Everyday i used to spend an hour in the morning reading emails.
Until i made a script that reads all mails, parses to urgent/priorities/meetings etc. Then shows me a dashboard of everything. 1 hr turned to 20mins max.
Then i made a chatbot out of it and now i just talk to it everytime and gives me the rundown.
Gave me so much time to code instead of reading fucking emails.74 -
Android app update available! I wonder what they've changed? 🤔
Changelog: "We improved the app and made it better."
Well thanks. 🖕20 -
I FUCKING MADE IT GUYS! I JUST PASSED THE HARDEST COURSE AT UNIVERSITY WHICH IS ABOUT DATA STRUCTURES AND ALGORITHMS! I DRAGGED THIS WITH ME A WHOLE YEAR AND I JUST GOT THE NOTIFICATION THAT I MADE IT. I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY GUYS I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!!!24
-
Maybe I could get better bug reports from clients if I made them use this.
I wonder if it has Jira integration.5 -
"Remember that script you made a few years ago? How did you make it work with product x?"
Dude, I can barely remember how I brewed coffee this morning.7 -
I guess unix was made by pervs as I have to command it to Touch, Finger, Unzip, Strip, Mount, Fsck, Unmount and Sleep5
-
Learned Python by working 6 year with it. The first tool I made in my spare time was a porn playback helper.6
-
I made a game. By myself. Took me six months. I struggled to complete it. It was not a good game. I was nearly depressed at the end of the project. But I'm proud I was able to finish it and published it. It made me friends in the industry and it got me my first job. So yeah it was my most successfull project. 😊14
-
I wish my bachelor's degree would've been made out of soft paper so it wouldn't scratch too much when I wipe my ass with it :(4
-
I made a small Mac App some weeks ago and I just made it to 8th place on the Mac App Store in Germany.
This has always been a dream for me 😁10 -
So... I wanted to share something I made this weekend... 😁😁
Made an ls program which includes colors and icons! It is a work in progress and probably contains some bugs here and there, but I really wanted to share with you all.
The happiest thing to me about it is that I made it in pure C and had a blast creating it! It’s my first actual C project and it also made me realize that there is probably no language I can love more than C.
Take look if you are interested and tell me how it is 😊 suggestions and fixes are more than welcome 😁
https://github.com/Electrux/...
Just wanted to share the experience. Have a good day everyone! 😁33 -
Guuuys! I made it! I just got my first job in IT as a Junior Sys Admin at a Security/Pen Testing company. So happy right now. Just wanted to share with you. :D8
-
So I made this devRant logo for Forza Motorsport 7. It’s nothing perfect, but you can stick it to your bumber!19
-
I'm proud to announce a new project made by myself and @thejohnhoffer, that started on devrant.
We started collaborating after I made a rant about machine learning and, since then we've been working hard on a plain language blog that simplifies machine learning concepts.
We call it learn-blog.
Check it out at ironman5366.github.io/learn-blog15 -
Sleep deprivation may have made this funnier than it actually is, but I can't NOT laugh when I see it
Source: Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (smbc)4 -
So, I saw this on Reddit, and I thought about sharing it here...
What do you think? It's somewhat accurate, or it can have some changes?
(The Chaotic Good made me chuckle 😂)23 -
*burp* Me..Merry Christmas
I made a thing. It's called Claymore.
It's like lastPass, but with a bomb attached to it.
Its *burp* like, if you're like really paranoid about your passwords, you can just, you can just blow it all up.
Pro-Tip, if you run it on port 1337, it's extra sec-*burp*-ure.
Am I kidding? Maybe. I made this w/ booze, so.10 -
Yesterday i somehow drunk-coded my entire c++ homework, it runs great and its a guaranteed A but i dont remember how does it work so if they start asking questions theyll think i just had it made by someone7
-
!rant
And so it began.
I made debug duck-chan (with devrant-chan of course lol)
@No-one this is your fault xd18 -
Friend: "I made a really cool game!"
Me: "Awesome, what's language did you make it in?"
Friend: "...English"
-_-6 -
I thank whoever made the jsRant, a client for devrant to view in js looking style in browser. Teacher walked passed by and asked what i was doing. I said i was exploring the source of the newest javascript framework. He said what is the name. I said semicolonJS. He asked who made it. I said some person who has fox in his name did it.
Thanks everyone! I had some laughs after he walked passed by without noticing anything.7 -
"I made your static HTML pages into a dynamic site! Now just include <%Header%> instead of copy pasting that nav into every page!"
...1 week later...
"You made our website all crazy. None of the pages have headers in the source code but it still shows up by some kind of witchcraft. Put it back."2 -
"Do you know the HTML? I need an email template"
Nah, the website just fucking magically made itself, it was amazing.2 -

if i learned one thing from my internship it's "Just do it".
I always wanted to master parallax but didn't dare to. My boss then forced me into learning it. I made my own parallax script that day.4 -
So I was studying for a test using a quizlet my social studies teacher made, and I came across this gem. 99% sure my social studies teacher didn't read what it said/understand what it means.9
-
Fucking cache in browser made me think that code is still working untill I opened it in incognito.6
-
Made a program to list primes until stopped. I got to about 2 billion when it took 8 GB of RAM and I more or less had to stopped it.
Only took 10% of CPU though.13 -
Obviously the: "I feel like a god" feeling, when something i made works :)
(Even if it doesn't work the way it was supposed to lol)1 -
My life... Back to studying (haven't made it far through the book. Trying not to pretend I know it all)28
-
when I was first started out, I was trying to test out a file delete and renaming program I made. it deleted itself. never even knew how it happened. it was effective in deleting though.4
-
I had to edit it or else it would look boring af.
Just a cheap laptop
Btw: I made the photo and edit one week before knowing devRants wk119 will be devDeks xD12 -
After struggling for weeks with SSL settings I finally asked @linuxxx for help.
Guess what, he made it work in about 5 minutes!4 -
Made a simple college project using Node.Js, MongoDB, React... Wrote everything from scratch, starting from HTML to CSS and Routes even OAuth. No template was used.. Guess what teacher said...
She said I love the second project made using wordpress template because, "It looks amazing and beautiful"
One of the reasons why I hate college...11 -
Today I made like the dirtiest hack I ever made. I needed to convert people's birthdate into days (starting from 0), and then had to find out the oldest person. It didn't work, because the output was the youngest person... So instead fixing the mistakes in my code, I simply made the value be negative ¯\_(ツ)_/¯2
-
I`ve just found this file on my MacOS and it made me giggle a bit. Is it a common practice to leave out useless files in an os?6
-
Someone here linked the Gordon repository a couple of days ago and I made 3 issues on it.

Just found out out what people google about programmers...
the last one made my day. I think it was this feeling called "funny" hahajoke/meme google society made my day programmers what is 'feeling' we have no feelings *grr want brains!!* scared af is my boss using google3 -
oh man... I just spent 12 hours in the zone and made what was originally meant to be made by 4 developers in close to two weeks(coding in free time)
Aaand I also drank too much coffee...
And I've done it in Node.js which I basically never used before :D ...I applied my coding standards and habits that I use when writing Java and it went like butter... ES2015 is pretty ok actually 😊1 -
I finally did delete my more than 7 years old fb account!
It was really not easy. But I made it! :)5 -
Finally made the switch. Full-time Linux everywhere! I figured out that all games I play already have Linux support since some time^^
And it feels good! So fast *_*2 -
So today I made my first basic program in C++ from scratch that worked! After some troubleshooting.. But I thought of ways I could edit it and make it better!14
-
I made it to 700 ++'s
I can finally have the energy drink AND the coffee on my desk.
Finally I can live up to my name.18 -
Yo Guys🤓...Check out this game that I made as a part of learning Javascript. A simple combination of a 2d platformer and Flappy Bird.
Made it in like a month...Proud of me...
Tell me if you like it I want to work more on it...😆

My phone is my most reliable computer. It made it to 2000 hours of uptime before I restarted it to update.
Props to Android.6 -
Thought I made something cool with https://github.com/photu-app/...
but it backfired. Stupid ethics and self-righteousness.11 -
I dont like it when i have to edit an old code made by a previous developer, i dont want to touch that spaghet.1
-
The first time i made my own electron app, and saw it working and displaying live data the exact way i wanted it to be doing it.
At the same time, it was the first time i felt like been a real dev in all meanings. -
I overclocked my pc tonight... but it doesnt seem to have made a difference... :-S what am i doing wrong? :-S2
-
I'm just C# boy, born and raised in a .Net world ... Today I started some stuff with JavaScript, downloaded the JavaScript standard extension for using in Vs code... It made me do things...it made indent each new line by 2 spaces! Not 4 or a tab but 2! And then what really took the fucking biscuit, it said I couldn't end my statements with semi colons! I need a strong cup of tea and a sit after that shit. How is that at all useful to anyone!? It just made it make less sense!!!!10
-
I was teaching my fiancée how not to write duplicate code. After a while of me ranting about why you shouldn't do that she made a dostuff() method and dumped all the duplicate code into it.
I kinda like the result of that.
On that note, i finally made an account after lurking here for weeks. So, Hello!1 -
Today the 'restrict account' feature I made hit production. Restricted an account and got an angry email with broken english.
Funniest shit that happened today. Made me proud.
To top it off we might get free loadtesting lol16 -
The title of this email made me click it (more so since I was offline for an entire day) but this is what I found..9
-
So, I thought it was all made up by blue hair weirdos, but it looks like the IT world is sexist after all15
-
Making a Twitch chat bot withing four days after starting to learn programming and python.
The downside is that now that I look a it I feel a bit embarrassed with the mess I made. But hey, it works!1 -
News: New virus installs cryptocurrency miner on IoT devices.
Me: I hope it was worth the whole 37 cents they made.10 -
I once made a .less files of 400 lines and today I redid it completely,
The file is now only 40 lines long and readable again1 -
I made a game (rather mod) called "wake up".
I should trademark it and whenever someone says or writes "wake up", I sue them.7 -
So i made a "mini player" which is inspired by the windows 10 mini player! it turned out better than i expected7
-
I installed Arch Linux and IM LOVING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Learned so much already, best decision I’ve ever made17 -
I presented a graduation relevant project this week.
We re maked our school website. Our teachers liked it, the most students liked it too.
But at the beginning I made wrong decisions.
The guy who should design it made nothing and at the presentation, he told that you need a pencil and eraser to design a website.
A "friend" of mine should do the HTML/CSS part but instead of finish it, he made a not working search bar in JS and was like "I made this, it doesn't work and we don't need it but give me attention"
I hate working in a group.
Sorry for spelling mistakes, English is not my native language.4 -
Today I reached a point where I made an really bad looking, uneficient, unreadable function, but it works!, That's what counts right?!
Just kidding, I just couldn't fix it, hopefully the me from tomorrow will be smarter.7 -
!rant
I don't have a rubberduck so I'm using this origami dog that I made and glued it to my wall for "origami-dog-debugging"? I'm calling him Padfoot.6 -
Made me always think something like:
Code: should i delete it or just comment it out?
Files: should i delete this file or just rename it as .old?
OldHW: should i put it in the bin or i can recycle some parts?
Etc...... -
The worst mistake I made was using json files as a simple database.
The project was to be delivered the day before it was even ordered, so I had to take shortcuts.
I totally underestimated the popularity of the project, so all that file reading and writing made the server slow and sluggish. It also being submitted on a shared host, made it even worse.
In the end the host shut it down. I don't recall, but I guess I had to add that database support after all, the project being that popular...4 -
A co-worker on a gigantic PR i made:
"the worst thing about this pr is that while i was reviewing it, I forgot about my coffee and it turned cold. Otherwise good job!"1 -
It must really suck to be a malware dev... "Oh look, the recent changes i made to my cryptomalware made it work! Sadly project file are encrypted too. Lets start over."1
-
Windows. There, I said it.
3 years ago I got a Mac and it just made sense to me.
Many people don't like Mac and love Windows and that's fine by me.5 -
I don't.
This image sums it up pretty much (even though it was made for university).
Source: https://onetwentyseven.blog/2017/...2 -
Google searched my email... found an old wix website I made back when I was like 12. It is by far the shittiest thing I've ever seen5
-
I solved a big problem today. It made me feel fuckng amazing. I like my job.
P.S. I'm a QA Engineer3 -
One of the coolest projects I've worked on recently was this little adventure game I made for a game jam a while back, It was made from scratch with Golang and C over two days. It also features procedural level generation (that technically should allow the user to walk in one direction for at least 7 decades).7
-
So I taught myself basic PHP in one day today after contemplating and realizing itll help me get the job I want. And i made a practice website with it today and im pretty proud of it so far.8
-
I coded the app so good
I optimized the UX SO GOOD
I made the UI look GOOD
I made the error handling and input validation ROCK HARD SOLID BULLETPROOF
NO FUCKING WAY COULD YOU FUCK THIS UP
NO WAY COULD YOU BE DUMB ENOUGH NOT TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT AND NOT FUCK IT UP
I GAVE IT TO MY DAD AS A NORMAL USER TO TEST THE APP AND HE FUCKED IT UP ON THE FIRST TRY
HE DIDNT UNDERSTAND THE UX.
.10 -
I took a web scraper that took several hours, made it multithreaded and got it down to about 15 minutes. Pretty satisfying.7
-
I remember seeing my dad's computer and modem. He never let me touch it, so I made my own pretend laptop and modem out of scrap paper. 😂
-
My loop checked a variable, then the next 5 nested loops checked it again, then started over. It was a hard coded variable I forgot about.
I just made my code OCD -
Dam wandows... My system is up to date almost all the time as I install those forced updates before they are actually forced, just so I can be in control of saving things and not losing anything valuable during a forced restart. I've updated literally last evening and made sure the day is done only after all the updates have been made. Today I was working on a personal project and made an hour break for lunch and some rest. My computer went to sleep as it usually does when I leave it for 10 minutes or so... Or so I thought. After my break I sat behind the damn computer to get back to work only to realize that I woke it up to wrong system (windows is secondary as I only use it for this single project that needs to be done in .net and UWP) and there's no work to get back to. It just made an update without even letting me know there is one to be made.
I swear, if the person who made this design choice have paid only 1% of all the lost works' worth, they would smash the thing on day one and went bankrupt in first 2hrs of that 'feature' living it's life. And people wonder I daily drive *NIX based system...5 -
So I finally got a job where I was an intern as a Data Scientist.
PS : I am a non-computer science background guy, who made it through.3 -
I'm proud of a chess project I made in Java, at university. It was awful but worked!
One of the first times I did some code without googling it 😋
PS: I don't code and work in Java!3 -
I made a SMALLLL change in a .NET middleware that handles WebSockets (in the self-made SAAS I previously talked about) and it somehow fucked up n stopped closing connections even for people who left
On the bright side, I didn't notice any performance reduction in the service so the scalability was unintentionally stress-tested lol
Now to figure out how it fucked up6 -
New cooler for CPU installed.
Damn it. Was long overdue, old cooler was way undersized after an CPU upgrade.
I knew it would be tricky. But damn... My motherfugging stubbornness.
*sigh*
1mm over RAM heatspreader, took a long time getting blindly the cooler fixed... Screwing blindly isn't fun.13 -
haha funny
Made by me, the inspiration came after I actually almost wrote a console.log while debugging, it had been a long time since I last touched Java.7 -
"This ethernet cable doesn't work because you made it too fast". ffs I had to fight for my grade that day.
-
Received feedback on a task I made for a job interview (I didn't get a technical interview).
The task was easy with nothing special about it that made me think if that's what the job is like, I don't want to work there. It was a simple web page with search functionality. I did the task anyway.
The feedback I got was useless. It said that I made a complex and an over-engineered solution.
What I made, mind you, was a one endpoint API and a single Vue.js component instead of using jQuery to update the results. That's it. OVER-ENGINEERED!
Complete waste of time.5 -
Why is it that whenever I show someone the app I made that they always suggest a bunch of fucking idiotic features. What is bloody wrong with "Wow, cool app you made".10
-
Finally left windows completely for Linux. Currently running elementary OS and it is the best choice I ever made6
-
You make a platformer game and prototype open source and someone uses it and people assume i must be upset because they "stole" my idea. Wtf, i made it fpr the community to make something cool and thats it!3
-
Client just asked why no progress has been made this week and refuses to accept it is a result of them not answering my emails or providing content. I made a DevRant while I wait for a response!
I guess it wasn't as URGENT as the subject line suggested...2 -
Why has programming become dependency management and third party paid libraries implementation?
I hate it.
I want to code some real hard stuff but everything is already made!16 -
Last week I made my own Website, I was so proud on it.
Today I told a friend absolut it and he shows me how to do it right with CSS-Grids.
Now I am asking me how coud I be proud on my old website4 -
A few weeks ago, I was reassigned to another project. Ever since I have been in love with this new project. It has made me get my passion back for coding. I hadn't realized that I had lost it and how it had affected my mental health.
-
Google advertising to me my own app because i searched for it to see if it's available on Playstore. I made it Google!! 🤷1
-
So I picked up learning perl.
Mostly using it for tooling and admin.
Kinda looks insane, but in a fun way.
Have I made a terrible mistake?7 -

I got really awesome wireless headphones as a prize at a hackathon.
Was actually feeling down today, then this arrived and made my day!
It made my day and inspired me to do something today(started a personal project!) -
Made a new color scheme, and I really love using it for syntax highlighting.
Now I need to fucking port it to every single editor & terminal...5 -
Just saw this on Reddit thought I’d give it a little share on here as it made me chuckle and the fact that I may be chasing points on devRant so I can make an avatar3
-
Heureka! I made it work! I made it work!
After two weeks of trying shit and fixing without any clue what the fucking problem is, I finaly made it work.
Somehow Atom had a problem finding the correct paths on my Windows 10 machine. After I retried it on the Windows Console it perfectly worked.
Some solutions are simple. Some problems are stupid!
All thanks goes to @AlexDeLarge for writting awesome comments and understanding Webpack so damn well. -
First day of vacation, on a remote village cause of covid, after months of doing nothing special I made this :D
It's a keyboard to do combinations of keys (prototype) ...
Well, I made it to play sound effects in games (on voice chat)....
Ya, having a burn out fucks your motivation. At least I did something2 -
This made me lel
I automatically heard Stallman's ramblings regarding what it should be named :P
I call it the Stallman Screech -
I've made a fucking retro game and it takes too much time and effort to make this thing when I complete my game I showed this to my cousins and their first words was it is too boring anybody could make it could you make something like pubg or fortnite when I listen to these words they were fucking demotivating and made me drive crazy I don't know how do I explain them how much hard to make something like this.14
-
Baby all I want for Christmas is Uuuuuuuuu-I design that made sense while being cute.
Late I know. But I just thought of it.1 -
I made a game out of boredom and I think it looks cute.
Full size: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s...4 -
Me - "Designs and creates a new staff page for work"
Result - "everyone at work loves it"
Me - "I feel really accomplished"
Co-worker - "I'm gonna use this design, that you made, for my interviews for jobs and say I made it"
Me - "wtf" -
So I was working on a website for a club in my college. I designed a pretty decent UI and at first everyone accepted it. So I made a working website with my friend, made backend with node and all was set.
After that, the fucking member of club brought in another graphic designer for changes. And they literally made the whole website with heavy images. The designer made heavy neon backgrounds in Adobe Illustrator and didn't even compressed it.
They made the whole fucking website with images and they ran it all on localhost and were happy with the speeds! ಠ_ಠ
They even put an image in fucking Navbar!
And then I left that project, I could not see more destruction.1 -
I made a CLI tool i named it CRAO, its for creating react apps offline, cuz it wraps up all the necessary modules, and its fast.
Check on NPM Create-react-app-offline2 -

I made a project while learning spring!
Name - Restify
What is it? - Makes any program/script a rest service.
Link - https://github.com/gauravat16/...
Its really small now, I will keep learning and expanding it. 🙂2 -
It made my life as it is now,
I didn't know anything about programming before getting into college.
Now, I have my own business because of study CS.4 -
Worked till late refactoring code,
Then dreamed I made a huge mistake.
Or was it real? Can't tell !2 -
Alright i have a confession
I left devrant a week ago (2000++) and made a new account cause i love it here7 -
to whomever it may concern...
if i wanted to do code review keeping in mind how asshole you have been and made it my personal vendetta, i would not review it at all.
i would let you and your shitty code rot in hell. -
I have already accepted another internship offer.
I just received a far better offer.
And somehow I made it to the final interview round for my dream company.6 -
I made a web app where I can build any kind of form, with sections, validations, multiple type of inputs (even coordinates or polygons, photos, etc.) while allowing to see a preview of how that would look in a mobile app. That preview is because when you're done building the form and saved it to the DB, then in a mobile app (which I made as well) you can choose that form and use it.
Everything is beautiful, but after 3 sections with 25 questions each, everything becomes really slow because of the insane amount of actions that redux-form fires on every character type 😢
Today I made a public demonstration, and despite my code is very clean and well made, I think, that slowness made me look like a shitty developer, even thought I know what I made is like a 1000 times better than what I was asked to develop.8 -
*sighs* for the past 3 hours I feel like I've been talking to a 2 year old. I have made a smart mirror and I have made a machine learning assistant to go with it. Only one problem. Someone needs to talk to it to train it. Looks like that's my job. Here is one of the parts of our conversation. ("But" is not and "H" is human)4
-
I mistyped cap (from Capistrano) so often that I made an alias for it. Now bash history is full of... Crap. Literally.
My boss seen it once.... Luckily, he's already seen so many of my shenanigans that he didn't even care...
So yeah, I made an alias that changed one single character so I don't need to learn how to type.
crap staging deploy2 -
I hate it when people say to you "your website isn't working!" During school.
Yes I know that I'm the one who made it not work. -
I find it hilarious that I am one of 2 people at my company of 60+ people that really knows front end development. Like, how have you guys made it this far without full stack devs?2
-
Today I decided to turn an RFC5545 RRULE implementation I had made a few months back for a project in Rust into a cargo package, it would have made a fine addition to my portfolio since I was positive some people would find it useful. Turns out someone else had the same idea as me around the same time I did, but already published a package with it and, worst of all, the dude seems to have made it better than I ever could.
Welp, guess I'll just throw my code away, use his package in my project and maybe contribute a bit to it if I find any issues.
.-.2 -
Yesterday you made fun of my code and told me to discard it, today you want to use it for project deployment?

I'm testing that functions in a service I made are accessible to activities that bind to it and this is what I call to ensure that5

Played with Fedora on dual-boot for a week, didn't like it. Uninspiring and I had too many issues to fix. So today, I switched to Manjaro. LOVE IT!!! Holy crap, it's like it was made for me.2

I made this sweet Oh my ZSH theme for myself.
Just fiddling around with my system to make it look better and nicer.3 -
Helped dad around the house yesterday. It made me feel a tad less depressed, until this morning when I looked at job ads again. 😒10

Aye i made a 'game' to test out a library i made and it is moderately fun so i made an app from it. Here if anyone cares to try it.
https://1drv.ms/u/...
(the back button is pretty buggy, just use home button to exit)14 -
Worst architecture: the stack compiler I wrote. I basically just made my own shitty webpack.
The idea was simple: Babel to minified JS, Scss to minified CSS, and HTML to minified HTML. Made in Node JS, of course. (perhaps that’s where I went wrong!)
The thing works... and I use it... but boy is it bad. It even broke on my current project (which is for a client so...) and I’m having to work around my own god damn code.
I really need to revisit it and redo it.1 -
I was working on an android project this morning.I started android studio.
I went and made a cup of coffee and had it,came back still gradle was building -
!rant; story(well, kinda)
I made it! Hell fucking fuck yeah! I made it, I made it, I made it! I passed all exams! See you in Prague, at ČVUT!(those who happen to study/live there or nearby)

I made an optical character recognition engine once. Seeing it actually work was a really cool experience.
-
I want to get at least a skeleton made for this game I want to create. I've been putting off starting it for a whole year now.
-
I made a web project that can generate gifs from webcam. Can't complete it because I don't understand how to use SSL with Azure ☹️12
-
Made a mistake in scrapping project, realized it AFTER it spent 3 days running, now I relaunched it (corrected) with 4 times more workers to meet the deadline
-
I followed a tutorial on modding minecraft, I made a block that got generated into the world. Ohh my god I was hooked when I saw it in the game. Been loving it ever since
-
I had to make a commit today to protect my code from my cat. And it wasn't even the weirdest commitlog I've ever made.
-
I made a pretty useful library that the whole company uses but its all in bits and pieces and i cant be assed to organize and document it, but i really wanna put it in a central repo1
-
There was a DB error which made my student card invalid which means that when my JetBrains license expired I couldn't extend it. Now I can't use it at all so all of my projects are stalling :/1
-
Apparently I am writing an lyrics for my next song which won't be ever made anytime soon.
"EXISTENCE"
P.S. And yes, I wrote it while developing in Visual Studio2 -
I made this site which is nice. Its a nice project plus I made this for my own. So I decided to book a domain for it.
Turns out every possible name is booked and it started pissing me off. I mean how positive people are for startups.
They made this a real-state business. Saw land acquire it. You never know which one will be next facebook ha!
Then I hit git.com which was parked too. I thought god bless you and your money.2 -
I don't have one (yet) 😭
Okay I've created a cms, but 1) I wouldn't consider it "successful" and 2) it is only used by two sites I wrote...
But I think this is the biggest one I made yet1 -
I have the impression that my BTRFS is freezing sometimes. Let me look for the technical reason...
[...searching and reading...]
I found! It was made by Oracle. Mystery solved.2 -
I kind of ended up writing my own version of Redis, just an Express server broadcasting events you send it, when I made my first full-stack project.6

I made an open source python personal assistant named W.I.L.L!
I made a reddit post about it here: https://reddit.com/r/Python/...
and you can use it for free at http://willbeddow.com
I've been working on it for a few years and it has a few hundred users.

Is there any incident, which made you fall in love with programming but as well as made hate at the same time?
Mine was, when I implemented an algorithm without any prior knowledge and it worked somehow for majority test cases(which made me fall in love), but after test case changed the algorithm failed(Which made me hate myself)...2 -
Hello guys, some JS developer can give me feedback of this framework I made? I would appreciate it a lot!

One week ago I've made a work plane to divide features development day by day, obviously procrastinating
This morning I realized the project release was today
I made an entire mobile app with a plethora of features without bugs in an afternoon.
Never worked so hard in a so limited time without problems.
Loved it.1 -
Ugh....why did I think it was a bright idea to name variables in a certain way. Looking at it now made me spend 3 hours trying to understand what it means, and now i have a headache from it.3

My facebook password is so secure...I made it so complex to the degree that I couldn't recall anymore!!😂
Thx God my phone is still logged in !5 -
I uninstalled Brackets today. I haven't used it for about a year since I moved over to VSCode. I genuinely shed a tear thinking about the websites I made with it. I wrote my first line of Node in that program... Goodbye old friend1
-
I just created my first service under systemd.
Having never made one under sysVinit I don't know how difficult it is, but I found this to be fairly easy. -
I made a website for my college. The day on which I had to demonstrate it was fun. A student teaching and solving doubts of teachers! 😀😎

I have this beautiful Sony Vaio C1XS ultraportable sitting around, I can't turn it on because it uses a non-standard RAM stick Sony only made in the late 90s... Such a pretty device3

“iPhones powered by lenin
Nice to have legs”
Another kiki dream. I wrote this down at 6 am, then fell asleep again. I have NO CLUE what it means. It made sense then, but makes none now.1 -
After spending hours with lots of determination and concentration.
I finally made it, the output I want. But, the code is not optimized.... Sigh!! -
Worse coding mistake was a typo when I first started. it was on a arcade site I made and as long as you had the users email the typo made it where you didn't need the password to login to an account. luckily it was a free arcade I made to learn from

I made a gaming website and spent fuck load of time making it scalable. i am only player now. My life is a meme2

I made a website for a fairly reputable company a while back and I only had about a week to do it so I used Wix. Is it worth mentioning in interviews or anything or is it useless considering its Wix?1

This is a continuation of my previous rant...
I did it! I overcame my anxiety to work on the dev database (don't worry, I made backups). At first I got really anxious and almost panicked at the thought of possibly messing up and procrastinated a few minutes. After the intial anxiety has passed I just did it and it worked. I didn't destroy anything nor did I made any mistakes. One step closer to becoming more confident when working with company assets4 -
Masters in CS... is it worth it? What noticable differences has it made for those of you that have it? I've been thinking on it a lot recently and I am leaning towards it.4

Not a rant, just something that made me laugh way too much. We wanted to test this error logger we made to see if it could report where the error happened, so we wrote a function that just throws an exception. Not sure what to call it, we called it “shitTheBed”.
So it looked like:
service.shitTheBed()
I almost want to leave it there.2 -
Made a perfectly working algorithm as part of a test in school. Two days later I open the file and it outputs nonsense.

I hanged out with a gold digger “friend”. I cringed when she made it obvious though. I guess we are used to non-obvious gold diggers.7

Not a rant..
I recently made a chrome extension to manage tabs...
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...
Made it for myself first but I know all of us have this problem of having tabs to the extent that even the favicons become invisible.
Feedback and suggestions are welcome guys!! -

Carpel Tunnel has actually made me a far better programmer.
While I've had to cut down on how much I program, I have instead started writing the first draft of any program on the whiteboard and manually debugging it.
Also got my dream internship because it made me far better at coding interviews!1 -

Making the avatar is relatively stressful due to how I wanted it to have the beard I could never attain but the sight of it still made me cringe. Plus, I wanted a pet but points requirements made me sad.2 -
I spent the last 1.5 hours trying to optimize delivery of two 8.0KB JS files. It didn't work, at all tried like everything I could find. At the end I initialized it in angular json and made it load regardless. Made me realize that it is not made for optimization.1

I have my own sole proprietorship and hate it. I am in an area that a ton of businesses need new websites. Their existing ones look like they were made in the 90's. I go in, have a seemingly great meeting. We talk about goals and looks. It ends with "send me something and I will have my IT guy look at it". Your IT guy...in a business with 2 employees. Then a few months later, they have a new website. Looks like it was made in 2002.1

In the beginning I was a retard, but then found out about React Query, learned it, made some abstractions around Axios and my JWTs, and now I have 200+ IQ.
God bless Tanner Linsley, you mormon crazy bastard, you did it, you made my life easier.8 -
I have a couple of small ones, but one that stands out is actually fairly recent.
It was an independent project, more for practice than anything, but it involved fetching daily horoscopes from an RSS feed and showing it to the user upon request. I first just made it as a command line program, using some new modules I hadn't used before, and seeing everything work smoothly and neatly printed out made me super excited.
Not too long ago I even made a proper GUI for it using Tkinter, which also works nicely. :) Nothing so far has beaten that first excitement upon finishing the command line one, though. -
*mistypes "organization" once in doctrine while generating entity*

So, ya boi was making a google action and struggling with account linking. Everytime I tested, it just instantly crashed. 3 days of asking slack forums and searching online.
I was so desperate that I made a second account and made it an editor on my skill. Tried to test and there we go.
Google actions don't run account linking when the owner tests it. Well played google, well played -

Built my first singleton today. Dunno if I need it, should've used it, or if I even did it right, but I think I did.
In all seriousness I made a singleton and have no idea what I'm doing. It works and I think I understand it but it is in WordPress so no one ever knows. -
