I have an array of 1037 records. The soap service only accepts 100 at a time. So, I write code to send an array of 100 records at a time to the soap service in a loop and get a response back of, "The maximum number (100) of records allowed for this operation has been exceeded." Well, I'll try 99 records then. Nope same error. I'll try 50 records, nope I'll just bang my head on the desk now since the documentation and error say it is a record limit of 100. 😠
Look at my code again. I was grabbing 100 records out of the array of 1037 records and storing it in a new array, but I was sending the original array with 1037 records instead of the temporary array in the loop. 😢 I'm going to bed.7 -
Once I forgot to break a loop that was supposed to send 100 email to a colleague in the middle of the night.
She did not get 100 emails, she got alot more11 -

Everyone that finds out you're an app dev: "So I have this multimillion $$$ idea!"
Me: "I'll do it for $100."
Everyone: "$100!? I'm giving you the chance to be part of the next best thing!"
Me: "Well I guess the 'next best thing' isn't even worth $100."
I literally don't even like telling people what I do 😒5 -
Always work below your capacity.. if you give 100% that will always be expected. 70% gives you some wiggle room, plus you're the hero that saves the day when you kick it up to 100.13

Wrote a script that calms the extreme use of exclamation/question marks and capslocked rants, do have to say, it makes it much easier to read many of the rants, it also adds small stats at the bottom of the rant
may sound like it takes the "fun" out of those rants, but it only triggers if the capslock is more than the lowercased letters
wish the devrant webapp was accessible from mobile, to use all them scripts on mobile too25 -
HR: Everyone must fill out these 100% anonymous surveys about how you feel about our company, it’s leadership, and how likely you are to leave in the next 6 months etc. Please be 100% honest, since again it is 100% anonymous. Fucking cloud providers always trying to steal your shit and spy on your things, fucking prying eyes. That's why i've decided to go back hosting my own private cloud from home. Running on some very energy efficient shit: dual core intel atom cpu (so slow that it can't fucking run windows normally), 16gb of ram, because why the fuck not? and 1tb 2.5"hdd, along with unlimited data - 100/100 Mbit/s internet connection with a server response time less than 95ms just to backup my shitty Iphone selfies and cat pics, host some very important files and regularly back up my contacts. This shit runs CentOS, Nginx, https, bitch! This platform is more trustworthy than your shitty dropbox or whatever other shit they offer you. I can choose whether i back-up my shit from local network or over internetz, Costing me no more than 25€ annually(just to keep the machine on 24/7/365).14

Question.
Would you work 100 hour weeks?
I just read that some developers of game company Rockstar had to work 100 hour weeks because of a deadline for Red Dead Redemption 2.
“We were working 100-hour weeks [several times in 2018],” lead writer Dan Houser explained.
So... would you accept or refuse?16 -

To fetch 100 users at once, i used JPA hibernate findAll() method. Simple fucking enough. I realized this shit is slow. Takes a while to fetch and 100 records aint even a lot!
This shit needs over 265 ms to fetch 100 users
About 75 ms to fetch 20 users
That shits terrible!
Then i wrote a custom JDBC class with custom SQL queries to fetch the exact same shit.
Now it fetched 100 users in 7 ms, 37x times faster for performance
I havent even optimized indexing or did shit. I just avoided using jpa hibernate
Someone explain this to me8 -
dubSmall = lambda x: x*(2-min(1,x//100))
dubSmall = lambda x: 2*x if x < 100 else x
I prefer the first one, and I think people will always hate me for that.6 -
T(x, y)=x*(1+y/100)+√-1
x = hours estimated from Boss. if the boss
y = sum of the features with the following weight:
Multiplatform = 10
Web = 5
social * = 100
blockchain = 100
HTML-email = 10
Every other bullshit bingo term = 20
everything else = 1
Terms that appear multiple times count multiple times.
If the boss didnt give his estimate triple the feature-value and use 100 as x-value3 -

Why do SAMBA network drives have to suck this much? Yeah I understand that compiling to a network drive is probably a bad idea just for performance reasons alone but can't you at least not fuck with my git repo?

Is that me or Lenovo cannot figure out the bios issue I am having with my ideapad-100. The Linux kernel says that the bios has a bug in it and then Windows can't update because the bios has a bug, the bios updater tells me the bios is perfectly fine. This is weird because the laptop is unstable whatever the Os and yeah it did that since I bought it and sent it to be repaired and still the issues goes on

Question for all you Java devs out there (and a story). We have a customer that we interfacing with their machine. They sent us a simulator that runs in Windows written in Java. I did try running it in Linux, but the JVMs I have installed did not like it at all. Complained about missing deprecated stuff. I start up their sim in Windows and find it is opening between 50 and 100 network ports. Then I tell the simulator to run inside the gui for their program. It pegs all of my processor cores at 100%. I have pegged cores in software before, then corrected my errors in my code. However, I have never pegged all the cores at once. I am kind of in shock.
So, how hard is it to peg all the cores in a Java program? I assume they have a thread on every port or some nonsense?6 -
