Story.
Did you know logging into chrome will auto sync all your fucking bookmarks to that other person's account??
I DIDN'T!!
(I use Firefox mainly and chromium for testing.)
I use chrome only for porn. Got shit tons of bookmarks. I login to my friend's sister Gmail on my chrome(for remote desktop - to help fix her computer. Somehow, remote desktop doesn't work on chromium)
Was browsing her pc via remote session and suddenly all of my porn bookmarks appear at the top bar.)
Had to manually select each bookmark in the bookmark manager and delete since CTRL+A won't work during the remote session. Don't know why.
FML.27 -
Adding some scripts to a project with the whole intent of slowing performance on Internet Explorer, and if a client complained I showed them how fast it was on Firefox, Chrome or Opera.15
-
Overheard this phone conversation:
"So I have to use Internet explorer since it is the only one that supports JavaScript.
I had to upgrade Java to use it, and now it has to be internet explorer, not even Chrome or Firefox supports JavaScript."
I honestly wanted to punch her in the face.9 -
If the Firefox Quantum is really good then you don't need to say:
"Chrome will become obsolete"
"I hope Chrome dies"
"Chrome's dead, long live Firefox"
to prove that it's a great browser. Fanboys always ruins nice experiences.14 -
Saw my uncle using Microsoft Edge today.
Me: Uncle, you should use Chrome or Firefox. They are better.
Uncle: Windows 10 showed a pop up few days back that chrome drains battery faster. So I uninstalled chrome.
Me: But Windows is fooling you to use its product. Edge is horrible and useless.
Uncle: So you think you are smarter than Windows people? Are they idiots who designed this whole software?
Microsoft u got 1 more Edge user. Enjoy, you lying and misleading company.28 -
It looks like those who say "I don't use Chrome, I use Firefox" or "I use duckduckgo instead of Google" are like vegans.
No one gives a flying fuck if you're a vegan or you use Firefox.
Yes, many of us use Firefox, ddg, Altavista, Netscape and FreeBSD but there is no need to remind us at every opportunity you do so.
Do whatever you want to but we don't care and probably won't judge you.40 -
Wrote JavaScript today and it didn't work in chrome and Firefox but it worked fine in IE...I instantly knew I did something wrong.5

So my school forced everyone to buy a Chromebook G4 Education Edition which came with ChromeOS and we had to sign some shady e-policy. Days after I got it, I opened it up and manually reflashed the BIOS so I could use SeaBIOS and install Arch Linux.
Great, so I went on to instal Chrome and it was really slow and performance heavy, then I installed the new Firefox and it ran a lot faster...
*So hehe, Firefox works better than Chrome on a Chromebook!*9 -
To celebrate Quantum release, let's share your must have add-ons for your browser(s).
Mine :
- bitwarden,
- ublock origin,
- jsonovich,
- feedbro
- rested
- error indicator
That's all.
Screenshot and pocket are already included with Firefox and work great. Chrome needs extensions for those though. I used to have disconnect and ghostry in past.45 -
I used to use Firefox few years ago, but people around me called me fool and told me that Chrome was much better.
Now I use Chrome and you devRanters are making me feel like fool again.
Lesson Learnt: Stand straight on your decisions23 -
Uhhh, ok. Screw you Microsoft!
Really wish I could go all Linux..... 😑

Google is not even hiding their efforts in controlling the internet and holding sites for ransom:
https://theverge.com/2019/11/...
They will happily put a "badge of shame" on slow loading sites and I think this is just to force more sites to use AMP.
Fuck google. and I mean it. Firefox really is the last "FREE" browser available for us who care about this shit.
on the other hand, I hate the whole "Modern Web" shit. So if what google is doing will take it down then by all means, go fuck it up google.18 -
The inofficial devRant Toolbox for Firefox has been approved by Mozilla and is now available in the public Mozilla AddOn section:
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/...
It adds extended controls, themes (black, solarized, comic), dual frame layout and some more additional features.
A chrome version is also available:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...5 -
Firefox Quantum is the only software in beta stage I know of, that is more stable than the release one. I have to admit that I am somewhat of a fanboy when it comes to Firefox since I have been using it for the past 12 years. I never admitted it's quirks even though I secretly knew chrome had a better performance and stability lately. This rebirth gives me so much hope! YES! Firefox is not dieing!8
-
I tried the beta version of Mozilla Firefox Browser.
I opened 10 sites which consists of social media, email and youtube. And I found out it consumes less RAM resources than Google Chrome. Not bad Mozilla.
Here is an article about it: https://thenextweb.com/tech/2017/...25 -
That weird and uncomfortable feeling you get when trawling through analytic data only to realise your top 5 browsers are in order:
Google Chrome
iOS Safari
IE11
Edge
Firefox
I think I need to go back to testing things in IE again 😫10 -
FUCKING FRONTEND DEVELOPING PIECE OF SHIT.
Why the fuck does justify-content: center behaves differently on chrome, Firefox and IE?
JESUS FUCKING CHRISTMAS GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER12 -
"This site isn't compatible with Internet explorer, use Firefox or Chrome"
This is what happens when devs get frustrated6 -
I just had to download Firefox to be able to download chrome because Edge kept crashing. Think about that for a second.
It kept crashing on a BING SEARCH...9 -
Firefox is not a “chrome alternative”. Firefox is a better browser. Even if we completely keep the chromium privacy out of question, Firefox is still faster and Firefox devtools are still waaaay superior.13
-
Coworker: "Look our WebApp loads much faster in Chrome (0.8s) than in Firefox (4.6s). This clearly shows that Chrome has the better JS-Engine"
Me internally: "No, it just shows how bad your JS-Code is, and not optimized, you dense Mo**Fu**"5 -
Who else uses Firefox over everything else? I switched from chrome recently and I don't regret it!26

People in my school launching Internet Explorer, cause Firefox takes to long to open/doesn't work fine - instead of clicking the shiny little chrome icon on their desktops...12
-
Today someone was testing a website for me.
Tester: I've found a bug this button doesn't work
Me: It works. I tested it in Firefox and Chrome.
Tester: I'm using Edge
Me: Oh yeah. Forgot that was even still a thing...7 -
My first post................... from firefox.
Chrome has made me to switch to firefox completely.13 -
When you open 100 tabs in Firefox (mobile). Not as cool as the chrome gimmick though (which replaces it with a :D smiley)7
-
Why do so many people refer to Firefox as "Mozilla"? But never refer to Chrome as "Google" or IE as "Microsoft" or...? That really irks me :/8
-
I remember installing Firefox on a machine for a lady because she claimed having issues using our app in Chrome. She turned around ask me : So I'm gonna have 3 operating systems on my computer now? (She was using IE as well ). I could tell she was over 50 so I let that one slide.3
-
I swear to god Chrome is becoming the new IE.
For some fucking reason it decided to add additional few pixels or margin to an element and fucked up my layout.
Firefox? It works. Edge? Works. Fucking IE - WORKS. Chrome? Shits the bed.
What the actual fuck, Google? Weren't you supposed to be the one working properly?
Not to mention forced renaming my local .dev TLDs...7 -
I’m not paying all this money to watch my professor choose Internet Explorer when she has both Chrome and Firefox1
-
When you ask the IT-Department of a company collab with Microsoft, why you aren't allowed to use Firefox instead of IE.
The answer is: "It's insecure because it's open source"
YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME INSECURE ??? IT IS MORE SECURE AS IE!!! INSECURE BECAUSE OPEN SOURCE? THAN LET'S USE CHROME OR OPERA INSTEAD BUT NOT IE2 -
I am still working on the devrant toolbox extension (for firefox and chrome).
This is how it looks in my browser (firefox). The colorset is "solarized light", but there will be dark modes also.
What do you think about the dual frame layout with the feed on the left and the rant on the right? Would you use that?11 -
Dear Chrome/firefox developers,
If someone presses the back button after they click on a link it means don't load that page and not go back to previous page.4 -
The site I'm working on works in Chrome, Safari, Edge
But not freaking Firefox.
I hate you Firefox, please leave.
(Disclaimer: Pls don't kill me. Freedom of opinion)rant browser support newest version of each browser crossbrowser css grid i know i'll start a shitstorm towards myself. css317 -

Why does FireFox has the shittiest dev tools?
Working on my website and it kept throwing "TypeError: Failed to fetch"
with no other info
Opened Chrome and that thing gave me the entire error without even modifying my logs code, and now I can peacefully solve the problem -.-11 -
Still working for the biggest German ISP...
Intern Websites are only for FUCKING IE11!
CMON GUYS WHY EVEN LET PEOPLE INSTALL CHROME AND FIREFOX WHEN ITS NOT FUCKING SUPPORTED! FUCK OFF25 -
PSA:
Just started using Firefox nightly. It has an add on called "super dark mode" that automatically converts ANY site you visit to a dark theme.
#How the fuck did I use Chrome till now.3 -
IE is crap. Use Firefox.
Amazing that it still applies to this day, except maybe swap Firefox with Chrome, depending on preference.12 -

In july chrome will mark all http-pages as not secure and firefox will follow.
Worst of all, those insecure pages won't be allowed to access the microphone and other features any more. What will i do in cafes now?12 -
SPA I made:
- works on any major desktop browser(Chrome/Chromium, Firefox, Vivaldi) on Windows and arch
- works on any browser on any Android phone (version >= 4.x.x)
- Works on a freaking fridge
- Does not work on iPhone ...wtf apple6 -
tired of my tor browser not letting me do my job (still configuring settings, but it's taking too long and i'm getting tired of it), and chrome doesn't show my mouse pointer (which works everywhere else on my machine).
Time to go back to firefox. downloading nightly this time, though. thoughts on it? any default settings I should change for security or to make it better in general?11 -
Google Chrome scans private files on the computer without mentioning the user and without the possibility do disable this "feature". Google never announced this anywhere.
Someone (Kelly Shortridge, @swagitda_ on Twitter) found this randomly and confronted Google. It answered that this was only an AV scan and wasn't done more than once a week.
Well, THAT'S why I use Firefox. I don't trust Google, and again and again it gives more and more reasons for this mistrust.4 -
After being live multiple years supporting only Safari, Firefox, and Chrome, one customer wanted IE support. After taking a close look at the usage numbers, and discussing with us front-end devs, our product guy shot it down. Pop the champagne!2
-
So, what are you all working on right now? Let's get some screen-shots in here!
I'm working on my "BrowserBandit" software - it reads a firefox or chrome profile and extracts saved user/pass combos, history, and autocomplete entries.19 -
this === 'rant'

A million dollars for the head that creates a lethal virus that forcefully uninstalls IE and installs Firefox/Chrome and unleashes it upon planet Earth. Sorry if this sounds too harsh but guess what? FUCK IE.13 -
Well done firefox for not implementing some stuff from ES6, because you decided to do so. Isn't the releases of EcmaScript considered to be standards? I'm a Firefox fan, but damn, Chrome is so much more advanced.7
-
"org.apache.spark.mllib.linalg.densevector"
In firefox entering this term in the searchbar tries to open a website.
In Chrome, it searches the term.11 -
The layout for my little side project was working fine in IE last week. Made some server side additions over the weekend and now the layout is broken... in IE only. Guess who's putting in a user-agent redirect to a "Works best in Chrome or Firefox" page? 😉
-
I've got a rant-type question:
Why would you EVER use Google Chrome?
There are a million browsers in the world, you could've used Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, Bad Wolf, Qute, st, Epiphany etc, but you chose to uss Google Chrome.
What would be the reason you would ever choose Google Chrome over any of the million browsers, out of which many of them get the job done much better than Chrome? Okay, I get it why you might use IE or Edge, cause you might be too lazy to install any other browser or you just want the performance benefits you get with Edge which totally, most definatelly, a very big plus point for Edge.
*"Chrome has a balanced-bloat out of all browsers"*
But how tf does that matter? That doesn't even help performance wise anyways.
I can't get over the fact that I have to see/hear about 'Chrome hogging RAM' EVERYWHERE. Like, why do you even care about the god damn browser? Why is it a standard over the million other browsers that exist? Why can't the general public be educated that browsers have choices (just like phones) and you don't have to spit crap over people who don't use Chrome.
It just drives me crazy of how many people hate Chrome, and still it's a 'default' browser.
I would quote Vivaldi (the company/browser):
'A browser should adapt to you, not the other way around.'
(Disclaimer: Rant of a former Firefox, qute, st, Opera, OperaGX, Edge, and ofcourse, Chrome user. Currently in deep love with Vivaldi.)
I'm done ranting. Have a nice day!
(My first post here, if I did something wrong, let me know! I'll make sure I don't do it again!)55 -
Chrome (Chromium based browser) / Firefox (and variants) / IE (fuck it) tabs challenge
Me : 148 tabs
Beat me!
How to participate:
1. Post the screenshot of your tabs.
2. Count them.
3. Tell your browser.
Things to consider:
- Chrome (Chromium based browser) / Firefox (and variants) / IE (fuck it) should not lag (let's be honest)
- Max 8GB RAM (or whatever)
- Each page should have SOMETHING
- No mobile browsers, only desktop (linux welcome)
----------------------------------
cozyplanes: 148 tabs / Vivaldi (Chromium)16 -
After seeing so many posts about Firefox quantum using so much RAM. I can say this
"Firefox quantum is new Google chrome"3 -
From yesterday, I have made Firefox Developer edition my primary browser replacing chrome.
So far it's doing a great job. Its feel fast as chrome.
Some google site like docs or spreadsheet is lagging sometimes.
I still click on chrome time to time without realizing.
Let's see how far I can do with this experience.18 -
Wow. Can't access a news article in an incognito tab without logging in or subscribing. This happened in Firefox and Chrome in mobile and desktop views on Android.7
-
We need you to support IE7, IE8, IE9, IE10, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. Also since the customer may one day want to use tablets start thinking about that. And if possible don't break IE6 compatibility.3
-
Yesterday I talked to my client for 1 hour about a problem she has on my website. When she does something on the administrative website, internet explorer stops working.
Then I told her: "try Google Chrome or Firefox" and I explain why Chrome or Firefox should work. Today, she tells me that it does not work yet and sends me a picture of her screen with the problem (not a print screen, a cell phone photo, with the sun on the screen so I do not see the screen). It was the same problem as the other days. But she was on ... wait for it ... Edge (yes, she's on w10 and she uses Internet Explorer).
So I reply "try Chrome or Firefox.".
I said nothing else and she just thanks me for the help.13 -
What mobile browser do you all use? I used to use Chrome, then tried Firefox. But oh my God that was the worst browser I have ever used on my phone. It was slow as hell and refused to load 2/3 of the sites quickly.
Now I'm trying chrome canary and Via.13 -
WHY THE FUCK DOES AUTOCOMPLETE = "OFF" GET IGNORED 😡😡😡
managed to find a work around for the password field, but god forbid there's one for the username field 👿
I feel like I've tried everything google has to offer1 -
When you dev in Chrome and the UI looks perfect, but the client reports a style issue in IE/Firefox and you are forced to use the dev tools in these browsers to try to solve the issue. I need another coffee2

*Having issues with chrome using %20 of the CPU on linux, decides to google and see if anyone else is having the same issue*

Oh look, all 40 replies are people complaining that the poster is using Chrome in the first place and telling them to just move to firefox, vivaldi, opera or any other browser... Thanks guys, real fucking helpful!9 -
A classmate saw me using Firefox today and laughed at me saying Chrome is more secure. I'm not very knowledgeable about the security; I use Firefox because it uses less memory and it's more stable on my machine.
I doubt that info of his is current so can someone who actually knows about the security give me some counter-arguments for him? The more facts the better :D14 -
Today I had a dinner with several members of my family. At some point my uncle decided to bring up ‘tech stuff’ so we can talk about it. Nevertheless, few seconds in he was trying to convince me that IE is the best browser, being far superior than firefox, chrome etc.
I just nodded and started talking about how HTML is the language to learn if you want to be a dev 😅😂4 -
There's a devRant extension for Chrome & Firefox.
Please up vote this post so Edge users can too browse devRant in secrecy from there bosses!
Thanks 😁6 -
Firefox and Chrome removing FTP support in 2021 was a terrible decision.
Web browsers were simply the more convenient FTP browsers, more than file managers, due to browsers' built-in multimedia capabilities like photo viewing and opening documents, distinct purple highlighting of already opened directories and files, browsing history, familiar mouse shortcuts like middle click for new tab, and no possibility of accidental writes due to a botched drag-and-drop operation or similar.
If I wanted to browse an FTP server in "read-only mode", web browsers used to be the preferred choice.12 -
Corporate pushed a change to our PC's which similataneously installed chrome and pushed their security policies on us. Extensions are no longer available. I can't sign in with my chrome account anymore. I can't automate ui testing with selenium. I can't control any chrome settings, they're controlled by group policies now.
I guess it's time to switch to Firefox. At least until they block that. At least the UI testing still is functional on that...7 -
Submiting a form with Ajax without e.preventDefault()
Chrome : Yeah it's all good
Firefox : No. Eat shit. Display a length error in console...
IE : I'll let you pass but I'll crash right after...
I'll never forget again -
I made a New Year's Resolution to take more of an interest in my Internet privacy. Feel like it's something I should have done a long time ago. I've stopped using Google search (DuckDuckGo instead), moved away from my Gmail account (Tutanota instead) and stopped using Chrome (Firefox/Firefox Focus instead). I've had my Gmail account since they first announced it and you could only sign up if someone invited you. It felt good to delete 7000 emails and what I estimate must have been 13-14 years of Google/YouTube searches. Currently experimenting with VPNs, considering paying for ProtonVPN soon.9
-
Whenever I get dissapointment about my life,I remember the guy who using Internet Explorer to download Firefox or Chrome!3
-
Not sure why Firefox is taking too much resources. It's just one tab with gmail login page. And only one add-on is active (AdBlock Plus). Guess it's time to switch to chrome.21
-
I might ditch Firefox for Chrome just for the fact that sometimes it doesn't open a pdf doc rather it just starts downloading it again and again and again until I sign out.19
-
The moment, when you're coding a new feature on friday, your code somehow behaves weird in firefox... dev console shows unexpected behaviour and you're starting to think YOU ARE GOING CRAZY...
And then.. you find a fricking fucking Bug from over 12 YEARS AGO which STATUS IS "NEW"!
"Yes, the problem still persist with 2.0.0.11"
"This is indeed still an issue in version 3.6.3"
"Yes, it still exists in FF 4."
"Bug still present in Firefox 8."
"This ticket is almost 10 years old. Switch to Chrome."
CONGRATS FUCKING MOZILLA! THANK YOU! <3 <3
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_b...2 -
there it is, couting with: 2 instantes of VisualStudio, 3 of chrome, 1 of firefox, 1 of gvim, 1 of notepad.exe, 1 of Spotify and 2 real notepads in the desk.
2 projects, 4 databases and 1 deadline tomorrow 😂.
man, the 2 monitor setup really helps, when you can, go get one for yourself.3 -
Just when I was about to watch the Downton Abbey clips on YouTube I realize that my Firefox went completely silent without warning.
So the latest Firefox 52.0 decided to drop ALSA and force users to use pulseaudio instead. Otherwise the only way is to recompile the source with the alsa option enabled, or downgrade.
What the actual fuck Mozilla? Who made this decision? What's the reason behind? So far Firefox is the only browser that is having the sound problem.
Nope. not another bloated package. Maybe I should switch over to Chrome.4 -
Debugging JS,
*uses chrome devtools*, breakpoints work, everything loads, can work on fixing bug
*uses firefox devtools*, takes more time than IE to show up, the UI doesn't show up, can cry in the corner.
Why is firefox debugger so bad :/6 -
I'm addicted to dark theme everywhere. Dark Firefox, dark chrome, dark YouTube, dark devrant, dark Reddit, dark Google keyboard. What else can I make dark?11

Debug on chrome ✓ (Check)

Debug on UC ¿ ?¿ ? (WTF)
Whose code is that?6 -
React devtools in Firefox is such a pile of shit! It's slow, it hangs when selecting and it doesn't fucking show the whole component tree when it's too deep. I'm forced to switch to Chrome when I need to debug.
Anyone here has problems with it too?4 -
I bet that all web devs can confirm this.
-You spend hours writing the code, and then open it on google chrome but nothing works :-( so you try to fix it spending another hour and at the end of the day you think: "let me try with firefox" and magically everything works percectly. And after all this there is only one thing to do and is 'sudo apt purge google-chrome' LOL5 -
Each time I try firefox after somebody mentions it again or it's in my rss feed, it still seems to never actually advance
It's stuck and either gets worse or goes back to its stable non improving level again, how come do they still not have a proper mobile responsive tester, why are even the upgraded addons still suffering the same container and rendering bugs
how is it more important getting bad image by implementing mr robot malware, than getting on an actual competitive level
why is it default bloated with random pocket addon bullshit, why did it begin to lag, ..
I remember when I was using firefox for a good portion of my life and laughed at how google chrome is laggy, but nowadays theres simply no competition to chrome, its stability and developer tools
I wish there was competition, the grid tools were a great start, but then nothing followed and they just went back to their never improving flatline16 -

Any suggestions for other browsers27 -
What browsers do front end devs here normally test on? I test on Firefox and Chrome because...that's all I use, but what about Edge/Safari or god forbid IE11?
I'm more familiar with backend dev ops so my testing consisted of checking Firefox a lot. :P6 -
I have just released my first browser extension! It's a YouTube ad-skipper.
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/...
I did it mainly as a learning exercise but I hope some of you can find it useful!5 -
Browser rant:
I just want to get this off my chest, IE isn't a bad browser. It's highly outdated but it was good back when the alternatives weren't there. And today it's new "browser update" Edge isn't bad either. Edge really is a neat freaking piece of software. Microsoft tries their best to make a browser for their operating system (and a browser engine for their new app format!) that means it has couple of features the alternatives don't (or only with plugins) - oh and plugins, they're coming too. And still it's not slow either. From my own experience (I say this because every user says their browser is the fastest) it's way faster than Quantum. Yet Quantum is still a very good browser because it's faster than the old firefox, I guess it's open source(?) and still a privacy focused browser. Chrome (my personal favorite) on the other hand is really the fastest thing you can get - if you allow it to use all your ram - (if people like linuxxx say firefox is faster for them, I'll just smile) but for everyone worrying about ram usage and "spying", well - you know what I mean. And still I can understand people trying opera or FF/Chrome/Edge mods, I myself love "Monument". Just stop saying a browser is bad because it doesn't have what you like/does have what you don't like. The only bad browser is Midori, okay? 😘
Tl;dr
IE isn't bad but old. Edge isn't bad today. Every high end browser (edge, quantum, chrome) has their perks and none of them is "bad".
Q/A:
What's your favorite Browser? Comment below9 -
After seeing it in a demo, the customer didn't like their first loading gif and they sent another one.
I go to open it to verify it's good and Gimp won't open it; Chrome, Firefox, IE, even MS Paint fails miserably. Eventually I ran file on it and it's an html doc.
So I changed the extension and loaded it up. He saved his slack window as a gif. -
You know what would be cool for testing web pages?
A chrome window that would mirror my mouse movements, clicks and key presses into a firefox/opra/ie browser so I could test a bunch of browsers at once in the same way8 -
Firefox is shit
- In version 62 the cocksuckers finally removed the ability to add description to bookmarks, now there is no difference between mozilla shit browser and chrome, except chrome has working mobile version and working bookmark sync.
- Yes, firefox mobile on android does not even allow you to edit bookmarks so that useless crap can't be called a browser at all.
- Firefox shitcoded sync takes more time to sync 1 bookmark, than chrome takes to setup all bookmarks/addons/settings on fresh-install and in addition to that, it messed my bookmarks several times, so I am forced to sync places.sqlite via dropbox to syncronize bookmarks, because it is way much faster and reliable.37 -
Of course the first thing I do when I sat at my desk is to update my Firefox. And I realized that chrome also needs an update.
I remember clearly that I just updated everything yesterday. So Google released updates on the same date as Mozilla.
Coincidence? Don't think so.1 -
WOW! Firefox you are worse than Chrome! From 10GB used memory down to 3GB when you are closed :|
(had a VM taking some of the memory, closing it made memory go down to 10GB from 14GB used)8 -
Here's a hypothetical scenario: what if all web-developers in the world united and collectively decided to act as if there are no other browsers except Firefox and Chrome?
I know I do. Of course, everything I ever made targeted younger audiences, so only idiots, Apple fanboys and the ocassional Opera user used anything else...10 -

Managed to find an advantage of IE, and it's not for downloading Firefox or Chrome.
Nah, I just discovered that you can actually add a shortcut on your bar task on Win7 with the favicon of the website (I guess it's the favicon), and IE will directly open to it with slight minor color changes.
So now when I need to check if any commit were made on the repository, I have a shortcut to the website so I can check fastly o/
(why I use IE for that ? Because Firefox and the proxy have some issues, and I had bad experience with Chrome. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But IE does the small job I give him, so I don't complain)1 -
One of my coworkers calls Firefox "Google". Oddly enough she also uses Chrome but calls it "Chrome". I get confused every time she asks me to help her with her computer.1

Why is fucking Chrome still not able to auto-hyphenate on Windows desktop?! Yeah I know the dictionaries, OS integration yadda yadda, BUT:
1) TeX did this 40 years ago, this is a solved problem in CS!
2) Firefox is a 3rd party application in Windows, just like Chrome, and can auto-hyphenate!2 -
"Hi. I just started programming - and I typed things and they don't look right. I think it's something to do with the web browser.... firefox does... and chrome does......"
(It's you)2 -
We make a small server product with a web based admin system, as we were going to have limited customers who will use this (usually just the engineers) and this was not on the www. We dropped all support for all browsers other then chrome/firefox. No more IE/safari bugs for us XD2

Random Tip (since ppl don't seem to know)
Dark Reader chrome extension
turns everything to dark theme
works on devrant too, although their native dt is better
not sure about firefox2 -
FireFox was a Fox that was on Fire.
Safari was a compass that got lost in the Jungle.
Chrome got eaten by the Chrome looking Android Eater.
And Internet Explorer was Dora the Explorer who got lost and got swiped by the Firey Fox who lost his compass who wasn't friends with the Chrome Android guy.4 -
I think accept cookie thing should be done by browser itself. If it was like when using
document.cookies=bla browser wod show the popup that if we (users) are okay with the site storing a cookie. It'd be much standard as I can set accept cookie from all web sites etc so I don't have to8 -
Work Computer antivirus marked FireFox as a remote code injection and blocked it. Okay then. Chrome it is?8

Started opening tabs in Firefox Quantum like all you devs do during development. All of a sudden, firefox gave up and stopped loading any new websites.
Bookmarked all the tabs and closed ff. Clicked on again, the old process appearantly is stuck, so it showed a warning, closed the old one and opened it again.
Alright fine, opened all the tabs from bookmarks again. Firefox is again stuck. Realised some of the tabs might be acting up. Just to double check if it really is those tabs, decided to open them in chrome.
It opened fine and I continued to browse in Chrome without any hiccups.
:/6 -
Just realised one thing. Every single time I have IntelliJ IDEA or Android Studio opened, Chrome of Firefox are just, like really fast. But as soon as I close IntelliJ or Studio, the browsers are slow as hell.
-
What the fuck is this steaming shit!?
You fucking background apps, chrome and Firefox take all my resources to fucking open my Google drive?!
AND WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE 19 INSTANCES OF CHROME RUNNING!!!!
WHY THE FLYING FUCK DO YOU NEED TO DO THIS! LET THE FUCK LOAD!
I HATE WINDOWS! BUT THEN THERE ARE APPS WHO ARE FOR WINDOWS AND MAC ONLY!
I'M DYING NOW!!!!!!!!
FINE! EAT ALL MY 12 GB RAM AND FUCK YOURSELF IN THE CORNER BUT PET ME DO MY WORK!11 -
designer: the distance from the baseline of the letter "p" to the bottom of the box should be 150px exactly. You are 4px off.
me: Erm... baseline?
designer: Yes. Not the "base" or the "beardline". It must be the "baseline" of the font.
me: uh huh....
designer: And it must be the same in all browser, chrome, firefox, internet explorer
me: Orite, lets save the whole Psd and <img src="whole-website.jpg"> Tada!5 -
Coded a project for months, only tested it in Firefox. Then I think about the other users, so I fix everything in Chrome. After this I sent it to a friend to try it out, says not working at all in Safari, Mac. Okay, another few nights without sleep then... 😩8
-
Aaaand this made me cringe.
When you are being a good slave and filling in one of those in chrome official stable release on ubuntu GNOME...
It's saying I either need chrome, firefox or internet explorer... -
Ugh time for my first google chrome rant... thing...
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, finished an arch linux install, fixed my slow internet connection in linux, installed only the things I need, vs code and google chrome but fuck me!
Google chromes performance is sinking like a rock, dropping about 25-40% of frames in youtube, slow page loading and the sort.
Installed firefox to ensure it wasn't my system and its all running perfect, I don't like using firefox and want to go back to the warmth of chrome, anyone able to help on this one :-(8 -
Unpopular opinion: Firefox is a better web debugger/ development tool than Google Chrome... so many functionalities packed in that sweet gem.11
-
I didn't know this but every single chrome extension spawns off its own chrome.exe process. I had 11 chrome exe processes running and I didn't even have the browser open cause I use Firefox exclusively now. My laptop was crawling and I was wondering why cause I have 8 gigs of ram. After removing all the extensions my laptop became a speed demon again!1

I swear on the Almighty nature, I fucking hate Browser compatibility.
Passing php data via JSON encode. Works superfine on Firefox and Android mobile browser doesn't on Chrome. Fucking shit. Been sitting for 13 hours and gave up. FFuuuuuuck !!!!
Form submission via ajax and it again works on Firefox but doesn't on Chrome. I just can't understand, my mind is fucked by all the angels in heaven. Data gets submitted, the form is reset but the function called to refresh the JSON data doesn't work.
Someone please kill me or I swear I will fucking kill everybody.4 -
So anyone here likes The Good Place?
I made this little Chrome and Firefox extension that replaces the cursing words as in The Good Place.

That moment when something works in Internet Explorer/Microsoft Edge but doesn't work in Chrome or Firefox...
On the left is Chrome, on the right is Internet Explorer.5 -
for everyone like me hating the new chrome tabs style "touchable" that firefox dropped a few versions ago:
chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md
set it to "Normal" and you're back to "Normal" e.g. good looking. you're welcome ;) -
Well, not all people close chrome tabs after work, some close Firefox tabs too. You damn browserists.6

finished making website and all its features work across Chrome, Safari, and even IE11 and Edge..... but not Firefox... been like this for the last 3 sites that I have done. Mostly CSS3 related. Some CSS3 hacks are required for that browser... why are you the odd one out now Firefox??? That used to be the job of IEs!!!17

I can't believe I've missed out on Firefox Focus for so long. I'm a Chromium guy, but Focus beats rounds on Chrome mobile in terms of speed and browsing experience.2
-
The moment you realize that you have successfully beaten reality with your unit-tests...
There are unit-tests for ...
... the api returning a 408 Http StatusCode when an internal request times out.
... the react app take this status-code and fires an action to display a specific error message for the user.
Every bit of code runs just fine.
Deploy this hell of an app on the server. Dandy Doodle.
Do a smoketest of the new feature.
FAIL!
Chrome starts to crumble during runtime. The api Request freezes.
Firefox takes the 408 api response but fails to interpret it in react app.
So I began to wonder, what the hell is going on.
Actually I recognized that I had the glorious idea to return a clientside error code in a serverside api response.
Glorious stupidity :/
Finally I fixed the whole thingy by returning an 504 (Gateway timeout) instead of 408 (Clientside timeout)
Cheers!2 -
so i decided to do some benchmarks for chrome and firefox hypetum ...
TLDR : chromes kicks ass sometimes half the time it takes ff to run some benchmarks.
HTML5/CSS3 support is also better in chrome. overall chrome looks to be the best.
if you're a privacy nut i suppose you won't give a shit but yeah overhyped.8 -
What browser does everyone use? I've been using Firefox and its pretty good mixed with DuckDuckGo I could ask for better, but people seem to love Chrome. What does everyone think should I try Chrome for a bit.40

We don’t like Google’s Chrome..

Angular dosent work as well in Firefox somehow...
The navigation is choppy, observables are slow.
I think anything to do with rxjs dosent work as well.
Chrome works great even on cell phones.8 -

Things i have changed during this quarantine :
1. Switched to yarn from npm

Latest Yandex browser (Chromium based) throws an error if "document.hasStorageAccess()" is called (:
Ie the StorageAPI that allows cross-site cookie access on user-interaction
the iFrame sandbox flags that compliment it, ie "allow-storage-access-by-user-activation" also fails on execution.
Both of these work on Edge/Chrome/Firefox.
I thought Firefox and Chromium browsers are all ive to deal with and im done but NO.
Now within Chromium-based browsers theres differences of API as well?
Kill me.11 -
Ooooh MOTHERFUCKER. God fucking dammit. Jesus FUCKING christ. Motherfucking local caching on firefox and chrome. Reload the MOTHERFUCKING PAGE, it's why I pressed CNTRL R you fucking blighted cunts.
Some days I wish I had a brick to toss at the fucking head of the nearest chrome/firefox developer.
Fucking assholes. Eat shit and die alone of cancer fucksticks.7 -
Fuck you Firefox and your shitty debugger.
Why do you try to be so different, to the point where you make the error messages obscure?
Google the error message I get in the Chrome debugger - hundreds of results.
Google the error message I get in the Firefox debugger - I can count the results with my fingers.
Just use the same error messages god damn it.
P.S: Also, why is there no fucking option to open an image in a new tab, like in Chrome?1 -
Ok. FUCK THIS SHIT.
It's been like literally 15 minutes and I've been struggling, trying to *do* something at all.
I don't know why or how my experience with firefox has just plumetted through the floor. I partially blamed my slow ass HDD but guess what, chrome ran beautifully last I checked.2 -
Fuck chrome.
You're asking why I am so fucking angry at this piece of software? Well because I was awake at night for 3 hours reinstalling my mail system because I thought the Web UI was broken due to a corrupted database. Guess what - the caching of chrome caused the buttons to silently hide beneath the header of the UI. Hahahahahakillmehahah
To be fair, this could have happened with every browser. But since everyone is on the "anti-google" trip anyway, I'm gonna switch to Firefox 🙃1 -
I sometimes get issues while testing my project,
Like even though js function is declared, the console shows error that its not declared and some other such errors.
I use Chrome on windows while testing.
But when I use Firefox on ubuntu, these errors vanish!
Is this issue with chrome or windows ?3 -

Firefox doesn't map correctly the controller (Xbox One) but it works on Chrome. (FF on Android Works)
This is literally the first time (for me) that something works on Chrome and not on FF. (at first shot)
usually it is the opposite.
One point for Chrome (this time)
but still 6,022*10²³ Points for FF.3 -

The beta version of the new DEVRANT TOOLBOX is available now.
Its an unofficial web extension for Chrome and Firefox.
Chrome Web Store:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...
Firefox:
The certifaction process takes a long time, therefore I provided a direct download for the xpi file (for side loading).
https://drive.google.com/drive/...
Additional features: DUAL FRAME MODE (feeds left, rants right), themes (black, mono, darkgray, darkblue, comic, solarized), scrollbar plugin (perfect scrollbar, FF only), extended controls, fixed header, sorted userprofiles (by votes), autoreload (recent feed, 180 sec), highlighting new rants (recent feed), personal filter, image preview (mouseover), keyboard shortcuts, timestamps for rants, compact mode, colored notifs with clickable usernames, weekly rant.
I tested the extension with Windows Browsers only.
It would be great to get a feedback how it works with other systems!
Have fun with the toolbox.7 -
Does anyone know if anything special is required to vertically center a div in Firefox?
It works perfectly fine in chrome and IE and Edge and freaking everything else!!12 -
You know it's kinda your fault when your CSS works properly in Internet Explorer and Firefox, but doesn't in Chrome or (non-Chromium) Edge.
However:
Spec says text-align doesn't apply to inline elements, but both Internet Explorer and Firefox seem to disregard that spec and do it anyway. What the fuck?3 -
*Writing JS validation*
step1: testing for the 1st time

step2: fixing script

Firefox: all good

step3: fixing script for IE
Chrome: with bug
Firefox: with bug
IE: with bug
step4: revert to step 2

I've noticed that My system is not hanged yet when I opened two times more tabs in Firefox in comparison of Chrome.4
-
I tried Firefox Quantum, but sadly back to Chrome it is for me.
I miss my extensions too much, and can't quite find an exact match for them in FF
It also still managed to use 3GB RAM 🙄2 -
Yesterday a colleague was debugging some piece of typescript code for memory leaks as chrome and firefox were hanging at a certain page.
Her real brainfuck was that everything seemed to be working fine with edge. Microsoft, somehow, finds a way to fuck with developers. -
Had a markdown text in gitlab and tried to print it. It did not work.
Pasted it into atom then ctrl shift m

FU OneTab. This is second time you lost my saved tabs. Off you go.
TL;DR OneTab extension has major bug.
Anyone who read my suggestions/comments to use OneTab to save your opening tabs on your Chrome and Firefox, I apologize from here. And suggest you to be careful with it. I know that I have recommended it plenty of times here.
I have no idea what's causing the data lost. I used OneTab since years ago on Chrome and it worked fine. I switched to Firefox when Quantum came out. OneTab came to FF addon repo this year. I was very happy and installed and used it straight away. But it wasn't as good as before.
I don't like to open lots of tabs. Max I have will be a dozen. I like to work different task, different project on different windows. I usually have 2 windows. One window for my personal and social use with tabs like devRant, discord, etc. Second window for one of my projects and I usually work on one project at a time. If I have to juggle among multiple projects unfortunately, I open third or fourth windows respectively.
Hence, saving all opening tabs of a window to be able to open it easily next time is a very useful feature for me. I don't even need those saved to be permanent. I save URLs I frequently visit as bookmarks and URLs I found useful to pocket.
OneTab served that purpose. But losing saved tabs is definitely major problem for me. So I have uninstalled it and now giving a try to Stash. Very new add-on, so I'm still not sure of it yet. On bright side, it is made for Firefox and open-source. OneTab is not open-source.
https://github.com/globau/...
So far Stash is working fine. But I will wait and see for a week or so.2 -
Yesterday while learning some basic php stuff, prof was telling us about text fields and how php auto converts HTML and JavaScript.
He said to test it out before class, he wrote a lil JS script and submitted it to a text field using IE and then again using Chrome.
IE let the script run no problems (big surprise) but chrome blocked the script from running.
He doesn’t use Firefox, but I just recently switched from chrome to FF so I tested it out in class on FF.
I was surprised to see FF ran the script no problem. Surprised because I made the switch because of security reasons, my partner helped me secure all my shit and we both switched to FF cause every resource suggested it.
This is just one small case that I feel isn’t a huge deal, my prof said any decent dev will strip tags or whatever, but made me think: are there any other security concerns with FF? Am I right to consider it a more secure and therefore “better” browser?4 -
That moment you test in chrome, but doesn't work in Firefox.... *sight* .... fuck dammit... hey, at least is not IE10....3
-
IIS curse you and your nuances!
I launch my local web application (which was working fine) and now get CORS errors and 404 not found. Wtf. I clean the solution rebuild, same thing. Then I restart my PC and try again. Same thing.
Then I use Firefox instead if chrome and it magically works. Wtf!
It's hard to fix broken things when they fix themeselves afyer trial and error2 -

Firefox Quantum vs Chrome - Round 2
I was prompted with an update for FF (auto-updater always fails for some reason), went on their website, found that part on the page, and opened up task manager. Had a short laugh.
FF: 7 tabs
Chrome: 2
Same extensions (AdBlocker, Ghostery, PageSpeed). Chrome has JetBrains integration though.
Actually 60% more use. Quantum Optimisations™7 -
Comparing three browsers applying exact same style, ttb edge chrome firefox, where chrome is the intended look and edge the most fucked up one whoo2

Could never decide which one is better. So i just use both randomly. What about you? Chrome or Firefox?30

Just saw BigInt in chrome 67. Seems very useful in currency calculations. Searched on Mozilla, found nothing. Is it a V8 only thing, or another browser will catch up soon? Anyone have any idea? 🤔9

Just dropping some current experience here.
Content security policies are big mess in both chrome and firefox.
Chrome has some 4 years old "bug" where you can't add hash of JS file to 'style-src' policy to permit inline-styles THAT would be set by this script (jQuery actually).
Firefox is beautifully unhelpful, it just pops of error "blocked ..something..", not even saying what it was.
EDIT:
And I am missing a pair of some steel balls to ask about this on SO because there is this much of very similar questions, nonetheless -if I did read them right- every one of them is talking about enabling style attribute, and that's something different.
EDIT2: Chrome currently generates 138 errors "jquery-3.4.0.min.js:2 Refused to apply inline style..." , this ain't hitting production.10 -
Report comes in that there is "no purchase confirmation screen" in the app.
Well, yes the hell there is, so I use the test credit card to make a purchase. Sure enough, it works fine on my testing account. Just to be sure, I try a couple other test accounts. Flawless.
"No, try it on *this* account"
I try again on their stupid account. Works fine.
"Well I just tried it in Chrome and it worked, it doesn't work in Firefox"
I was already testing in Firefox...
Wasting my time over a corrupted browser profile.. GTFO, why are you even a tester? -
Chrome...
Chome what the hell is this?
In Firefox with my default theme I can tell which tab is open and which one isn't. In Chrome, you put !!white as a highlight over gray.
You have actually managed to design a UI element almost on the same level of terrible as IE6-11, almost.2 -
So I and couple of my friends are facing this chrome issue where 'waiting for proxy tunnel' , apparantly it's changing my location too,
It should return .co.in and returns .ae ,
Wtf I'm scared as hell, for now Firefox is a lifesaver ♥️3 -
I'll take... "osu!". I like music and rhythmic games although I know sh[BLEEP] on C#.

I don't know if its Firefox the browser is TRASH or something else? I have switched from Chrome to Firefox in steps to de-google myself. I missed some of the features but I found a workaround apart from the Chrome Netflix Extended extension. I binge watch lots of Netflix series and after a while seeing intro again and again quite frustrates me. With Chrome, I didn't have to worry about that but with Firefox there weren't any add-ons which works properly so this weekend I decided to make my own.
If you are a Firefox user, please give it a try and let me know.

Damn. 3days and not yet finished with this bug.
Problem: in js, we want to popup a dialog to user that he us living the page.
So we used onbeforeunload.
Works well with chrome, ie and firefox (atfirst).
Then i updated my firefox to latest version and onbeforeunload is not triggering.
And it also occurs in tablet. Argh! Damn challenges on cross platform/browser compatibilities.
Help! Please7 -
different browsers rendering same things differently...
i have a slider with a given width of 7em. in edge it renders as i want it to, chrome fucks it up and makes it way smaller and display way off position and its parent div is way too big, firefox is somehow between those 2? all browsers are scaled to 100% 😥😒4 -
Oh my... Webkit is trolling me again. How easy was it to style a website in Firefox and then I found out it looks like shit in Chrome. I can't event fix it fuckkkk.
The best part of the story - it's Bootstrap so I would assume it could work the same across the browsers.undefined no way to fix i wont change my whole template webkit rip chrome eat it google fags bootstrap ez firefox2 -

I had a fun experience today.
Updated my system, got plenty of unsuspecting dpkg errors. Couldn't figure out how to solve them (all relating to something python-*). Next issue was Firefox, which wouldn't even start.
Uninstall, reinstall.
And it won't even start up without immediately giving me some XML error related to... chrome? Whatever.
Start it from the terminal, mostly to see if it gives me the error in more detail. Ublock Origin does not like when Firefox gets reinstalled apparently. Spend more time than I'd like to admit getting a Firefox to start in safe mode with all extensions disabled. Apparently it's 'firefox -safe-mode' (yes I didn't try the obvious because I wasn't thinking). Uninstall all my extensions then Install them again, problem solved.
Now to solve those damn dpkg errors...1 -
Is it just me or is it nearly impossible to get Chrome to dump its cache?
I'm curling a CloudFront distribution from command line and getting a different HTML file to when I clear the cache on Chrome. Firefox browser works fine from fresh install.
Chrome incognito also works3 -
Funny fact and rant at the same time.
I disabled auto update on all my chromium based browsers I use to make sure they don't send any telemetry in background os process, because all companies that make chromium based browsers run the process in background when browser is not running.
The only one that do it during browser running is firefox. -
Gah! Have a jQuery function that works perfectly in Chrome, but seems to mysteriously disappear in Firefox and IE!!1

so we are having a campus recruitment at college. So there's a company that came in campus . The first step was to register on their website however their website is so shitty that they have specified that their Website is working just on Chrome and IE and not on Firefox . I was like what kind of developer support IE over Firefox really on top my friends who were applying at this company spend over 5 hrs just to register and the worst part @ 9 their server crashed . I would rather drink bleach than joining such a company1

You won't believe this fucking bullshit I saw in a site right now.
My mom is trying to setup a something from work and the sysadmin guy asked to download a remote desktop software called "ammyy". As I try to help her download the software in Google Chrome, the site says "Google Chrome or Firefox does not support this download. Use internet explorer to download".
Wtf is this bullshit?!
To make matters worse, that site does not even have HTTPS enabled!
I'm speechless. -

It's 2022 and web browsers are still unable to unfollow redirects.
If I open some URL in a new tab and it redirects me to /503.html or similar due to some server errors (which is bad design to begin with), there is no way to see which URL was redirected from. The "back" (←) navigation button is greyed out, so there is nowhere to go back to.
One might open a new tab to look at it later without realizing it redirected to an error page. Then one opens it, sees /503.html, and has forgotten which article one was going to read.
Only on the mobile edition of Chrome/Chromium, switching between desktop and mobile view unfollows the redirect. But on Firefox mobile, Chrome/Chromium-based desktop, and Firefox desktop, there is no way to know which URL redirected me there. -
I'm frustrated with the Firefox Quantum. When a perform a query it takes a long time. I've unchecked the Prevent Accessibility option, I've reseted it, removed all plugins, reinstalled,... I do not know what else to do... Change to chrome?

In legacyCode, somebody mixed jQuery data-toggle with custom JS triggers that toggle the target's DOM node, and to "fix" the mess, set display: block !important.
Took me too long to remember that Firefox dev tools show JS events (while my Chrome dev tools don't - why?) now I'm on the right track towards a solution...4 -
Chrome doesn't support something, something Firefox doesn't.
When you plan to take a risk, they give F*** you later on.
IE do you even exist? -
Firefox if you want to be the best shit, better fix/ implement most of newer ECMA standards(well a decade old actually), otherwise I have no choice but to use the spyware shit called Google Chrome.1

Next step I will probably go to vivaldi or come back to chrome.

Is it me only having to deal with horrible meeting product?
Arch Linux as my base OS, justifies my all-time updated system, NPAPI being deprecated in Firefox, Chrome and have to use Cisco WebEx every Saturdays and Sundays.
Just hate having to return to Windows to make WebEx chrome extension work for the meeting to be possible, and then a CentOS VM running for all the demonstration, explanation and teaching...
Although, IcedTea in Linux makes it possible but oh well it WebEx is still a horrible headache.1 -
Yo any webdevs out there is forefox the nes IE ? I'm working on a simple dashboard for a project i used Justgage for gauges the whole thing looks great in chrome, safari, edge and opera. in firefox everything went to shit ... what the actual fuck !!!!!
-
Fuck Mozilla! !!
Why do yu mess everything up
My app looks nice and neat in Chrome
Load up Firefox and the whole thing crumbles21 -
Why the fuck is it Impossible to get crisp font rendering on chrome (widows desktop), Firefox looks sooooo much more crispy... Get your shit together Google, also while your at it, catch up to Firefox with WebAssembly loading time.
And Firefox, it would be really nice if you could start supporting brotli compression... Just saying.2 -
Emulating a mobile browser in desktop Chrome does not show any virtual keyboard even when tapping into an input field. Same error in Firefox (and same in Vivaldi).
I thought there had been an emulated soft keyboard in the past, or was that only in Opera mobile emulator?
Is there any browser that runs on Linux that still does a proper mobile emulation?8 -
Why is it that Browsersync works so much faster and cleaner in Chrome then Firefox. I want to dev in Firefox but Chrome is seriously tempting me with it's faster refresh rate with HTML and JS.
Google I want to hate you and dammit sometimes I just can't. 😫3 -
Chrome vs Firefox ram usage. Chrome running 1 tab (moodle) and Firefox a blank startup tab. I was genuinely surprised to see Firefox using more than 50% more compared to chrome. Both browsers are 64 bit and chrome has perhaps 10 extensions while Firefox only 59

If you too are sick of pull-to-refresh in Google Chrome, please consider signing this petition:
https://change.org/p/...
While I doubt it will get Google to change their minds, it is worth a shot.
FAQ:
Why not just use Firefox?
Because it can't save pages as HTML or MHTML file. Don't even get me started with SinglePage; it is bogus garbage.
Why not just use Kiwi/Brave/etc. ?
Because Google made it mandatory in its codebase, Brave and Kiwi browser and all those other chromium-based third-parties have it mandatory too. This needs to change.6 -
It is so frustrating that browsers had to keep the open developer tools as Ctrl+shift + C.I work with a ton of terminals and lot of browser tabs and when I try to copy text , I automatically type Ctrl + shift + C and boom , the developer tools opens up.I know we could change the key bindings but who the hell kept the "open developer tools " shortcut as Ctrl + Shift + C.That is a serious flaw!!! Fucking hate it..
-
I just got a U2F key, and I have an extension for Firefox for it to work on that browser. When I try to set it up in my Google account it wants me to use Chrome. Now why the fuck can't they check for the functionality instead of what browser I'm using?
-
Downloaded Firefox Quantum after the hype. Opened it. Loaded a website. Closed it again 😂
What are the dev tools like? I was never a fan on the FF dev tools for some reason. Are they more comparable to Chrome now?5 -
I've been using Firefox mobile for years and still cannot save a page as HTML
YOU ARE A F*CKING WEB BROWSER! CAN'T YOU JUST LET ME SAVE IT AS HTML! WHERE IS MY SAVE-AS BUTTON?
no problems with PC version though
*sigh* I hate it, but I'm leaving firefox mobile for Chrome2 -
*************THE BROWSER'S MEET***********
(firefox chrome safari internet exploror in a row)
CAPTAIN: What we are???
(firefox, chrome, and safari in one sound ): BROWSERS !!!!!
CAPTAIN: WHAT DO WE DO??
BROWSERS: we make surfing fast.!!
INTERNET EXPLORER: BROWSERS!!!!!

Going back to Chrome! :( The reason: I was for like 1 hour trying to figure out why the 'src' of a image wasn't getting changed by JavaScript, then BOOM, SO explains me that Firebug doesn't update those kind of changes :/ That and the fact you can't edit your external js from the browser... That was your last chance Firefox :(2

Chrome handles CSS animation on an SVG element with 500 nodes like a champ with an SVG graphic with outline animation over it.
Firefox barely animates the SVG then has tearing issues when a part of the SVG leaves the viewport and re-enters. Annoying AF and now a changed design. -
Ok so, another post got me thinking…
Every browser I’ve tried sucks one way or another. Chrome, Firefox, Vivaldi etc…
Safari on my work Mac is so far the least annoying one, although it seems to have an issue with Google’s services…
On my personal computer (Linux) I use mainly Vivaldi, tho I have Firefox installed as well since apparently Vivaldi doesn’t quite support everything on the interwebs…
So, fellow ranters, what are your favoured browsers (all platforms go!) and most importantly, why?11 -
watch this
i opened some site on chrome bc i expect new results and there aint none so i figured maybe its bc of the cache of my browser
so i opened firefox
firefox took over 2 minutes to load (yes literally over 2 minutes) and it still DIDNT load the site so i lost patience and closed firefox
i opened internet explorer
internet explorer opened the site in 4 seconds.
chrome > ie > firefox
fight me.
edit: but of course the js on ie doesnt even fkig work so i couldnt do shit either way3 -
I'm about to give up on chrome canary on my Mac. Opens up tonnes of empty tabs (sometimes over 30) when I put the OS to sleep and fire it up later. It's slow and sometimes I have to refresh pages for the page to display correctly. Gonna go with Firefox for now.1

When you love programming so much that you keep learning new technologies! But your company doesn't even installed Chrome or Firefox

How broken is z-index implementation on Chrome?!
Almost an hour lost today, due to perfectly fine web code running on Firefox, but showing completely wrong z-order on Chrome.
The reason? I manually changed the z-index of a child and not the one from the parent DIV. (and I was only making the child z-order *higher* than everything else on screen, so I could drag it around)
Code now has a bunch of "// thanks Chrome!" to show due appreciation. Grrr....1 -
Is there a web browser for Linux that supports hw accelerated video decode?
(Intel graphics)
There are so many bug reports for this, but all seem to be "won't fix"/ api is unstable or some other problem
I want to watch youtube without it destroying my battery.
(I know I can load the stream into a video player like VLC and watch it there, but that is not very practical...)1 -
My Snowflake Tor extension is automatically off every time I start Chrome. I have to turn it off and on for it to activate.
Works perfectly fine on Firefox though.
😕 -
curse you Firefox!!
Strangle yourself and die in a corner...........
For the longest time, a div was not centered vertically in Firefox even though it worked perfectly fine in Chrome and Edge......
Set parent height (who is using flex) to 1% and boom, it works now as expected.....
WTF!1 -
after seeing this -> https://theverge.com/2018/9/...
I feel so frigging great that i ditched that abysmal piece of $h1t long ago!2 -
Wow Chrome, you can just go fuck yourself. I am trying to make this epic CSS effect for one fucking hour just to find out filter animations are completely trash and broken there. At least our Firefox clients will still see it thanks to @supports...4

Long time reader. Switched to firefox recently it's kind cool but i miss a lot of my chrome extensions (I deved this one https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/... maybe you'll find it useful).
See ya! -
Thanks to Google for at least keeping the local performance analysis tool in the Chrome developer tools.
Firefox Profiler is a joke. -
I'm try to make a color picker browser extension and I want to open eyedropper element in firefox using `EyeDropper` api but it doesn't support in firefox it is only support in chrome, is there any alternative of it in firefox?8

testing a form and having to fill in the info every single time I change the code - gross
Does anyone know of a way to refresh a form (ctrl+F5 in chrome) while keeping the data?6 -
Started using Brave browser coz my bf wouldn’t shut up about it. Consumes much less memory than both chrome and firefox which is cool. Still haven’t figured out the in-built vpn yet. Cool i can import data from my firefox like my bookmarks and shit and I understand why I can’t import my saved passwords but damn i wish i could. I don’t know my passwords to anything anymore thanks to browsers beautifully saving my passwords and i am just frustrated having to go and copy passwords. This relationship with brave is clearly not going to last coz wtf3

Has anyone noticed that lately Safari renders websites faster?
I have been testing the cache on one of our sites. Been testing with Safari, Chrome, Firefox(Clean no addons) and FirefoxDeveloperEdition. The response time from the server is pretty much identical on all the browsers. But Safari is definitely quicker at rendering it out.
Anyone got a clue why? The only thing i suspect is that safari doesnt have dev tools enabled, so that might be the culprit? -
Is anyone else having trouble posting images? I've tried in FireFox and Chrome and for the past few days, any time I attach an image to post as a joke/meme, the post button switches to the loading icon and then goes straight back. There's no error message.1

Bitbucket's Javascript bullshit... gotta fucking have fast clicking fingers on a merge before the browser js crashes AGAIN... Firefox never threads the needle but you might just get it if you go fast on chrome...
