When you go to paste a piece of code with CTRL+V and accidentally press CTRL+C instead so you have to go back and re-copy it.26

My brother just started learning web development. Day 1 of playing on his own domain, and he breaks his WP install twice in an hour. He sends me the following text:
This is like a horribly frustrating game.
Best summary of software development I've ever heard, and it's only his first day.6 -
Am I the only one that seems to lose the capacity to type when a person comes next to me and starts looking at my screen? It's so frustrating.10
-
User: "it stopped working"
Me: "ok. Could you be more specific?"
User: "it just closed"
Me: "could you give me the stacktrace/error message?"
User: "no."
Me: "why?"
User: "can't find it"
With a long conversation and some frustrating debugging it turned out that, ironically enough, the crash reporter crashed...2 -
Something is not working with PTR DNS records right now.
It's getting really frustrating and I'm starting to DuckDuckGo the issue.
Just noticed that I typed this:
"how to setup a fucking ptr record".
I didn't type the 'fucking' intentionally.
😆😅9 -
THERE IS NOTHING AS FRUSTRATING AS WAITING FOR A RESET PASSWORD MAIL... ONLY TO GET A STREAM OF 16 PLAINTEXT PASSWORDS 30 MINUTES LATER, WITH NONE OF THEM WORKING.
Fuck you, IKEA. 🖕11 -
When you're interviewing a candidate, who works on Linux, for a senior position & he refers to the Terminal as "MD-DOS"!!8
-
Aren't lambda expressions just the most frustrating thing sometimes? But how can you not love them when they get the job done in one-liners? 😍2
-
It's frustrating when you know so many programming languages and your boss likes you to use drag and drop website builders.10
-
My phone autocorrect "Netbeans" to "Jetbrains". Was frustrating on the moment, but in the end I feel okay with that8
-
I received a shiny new pair of Bose QC 35 II's for christmas -- bluetooth headphones with active noise cancelling.
They're similar to the $500 pair my previous boss lent me at work. Lower quality, but much newer, and rechargeable! and bluetooth! Yay!
I paired them with my debian machine, and... it failed. No explanation given. I tried everything I could htink of, but nothing changed. Well, okay; bluetooth came out within the last decade or so, meaning it takes some extra effort in Debian. truth. So I did some reading on bluetooth connection issues, changed some configs, learned how to use the bluetooth cli, and used that to pair and connect them. Worked like a charm.
But! No audio.
Damn.
Cue more research (on pulseaudio this time) and more configs. Did some fiddling, etc. No progress. Also discovered `pavucontrol`, a gui-only (😕) utility which lets you select audio output devices, among other things. It doesn't list the headset. Nor does `pactl list`, but that does list the correct bluetooth modules. It also lists Lennart Poettering's name many many times, for all the good that does. Bragging about building something as needlessly complicated and crappy and buggy as pulseaudio? I will never understand that egotistical doucheballoon.
Anyway.
I paired the headset with my phone in about six seconds. I'm now controlling my phone's music via spotify on my computer. yay. Doesn't work for games or movies, but I can always just plug them in.
But woo!
Noise canceling!
Yay, silence! At last!
and music! How I've missed you!
❤💜🖤
(systemd and pulseaudio can still die in a fire.)22 -
Lotus notes (or IBM Notes, as it is now called).
It is so efficient at frustrating you that when it hangs that it often requires its own dedicated task killer (killnotes) instead of Windows Task Manager.6 -
It's sooooo frustrating when a client forces me to make a design vertically fit in their own screen size. "Everything doesn't fit on my screen without scrolling" :(2
-
I just had to ran to get my train in time. When I sat back I saw this alert on my phonescreen.
That's nice of the Riot app developers to detect frustration like that :)7 -
IMO, salary range must be mentioned with job descriptions!
A candidate investing so much time & efforts to pass through the entire interview process only to know that their compensation will be lesser than what they're currently paid is very frustrating.11 -
Trying to understand someone else’s undocumented fucked code is as frustrating as taking a shit and the water slashing up at you.4
-
Holy shit I never realised how frustrating it is to code for a client the way they want it... I mean I just want to go back to coding for fun4
-
Why does it feel like learning to code requires a building of endurance? Like training for a marathon, you have to build up to bigger and deeper learning sessions. Rewarding and frustrating at the same time.25
-
3 nights of "why doesn't this work?", "what else can I try?", "why doesn't that work either?"...
Finally... it f**king works!3 -
Using Ubuntu for the first time on my new XPS-13 Dev. Ed.
I'm loving the OS but it sure is frustrating. Can't even get Spotify to download -.-27 -
My project at work (an electron/angular desktop app) has an exceedingly rare bug that causes it to crash-to-desktop while loading. Nothing about the bug makes sense, and there's no way to catch or detect it until the next run, and it happens 100% of the time for affected users.
There have been six confirmed cases so far (out of 500k+ users), and nothing linking them together. None of the fixes discovered by those users have worked for other affected users.
The worst part?
I was the first of those cases. I inadvertently fixed it for myself and haven't been able to reproduce it since.
I'm stumped!17 -
That frustrating moment when you have an excellent app idea but a similar app already exists with over 50,000 downloads 😭😭😭4
-
Just spent 15 minutes trying to explain Unix time and Y2K to a liberal arts major who wanted to know why 2038 is such a huge deal. It was technical, frustrating, and challenging. Kinda like debugging3
-
They gave me a file, .php, that was the entire webapp. THE ENTIRE THING IN A SINGLE FILE. It's frustrating that I have to organize this before I even start working on my tasks.
I guess its not super horrible since it's a rookie project but it's still horribly and unnecessarily time consuming.5 -
Tutorials w examples that don't even work. Would run into these all the time back in my Flash days, so frustrating.2
-
It's so frustrating when you're trying to power through a development but get constantly interrupted by phone calls, coworkers, project managers, meetings, emails and IM.
Just let me work!!3 -
I'm a newbie in programming, just past the very basics and all. Which is why I am a bit frustrated when i see programmers use stack overflow. I barely even understand it.😏9
-
Sometimes I just hit a "developer's block", when I'm just blankly staring at my screen wondering where did I start and how did I end up here!?
It is hell frustrating!!!6 -
Fuck.
Fuck this shit
Fuck. What the hell is this?
What the fuck????
Fuck this place.
How the hell is it even possible??
Fuck all. M leaving.

A snapshot of my workday nowadays.7 -
Looking for job opportunities, one grabbed my attention and I decided to apply. First, I had to fill a form with 40 questions, explaining and justifying development processes, best practices and overall knowledge. Ok, no problem. Form submitted, and I see a step 2. Now I have to build a single page site from scratch, and send another form with code, link, and more justifications regarding development. After that, my application will be sent.
Then I found this observation, saying the position was for a freelancer, that will receive work occasionally. Not a full time position as I thought.
Sometimes cleaning bathrooms sounds a better option.1 -

1) bugfixing
2) bugfixing
3) bugfixing
No, seriously, I love finding & fixing bugs.. it never gets old..frustrating at times yes, but it is never boring..4 -
The most frustrating situation
when you do competitive coding...
2/50 test cases failed . tried all possible .. and still not done !!
its like "operation success patient dead" .....12 -
Was fixing a bug in my app since yesterday. Now I have to keep it all aside and attend a family function. Feels really frustrating to stop mid-way. 😫😣1
-
Frontender, social media manager and windows (server) admin!
Frontender; being paid to do something I couldn't care less about and find very frustrating (as for developing it)
Social media manager; being paid to use mass surveillance engines 😷
Windows (server) admin; I don't think I have to explain this one...7 -
I wish I was a goddamn designer. Spending hours on a design only to find out it looks like shite. So effing frustrating...6
-
The senior dev in my team wants me to convert all the lambda expressions I have written to anonymous inner classes. He says it will increase the code readability.
IT IS NOT MY FAULT THAT YOU CAN'T READ LAMDA EXPRESSIONS!!!!
It's like the dev has something against the new features of Java87 -
Nothing is as boring and frustrating as cloning a ripo from GitHub
run it then you get 3, 4 syntax errors
you fix them
then boom a library throws a hug ass exception
at that point I just delete the damn thing1 -
It was so frustrating setting this one up. Lots of shouting in front of my monitors. But I think now I'm slowly getting somewhere with my first i3 setup.
Now to see if it will actually improve my workflow somehow.8 -
I want a developer job so baaaddd :( !!! My city sucks for technology jobs. And the few jobs open want 50+ years of experience 😫9
-
When the fuck will people learn to handle errors as soon as possible and return early? I have been reading the some code all day and the amount of nested:
```
if(okay) {
... 200 lines of code
} else {
throw
}
```
is frustrating. the indentation is sometimes 6-7 tabs deep...6 -
I'm managed by idiots who don't fully realize the nightmare they're creating.
They're making small operational changes, but hundreds of them with zero evidence to back their claims up.
When I bring up how it actually works, and how operations actually work I'm told I don't use the tools as much as management does and that my feedback is limited to how I use the tool.
So now I'm just gambling that they won't fuck up too bad before I get that sweet sweet sellout money and just letting them fuck everything up they want without any warnings from me.
I'm quickly learning that the phrase of the year is, "Fuck em". -
I tried to contact 3 developers of restify (famous node js package) to tell them about my library anumargak (node js based router). I received the response from one guy finally who talked to other developers when I explained the advantages of switching to this new router.
They all were happy to switch and asked me to do necessary changes and raise a PR. I did it and then they stopped responding. -
Staging
Production
Exact replicas according to git
Of course, production is the one that doesn't work
FUCK I FUCKING HATE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS SO FUCKING ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING11 -
Sigh, I'm the "tech" side of the startup. When I explain things to my co-founder on what is/isn't possible, it's frustrating to have to explain how it wouldn't be possible without effecting something else.4
-
I hate how I've been writing code for years now, but I still don't feel right calling myself a developer. So frustrating!5
-
Its so frustrating when your co-worker whines about project issues in the washroom :|
Let me fuckin pee first motherfu... :/2 -

-
German bureaucracy, German tax offices, German pension insurance: of course we should feel very lucky and grateful for those institutions but currently, all they do is keep frustrating me with their kafkaesque bureaucracy. Don't they have anything more useful and productive to do than bother me with their bean counting?!20
-
I just found out that my partner writes his increment operators with a space between the variable and the operator.
i ++;
anybody else do that because he's changed parts of our code to include the space and it's frustrating7 -
Today I was trying to convince a colleague that:
fun example(){
if(thing){
//Do something
}
}
Is stupid because it should be
fun example() {
if (thing) {
//Do something
}
}
It's the small things that are the most frustrating14 -
My dad: "Oh yeah, JavaScript, Java, I know that stuff! You know the Mars Rover is actually using JavaScript?"
Me: "Oh is it now?"
Dad: "Yeah lots of things use Java"
Me: "You mean JavaScript?"
Dad: "Yeah Java, JavaScript, you know like building website forms"
Me:" Yeah I know, yeah, I, know... -_-"6 -
Yesterday, I was looking back at a project that isn't a focus right now, and unintentionally realised the cause of a frustrating bug. It's a one line fix and the smallest PR I've ever done, and it was such a good feeling!2
-
Git: the occasionally frustrating, dangerous, and infuriating VCS you can't believe you were living without.
-
She doesn't understand that most smartphones are capable of calls and navigating menus simultaneously.
So whenever my mother calls in need of help with her smartphone, can be anything from installing a new app to posting on FB.
I have to explain 2-3 steps, then she will hang up, and call again in 5 minutes, where I will then explain the next few steps, and so on.
How she even manages to navigate that much and calling in between, and then struggling with simple task is unimaginable to me..1 -
What's your opinion on these sharp and very defined icons? Personally, I don't like them because they are too skinny. I like big, meaty icons and buttons because they seem less frustrating to click. There's nothing worse than a UI with tiny buttons.23
-
It's frustrating when network guy blame tomcat is not running and hence something wrong with application without fucking checking proxy settings. Fucking waste my 2 hours and in the end he looks like idiot. Good Morning.
-
I’m tired of being put in positions where design gives me a rough mock-up a week (or less) before its launch day. It’s frustrating and I’m tired.
-
F--- you Ruby, Gems and all this frustrating to install crap. Come on, it is 2018 and this is still one of the biggest issues on all projects depending on Ruby for some damn reason.10
-
Do any other teen programmers find it frustrating that clients will only hire us for a lower price? I understand it's a matter of experience, but I still feel designing and programming an iOS app is worth more than $2500...5
-
So Taran from Linus Tech Tips posted his autohotkey code on twitter the other day and the amount of redirecting and includes is a little frustrating.1
-
First time dealing with the rejection process from Apple, and it couldn't be more frustrating. I asked for clarification 3 times and got the same exact response all 3 times... LET ME TALK TO A FUCKING HUMAN!
-
Anyone have the experience where you are learning a new programming language and you are eager to do stuff with it but you need to use another one for your job? So frustrating!2
-
I can't share details of ongoing research projects (NDA-esque) which is frustrating because I do want to rant about them.
Let's it just be said I'm frustrated with ROS and packaged built on top of it about five times a week.7 -
When you share some code with someone who knows NOTHING about computers. So frustrating!!
(Not my picture)3 -
In my life I have never had trouble researching a concept... Until now.. Never had so many fruitless endeavours, its getting frustrating.7
-
Front End Developer's work life balance 🤣
It might also be frustrating to keep changing the same design. 🤣😂6 -
There is no one who can relate to me around our area. Even my friends are non-dev. It's frustrating. Thanks devRant for existing.
-
sometimes a rant is so engaging and frustrating and relatable that it makes me upset and i get the urge to downvote it for psychological reasons
-
This little underscore (actually the absence of whomst'd) was the source of a very frustrating bug.
I tried to debug the sources of a 3rd-party library to no avail, but all I had to do was to read the documentation for the 1001st time. 😤1 -
Fucking frustrating piece of shit colleges. I’m fucking tired of losing face covering up your assess! Do your fucking job properly you mutherfuckin-piece-of-shit! Fucking full of excuses!! Own what you fucking do!!!3
-
The lack of human interaction in most dev jobs is really frustrating especially that some companies solve this deficiency with hundreds of meetings per week which is even more annoying.1
-
> colleague: My file has 79.25% of unit testing coverage
> supervisor: you're almost there! One final effort and you'll get that 0.75%!
Seeing someone this fucking dense is physically frustrating even when I'm not involved3 -
Man fuuuuuuck, there's nothing more frustrating and scary than fucking up a local git repo. Because you know for a fact you won't be able to restore it
And I even had god damn backups of the .git folder. But reverting leaves me with more files than I started with fuuuck9 -
I'm very frustrated at my job. Nobody gives a shit to work and don't have technical knowledge. My colleague keeps on battering the peers. And colleagues are discussing everything without me.
So trying to switch company but no luck in a year. And I have stopped working at my job. Gives me serious anxiety.6 -
Is it just me, or is it extremely frustrating that we get so little time for our side projects? I can only manage like 3 hours every night, losing up on sleep.. 😢5
-
consciously i know not to measure my worth by my productivity and that i ask too much of myself and that none of it matters, but i still struggle a lot changing subconsciously. that might be the most frustrating human experience2
-
If you ever feel your interface is poor , just go through IRCTC interface once ; you will feel good .7
-
Looking through code, discovered a front end plugin wasn't activating right on a form input. Go look at the code, intern commented it out and wrote a comment saying "This didn't work and I didn't know how to fix it. So I turned it off." If you don't know, then ask. Don't leave it broken and not tell anyone! I am so glad this kid is gone. I really hope he doesn't come back after term.1
-
Why doesn't Skype of business have an application for Linux? Every company meeting where a developer isn't involved is run on sfb. Being on Ubuntu it is hard to attend any such meeting. Any meeting between developers is on zoom so we're good.
We can't really convince every one (other than developers) to start using zoom.
Do we have any other alternatives? Is this a lost cause?20 -
Don't you fucking love it when there are no errors, and still, something doesn't work. It's so frustrating. I've been debugging this shit for like 2 days. UGH!2
-
Devrant making responding to someone impossible by removing draft content if you accidentally click outside the editor is almost more frustrating than half the shit I actually rant about.
I will have just about finished a long response when something happens and it's all fucking gone.7 -
How do guys using Windows survive , like its getting hanged on some firefox tabs and a steam window , its so frustrating .5
-
Just review and merge my PR already!!!
Damn is it frustrating to see PRs stagnating after finally finding an open source project I can actually bring something useful to :(4 -
I had a school project with a friend, we concord to code some parts of the program, share it and explain the code so the teacher see the code was ours, when the final date come, after some doubts from my find we could delive the project with a not good note, the time passed and the teacher repeated the temps for a final protect, my friend was totally lost, the he arrives with all of his part, I questioned him about the code but he don't not so much abut, we almost fail the final protect because he buy the code to someone else and couldn't explain it to the teacher.

I always find it frustrating that additional requirements and changes are added and the deadline is not extended2
-
I really hate when I have to work on something wrong. I mean, the client wants to embedded a third party service on their website, using iframe. Then, they want us to change the layout and behavior of the embedded page. And well, no matter what, I have to do what they want. Great job.
-
About to quit my job.. looking for another one in a different city for my lady..
The thing is that I love my job, I love what I do, I love my team.. but I love her more.. this may not be the best place for this, how it's on my path to do what I want to accomplish as a Dev and as a human being.. frustration++2 -

It's really frustrating and confusing when switching the context from Java to js and vice versa.4 -
I am embrassed.. :(
Situation was..
It was 3-4 months ago I written the process but now client was saying it is not working so I just need to update value in array..
I spent 2-3 hours everything was good..
only in the statement where I am assigning the value is not working.
I was like dude wtf call your senior why its not working .. everything is correct.. then suddenly my eyes catch the rubbish thing I did..
this is what I used mistakenly for assignment "=="
:( and I was looking at statement from 1-2 hour.. it just wasted my time3 -
I have reinstalled node js 3 times to run JS scripts and "npm run dev" is not starting up the server. This is quite frustrating.29
-
I just recently started working on a product that uses MaterialUI.
I’m not saying it is bad, but it is frustrating me. As a person with a very strong understanding of CSS (SASS mostly), it is frustrating to see the framework try to make things easier while making them entirely more hard.
It would take one or two classes do a thing in SASS but instead it is accessing a bunch of sub classes already built in and modifying some aspects. And then having to add custom css-in-js for other layout needs.
It feels wrong for 1 element to have 2 different methods and areas to house it’s own styles.
I’m sure I’m going to get used to it soon enough. But it is frustrating now. -
React Native developers:
Is it normal for the Expo app to suddenly go blank and stop working for no apparent reason, without showing any errors or logging anything? It happens all the time since I started using it and it's extremely frustrating2 -
Having a manager and client and boss who know no programming is frustrating because when they post issues on the repo as bugs and critical but its neither of those, the terms lose all meaning because whats really happening is
THEYRE REALLY BAD AT USING COMPUTERS.1 -
Client asking the same damn questions they asked last week. So frustrating .. wait... I'm looking at the email from last week. Never mind.

0) Because it's kind of Magic.
1) Love solving complex/small problem using this magic.
2) It's frustrating as well as exciting when magic is not working.
So yea it's kinda magical and doesn't matter which language you do magic in. -
Have you ever wished something frustrating or disgusting may happen to you so that you can quickly rant about it on devrant?1
-
Way too much stuff is having a Y2K type date error in 2020! So frustrating that people did not even think 10 years ahead. All this stuff is solved already and not implementing it well is just lazy.6
-
I've been ricing my Linux desktop for a few months now yet again and again I come back to a Mac-like theme.
Frustrating.1 -
I feel like I spend more time staring at my screen, deciding what to name my files and folders, than I do writing the actual code that goes in them. So frustrating..3
-
I've a question. Has anyone in here ever be forced to use something as remotely frustrating as SQL Server Reporting Services (ssrs)? I swear it is one of the most convoluted piece of shit ever.
-
Most frustrating? Anything involving IE, but that's a safe answer. No, my most frustrating experience (to this day) is getting tables to behave responsively on mobile screens. Not easy when the tables in questions contain dozens of columns with hundreds of rows and mostly rely on fixed widths to render the text the way the client wants. So if you have a client who doesn't understand how hyphenation and word break work, I know how you feel.3
-
Have to write ugly ass wrapper classes around a third party dependency since my team can't be bothered learning its vocabulary. A vocabulary which is very well thought and self-consistent. Apparently, defining our own which is only occasionally more descriptive is preferred. It's already collapsing under the weight of its own maintainability cost. And, if someone joins the team that knows the dependency they are fucked anyway as they'll have to use our wrappers.
Time and time again I've tried to oppose this move on several different merits: maintainability chief amongst them, but no one listens to the lowly new hire.
I should just pipe my thoughts to /dev/null and save my breath...2 -
Every layout goal must take hours of frustrating intuition-destroying trial and error, followed by documentation cross-examination, MRE building, upstream bug-filing, and workaround pursuits.
https://jsfiddle.net/uz5dr8h4/21/
But no, CSS doesn't suck, you're just bad at it.6 -
new addition to the most frustrating moments in 21st century along with loading screen and low battery.1

Angular 2+, it's just so elaborate, and over the top complicated. On larger projects it easily becomes a mess. I started a new job where I inherited a angular 2+ project, that is terribly made, it's so frustrating. I now use Vue.js 2, and it's just so beautiful, especially single file components :D1

Nothing is more frustrating than working with technologies with very little documentation and no fucking resources online. Trying to debug a Program AB AIML project for hours. StackOverflow has unanswered questions.
Few more hours and I will start pulling my hair.2 -
Q - What is more frustrating than the code that won't compile?
A - Boss who is constantly asking you to compile this code.
- as quoted by @GoDmode1 -
As a user getting warnings and errors containing the word "unknown" it can be kind of frustrating, but as a programmer I can relate...1
-
So I taught git to my colleagues. They were happy to learn new things.
I asked them to commit things that they have done with proper message in every projects from now on. I find 50-80 commits to pull in every 10mins. Ughhh. They were committing every single changes they were making. 😂😂😂

The most frustrating thing while I edit a file on Github directly is pressing home/end key. They're not related to lines but page.
This is the problem with most of the online textboxes/editor.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there any other shortcut -
WTFFFFFFFFOMFG
Why is setting Java path so frustrating? My $JAVA_HOME is supposedly be in my /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle directory but Nautilus shows up nothing!
It's like I'm head first inside the rabbit hole. Fuck3 -

Uuhhh currently installing Arch Linux on my desktop, because fedora had such a long boot time... But it is really frustrating to install all the stuff with a 1.8 Mbit/s internet connection😩4

First Rant on here!
One of the most frustrating things I have come across in PowerShell is non properly implemented ErrorAction methods in Microsoft maintained modules.
When you are attempting to write a quick script with simple yet proper error handling and Microsoft fumbles the ball at the 1 yard line! -
I’ve always hated the pixel fucking part in a webdev project. It’s the most frustrating becausing it’s partly about optinions.
I like the pixels better over there
I want this coler greener
Can we make this animation more cool?
Now imagine pixel fucking in 16 devices and 200 resolutions...3 -
On One of those frustrating day when u try to fix broken live application and you find where's the issue but above that code some one wrote comment saying FIX THIS. What are the chances.

Fuck JavaScript!
Seriously, it's always like this:
> "Hey, look <module name> seem cool, let's try it!"
> Find a tutorial
> Tutorial is 3 to 6 months old
> Should be good
> Everything is deprecated
> Come on...
> Back to C I guess.
It's moving waayyyy to fast.
It's frustrating...19 -
@dfox: is it just my Android device or is it the app that new sentences don't automatically start with a capital while typing. Kind of frustrating to manually press shift for each new line. Or am I just a little bit spoiled?10

I am at a work seminar and the presenter is talking bullshit about artificial neural nets.
Unfortunately I can't punch him through the webcam. This is frustrating. Why do morons who know nothing about neural nets always insist on talking about them?7 -
When something worked perfectly yesterday and now it’s just fucked up without touching anything:
Cause today
That was yesterday
Yesterday is over
It's a different day

The most frustrating part with css is like seeing people make animations on codepen where a fkin panda closes eyes or moves around,
And you are like how to Center align this box or this Dam image keeps rolling around the screen -
One thing that's very frustrating about being in a globally distributed team is that you have to wait ages for someone to respond on Slack. You can't just walk up to them and ask for something. Most of my time is spent waiting for people to respond.1
-
The lack of appreciation (from the user/management side) as a backend developer and DevOp is frustrating sometimes. But having nice colleagues who value your work makes it worthwhile.
-
Anyone elses file names sound more and more frustrating as a client continues to request tiny changes? Like it goes from
Db-image.png to
Fuckityfuckfuck.png6 -
I couldn't imagine how frustrating learning to program is if English is a second language.
I get irritated having to just change to Americanised spelling -- like "Colour" to "Color"6 -
Kind of feeling when started Learning Rust
Rust Stable
Rust Beta
Rust Nightly
It really fRUSTrating but..
Awesomeness of new beats all odds2 -
What do you do when you like a crapu dev ?
damn some times its very hard to deal with your shitty skills. And people take advantage of that1 -
client has no clue what he wants and keeps changing the requirements of the projects; wants to deploy "to a desktop app like electron but faster, but also as a lib for developer to use on a server like a CMS" 🤦🏻♂️; takes two hours in a call and literally tells me that he want to "hear himself speak" so he can clarify what he needs...

You find an almost perfect job match then realize it is 45 minutes away on a good day (while driving a 20 mph). Finding work can be *so* frustrating!

I took this freelance job from an undergrad student, her *final project* in her final year.
It's a cool idea with NLP and I was excited. Did three webpages as a show of my prowess and discussed an amount with her after she was satisfied... she seemed okay with the pricing.
Fast forward, three weeks pass and I don't hear from her (we had agreed that I would have to carry her along, so she could defend it). After alot of unanswered msgs, I stop working, assuming she's changed her mind.
Present Day. I stumble into her and I ask what the hell happened?
She: "I thought you were working on it!"
Me: "Jesus Christ! What about my messages?!"
She: ...
"But, we kinda have only till the 28th of the month before final defense..."
F***, now I'll spend my birthday month rush coding and fixing bugs that I could have done at my own pace! -
PHP would say:
I am easy to get, expensive to maintain, frustrating to live with, and impossible to get rid off.6 -

I guess asking my friends for their opinion is part of my workflow and I really shouldn't do, because their reactions tend to be demotivating and frustrating all the time. As if I don't have enough to worry about already.
-
Barely worked the last two years. Brain is a fucking sieve now. Extremely frustrating not retaining information/not understanding systems I know I'm vsmart enough to.
The fact I have to basically waterboard people to get information doesn't help, but even so...3 -
Hardest thing about changing careers and becoming a programmer has to be going to the job you can't stand everyday. I'm a school teacher and I'm just tired of it. The unruly kids, the low pay, and the stupid administration with all their useless curriculum ideas that never help the children.
Hopefully I can fully get a grasp of Android/Java so I can leave this place this year.8 -
Ayyy, spent an hour installing arch, another with the desktop environment and another cause the audio and a whole other set of problems came up. Safe to say was the most frustrating yet the most satisfying install. If only all installations weren't a boring point and click.1

while(true) {
$us->me();

Damn it. I'm stuck on an infinite loop and can't get out. I'm starting to feel unmotivated on our first project as a team. No financial support from client. Disastrous planning phase. I really do want to drop this project. But I won't because of my dev friends, we started this together. Another thing that frustrates me, they don't know how to use Git. If there are changes on the system, we have to transfer it through flash drive. [ill teach them]. I don't wanna go to the point that this project becomes toxic. So frustrating. This too shall pass.
Does every start have to be this hard and frustrating? -
I'm starting to think that Fedora is not a convenient OS for Android development, it just randomly freezes. I might try Pop!OS.
Or maybe it's because of Android Studio...2 -
the worst person I worked with was back in school. he would make no contribution to our work and would have a go at me if I did something wrong and whenever I fixed a bug he would act as if he knew the solution the entire time. it was so frustrating2

This is a call to rant:
Please rant about your most frustrating asoundrc experiences here because i am still too frustrated to write about mine.1 -
I dunno if this is a rant or an anti-rant, but for some reason, Assembly and low-level development hardly ever tick me off. It absolutely dumbfounds me how what many regard as the most frustrating and difficult ways of programming a binary digital computers is just so enjoyable. I spend hours per day teaching myself C and GNU Assembly and how it works with little actually getting done. It just rarely gets frustrating enough to rant about. Ladies and gentlemen I think I have found my calling!
-
It's frustrating when you tell your teammate after code review that they have to rework their code a bit to capture certain scenarios they've missed and they just scowl at you.
I'm just trying to make it easier for us in the long run! -

So, you COULD make a remarkably simple SDK to upload files that needs little documentation, OR we could make an SDK that is basically impossible without three triple-shots worth of espresso and 20 Stack Overflow windows. I think we'll take the more frustrating one3

Watch, as I deftly make something not really related to coding BE related to coding...
I finally found something more frustrating to get working properly than WebSphere:
A 3D printer.
I'm probabaly 50/50 at this point with succesful prints, and the successes are just okay quality.
It's my first 3D printer so I'm learning a lot, which is the up-side. But damn, very frustrating at the same time.
Oh yeah, and of course: fuck WebSphere. SSSOOO glad I don't have to deal with that anymore! -
I've come to realise that wrapping var_dump(); in fucking_var_dump(); greatly helps upon those nasty and frustrating bugs.

Has anyone maybe a link to HTTP security topics in general?
I find often breadcrumbs, like in several different attack possibilities, but nothing comprehensive.
Mostly regarding HTTP 1.1 / HTTP 2 (h2c) and proxying.
I'm currently unclogging an whole ecosystem of proxies, endpoints, edge nodes and so on...
My knowledge is limited and it's frustrating to Google cause seemingly I get always just pieces of the puzzles but not a collection -.-
(Looking for specific information, e.g. regarding attacks like H2C Smuggling, HPACK attacks, stuff regarding Cookies / Headers / Encoding... But please not spread over several dozen pages where it becomes frustrating to read the same shit over and over again without learning something new :( )3 -
Julia sucks!
It has similar syntax to Python and it's messing with my Python's knowledge.
Thanks to my Image processing subject's professor who preferred Julia over Python, because it's faster! and then he uses a package called Pluto (similar to Jupyter) which makes running Julia code super frustrating.1 -

I love Kdevelop. Using it for a decade. But for last few years it's background parser eating too much RAM. Moreover heavily templated code also causes spikes of memory consumption while compiling. Sometimes it feels frustrating. But I am not willing to switch IDE. I've been habituated with Kdevelop.
