Many advantages of being a dev:
- You can work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- You solve problems for a living, how cool is that!
- Job security (Even if you get fired or something, you can still earn your bread with your skills)
- Even if you are bed ridden or get in an accident or get old, you can still work(kind of a pessimist).
But the best part is, you get to do what you love(for me its true).1 -
Guys I need your help. I'm a student working at a very small development business as a developer ( who would have thought) and I really love working there ( nice colleagues, I learn something every day) but recently I don't get enough work. it really feels like half of my day is spend running after the seniors asking for work and it starts to get really annoying not only for my but for them too. and most recently I'm just going home early because I don't want to just sit there unproductivly :/ but this is not really a solution either because at the moment I'm trying to work 40 hours ( I get paid 20) to get some overtime to not have to work as much as soon as my university starts. but now I don't get my hours and have to chase for work... does anyone have any advice for me?6

I've been at this for 7 months now; it was great for the first 2 months, now I can't seem to get my ass together.
I still get my work done, but that's the problem.

i now there are others like me who really want to study prog. but sometimes get distracted. o was wondering how you guys get past these distractions and have the passion to stay dedicated in learning and doing your work.2

Oh... my... gosh. I don't think I've ever been more infuriated by people that talk about how much money their company is going to make. They talk about what they're going to buy, what they're going to do. How everyone they don't like is going to feel sorry for ever crossing them. And then they do absolute jack shit in terms of actually working towards their fantasy company that is going to make them billions. Know why? They're LAZY. It's nice to dream, but be realistic. Fuck. Listen, 90% or more of people are just average. If you don't work towards making yourself great, of course you're not going anywhere. Most people will never be rich. It's just how it is.
Bonus annoyance points for trying to make me do all the work for the company that will make them billions. -_- -
If a developer was having a slump (unable to close tickets, find solutions, get mind to work)

It took me fucking AGES to get autocomplete in Atom to work...

Why does it have to be so incredibly hard to get an nvidia card to work under Linux? The driver is in available, we have the technology but every time I try to get this damned thing to work I end up in front of a fucked XServer and this stupid "Something went wrong" gdm screen only to apt-purge nvidia from my drive and start from the beginning once more.5

Finished my first freelance web project today. Spent 11 hours coding it. Another 10 hours trying to get it to work on the browser.

I'll stay later at work to get something working/finished rather than save it for the morning because there is no greater feeling like coming into work and your code works great. What a feeling.

Damn... I've decided to get to work early today. It usually takes about 40 minutes to get to the office. So I've been on the bus at about 8:35.. It's 9:50 and I'm stuck in traffic, with a long way to go... Fuck this shit... ain't gonna get out of bed before 9:20.. What's the point if I get to the office at the same time!?!?8

I simply can't get shit to work. I just can't, I feel retarded and useless. I know I am a slow coder but this isn't even the problem now. I can't even setup my shit.
I couldn't get virtualenv to work, so I used the python built-in, then I tryed autoenv. Nada. It doesn't fucking work. When i try to source the activation script for my env...
No such file or directory my ass. I tryed evey possible path to that file, still doesn't work.
I ignored that and just continued, trying to setup heroku. It took me 2 fucking hours to get why git wasn't working.
Hopefully I will finish my project one day. I tough it will take me one week top. I was so wrong. The more I do, the more work I realise I have to do. -
While windows is fine and dandy for slacking off, you're going to need Linux or macOS to actually get work done.2

Has anyone worked with Apache server-side insertions? I can see how they would be useful for a project site after reading about them on Stack Overflow but I couldn't work out how to get them to work for me.5

When you have to be at work becuase it's work, but you finish all your work in 1 day regularly, and it takes QA 2-3 days to get back to you.... Massive downtime.2

When does a developer life turn into a nightmare?
I’m still an intern, senior in school.
All the work I had to do so far was easy, I would get a task to work on for a week and finish it in a day.

Whenever there is a new project to work on, I get the complex parts, I work for 10 Hours a day. While others get simple tasks, go home on time.
