Funniest meeting ever!

Some years ago, there was the regular department meeting where useless news from upper management were handed down. The team I was in was also there: team lead, co-worker and me. The team lead had a new girl and was daydreaming of their nights, my co-worker wasn't quite back from the football match on the weekend, and I was playing chess on my mobile.

Department lead was blah blah blah and when can we do this on your rig? We looked at each other and instantly realised that none had been paying attention.

My co-worker was the fastest to recover and straight-facedly turned to me: "Well Fast-Nop, that's your domain."

I picked the ball up before team lead could say something: "Sure, but schedule appointment is for our lead."

Our lead couldn't contradict us and then had to negotiate a schedule while trying to find out what it was about. *LOL*

About week ago I finally upgraded to ios 12 and I really like screen time reporting. It forces me to spend less time using phone.

I usually listen to trance when I really have to focus on coding, helps to clear my head, but I do listen to other stuff when i'm working at a more relaxed pace.

When you are listening music and reading devRant, the only thing you concentrate on is reading. Because sometimes rants are more interesting than your music. 😀

Not working, not looking at the phone, not listening to music, just sitting there and doing nothing until you get bored enough to get back to it.

I like listening to music from SoundCloud while working. Tried Spotify because I had read about its next level recommendation engine. Honestly felt that Soundcloud provides much better recommendations for the kind of music I like than Spotify.

Trying to work out an encoding bug after upload, I ask them to send me the original version of the file that is currently uploaded. I look at the files and they seem strangely similar, but strangely different.

Always amazes me how as soon as someone is given the "tech lead" hat, they tend to argue for an alternative implementation for the sake of having last say instead of listening to those with more domain knowledge.

So I was listening to some music from Papa Roach when suddenly my mind did some weird stuff, which led me to the following conclusion:

Listening to music and watching movies helps me to focus. But I never found a way to solve my procrastination problem...

Something weird happens when doing something heavy in JetBrains IDE:
When I compile a project or when I just try to load one the music I'm listening to is scratching.
That's weird!

Listening to Kavinsky and having the urge to do some coding in 80's atmosphere , then remembering semester starts in two days and I really gotta pass those courses. *sigh*

I love listening to music when programming. It's not something I started because I wanted to, but it just kinda happened.

In my first job as an intern, they followed concept of open office, a very shitty strategy as it led to chaos and noise all the time around my desk. To move away from that, bought a pair of Sony headphones, which I still consider as my best investment.

Started listening to songs since they're a better choice in the cacophony of chaos present around. These days, even though I work in a regular and calm environment still can't seem to get rid of the practice of listening to songs.

Anyone here have similar experience??

Listening to rain sound or pleasing sounds while coding helps me think straight and sets a good mood for me to complete a task.Music sets me straight.

Dear god...I hate planning meetings. Especially planning meetings that aren’t even for my team. Just listening to these folks jerking themselves off about their accomplishments. Doesn’t help that the chairs are these painful folding chairs that hurt my ass.

Finished my last audiobook and decided to start listening to Kevin Hearne druid series audiobook yesterday.

It’s really nice story about old druid ( looking like 20 something ) living in modern times in Arizona. Lots of Celtic mythology and great humorous dialogues.
I really enjoy it.
