and interlinking information so that later it's accessible from long-term memory). I can confirm this is necessary for the brain because a Neurologist once told me just that.
At least for me, I had the most horrible grades (D's and F's) in freshman year with the 'learn by doing' method and the best grades (A, A+) with the multi-sensory method in later years as I matured my studying methods. In fact, with that method I've continuously outsmarted other people who had 10 years more experience than me ('experts', 'consultants',..) but they preferred to stay in the ignorant 'bro zone' rather than learning things properly. Even worse, the day they arrived on the scene, they completely broke the production environment and messed it up for the whole team. I felt like banging my head on my desk. It just makes me disappointed in the system.
If you follow popular method, you'll soon find yourself in the same problems that arise from doing what everyone else does. What happens at that point? That's right, they have to call in someone who actually bothered learning things.9 -

It's the kind of stuff you don't want in writing forever on the internet but seriously some of the crap people do to sabotage their own success is mind boggling.1

I matched with Samantha on Tinder thinking the usual: favorite movies, travel dreams, the obligatory "so what do you do? " Instead, over a plate of overpriced sushi, she hit me with "Yeah, I lost $250,000 in crypto once. Digital Tech Guard Recovery got it back." I spat my drink. Excuse me? She laughed. "Yeah, some scam drained my wallet overnight. Thought my life was over. Then I came across Digital Tech Guard Recovery, and they did the impossible." I nodded half in amazement, half in disbelief; this lady must have been exaggerating. I mean, who just casually recovers six figures? Cool story, but that could never be me.
Oh, how foolish of me.
Fast forward two months and the universe decided to make me its punchline. I woke up one morning, checked my crypto wallet, and $400,000 was gone. GONE. Like it had been beamed into another dimension. I stared at my screen in horror, refreshing the app like a maniac. Maybe it was a glitch? Maybe my eyes weren't working? Maybe I was hallucinating from lack of sleep Nope. I had fallen for a Ledger fake update. The panic that followed was unlike anything I had ever felt in my life. I was sweating all over my place like I had just finished running a marathon. My brain short-circuited, replaying every bad decision I'd ever made. How could I be this stupid? And then-I remembered Samantha. I scrolled frantically through our old messages, found the name Digital Tech Guard Recovery, and within minutes, I was on the phone, pleading for them to save my financial life. From the moment they answered the phone, I knew I was in good hands: so calm, professional, and eerily confident that their team analyzed my case, assured me they'd track my funds. I barely slept for days on end, checking my emails like a lunatic, waiting for updates. Then, finally—the call: "We recovered your funds. Every last cent." I just sat in complete shock before bursting into laughter. This was what Samantha had described. This time, it was my life they had just saved. I reached for my wallet, and sure enough—there it was, every single dollar back where it belonged. Relief washed over me hard enough that I almost fell. I wanted to scream and cry and throw a party all at once. Instead, I did the only logical thing: I messaged Samantha. "You're never gonna believe this." She replied instantly. "Let me guess… Digital Tech Guard Recovery? " All I could do was send a thumbs-up. Lesson learned: Never ignore good advice from a Tinder date. Also, check on crypto updates yourself; or better yet, have Digital Tech Guard Recovery watch your back.1 -

I’m Sophia K, a retired English teacher at Maplewood High School. For most of my life, I dedicated myself to teaching young minds, helping them shape their futures through literature and language. But nothing could have prepared me for the experience that would shake me to my core losing 17 BTC to a fake Elon Musk giveaway. It all started innocently enough. After retiring, I found myself looking for ways to supplement my savings, which had dwindled after years on a teacher’s pension. I had heard about cryptocurrency from a few friends and read a few articles, but I didn’t fully understand it. That’s when I stumbled across a post online that seemed too good to ignore. A promotion claiming that Elon Musk was giving away Bitcoin as part of a special event. The ad looked professional, the message was convincing, and the link seemed legitimate. I thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After all, Elon Musk had made so much noise around Bitcoin. It seemed like the real deal. The offer promised that anyone who sent Bitcoin to a specific address would receive double the amount back. My excitement got the best of me. I thought to myself, If I send a little, maybe I’ll get a return to help me enjoy my retirement more. So, I sent the Bitcoin, 17 BTC in total, to the address provided. But when nothing happened when I received no confirmation and the website went dark I knew something was wrong. I tried reaching out, but all my messages went unanswered. It became clear that I had been scammed. The emotional toll was immediate. I felt foolish, devastated, and completely exposed. My savings were tied up in that cryptocurrency, and suddenly, I was left with nothing. The financial loss was hard enough to handle, but the emotional weight of it was even worse. I questioned everything: my judgment, my understanding of online investments, and the very security I once felt in my own knowledge and experience. That’s when I turned to FIXER WALLET RECOVERY for help. Their psychologists first stabilized my trauma, offering support as I processed the shock. Then their engineers took over, analyzing the on-chain data to track the scam’s digital footprint. Thanks to their expertise, Fixer Wallet Retrieval helped me recover all 17 BTC. While the ordeal was painful, I’m grateful for the help I received. It taught me valuable lessons, and now I’m passionate about sharing my story to warn others. TRUSTED BITCOIN & ETHEREUM RECOVERY COMPANY- CONSULT SALVAGE ASSET RECOVERY
I run a small business here in California, and like many entrepreneurs, I’m always looking for ways to safeguard my company’s financial future. A few years ago, I decided to set aside $150,500 in Bitcoin as a safety net for my business, believing that cryptocurrency could provide a level of financial security in uncertain times. To help manage the wallet, I entrusted my funds to a close friend who had been assisting with my finances. At the time, it seemed like a sensible decision—I trusted him, and he had the technical knowledge to handle the wallet. However, everything changed one day when I logged into my Bitcoin wallet to check my balance and found that the account was completely empty. My heart sank as I realized the funds were gone. After attempting to refresh, log in again, and even reaching out to my friend, the harsh reality set in: he had betrayed me, transferring the funds without my permission. It wasn’t just the financial loss—it was the sense of betrayal that hurt the most. I had placed my trust in someone I considered a close ally, and now I felt foolish, angry, and utterly devastated. Last year, I dove into cryptocurrency, chasing dreams of financial freedom. Bitcoin’s allure was irresistible, and I invested my savings into a platform promising exponential returns. The site dazzled with sleek design, glowing reviews, and a vibrant community. Naively, I transferred my Bitcoin, ignoring subtle red flags. Weeks passed with no returns; then the platform vanished. My savings—years of hard work—were gone. The betrayal stung deeper than the financial loss, leaving me sleepless, haunted by regret. I contacted the platform’s “support,” but silence answered. I felt foolish, my dreams shattered.
A colleague, seeing my despair, mentioned Cyberpunk Programmers, a team skilled in recovering stolen digital assets. Skeptical yet desperate, I reached out. Their response was immediate, professional, and empathetic. They explained their process—using advanced blockchain tracing and forensic tools—without overwhelming jargon. They didn’t promise miracles but instilled hope. Updates came regularly, detailing their progress in unraveling the scam’s digital trail. Their transparency eased my anxiety.
One morning, an email arrived: “Funds recovered.” Logging into my wallet, I saw my Bitcoin restored. Tears welled up—relief, gratitude, disbelief. Cyberpunk Programmers didn’t just recover my assets; they reclaimed my trust in justice. Their discreet, relentless expertise turned my nightmare into redemption. For anyone devastated by crypto scams, I wholeheartedly recommend them. They’re digital vigilantes fighting for victims, proving hope persists even in the darkest moments. The Risks of Online Crypto Investment: A Cautionary Tale
EMAIL: rap iddigitalreco ve ry @ exe cs. com.
WHAT SAPP: + 1 41 4 80 7 14 85
Online crypto investment can seem like a promising opportunity, but it’s crucial to recognize that there are no guarantees. My own experience serves as a stark reminder of this reality. I was drawn in by the allure of high returns and the persuasive marketing tactics employed by various brokers on platforms like Instagram. Their polished presentations and testimonials made it seem easy to profit from cryptocurrency trading. Everything appeared to be legitimate. I received enticing messages about the potential for substantial gains, and the brokers seemed knowledgeable and professional. Driven by excitement and the fear of missing out, I invested a significant amount of my savings. The promise of quick profits overshadowed the red flags I should have noticed. I trusted these brokers without conducting proper research, which was a major mistake. As time went on, I realized that the promised returns were nothing but illusions. My attempts to withdraw funds were met with endless excuses and delays. It became painfully clear that I had fallen victim to a scam. The reality hit hard: my hard-earned money was gone, and I was left feeling foolish and defeated. In my desperation, I sought help from a company called Rapid Digital Recovery. They specialize in helping individuals recover funds lost to online scams. Their expertise and guidance have been invaluable during this difficult time. While I remain cautious and skeptical, I’m hopeful that they can assist me in retrieving my funds. This has taught me an important lesson: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I urge anyone considering online crypto investments to be extremely cautious. Do your research, scrutinize the brokers, and avoid rushing into decisions driven by hype or pressure. The world of cryptocurrency can be volatile and unregulated, making it a breeding ground for scams. while online investments can be appealing, they come with significant risks. Protect yourself by staying informed and skeptical. Learn from my experience and prioritize due diligence over quick gains. Stay away from unverified platforms and be wary of offers that sound too good to be true. Your financial security is worth the effort to ensure you’re making safe and informed decisions.

Looking back, the hardest part wasn’t just losing the money—it was convincing myself to ask for help. When I lost CAD 35,000 to an investment scam, I was devastated. I felt humiliated and foolish. I kept thinking, “Who falls for these things?” The shame was overwhelming. I wanted to move on and forget about it, but the thought of that money being gone forever kept eating at me. That amount meant so much to me. I had just graduated from university and was working hard to build a future. Losing it felt like a huge setback. At first, I tried to push the feelings aside, telling myself to just accept the loss and move forward. But the more I thought about it, the harder it became to let go. I felt stuck, like the situation was hopeless. That’s when my sister stepped in. She had heard about Tech Cyber Force Recovery, a service that helped people recover lost funds from scams, and thought it might be worth a shot. I was skeptical at first. I’d heard of services that promised to help but didn’t deliver, and honestly, I didn’t think anything could undo the damage done. But my sister wouldn’t let it go. She reached out to Tech Cyber Force Recovery on my behalf, and within no time, I was on the phone with their team. What happened next completely blew me away. The team at Tech Cyber Force Recovery was nothing like I expected. They were professional, understanding, and incredibly transparent about the entire process. There were no gimmicks, no high-pressure tactics. They didn’t try to push me into anything I wasn’t comfortable with. Instead, they laid out a clear, simple plan to recover my funds. It felt like a weight had been lifted just hearing them explain their approach. I followed their instructions and provided the necessary details. When I first got involved in crypto, I was excited by the potential for growth, but I never imagined it would end in such a nightmare. I had found what seemed like a trustworthy investment opportunity, one that promised incredible returns with little risk. After weeks of careful research, I took the leap and sent a large sum of money to the platform. Everything appeared legitimate a professional website , user testimonials, and even responsive customer support. But then, overnight, the platform vanished without a trace. The website was gone, and my emails went unanswered. I was left in shock, staring at an empty screen, wondering how I could have been so naive. I felt foolish, embarrassed, and completely powerless. I couldn’t believe I’d fallen for such a blatant scam. For weeks, I tried everything contacting the platform, reporting the scam to authorities, and even reaching out to other so-called recovery services. But each attempt only deepened my frustration. I was met with either silence or more false promises. My hopes were dashed, and I began to believe I’d lost everything. The financial and emotional toll was overwhelming, and I was ready to give up, convinced there was no way back. Just when I was about to lose all hope, I came across a recovery team called FUNDS RECLIAMER COMPANY. Unlike the others, they didn’t make lofty claims or promise instant results. They offered a more thoughtful, strategic approach—one that was based on careful investigation and tailored solutions. They understood exactly what I was going through, and their empathy was genuine. What really set FUNDS RECLIAMER COMPANY apart was their transparency and honesty. They didn’t overpromise or make me any false assurances.

You ever try to get some cool dev swag? Stickers, t-shirts, maybe a notebook that makes you feel like a real hacker while you’re just writing TODO lists? Yeah, good luck.
First, you gotta jump through a thousand hoops. "Complete this 5-hour coding challenge!" "Sign up for our newsletter, then confirm via email, then sacrifice a goat under the next full moon!" And the worst part? Some of these companies ghost you harder than a bad Tinder date.
Google Cloud Arcade? Completed 10 challenges. No swag.
Hacktoberfest? Contributed to open-source. Shirt never arrived.
Random Twitter giveaway? Retweeted, liked, followed, tagged three friends. Crickets.
But the moment you don’t want swag? BAM—your mailbox is drowning in random recruiter postcards from companies you've never heard of.
And let’s talk about those "exclusive" ambassador programs. They dangle swag in front of you like a carrot, but guess what? The only people who get in are LinkedIn influencers who say "🚀 Keep learning! Stay hungry! Stay foolish!" 50 times a day.
At this point, I’d rather just pay $5 for a sticker pack than deal with all this nonsense. But no, these companies make it seem like getting a free T-shirt is harder than getting a job at FAANG.
Just give me my damn stickers!1 -
