Yesterday, I decided to rewrite the code of a project I'm doing for a week. I rewrote all the code with a better agility (is it the good word? ) and I ran it. It worked the first time! It worked the first tiiiiime!4

Once, when working on top down RPG, I woke up at 3am and wrote map moving system. It worked flawlessly. Later had to spend 2 days to understand how the fuck it actually worked.

Rant PART 2 [FINAL-inspirational]
In my previous rant I posted what was happening in my life. And now I want to share how it all unfolded.
To remember some things, I was doing a mobile project for school and it was a group assignment. My group was so disperse that I ended up doing all by myself. And in the middle of this my gf and I were fighting.
I spent the last two days coding all day during work (I do coding internship for the college I go to, so my boss was cool about me doing the project during work) and I ended up forgetting what day it was today (today is a holyday, I thought I had to go to work because I forgot). It was such an intense two days that while coding I was forgetting variable names, table row names (I literally spent half an hour on my API trying to find a solution, when the solution was that I was using `seller_fk` on the API, but in the database was `seller_id`) and my mind was imploding. I asked my boss for help on the database (he's really good at it) and my teachers to help me. But everything paid off.
Yesterday I started coding at 8am and ended up finishing the project at 9:28 pm (the day before yesterday was the same thing), 2 minutes before the class of the project to start! I was able to finish the project, finally! But what really remarked me was that from all the groups that were in like 4-5 people, I was the only one who delivered the project that day. All other groups are going to have to deliver the project next week with reduced project grade, while I got 100% of the grade because I delivered on the date.
God is good!
Also my gf and I are good now. We are kinda still recovering emotionally, but are now more respectfull to each other, so I guess something good can comeout of bad things.

I've been programming for a while and worked on some relatively interesting projects but I haven't worked in the industry yet. The rants people make here, they make feel as if I know nothing and to some extent, it's a bit intimidating. I still love it though :-)2

Developing a web app that I'm sure was touched by Satan himself. Bugs come out from no where.
Yesterday when I left everything worked. Today when I arrived nothing works! Lots of angular errors. WTF. No one else worked on it . :O4 -
Man nothing quite like reworking some code to make it 'better' so that nobody has to read it top to bottom to make a change.
And then months later get a request and think "Oh crap that code".... and you go in and find the little hooks you added made a 3 or 4 hour (or more) change into a 15 minute task.

I moved about a month ago, the new place has crap curtains (yay for renting 😔) so I was waking up at 5-6am as the sun comes up 😞.
I bought blinds a couple of weeks ago, they've just arrived and all screwed on. I was waking up and getting bored so I started going out running before work. My last job I was the absolute last one in the building every day, yet also the closest. Now, with the running I'm getting in at about the same time but one of the first in my new job.
My new blinds are remote controlled/programmable. It's a bit sad but totally worth it, I'll be able to sleep in, have sunlight waking me up and still get to work at a sensible time, kinda just gives me more time in the day! 😁1 -

Lmao probably the time I worked 150 hours over two weeks (had to sleep on the job) for a project. During delivery I worked 09-22 during the weekend (unpaid) while my boss was out on his boat.4

Just launched a successful deployment today. Took 4 months to build everything. It's probably not a big deal but I'm just really happy today that everything worked right away, and almost no deployment hiccups at all.
Only one issue popped up, but come to find out it's a particular thing about the Prod environment and nothing to do with my code.
Gonna go celebrate now, before more work comes in. (hey, can you refactor this for me?)

Sometimes I think that my computer is possessed.
The story goes like this (typical): adding a new feature creates a bug with something that worked perfectly until now. I find and solve the bug in a few minutes. Now the spooky part: with that sort of bug, even the code that worked up to now shouldn't have worked. But it did. Does someone knows a good Ghostbusters service?1 -

Six hours of heavy debugging to find out that someone put a fucking coma instead of a fucking semicolon somewhere in the middle of a Google Analytics query.

Seventeen. I worked for 17 hours to pull off a POC of a feature no one thought was possible (at that time). It wasn't clean beautiful code, but hey, it worked! It's live now and I still smile when the feature is used.

My best coworker was probably my last boss and team. We always were able to help each other out when needed and really worked as a team. It was great except no one worked onsite so it's not like we could go get drinks or lunch.
