7 am. Dog wants out. I roll out of bed after trying to pretend I am dead.
Walk down the stairs to the side door. Half asleep and notice that the door has daylight shining through on the lock side. Didn't shut it all the way the night before. Walk outside. Dog does his thing. Turn around. Doors locked.
Fuck.
Go for my phone. In the house. Go for my keys. In the house. Fuck. Fuck a duck.
Start checking my windows. One opens a fraction of an inch. Doesn't do me any good. Dog is outside with me. Freezing his ass off. It's like 5 degrees here.
Both of my neighbors don't answer their door. Life flashes before my eyes. Put my dog in my jacket to warm him up. Little 15lb rat terrier. Not made for snow.
He's fine for now. I grab a piece of rebar from my backyard and lever my window a bit more open, busting one of the locks.
And then I yell "ALEXA. OPEN THE FRONT DOOR." The voice of an angel responds. "OK." Whirrr. Click. Door opens. Sweet warmth.
I need a fake rock with a key under it.
Great Sunday.18 -

Running from my job to my bus stop while having my phone in my hands trying to fend off a cyber attack while my hands are nearly freezing and its raining like hell.
Sometimes my job is just fucking awesome.16 -
Not only in my work, but in my life.
My biggest inspiration is the popcorn seller that patiently stays outside the subway exit, standing, every fucking day, from 4-5pm until 0-2am.
He stays until after the subway closes, and only leaves after everyone waiting for their Uber or their ride do.
In the rainiest day of the year, he was there.
In the coldest day of the year, he was there.
In the worst crisis of our country in the last decades, the region became temporarily infested by bandits and beggars. Sometimes I had to work overtime until 11:30pm and I had to be very cautious with all the robbers in the empty dark street. But guess who was there, sometimes calmly saying "get out, go work" to the bad elements bothering him?
I find it reallybfunny and refreshing when everyone is inside waiting for the rain to settle down, while he is standing in the middle of it. Or when I'm coming home really late, and he is still out there freezing cold.
There is no excuse for not doing your best. Life sucks sometimes, but there are no excuses. Just work hard, and laugh at the bad times.
Every time I saw him there, I thought "my day was hard, but I could've worked even harder". At the same time he made me feel better for having a better job, he inspired me not to bitch about any little things.
Then you might ask: "isn't he dumb to stay until 2am even though he is probably not getting any costumers after 11pm?" or "how can someone so unsuccessful be so inspiring?"
Well, I don't know. He just is.
Do almighty, genious people like Steve Jobs inspire me at work? Of course. More than this man? Certainly not.8 -
First thing this morning I heard my boss had taken some PSDs to a client today. I thought it was a bit weird because he doesn't have a laptop. Midday I got a call to say all my PSDs were corrupted:
"I'm with the client now. We're very unhappy, we can't get your files to open."
"Oh, right. They should be fine. What version of Photoshop are you using?"
"The latest."
"Okay, what's the error?"
"There isn't one."
"Okay, so it's freezing?"
"No, we can't see the files at all."
"Which laptop are you using?"
"The Nexus."
"The what?"
"That tablet thing."
So after about 20 minutes we figured out he's copied the PSDs and a shortcut to Photoshop on to a USB stick. Then plugged the USB into a USB to micro USB cable and stuck that in an Android Nexus. Expecting to open Photoshop.exe and the PSDs.
I don't mind people being confused with technology but when it's your own boss, who doesn't even bother to let you know anything, then phones up and tells you off you just want to strangle him.16 -
woke up at 5am
no alarm clock was required
my fucking passion woke me up to get up and code.
i coded outside in my backyard
felt like cold war
it was night
it was dark
a depressing horror atmosphere
just like my whole life
2 hours later i started seeing sun
it was cold outside. alone. in the dark. my arms were freezing.
but 2 hours later i managed to code the feature. it worked.
3 hours have passed. im ripped. quentally.
doing it here. inside now. started the day happy. dropped bullshit from day before. cleanser of all toxicss.
fuck the past. the past will pull you down and kill you.
this. remember. always do not forget.7 -
Bought a second hand e-reader and now importing nearly 1k of PDF files into Calibre's library.
Its taking huge amounts of ram and my laptop started freezing.

sudo sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

Up for a rollercoaster?
I had a super motivated day where i could focus and wanted to get my work done. My stupid work lappy instead kept throwing tantrums and totally prevented me from working. (Everything caused disk thrashing, took multiple minutes instead of seconds, etc.) Total shit day, but I felt great.
Next morning, I woke up all achy and cold. Ignored it and went to work. I was able to fix everything, and got my benchmarks running smoothly in all of fifteen minutes. Got good results, too! Left work and got married at the courthouse. :)
Went to a restaurant afterward, and two jolly fat guys (Off-duty Santa?!) bought us lunch.
Got home and… started feeling really awful. A little while later, I had a 102*f fever. Collapsed on the floor with an electric blanket and was absolutely miserable. Just kind of stared for hours, aching everywhere. Eventually went to bed, and my wife (!) made me all warm and comfy. And then I proceeded to be completely unable to sleep. Or move. Or think. Laid there for four hours unable to move, and shaking violently at any touch of cold air.
Now it’s 1am and I’m here at the freezing kitchen table writing this.
I am miserable.
Absolutely miserable.
But still happy, too!

On Friday, in the midst of the craziest disaster cleanup possible for a project, I tell my boss my laptop keeps freezing and is probably going to crash. Saturday 8:30 FedEx rolls up with a new laptop. I'm even more scared now!4
-
Sick.
Worst sleep of my life last night.
Freezing cold, weak, sore, can’t think, starving but can’t eat or drink, as low energy as a dead Chinese “heavy duty” battery.
Finished some changes to my feature today anyway; everything should be done now. Refactored some specs, and got them all to pass.
Falling asleep on my closet floor. Heavy winter coat, fuzzy pants, space heater. It’s warm in here and there’s a shelf for my lappy. Floor is uncomfortable but idc. I’m so tired and out of it I don’t even notice.
This sucks.
At least I have the rest of the week off.17 -
IT'S TWO THOUSANDS FUCKING NINETEEN VERSION AND YES VISUAL STUDIO IS STILL FREEZING WHEN COPYING AND PASTING A SIMPLE FUCKING TEXT FILE INSIDE THE SOLUTION14

PROCEDURAL PROGRAMMING
You write a list of instructions. The machine reads this list and runs your commands.
OOP PROGRAMMING
Quite similar to procedural programming but you group your functions via objects.
RANDOM PROGRAMMING
Learned of this new paradigm quite recently working with Blue Prism, which is essentially the program doing whatever it wants from crashing, freezing, returning wrong results, sometimes working properly, with no reason whatsoever other than the sheer malice of those beasts of burden who designed it in the first place. Mark my words, BP devs, you will be held accountable for your crimes against God and humanity.5 -
Dear XCode I hope you fucking burn in hell you piece of shit! can't do anything without that shit either indexing, or freezing, or crashing!
FUCK YOU BITCH!9 -
So, being from the tropics, this is the first time I've seen(or rather lived through) temperature going below 0c.
In India if the temp went below 4c, the government would cancel schools n stuff, sooooo, a big deal.
6 -
Fuck. I can't take this shit anymore.
There was a project where we had to implement third-party system for government agency processes management. For some reason, probably because my work is cheap for my boss, the task was assigned to me. Just as a reminder, I'm a .NET Dev. Zero experience in server management. Zero experience in external services implementation.
Anyway, system producent, also an government agency, got angry, becasue they can only earn money on implementation. They have to give the software to other agencies for free. Because of that I've got client program, incomplete documentation and broken scripts for database creation. It took me 2 months to get it all to work but at the end client was happy, my boss got paid and I've got 500 PLN (~130 USD) bonus.
Everything was fine for a while, but after a month server has started freezing everyday, some time before 7 am. The only way I found to make it work again was to restore snapshot made everyday at 10 pm. For a month I was waking up earlier and restored snapshot, and after that my boss took it upon himself. I tried few times to find a bug and fix it, but to no effect. Even person with much more experience with it tried to help but also couldn't find anything.
My solution? Copy all the data and configuration, create new machine, copy everything and check if the problem persists. If not, kill old server. Client won't even notice. But nooooooooo... It would cost my boss a bit of money and I'd need to work on it and he can't let it be, because I'm the only developer working on his flagship product. He'd rather wake up everyday and restore snapshot. Okay, as you wish.
And today, finally, everything went downhill. Snapshot wasn't created, server froze, backup can't be created. Nothing can be done. Client is furious, because they have had reported this problem and a few times restoration was too late and they couldn't work. No one knows how to fix it, I'm not working today (I'm still studying and am available only 2 days) and situation is really shitty.
BUT SURE. ITS BETTER TO RESTORE SERVER EVERYDAY THAN JUST FUCKING FIX IT.
Oh, also, there's no staging or any other real backup. We have snapshots for each day and that's that. Boss' order. Why do I even care...7 -
So today one of my client told me that my script is freezing their website on IE browsers. I tested and told them that website is being freezed even without my script.
Now they sent me analyzed scenario and they concluded that it freezes 4 out of 10 times without script. But it freezes 12 out if 15 times with script -_-. So there is something really wrong with the script and I need to fix it urgently otherwise they will kick me out. #fuckedupLogic
Funny thing is that same script is loaded in so many other client's website and it doesn't freeze any shit.5 -
Rant:
Why in the freezing cold all people think that linux = secure. Ransomware... Bla bla not happening on linux bla bla... Linux is secure.
If Linux would have been the most popular one people will pretty much run everything on root and install every stupid package available and never run: apt-get update.
Users were so dumb they got scammed by a phising mail... In freaking 2017... This is user stupidity not OS fault...
God its stupidly annoying seeing the same stuff : Linux secure...
Everything can be secure if you paid attention to the same stuff in freaking 2000.30 -
Hi android devs! 📱📱📱
I wanted to visualize a sound file using graphview.
But since the samplerate is high, it takes a long time .
To save the phone from freezing I tried using thread witch draws 2000 frames each 500 ms but it still takes a while to fully draw the graph .(lowering thread's repeat time also causes the system to freez)
What is the technical way of doing this?7 -
You returned from your five-day vacation you spent in the mountains. You’re exhausted, but you feel awesome. After all, you climbed Mount Hood all alone, all by yourself.
As phones die in freezing conditions, you took pictures with your camera, that amazing views from the mountain peak, and everything on your way there.
You connect your camera to your PC. You open the pictures folder and realize the photos you took are gone. Instead, there are just five pictures.
Pictures of you. Sleeping in your tent.

Writing a report in a word document for half an hour. Forgot to save in the middle.
You guys know what happened after that :(
2016 and we still have to deal with this freezing shit :(10 -
Don't you fucking love spending $700 on a laptop only for it to not fucking work and start freezing immediately after turning it on?11

Once made simple .bat file that opens itself.
Changed the icon to Internet Explorer(yea i know what you are thinking but it was like 2003 or smt.)
Victim clicks the shortcut.
BANG! Endless loop of same application eventually freezing everything.

I'm going on vacation next week, and all I need to do before then is finish up my three tickets. Two of them are done save a code review comment that amounts to combining two migrations -- 30 seconds of work. The other amounts to some research, then including some new images and passing it off to QA.
I finish the migrations, and run the fast migration script -- should take 10 minutes. I come back half an hour later, and it's sitting there, frozen. Whatever; I'll kill it and start it again. Failure: database doesn't exist. whatever, `mysql` `create database misery;` rerun. Frozen. FINE. I'll do the proper, longer script. Recreate the db, run the script.... STILL GODDAMN FREEZING.
WHATEVER.
Research time.
I switch branches, follow the code, and look for any reference to the images, asset directory, anything. There are none. I analyze the data we're sending to the third party (Apple); no references there either, yet they appear on-device. I scour the code for references for hours; none except for one ref in google-specific code. I grep every file in the entire codebase for any reference (another half hour) and find only that one ref. I give up. It works, somehow, and the how doesn't matter. I can just replace the images and all should be well. If it isn't, it will be super obvious during QA.
So... I'll just bug product for the new images, add them, and push. No need to run specs if all that's changed is some assets. I ask the lead product goon, and .... Slack shits the bed. The outage lasts for two hours and change.
Meanwhile, I'm still trying to run db migrations. shit keeps hanging.
Slack eventually comes back, and ... Mr. Product is long gone. fine, it's late, and I can't blame him for leaving for the night. I'll just do it tomorrow.
I make a drink. and another.
hard horchata is amazing. Sheelin white chocolate is amazing. Rum and Kahlua and milk is kind of amazing too. I'm on an alcoholic milk kick; sue me.
I randomly decide to switch branches and start the migration script again, because why not? I'm not doing anything else anyway. and while I'm at it, I randomly Slack again.
Hey, Product dude messaged me. He's totally confused as to what i want, and says "All I created was {exact thing i fucking asked for}". sfjaskfj. He asks for the current images so he can "noodle" on it and ofc realize that they're the same fucking things, and that all he needs to provide is the new "hero" banner. Just like I asked him for. whatever. I comply and send him the archive. he's offline for the night, and won't have the images "compiled" until tomorrow anyway. Back to drinking.
But before then, what about that migration I started? I check on it. it's fucking frozen. Because of course it fucking is.
I HAD FIFTEEN MINUTES OF FUCKING WORK TODAY, AND I WOULD BE DONE FOR NEARLY THREE FUCKING WEEKS.
UGH!6 -
-10C winter is unpleasant. -20C winter is dangerous.
-40C winter is cruel. This was the reality of living in Komi Republic — the place I was born in.
Winters there combine extreme dryness with extreme cold. Steel on steel always sparks — gotta be careful at gas stations. Because there is no wind, you don’t actually feel like you’re freezing until it’s too late. If you’re drunk — and everyone there was drunk — you’re walking home, you see a bench, you think: “I’ll just rest for five minutes, no big deal”, and you’re found frozen to death the following morning.
My grandpa once forgot one year old me on the street at night, while — you guessed it — going to get something to drink. I spent something like three hours out there.
I barely made it. Now, my legs don’t feel cold anymore.7 -
Mfw you try out Atom and it crashes the moment you open anything even slightly big. Then you try to close it out and reopen it but it decides it should start off right where you left it-suspended in time... doing absolutely nothing.
On another note, it looks beautiful, has many extensions, and is highly customizable but it gets bogged down so quickly.8 -
Soooo.... It's almost summer alright.. Centralized heating is long gone already and they forecast +1C tonight.
I mean I do have to survive... Guess I'm keeping this overnight

Got a 1 day of alone time :) 8 hours WFH ant then the (almost) whole evening was MINE. Guess how it went :)
Coding until 2am and falling asleep on my keyboard, waking up on a cold lappy at 5am bcz its battery died and its aluminium frame was freaking freezing.
I know right? That was an awesome evening! I've managed to catch and fix some nasty bugs!5 -
Windows is weird. Flagging a fully functioning game application as (Not Responding). It's not even lagging or freezing. It's just. Working. Perfectly.

Fuck me sideways. I work for a small business doing most of their IT work, a lot of which is in-house software development. Today I was working on a feature of our employee schedule system that I wrote and for the last couple of hours, my laptop (which is my dev machine) kept freezing up on me every ten minutes or so... 😬
Well, I finally found the cause, but only after running apt-get update/upgrade to see if updating fixed the issue. I haven't updated in a LONG time... Productivity is not on the agenda for today I suppose.

My office gets seriously freezing at night 😐 stupid uk and its freezing nights 🙄
Really hard to program when it's near freezing
9 -
Although it's still freezing here (0C) finally some nice sunlight... so finally took a moment to take it all in.
Even with all the "problems" and stress I've been feeling the last few weeks, just looking around now, my only thought is "You know what? Life ain't so bad..."

What if I could focus on coding 🤔 instead of
• meetings
• bureaucracy
• freezing in my apartment
• asking dumb questions
• procrastinating4 -
So my Dell laptop has been freezing for a couple of weeks.
I thought it was the Slack desktop app that was causing it, so I uninstalled it. Still froze.
So I did a whole bunch of things on it to try to fix it, even restarting Windows 10. Still froze.
Then I thought it was the Dropbox app that was causing it, so I disabled it from starting up when I turn on the laptop. For a while, the laptop didn't freeze.
Then my desktop computer started freezing too from time to time. I was like, "WTF!"
It could be the Windows Update that's causing it, because there was an update going on around the time the freeze-ups happened. Now my laptop is on the "Getting Windows ready, Don't turn off your computer" screen after hard-booting it.4 -
NSA is seriously hiring on SO. Even with happy YouTube video under it. Like nothing is happening.

Is there any other software more fucking bloated than Skype? Fuck you Skype, for constantly freezing everytime I start chatting, making me take my precious hands off my precious keyboard and use the fucking...... __mouse__ to fucking click into the text box, THEN start chatting. Part two of: a day off an iOS developer life:
1. App crashed and stack trace gives no info in which file it happened, I have a generic table view cell that is used in so many places and Xcode just wrote: xcell does not support key value.
2. Mac freezing when Xcode is creating IPA file thanks to a new feature in Xcode 9 (Mac freezing is the new feature, even mouse pointer doesn't move -.-)
3. Let's check the value of this class property, Xcode: fuck off and either print it in console (after hitting a break point) or expand that shitty tree at the bottom to reach your class property!
An advice: never click jump to definition when Xcode is indexing, it will either freezing Xcode or crash it.

Did I ever tell anyone how much I hate phone interviews? I have had them where people were on speaker phone and I could hardly understand them, foreign accents I could not understand or people reading questions off of the internet. I usually have to do these while walking around the parking lot on my job. My hands and ears freezing in the cold or 100+ degrees in the summer. I just hate it. Now I feel better. Oh yeah I have a country accent so I am doomed from the start anyway. ByVal or ByRef ? Difference between abstract and interface? Here we go again.

Just set up my own IoT device for free thanks to the guys at Losant.
I met them at codestock a couple years ago. They were running a workshop with some Adafruit boards and at the time I had never seen anything like Arduinos before. I was fascinated. So I walked up and asked about it. They said they sold the chips just to demo their IoT stuff. I said I'd buy one. I then waited like 40 minutes for them to get their card reader working. They gave up and handed it to me, gratis. That started my dive into electronics from programming.
Few years later, I needed a remote temperature sensor to make sure a certain unattended appliance never got below freezing. I suddenly remembered that kit (now buried under my heaping stash of electronics), followed the tutorials, and had the exact thing I needed up and running in like a few hours, with all the bells and whistles I could want. And for free.
The icing on the cake here? I went on their website to look at a kit to replace it. I found one with even more goodies in it, and the entire kit cost less than the cost to go to adafruit and buy just the board alone.
Thanks Losant for being awesome. If you wanna do IoT anything, look em up. -
I don't know If I should blame Gradle and the Android emulator for my computer freezing (cuz out of memory), or I should blame myself for not having a powerfull enough comouter?12

Oracle, please get your crap together.
If you really wanted to make an amazing replacement for Java swing, you could have made the scene builder application for javafx not crash every 15 minutes on macOS. Seriously. I can't go more than a half hour without it freezing up and/or having the window disappear, never to open again. I get that it's a complicated program, but it's 10 YEARS OLD. It should have been stable by now.4 -
Work as a Dev in telecoms company that announced they had profited in the year despite the pandemic but were now... still freezing all salary increases and bonuses in case it might go badly. Not even inflation increase and no mention when it will be reviewed.

A common and random thought I have:
A lot of units that humans use are either needlessly arbitrary or based on something weird. Like Fahrenheit. That shit is weird! 0°F is the freezing point of a water and salt solution. What a weird fucking thing to use!
But also, I like Fahrenheit more. Probably because it's what I was raised with and switching is tedious (though I'm trying. I'd like to use metric more), but also because one degree F is a smaller, more precise change. You can describe more accuracy without decimals.
On the other hand I prefer metric for length. Centimeters, and centimeters are way more precise and way less confusing than inches and .... 1/8th inches? Who the fuck decided on 1/8ths?!
Which brings me to my common thought:
If you look at a Unix timestamp, you can approximate somewhat when it happened. Knowing the current timestamp and a few reference points you can see RELATIVELY what a epoch stamp translates to. A few days ago, an hr ago, 2014ish.
This leads me to think that if we actually taught from a young age to think in epoch as a unit (not as a replacement to normal date formats but as a secondary at first) that we could just naturally read epoch time in the same manner we read dates like "28/01/2006 14:24:10 UTC"
In your brain you automatically know how old you were when that timestamp happened. What grade/job and where you lived at the time. What season it was. You know how far into the day it was, a little before lunch (or after or whatever, your time zone will vary). Now try with 1138458250. I can usually get roughly the year, and month if I really think about it, but that's it. And it takes much more effort
I'm sure there's other units we could benefit from but epoch is the one that usually brings this to mind for me.13 -

1. It's one of those few times in life that listening to Lq's Numb doesn't make me feel less anxious. Or Somewhere I Belong. Either way, anxiety levels are on all time high.
2. I have completely lost appetite. Usually at this point in time I'd go to doctor and ask for Xanax or something similar, to chill for a few days. But covid. I ain't going to any clinic, plus, ain't nobody got time for that.
3. On top of everything, I am also PMSing. The lack of energy, times n. (n>10)
4. Struggling to get out of bed for hours is now a reality.
5. I'm glad ("glad" is exaggeration tho) this will pass in a few weeks. I am hanging on to that hope and experience tells me it will pass. But my feelings are like "nah, we doomed. Let's just run away. Or just sleep until it all passes or we die of starvation."
6. My brain must work for the next few days. If I have to push it by drowning it in sugar, I will. But I'm also obese rn. Well, I guess it's "Hello diabetes!".
7. My hands and feet are cold. Like, freezing cold. Meanwhile, the rest of me is sweating. This sucks. Ngl.
8. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle. Like, those last stabby stabs moments in a battle where you know you're gonna fall down soon. I know this feeling of doom and gloom is PMS related, but it's there. I have no solution for that aside from nicotine and sugar.
9. I can't even cry. Which is sad.
... Do you see what's happening there? That's the loop I'm in.5 -
Now i think Microsoft just want to use the win 10 users as testers.
After getting anniversary update windows started showing application not responding message for the FUCKING WINDOWS itself .
like if The OS itself is not responding shouldn't it just show BSOD rather than freezing?
Combined with the fact that it is almost impossible to go into recovery mode without the shift+restart , it just wasted a WHOLE DAY .
And my laptop(lenovo Z50-70) has pretty common hardware.
I learned my lesson and deferred Updates But for Some versions of windows That's not even an option.6 -

Had a task of service discovery, went through following phases:
1. UDP broadcast
2. Wait why not Bonjour?
3. JmDNS for desktop works great
4. Android NSD on Lollipop, this is easy
5. Kitkat WTF..!! Why did you put it there when it's so buggy.
6. Replaced Android NSD with JmDNS and it's great
7. Network switching on Android... done
8. Wait how are others doing it.. JmmDNS.. awesome.. fuck not working...
9. Read mDNSJava is much faster... replace JmDNS.. why haven't they uploaded parent pom on repo
10. mDNSJava freezing my Android device... revert to JmDNS
11. Let's see if it works with Wifi Direct.... Come on why aren't you working...

Got a new gaming laptop a couple weeks ago.
Was using Manjaro on my previous laptop and it gave me headaches. Random freezing, random shutdowns, etc. I tried several distros but every time I got frustrated. I guess that laptop didn't support Linux distros very well.

Mozilla, can you release your stupid UI updates once they're actually out of beta? The UI seems fine I guess, I don't care.
But why the fuck is the browser freezing up at least twice a day now? And why the fuck does it then restart with 1-2 fewer tabs but an additional tab that I had open half a week ago?
Maybe next time don't fire a quarter of your employees and then pay out the gain to your shitty CEO. If I wanted crashing browsers by shady companies there would be enough competition.1 -
Do you guys still see the relevance of using code freezing instead of just properly managing versions, repositories and branches in a cyclical manner, given how advanced software practices and tools are supposed to be?
To give some context, the company I work for uses the complete trash project management practice of asking teams to work on a sprint basis, but there is still a quarterly milestone and code freeze to commit to and it's where shit hits the fan.
Development teams rush features at the end of the quarter because they had to commit at the very least to a 6 months in advance planning (lol?) and turns out, not being able to design and investigate properly a feature combined with inflexible timelines has high chances to fail. So in the end, features are half-assed and QA has barely any time to test it out thoroughly. Anyways, by the time QA raises some concerns about a few major bugs, it's already code freeze time. But it's cool, we will just include these bug fixes and some new features in the following patches. Some real good symver, mate!
Of course, it sure does not help that teams stopped using submodules because git is too hard apparently, so we are stuck with +10Gb piece of trash monolithic repository and it's hell to manage, especially when fuckfaces merges untested code on the main branches. I can't blame Devops for ragequitting if they do.
To me, it's just some management bullshit and the whole process, IMO, belongs to fucking trash along with a few project managers... but I could always be wrong given my limited insight.
Anyways, I just wanted to discuss this subject because so far I cannot see code freezing being anything else than an outdated waterfall practice to appease investors and high management on timelines.8 -

So, for a few months, as my finals are comming near, I was wondering is it a good idea to re-format my SSD and put Ubuntu on my laptop.
Reason? So I can't play games on my laptop and focus more on coding.
Downloaded Ubuntu, format, install, I was happy.
Soon as it installed, I downloaded all the sht I need (slack, discord, VSCode, nodejs, pixie dust and unicorns...), and did a 10 minute setup so the OS feels "nice".
After few hours of "trying" to work, I noticed it runs rather slow (vscode keeps freezing, app I'm developing stutters in chrome...), so maybe Ubuntu is being a douche to my laptop.
Downloaded xubuntu, did mostly the same (less work has to be done since xubuntu feels nicer than ubuntu (thanks xfce (mouse <3)), and started doing the same.
I realised that I can't use any of my Logitech stuff (mouse, headset (and by "can't use, I mean I can't use the Logiteh gaming software to set the DPI, mouse speed, buttons, nor set up the headset, so they sound like jack shit)).
Frustrated, I went to fix all the stuff manualy, with no success.
Also, the OS froze 3 times completely.
Luckly, I made a whole Windows 10 backup so I've spent a few hours more just waiting for it to restore.
Oh, did I mention I can't tether my Android device internet via usb on ubuntu?
Do I have so much to learn or this is how my life is going to look like when I start working as a developer?

Here I am, 3:18 am, maybe I won't sleep today either, I hope I do... I'm going on with my uni project, a data science project. I've been wasting hours trying to understand why the fUcK 2 dataframes give me substantially different performances when they fucking shouldn't, since they should be the fUcKing sAmE. But apparently pandas is making fun of me... it seems that if you do something like:
df=original_df.loc[:, [some_cols]]
and some columns in [some_cols] don't exist in original_df, pandas won't give a shit and create a NaN column, or 0 based on how many virgin leprechauns ate bananas for Thanksgiving.
Plus I'm fucking freezing, in this apartment the heating system turns off at 23:59, it makes sense if you're in the fucking bed where you'll be fucking warm.
I miss software development... I wanna finish this MSc as soon as possible.
And here I am, listening to post-rock, writing jupyter notebooks, trying to be fucking positive.
It's not like I hate data science (maybe?), but I'm burnout.
Maybe I'll rewatch another time the video of Mr Robot with the song Where Is My Mind.

Complaining about "header already sent". I wonder why.
Solution: no permission to chmod the file system, thus printing an error to the output. That error provokes freezing the header, thus the header cannot be written anymore...

Trying out Gnome 3 again just to see how things have evolved. How can something crash and freeze so often combined with strange slowness. I like GTK+ and other DE's using that, and a long time ago Gnome was a nice thing. Now it might look good in some aspect but in other aspects it is just strange how they have decided to do things and how often they change things between each release. And then, stop freezing and being so damn slow.1

The rear ducking continues. We've built a reliable translator in the dumbest fucking way possible, it's just lovely. I simply reused the structure for feeding data to the VM assembler, an array of arrays, where there's one array of (ins [args]) per node in the parse tree.
It's nice because nodes can be solved out of order without affecting the actual sequence in which the instructions are output. And if one statement (node) equals multiple instructions, you just push multiple entries to the corresponding array, or push nothing if you need to output nothing. Easy as goblin pie.
This is enough to convert an input language to the assembly-like intermediate representation we use for the virtual machine. So then there's doing it backwards: walk the same array of arrays, and map those virtual instructions to a physical architechture. I guess I could do the encoding to native binary myself, it'd certainly be interesting to try, but I'm burnt-out already so I'll just use fasm for now.
Initial test: wrote a test program in my own stupid language, ran the translator, dump output to file, assemble that with fasm, run with r2 -d.
Crashes? No.
Runs fine? Yes and no.
For fuck's sake, I don't have syscalls. Mainly because the VM doesn't have an operating system, lmao. I was testing virtual programs by just freezing state, terminating, then dumping the fucking registers and stack to the console, we have no I/O to speak of. Not even a real 'exit', VM handles that by reading a return value every step like a mentally damaged son of a bitch.
So anyway, I manually paste the linux mambo, you know:
mov rax,60
mov rdi,0
syscall
And NOW our program can end execution without crashing.
Okay then, so does the test code work correctly?
** DRUM ROLL **
Yes.
Ladies and gentlemen, mother fucking PESO is now a compiled language, and going forward I will be expectantly receiving your marriage proposals for reviewing. Oh, but not so fast, we still need a frontend...
Well, we'll handle that in the next few days. I'm just glad to be *nearly* finished with this fucking compiler, I want nothing to do with anything else ever, but we know that's not going to happen, so Lord please end my pain.

My computer seems to get more ane more trouble to handle the React part of my project, 16go ram doesn't seem enough to keep the project's reload fluid. (Actually had to hard reboot the computer a few minutes ago because of total freeze)
I don't know if this is because of Material-UI, the project being to big or me not having done something, even though I have my suspicions about MUI. I had to switch to Visual Studio Code (really nice IDE once the basic plugins are installed btw), but dude seems to have hard times too.
Is there a limit to how big a React handled project should be? Am I fucking something up?10 -

I've noticed two things with the app after I went to Android P/9:

First issue with Manjaro. I am not sure when it begun, but now, every single time linux uses the SWAP file, the entire system stays unresponsive, freezing (not even the mouse moves), so I need to wait until it finishes using the SWAP to be able to use it again.
I have 16GB RAM and I was not noticing that, but for some reason, Chromium started to use a little bit of the SWAP when the Hardware Acceleration were turned on and the mouses started to stop moving for a few ms/seconds.
So I tried it out: opened a VM with 8GB RAM and done, my PC were frozen for about 10 minutes, until I were able to use it again.
When I turn on the swap file, everything works fine again, even the VM. It does not matters with the SWAP is on a SSD or not.12 -

I had that installation of windows 3 to 4 years now.
I'm using a third party software for backup so everyday at 23:00 the backup service starts. The image is stored on a second HDD.
First i want to point out that i set up the windows maintenance around that time too. So any updates should occur then and i remember finding my PC at login screen couple of times meaning a restart had taken place.
Everything was fine all this time.
Couple of days ago i returned home late around 2 am to find a blue screen saying that the computer did not boot property the last time. Had two options, just restart or try to fix.
Of course i will fix it, come on.
Everything failed. Everything. Even safe mode won't boot.
Who cares i have the back up system image. Boot from the bootable usb stick and restore. Well nothing is happening. It's just freezing at 5%. Cancel. Try again. Cancel. Verify the image. Success! Try again! Nothing.
Damn. Im really tired, off to bed.
Woke up tried fixing and restore but to no avail.
Fuck it i will just install Windows fresh. I was set up after an hour or so installed the necessary drivers and such. Let's see that image of any file i want to get back.
Image is corrupted. What the fuck? How? Damn it. Mount and recovery also failed.
That's it. I did not lose any important files. I save everything on a different drive and also the backup.
But I'm wondering what had gone wrong.
My guess windows rebooted when the backup was running. If that's the case shouldn't be a check if such service is running?2 -
Does anybody experience the app freezing (and freezing the phone) and then crashing after some time?

I wonder sometimes is maybe management just like. Forgot that I'm my partner's primary transportation or something. I cannot imagine how else they would have approved putting them on a 4p-1a shift where they are alone and have no other transportation options save for me, their roommate who has to be up at 6a M-F, or walking home. But like it's 1a and actually freezing outside, so...
I dunno, maybe it's the sleep-deprivation, but it seems to me like they didn't think very hard about this, despite being made well aware a month or better in advance, and clearly understanding it then since HR had me take them for their drug test just before they were hired on because they didn't have another available ride.
But, then too, this is the same management and HR that left my partner without "official" access to clean drinking water or a working bathroom for almost 3 weeks because they delayed getting them a door code, so I'm not sure what I expected, exactly 😒4 -
Aaaaghh this google chrome is killing me, why you always freezing when i really fucking need you right at the time2

Had to face the music and make the jump from Ubuntu 22.04 to Fedora 36. Am I have to say it’s been night and day so far. Everything is snappier. Yeah dnf is very slow in comparison to apt but there’s changes you can make to speed things up and the nifty terminal interface is a great change and helps to make up for the speed issues.
Came with Python 3.10 installed, Gnome and gtk4 apps are nice, fluid and up to date and the random slowdowns, freezing and restarts of Ubuntu running the version of Gnome are nonexistent.
For the life of me I can’t see why Ubuntu would drop the ball like this. I have a Dell XPS 13 developer edition and this is the best it’s ever ran. Even wifi connectivity is better despite of the crap WiFi card that ships with this machine.
I want to love this version and while it is the most graphical appealing and functional version of Ubuntu I’ve ever used. The memory management issues make it damn near unusable.9 -

Just these little things that can drive you insane: TCP should guarantee that the order of packages is preserved, but somehow through a splitting of the message I get them files mangled. OK, might be our own fault, but then I just do a simple grep on the log file, but it won't display anything if I escape the f** dot.
Google it. No I didn't do it wrong, try different quotes. Nothing. Why then does it display the thing if I delete the dot?

In 2021, I invested $220,000 worth of Bitcoin in a high-yield crypto scheme, hoping for quick returns. But it turned out to be a scam—my funds vanished, and the platform disappeared. Devastated, I tried every legal means to recover my money but hit dead ends. Then, I discovered Cyber Codex Revolution, a cutting-edge blockchain forensic and asset recovery firm. Skeptical but desperate, I reached out. Their team of expert hackers and investigators analyzed the scam’s digital footprint, tracing my Bitcoin through multiple wallets. Using advanced blockchain tracking tools, they identified the fraudsters’ weak points. Within weeks, Cyber Codex Revolution executed a smart contract exploit, freezing the stolen funds in a decentralized exchange. Through legal pressure and strategic negotiations, they recovered 85% of my Bitcoin around $187,000—and transferred it back to my secure wallet. Thanks to their expertise, I regained most of my lost fortune. Cyber Codex Revolution didn’t just restore my crypto—they restored my hope in justice within the decentralized world

The air in my chocolate lab still smells like cocoa and regret. I’d spent years perfecting single-origin truffles, roasting beans until they gleamed like obsidian, and stashing Bitcoin profits in a wallet I’d named “Cocoa Reserve.” That wallet held $265,000, a golden ticket to expand my empire with a flagship store in Brussels. And then, with one click on a spoofed bill labeled "Belgian Chocolate Molds – Urgent Payment," my crypto was gone faster than a caramel drip on a hotplate. The swindle was a masterclass of nastiness. I'd been fooled by digital drag-and-drop. My heart sank as I watched the transaction confirmation flash tauntingly on-screen a spinning wheel of death where my life's work once dwelled. My accountant hyperventilated into a bag of cocoa nibs. My CFO threatened to "quit and become a beekeeper." And me? I stared into the blockchain explorer, tracing my Bitcoin's path through a hydra of mixers and offshore wallets, each one a nail in my entrepreneurial coffin. A midnight Slack rant in a food founders' group summoned a lifeline: Digital Tech Guard Recovery. Their name materialized between messages about shelf-stable ganache and FDA audits. Skeptical but spiraling, I slid into their DMs like a kid begging for a Halloween candy refill. Within hours, their team examined the theft with the finesse of a chocolatier tempering couverture. Digital's forensic team became my avengers in hoodies. They collaborated with regulators from four countries, subpoenaing exchanges and freezing accounts mid-launder. The scammers, it turned out, had gotten greedy, siphoning funds into a stable coin wallet that had been flagged for "excessive hot sauce purchases" (no, really). Thirteen days later, I received a PDF titled "Recovery Complete" and a screenshot of my recovered wallet. No fanfare, no blare of trumpet, just the subdued hum of justice served cold, like a dark chocolate gelato. Digital Tech Guard Recovery not only saved my nest egg; they unraveled a fraud ring that is now in Interpol's sights. My Brussels boutique opens next spring, its safes guarded by triple-authentication and a paranoia so thick you could cut it into bonbons. I've even added a company motto: "Trust no one especially if they claim to sell Belgian molds." If your crypto dissolves into the digital ether, skip the panic attack. Call the Digital. They're the magic between catastrophe and resiliency. Just maybe screen your vendors twice, and keep the cocoa nibs handy for emergencies.1 -
ETHEREUM AND USDT RECOVERY EXPERT- HIRE SALVAGE ASSET RECOVERY
The moment my Bitcoin wallet froze mid-transfer, stranding $410,000 in cryptographic limbo, I felt centuries of history slip through my fingers. That balance wasn’t just wealth; it was a lifeline for forgotten libraries, their cracked marble floors and water-stained manuscripts waiting to breathe again. The migration glitch struck like a corrupted index: one second, funds flowed smoothly; the next, the transaction hung “Unconfirmed,” its ID number mocking me in glowing red. Days bled into weeks as support tickets evaporated into corporate ether. I’d haunt the stacks of my local library, tracing fingers over brittle Dickens volumes, whispering, “I’m sorry,” to ghosts of scholars past. Then, Marian—a silver-haired librarian with a crypto wallet tucked beside her ledger found me slumped at a mahogany study carrel. “You’ve got the blockchain stare,” she murmured, pressing a Post-it into my palm.
Salvage Asset Recovery. “They resurrected my nephew’s Ethereum after a smart contract imploded. Go.”
I emailed them at midnight, my screen’s blue glare mixing with moonlight through stained-glass windows. By dawn, their engineers had dissected the disaster. The glitch, they explained, wasn’t a hack but a protocol mismatch, a handshake between wallet versions that failed mid-encryption, freezing funds like a book jammed in a pneumatic tube. “Your Bitcoin isn’t lost,” assured a specialist named Leo. “It’s stuck in a cryptographic limbo. We’ll debug the transaction layer by layer.”
Thirteen days of nerve-shredding limbo followed. I’d refresh blockchain explorers obsessively, clinging to updates: “Reverse-engineering OP_RETURN outputs…” “Bypassing nonce errors—progress at 72%...” My library blueprints, quotes for climate-controlled archives, plans for AR-guided tours sat untouched, their ink fading under my doubt. Then, on a frostbitten morning, the email arrived: “Transaction invalidated. Funds restored.” I watched, trembling, as my wallet repopulated $410,000 glowing like a Gutenberg Bible under museum lights.
Salvage Asset Recovery didn’t just reclaim my Bitcoin; they salvaged a bridge between past and future. Today, the first restored library stands in a 19th-century bank building, its vault now a digital archive where blockchain ledgers track preservation efforts. Patrons sip fair-trade coffee under vaulted ceilings, swiping NFTs that unlock rare manuscript scans, a symbiosis of parchment and Python code.
These assets are more than technicians; they’re custodians of legacy. When code fails, they speak its dead languages, reviving what the digital world dismisses as lost. And to Marian, who now hosts Bitcoin literacy workshops between poetry readings, you were the guardian angel this techno-hermit didn’t know to pray for.
If your crypto dreams stall mid-flight, summon Salvage Asset Recovery. They’ll rewrite the code, rebuild the bridge, and ensure history never becomes a footnote. All thanks to Salvage Asset Recovery- their contact info

How to Recover Money from a Binary Options Scam: A Guide with Century Web Recovery
Falling victim to a binary options scam can be a devastating experience, leaving you feeling helpless and financially ruined. Fortunately, there is hope. Century Web Recovery specializes in helping individuals recover funds lost to such scams. Here’s how they can assist you in reclaiming your money.
Understanding Binary Options Scams
Binary options scams lure investors with promises of high returns and minimal risk. Victims are often contacted by seemingly professional brokers who convince them to invest significant sums of money. Once the investment is made, the scammers block access to accounts, making it impossible to withdraw funds or contact the company.
Steps to Recover Your Funds
1. Initial Consultation
Century Web Recovery begins with a no-obligation consultation. They gather information about the incident, including the nature of the scam, the amount lost, and the details of the transactions. This helps them understand the specific circumstances of your case.
2. Preliminary Assessment
They conduct a preliminary assessment to determine the feasibility of recovering your funds. This involves evaluating the available information and considering the jurisdictions involved. While full recovery is rare, their goal is to recover as much as possible.
3. Engagement Agreement
If they believe recovery is possible, Century Web Recovery will proceed with an engagement agreement. This outlines the scope of services, fee structures, and any necessary legal disclaimers. A retainer fee may be required, which is a small percentage of the estimated recovery fees.
4. Detailed Investigation and Blockchain Analysis
The core of their recovery efforts lies in detailed investigation and blockchain analysis. Century Web Recovery uses advanced tools to trace transactions and identify the wallets where stolen funds have been moved. They monitor these wallets to track any movements of the funds.
5. Legal Process: Freezing and Recovery of Assets
If the stolen funds are identified in a compliant exchange, Century Web Recovery collaborates with legal counsel to file legal injunctions to freeze the assets. They navigate the complex legal landscape, working to substantiate the ownership of the stolen funds and recover them through court proceedings.
6. Return of Funds
Once the legal process is successfully completed, the recovered funds are returned to the rightful owner. Century Web Recovery assists in setting up secure crypto custody solutions to ensure the recovered assets are safely stored.
Why Choose Century Web Recovery?
Century Web Recovery operates within legal and ethical boundaries, ensuring that all recovery efforts comply with international regulations. They use legitimate methods and do not promise unrealistic outcomes, maintaining transparency throughout the process.
Victims of binary options scams can trust Century Web Recovery to provide expert assistance in recovering lost funds. Their comprehensive approach, combining technical expertise and legal prowess, offers the best chance for successful recovery.

Flying over mountain tops and cruising above crystal blue oceans, I capture the world from a drone's-eye view. Precision is my business, both in cinematography and in safeguarding my finances. That is, until the day both crashed, literally. I had securely saved $480,000 in Bitcoin on a hardware wallet stored safely inside my drone case. My plan was foolproof. Or so I thought. It was a standard flight over a picturesque Icelandic lake. The sun was setting impeccably over the rolling water, that Holy Grail of cinematic gold. I was midway through the flight, controlling the drone with the finesse of a virtuoso, when a savage North Atlantic gust of wind turned my concerto into a catastrophe movie. My drone dropped from the sky with a dramatic splash that would have won an award for best special effect if it was not my wallet sinking along with it.Cue panic. I was on the lakeshore, staring into the void, balancing the odds of swimming into hypothermia with the prospect of recovering my digital fortune. Spoiler alert: I opted for hypothermia. Three freezing dives later, I surfaced empty-handed and 100% convinced I had just donated my Bitcoin to Poseidon. Defeated, trembling, and contemplating a career change, I recalled another pilot at a tech conference raving about SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL. Desperation led me to call, still wrapped in a towel like a damp burrito. From that first call, their crew reacted to my situation as though it was a search-and-rescue mission. Not only were they tech-savvy, they knew my universe, my language, my horror. With a blend of satellite positioning, sonar mapping, and some technological Spartan that I still don't fully understand, they helped pinpoint the approximate location of my underwater drone. More incredibly, they remotely pulled the wallet details from my water-logged device, defying the laws of nature and logic. Two weeks later, they sent my Bitcoin back to me, like returning a set of lost car keys. I nearly cried. No, wait, I actually cried. Tears of happiness. My drone is in the air again today, my wallet is securely backed up (on land), and my faith in humanity (and technology) is soaring. SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL, not only did you retrieve my Bitcoin, you restored my sanity. Count me as your forever flying ambassador.

LEGITIMATE CRYPTO RECOVERY EXPERT IN USA; CYBER CONSTABLE INTELLIGENCE STANDS ABOVE THE REST
Flying a Boeing 787? Piece of cake. Decrypting a malfunctioning Trevor wallet? That's nosediving into chaos. I have done emergency landings, handled unpredictable weather, and passengers that think they can open the emergency exit during flight. But nothing, not even years of aviation training, prepared me for the moment my cold storage wallet refused to recognize my PIN. I knew I was punching in what was correct, but Trevor stared back at me like I was an imposter in my own cockpit.
At first, I thought it was a simple mistake. Perhaps fat fingers? A misremembered digit? But after several attempts, I realized something was seriously wrong. The more I tried, the more the wallet locked me out, and it dawned on me harder than a rogue crosswind: My $750,000 worth of Bitcoin was slipping through my fingers.
I did what any reasonable person would do in such a situation-panicked. Then came the hours of browsing through forums, watching tutorials, and trying every trick in the book. One suggested freezing my device, another insisted on some arcana firmware rollback method. Nothing worked. At this point, I had all but thrown myself at the mercy of the fates.
Long-haul flight, cruising at 36,000 feet- that is where I happened upon Cyber Constable Intelligence. I was skeptical, but desperation makes you reconsider everything: after all, if the device manufacturer couldn't help me out, how on earth could these guys? The moment I landed, I called them.
From the first conversation I had with them, I knew I had chosen rightly. Their team was professional, knowledgeable, and reassuring in explaining the forensic recovery process-how it all works in a no-nonsense explanation with no vague tech jargon or false promises.
Within just five days, they had bypassed the PIN problem, restored my Bitcoin, and pointed out safety recommendations to make sure I would never find myself in this kind of situation again. Their work was faultless-a perfect landing.
I can fly through turbulence, respond to in-flight emergencies, and cross the world without breaking a sweat. But when it comes to rescuing locked Bitcoin from a malfunctioning cold storage wallet? That's a job for Cyber Constable Intelligence. If your crypto is in freefall, don't reach for the eject button-call them, and they'll get you flying again.-.

Just last month, I passed through what every crypto investor dreads. I lost 22 BTC to a sophisticated fake Bitcoin wallet app. It was a brutal and emotional blow. I had worked for years to build up that amount, only to watch it vanish in a matter of minutes. The scam was so convincing that I didn’t realize what had happened until it was too late. At first, I was overwhelmed with hopelessness, convinced I would never see my funds again. But then I discovered PASSCODE CYBER RECOVERY, and everything changed. PASSCODE CYBER RECOVERY is a specialized team of cryptocurrency investigators who focus on recovering stolen or lost crypto assets. From the very first interaction, they were professional, empathetic, and transparent about what the process would involve. They didn’t make unrealistic promises, but they assured me they would do everything in their power to help. Their team began by reverse-engineering the malicious smart contract that had drained my wallet. They performed a deep dive into on-chain analysis, tracing the path of my stolen BTC through various blockchain networks. Using advanced Cryptocurrency forensics, they were able to pinpoint where my funds had been moved, which included several obscure Asian exchanges. Then came the negotiation stage, where they applied legal pressure and technical evidence to push these exchanges into freezing the accounts linked to the scammer. After nearly three intense weeks, PASSCODE CYBER RECOVERY pulled off what I thought was impossible: they successfully recovered 20.9 BTC, which is about 95% of what I lost. I was stunned and deeply grateful. This taught me two things. First, scams in the crypto world are more common and complex than most people realize. Recovery is possible but only if you act quickly and work with PASSCODE CYBER RECOVERY .If you or someone you know has been a victim of a crypto scam, don’t waste time in despair. I could never have imagined that some random Facebook groups would turn out to be my financial savior, but that is precisely how things happened following the accident when I erased the whole Bitcoin wallet by formatting the phone. It all began with what, at the time, seemed a simple phone reset. My phone had been on the fritz-apps moving slower than necessary, screens freezing on me-so I figured this factory reset was just what I needed. A responsible person I thought I had been, making sure my photo library, important files, and contacts were properly backed up online. What hadn't clicked, well, till now? It wasn't going to be in that backup-the crypto wallet, that is. The moment I booted up my "brand-new" phone and went to my wallet, my stomach just dropped. It was gone: All evidence of it vanished. My mind goes to: Had I written down my recovery phrase? Was there another backup somewhere? Spoiler alert: I had nothing. I freaked out. That wallet had about $80,000 worth of Bitcoin in it. Suddenly, I realized it was gone-unsalvageable. I spent hours Googling the solution, reading forum posts, and trying to reverse-engineer my mistake. Every attempt ended in frustration. It was then that I turned to Facebook. Desperate, I made a post in some niche crypto group I joined years ago but never really participated in. The answers were full of condolences, technical suggestions, and direct doom. Yet, there was this comment: This happened to me last year. Try HACK SAVVY TECH-they saved my funds." I looked up their page, read through dozens of positive reviews, and had nothing to lose. From the moment I reached out, they handled everything like pros: patiently walking me through this process, reassuring me that this wasn't an impossible case. That confidence gave me a degree of hope, but I braced for bad news. A few days later, I received that call: my Bitcoin was fully recovered. The relief was overwhelming. What I thought was a disaster turned into just a stressful hiccup—all thanks to HACK SAVVY TECH. Now, I have my funds back, a proper backup strategy, and a newfound appreciation for random Facebook groups. Lesson learned: never assume your data is safe.

My work laptop broke over the weekend and now I have to use a replacement device… (cue the horror film music) …with Windows 10! (no, not 3628800)
So far I've gone mad about 20 times, including white font on white background, Chrome freezing on login, blurry font, Edge and Bing being opened all the time, displaying the "Users" folder as "Benutzer", despite it not being named that, …
I thought I could avoid Windows 10, I'll leave this company in a few months anyway. But no, the old laptop decided to die with almost the worst possible timing. At least it wasn't early May, then I'll write my final exams, including a five-day-project.
Also, who thought it was a good idea to put the "End" button NOT at the end of the keyboard? I've remapped it on three of my four laptops so far (one already had this arrangement), but on this one I don't even have admin rights. So I press the wrong button every minute or so.1 -
