I have a huge problem.
I fell in love with a girl and I can't concentrate enough to code. I sit at my PC, open editor and start, but from time to time I find myself staring blindly into a screen realizing i lost some time thinking of her. My call team lost power. If our major clients try to call and can't, we're fucked. My boss isn't helping and I can't do shit about it without him, he just keeps saying they need to get power. The people they need for that aren't answering. How fucking difficult is it to stop jerking off long enough to help them out so we don't get fucked out of egregious amounts of money.12

Look, I'm gonna be honest with you, since I started working I don't have nearly as much free time as I used to have (Not everybody works when they feel like it, you know that?) I get home at around almost 7pm (most of the time) and don't really wanna work afterwards. Most of the time there's a support service from the people who made this software and they would be glad to help you. (Sorry support team, for pushing this bundle of incompetence onto you, but I guess she didn't even listen to my advice).
After that she didn't back down and still wanted my help. Then my grandmother derailed the conversation and got me out of this. When I thanked her later she yold me that she saw I saw uncomfortable and wanted to help. I love my grandmother.
So I am not going to be your "family" tech support. You b(r)ought this onto yourself. Are more than twice my age and still can't use your brain to solve problems like these on your own and you can even less reason abiut your motives and desires when asking for help. I am sick of you and shutty opinions about people, just because I work as a software engineer doesn't mean I'm exist solely for satisfying your unreasonable desires.
Stop offending me and my profession and get yourself some common sense.

Dropping out of school. So many lost years on keeping up with stupid and incompetent shits, with the piece of paper at the finish line not obtained. I did that twice and lost.. what, 5 years on that? Time I could've spent doing self-study instead. I'm not saying that anyone else should drop out - don't! - but for me, going to school doesn't seem worth it when I can learn on my own, and do it much faster. Unfortunately however those stupid pieces of paper are still regarded as valuable by some.. so whether refusing to get those is a good or a bad idea, only time can tell...10

Something I refer to as the "Lost Cause Syndrome".
Basically you start working on a project enthusiastically with the resolution to write the best possible code. But either one (or some or all) of management, client and colleagues succeed in transforming the project into a comedy (or tragedy, depending on your outlook) of errors.
Then finally, one day you decide that the project is a lost cause and stop caring about it. You end up in a "Let's get this over with and get out of here" type of mindset without making any efforts to improve the situation.3 -

Trying to get my dns server in php to work from the outside (it's on a vm on one of my dedi's) but it's not working.
- Port forwarding works well: confirmed.
- Connection type: UDP; confirmed.
- I *can* dig from the host (dedicated server) to the vm.
- nmap scans show an open port.
The exact same happens on my local network.

Tesla manages to lose money even without competition and with all that dotations. Imagine what happens when the competition in EV arises from other automakers? Then, dotations will stop. Tesla had no competition and had dotations. They're not gonna get any dotations anymore, and they will have rising competition.

Yesterday all management was sick or away on vacation or training.

Normally I don't give a shit when I lost a job opportunity.
But dude, this year everything is bad as fuck. I moved out (yet again) to marry and start a new life.
And as I said a previous Rants, I got a client that just made me lost another client when they started to get shady. For almost a god dam month now, I can't find even a crappy job.
This never happened. I got more than 10 opportunities. A handful of interviews, a few tests and none of them gave me a job.

Switching workplace after new year.
Already told boss I'm quitting last week. And it is like as soon as It was official I lost all patience with the company bullshit and lost the little interest I had left for my daily work. The codebase seemes bad before but now it feel 100x worse.

Hi everyone... Great to be back but not feeling so great. I keep feeling... "tired", "bored", like everything I do has no fucking meaning. So I found the reason of kernel panic, my laptop's hdd is fucked, lost all the data. Now using a live usb until I get a replacement. Silver lining is I won't install windows for dual boat and replace elementaryOS with arch linux. I want a proper fight now.1

Riddle me this: (Arch) Whenever network connection is lost, NetworkManager freezes for a good 10s. Neither nmcli nor nmtui nor client applications get anything back from it during this time. After that 10s, it detects that the connection was lost and continues normal operation.10

What are the symptoms of a broken openssh server?
I completely lost access with connection reset by peer, however, earlier today I kept having my session auto disconnect on only one server, the only way I could gain access is to remove and then install openssh again
But on this particular server, I have not even changed ssh port, why did it get broken?15 -

Working on a new release. This release was tested locally and pronounced good. The release went to the QA environment. QA responds that a new feature is doing nothing. There are no errors reported, and work is being done on the UI, but is not get getting persisted to the database so all changes are lost when the session is lost. Do some investigating. I find that a web service had the code in two of its methods commented out. Why? No idea. No response yet from the developer who just had the two methods return a boolean denoting success while all other operations were commented out.
I need an appropriate punishment for this...3 -

My first intern for school.
It was for less than two months (so I don't get paid), and it was developing HTML on Joomla!.
I lost money (since I was living on my savings, no scloarship during the intern, and had to take the train, which wasn't paid by the company, of course no), nothing more learned, I wouldn't call valuable that experience since I want to avoid CMS as most as possible, lost a whole summer.

I have lost track of the whys, but I'm writing something that loads a datastructure not unlike specifications of C types (plus struct single inheritance and generics) from any DLL-s tossed in the same folder, then organizes them into a pretty database. I feel really lost in neural network theory.
the mnist sample made sense, but now I'm looking at Gans and CNN's.. and now all of a sudden I'm lost.
True also are the examples I'm finding of something I know I was able to get to work when more at peace once upon a time called wavenet for text to speech.
I used the Onyx model however which was very easy to implement, but I quickly get lost looking at the tensorflow and pytorch code, even though it is very short I feel intimidated.
The ssd mobilenet documentation also is pretty straightforward, but when I look for wavenet information about providing input in what format and interpreting output I'm having some trouble.
Its frustrating.
I'm tense, I'm poorly rested, I'm sick of having to redo crap and I'm surrounded by people who make me hypervigilant, skin crawly and tense.
How to overcome these things when I'm not at peace at all ?
