Boss 1: You have such a dedicated team of workers, how do you make them all come in time?
Boss 2: Its simple, 30 employees, 20 parking spaces.14 -
"Today I won't code, I'll just play some games or watch TV and relax!"
"Hmmm... I'll just fix this one small thing here... shouldn't take long. And then its time for some gaming!"
* 3 hours later *
Still coding, wtf is wrong with me6 -
*Lazy Friend has IntelliJ and Eclipse*
*Lazy Friend using Notepad++*
Me: Why don't you use IntelliJ? Its debugger really helps..
LF: It takes too much time to start, I don't have that much time..
*continues staring at his screen and using his mind debugger*
It's kinda funny when he just sits and stares at his screen after saying that he doesn't have any time..
It took way less time to find the (a?) bug when he finally used the debugger..7 -
I fucking hate Apple products now.
iPhone 5s time was Apple's prime.
Now it's just a company living off the momentum of its old products.
iPhone X.. really ? the notch ?7 -
After giving 1000 posts a ++ its time to say hello :)
It's a really nice community and I already spent some hours reading rants. Thanks for this great place.15 -
its amazing how far technology has come. I can edit a hi-res image in real time with a computer smaller than my hand.10

Ex-coworker of mine fixed this bug a week after the site was launched and has gathered several thousand users in database.
Yep its exactly what you think it is, each time one user would update its infos, it would update his infos to all the users in the database.
Luckily I was not in charge of the project in that time, so it was really fun to watch how everyone's name was changing every couple of minutes for a whole week :D12 -
Me: "oh its a new year, time to check out some shiny new languages"

How to become cool in a developer community:
- try javascript for the first time
- pretend to use it like your favorite programming language (99% C)
- notice it is different
- rant about how stupid is javascript and its users7 -

FUCK CSS!
I spend more time positioning a single button than learning a frickin framework!
I gave up trying to make a div the same height as its parent. No clue why height:100%; doesn't work!20 -
You know what I realized we should always say no for demo driven application development.
We should always ask for enough time do a proper development and if its not enough, shouldn’t write a single line.
Because once we deliver a working demo. Its release ready for them because its FUCKING WORKING..
And trying to explain why this is just a demo and cant be put to production is even bigger pain in the ass than saying no in the beginning.
LESSON LEARNED .4 -
How everyone see weekends:
Its party time and I can finally sleep and watch movies as much as I want...
How devs see weekends:
Finally I can work more on this cool project...6 -
It has been every loooong time since I have visited our huge local forest with its small mountains. About 10 years actually.
It feels great!2 -
When I'm on call and its weekend, I'm often a little nervous the entire weekend and time seems to go slow.
Programming on the dns proxy/firewall now and time is suddenly going quite faster.
This is a damn relieve.6 -
LAST MINUTE:
The heavenly time window we're all thankfully entitled to!
Its where 90% of my productivity lies,
Its when 80% of my projects were developed,
Its when 'responsibility' synonymous to 'panic',
Its when i start to realise the dark and deep depths of the universe,
Its what gives me my purpose in life.2 -
Why does this keep happening.? Earlier I thought its a one-time thing but now-a-days it has become more frequent.6
-
fuck you SimpleDateFormat. Every single time. get one case incorrect, suddenly its june the 45th, 3017.8

The award of fastest internet on earth goes to me :D
*note:
its just Ubuntu was not able to update date/time settings during setup cuz I had wifi turned off, turned it back on and ran apt-get update, must have started before the system was able to update its date/time settings, so ya I did not photshop :)11 -
Humans generally distract the fuck out of me when I try to code. And when they leave me alone, Windows decides its a great fucking time to install its shitty updates.2
-
Every time I use Javascript it feels like flying a plane with no gas in the middle of nowhere, all buttons in Chinese, only driving knowedge is scooters and yet somehow I land the plane in its destination.5
-
So I've been exporting a JSON dump of ~120GB for hours and when trying to processing it, and write it to a new file, I wrote to the same file. FML. Hours of export became 0 bytes in no time. Think its time to get some sleep.4

Mobile plan with fairly decent call time and 2gigs of internet: $20
Mobile plan with no calls and unlimited internet: $5
Yep its time to put telegram on my family's phones17 -
Was practicing kotlin today.
After finishing a file I ran the clean the code thingy and it removed 137 semicolons.
Its gonna take some time getting used to not ending with ;5 -

Saw time in a digital clock (HH:MM) [05:14] thought I should take a 1 minute break and decided to start at 05:15.
2 seconds later its 05:15......fuuuuuuuuuuuu3 -
My country just changed its time zone from UTC+3 to UTC+2.
Now I have to change the server to handle requests correctly!
PS. Probably tomorrow will be a big chaos for everyone!10 -
I hate this work from home shit with your family around. "You're always in front of the computer, go workout, go socialize, its family time"
What part of "work from home" you don't understand. SMH!9 -
I am happy!
Participated in Hacktoberfest for the first time, and now, the t-shirt (which, btw, looks pretty nice imo) is on its way! Can't wait!
Thanks to the people who organize these sort of events ❤️😁2 -
Finally got time to share my new laptop. I love its rgb backlight keyboard. I will buy a NVMe SSD and second monitor asap.6
-
You know what grinds my gears. Spaghetti code, bloated code base with 5000 line files, and poor file organization.
Seriously really pissing me off right now. Its like walking into a library and there's no shelves and the books are just thrown into massive piles.
I've spent so much time trying to figure shit out just to implement basic things. Its messing with my productivity and making me hate my job.5 -

Fuck Deutsche Bahn in the arse with multiple cacti. A country that is proud of its railway, cannot actually fucking manage to get one fucking train moving on fucking time.
Have I ever arrived anywhere on time? Fuck no! Deutsche bahn can promise to get you there, but never actually manage to get you there! Fuuuuuuuuck!41 -
As a student I was looking for part time jobs, one of the job postings was titled "Database assistant". When I looked at the job description, its about filling out excel sheets -_-3
-
Visiting my hometown for the weekend means that i get to enjoy drinks with my old friends for like quarter the price i would pay in the city.
Yes its epic throwing up time2 -
I was fixing a bug in Production and at the same time, the same client called me for the other project saying its too urgent.
I was like Oh god what now?
Guess what she wanted to change the color of Navbar.5 -
Why do people always think the following:
When something goes wrong on windows its the fault of windows.
When something goes wrong on linux its probably a misconfiguration.
Most of the time things that go wrong on windows are misconfigurations or faulty software.10 -
good night my fellow devs....
just finished my coding...
Its 3:20 am in India now...
Time to sleep9 -
Am I the only one ?
15+ years in c# / .net dev and I still google "c# string compare ignore case" each time. Its just fucking faster than to remember exact syntax of the "StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase"9 -
Looks like Keybase now also has its own shitcoin. Isn't it about time for that cryptocurrency wank to end already? How many more BitconneeeEEEECT's do we need?
But but but.. this is the next big thing! It will go *stellar*!7 -
After serveral weeks of stress, bug hunting, despair and fun - I JUST COMPLETED A PROJECT MILESTONE !!
Time for a reward :]3 -
My second computer was a large tower (486DX). When my Mom saw it first time under my desk she asked me: "Is that a mini fridge under your desk?" Me: "No Ma. Its actually a "smart" heater..."4
-
That time I thought I crashed a prod server which I had no access to physically turn it back on. Turned out it was doing its weekly reboot. Scary 3 minutes.
-
Used hashmap instead of arraylist for 13000+ entries and fetched it from hashmap. Earlier used to take 1500ms to execute and now only 500ms.. First time, optimization of code for which i can see the difference in real world.. Its a good feeling.
-
I feel my body is changing into greater entity that is God of Time and Space.
"How long does creating this feature takes?"
"42 mins and 12 seconds"
BOOM and its 42 minute, 12 second exact8 -
Gradle taking too much time to finish?
No problem I make it show me its status at the bottom of each website I visit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯5 -
I think today's the day, when I finally drop my dual booting safety net and install Linux exclusively on my main desktop9

I received this special picture per WhatsApp. It changes its color the first time while downloading and the second time after you tap on it.
It goes from about #ff96e1 to #42000d
(Yes, I know these Thumbnail-Faker but in this case it keeps changing its color even after opening and closing the pic multiple times)
I did not find anything by inspecting it on PC...
Does anyone have an idea how it works?21 -
FUCKING FINALLY TIME!!!
I did it! I made IntelliJ IDEA find my Android SDK installation!
Thanks SO!!!
Now I can experience the joy of Gradle build times!!!
Why did Google had to make so difficult to work with Android without its Studio?!?!?!12 -
Its 1:30am (South Africa) just had my 8 drive raid 50 fail on one of our main servers after 3 sudden drive failures at the same time after lightning struck our network and blew 2 Cisco 48 port switches...
Its gonna be a longgg fucking night.1 -
Long time no see devRant! Its been a long time since I have been active in this community but I am proud to say in my current job, for the first time, i am being paid to program! A wonderful feeling1

cold, wet and depressing autumn mornings/days.
Aaahhh, it's that time of the year again when you appreciate how hot your laptop and its charger get.
My feet enjoy my charger :)))10 -
From yesterday, I have made Firefox Developer edition my primary browser replacing chrome.
So far it's doing a great job. Its feel fast as chrome.
Some google site like docs or spreadsheet is lagging sometimes.
I still click on chrome time to time without realizing.
Let's see how far I can do with this experience.18 -
Ha ha! Fuck you Apple. Forced to use USB c after your stupid charger games every iphone release.
Its about time. You pricks keep forcing new chargers on me. I have a drawer full of obsolete chargers.18 -
NOOOOO ITS RIIIIISIIIIINGGGGG
Please help stop this stupidity, it's inceased by 5 MILLION since last time I checked...4 -
Goals
1. Learn android development
2. Spend more time coding than procastinating (its not my job)
3. Learn more cpp
4. Publish my first android app
5. Finish my current project2 -
So, its time for a new phone.
I'm looking at getting a OnePlus 6. Should I?
Currently using a iPhone 6s but I want to switch to android.
Whats my options?26 -
I was tricky this time and sent a separate email for the client and my boss about the new release.
Client response: "Its very good, runs flawlessly, could you check x if you have the time? It gives errors simetimes"
Boss response: "[...] urgent fix get working on it right now [...]"
Seems like my boss has been the fucking piece of shit all this time :)1 -
It feels like no matter what i fucking try at this point, the universe is doing everything in its power to stop me from succeeding.............. I got so fucking depressed that i am literally writing code and crying in the same time.........4
-
Ok guys, its a Sunday afternoon. Who is hustling like me right now? I'll do whatever it takes to create my own business and depend on myself 👊
I regret lots of wasted time playing games. I should have used all of that time to escape the rat race 💪
No one wants to become a high paid slave forever.8 -
I think its time to go to bed 😐
Edit: i forgot to attach the image
Edit 2: Where the fuck is the picture
Edit 3: You cant edit a rant to add a picture in devRantron, check comments for picture.7 -
Do you guys think it’s time “Hackers” gets its 2020 remake? I know it was cheesy for its time (1995) but 8 year old me was INTO that music video montage direction and that movie inspired was what inspired me to get into tinkering with electronics/embedded systems.
Rewatching it tonight and the casting is so on point, too.5 -
This is my first time experiencing agile development with its daily scrum meets, and I hate it already.2
-
Got a 1 day of alone time :) 8 hours WFH ant then the (almost) whole evening was MINE. Guess how it went :)
Coding until 2am and falling asleep on my keyboard, waking up on a cold lappy at 5am bcz its battery died and its aluminium frame was freaking freezing.
I know right? That was an awesome evening! I've managed to catch and fix some nasty bugs!6 -
Spent 5 hours working on a solution for a hash difficulty comparison/scaling algorithm. after a bunch of different iterations and approaches, I find that my problem can be solved by the attached equation. Its such a simple answer but no way in hell would you be able to discern the amount of time and brainpower that was put into it. The git commit is literally 10 lines of code total, but I guess its not about the amount of code, but the time spent thinking about it thay counts?6
-
Arrived. After making the order, the company contacted me to make sure its not a misstake :D I'm having so much fun (wasted time) with this ancient tech.8
-
"No my phone is faster then yours. I prove you"
Puts Android Device and iPhone next to each other and opens Facebook app at "the Same time" by clicking on the app icon after counting down from 3.
"See its way faster"

A recent post reminded me of this relic I build some time ago: http://xkcdaas.herokuapp.com/ I think its 5 or so years old, and heroku is still running it like a champ.1
-
Just spent three hours debugging why a jquery didn't do some actions with a div through its id. MAYBE NEXT TIME I SHOULD CHECK FOR FUCKING DUPLICATE ID'S AND REMEMBER COPYING SOME CODE THE DAY BEFORE WHICH CONTAINED THAT FUCKING ID. GODVERDEGODVERDOMME.

Have you noticed that mac users rarely use full screen mode? Its so hard to use that they just leave half sized windows, its so annoying when I have to ask every time if they can make it bigger17
-
Ranting too much on Windows updates comes with karma.
(I know, I guess it’s about time to clean its screen)11 -
Its time we need water proof notepads for our showers.
could have saved me a bundle of ideas which never came back5 -
I've written a script that logs my time tracker information into my timesheet at work and its fucking fantastic, so simple yet so satisfying. I needed to tell someone5
-
That feel when its monday and you know have a lot of work to do, but you don't seem to have any mood on coding...
time to disturb my coworker1 -
From an old time Windows user (3.11), coding on a fucking Mac is coding the way its meant to be. Hands down.9

when cortana knows youre a workaholic and reminds you its time to leave home to go to work "now" so u avoid traffic... on a Saturday3

When your small minded boss wants to make the company apps on Delphi firemonkey because it would save time. But won't pay for its 2k USD license and the crack makes the heavy ide crash all the time :(4

Its only Ubuntu for now, but I did install Arch Linux on a latop some time ago. So you could say, things are getting serious 🤓5 -
Well I thought only windows got this kind of problems.. seems like my mba does not like its new time machine volume :(
-
"Your goal should always be, working on building things so tomorrow you don't have to worry about them... If you are being repetitive its time to reevaluate"
-
You may not like but dokument everything in your project. It needs its time but it can save your job.
-
Its hard for a developer. Started to learn a new framework or CMS. By the time one gets familiar and fluent, a new and better one is already out.2
-
I think this is a new record... # of "Productionized" personal apps running at once
... Or maybe it means its time for another full reboot...2 -
I'm so done with my ISP. ITS THE FOURTH TIME THIS WEEK MY FUCKING INTERNET RANDOMLY DISAPPEARS BETWEEN 21:30 AND 22:00. AND ITS THE FOURTH DAY OF THE WEEK!!!! I GO TO FUCKING SCHOOL AT 6AM AND COME BACK AT 8 TO 9 MOST DAYS. OH BUT GUESS WHAT? NORMAL PEOPLE WOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY GAMES AT THIS TIME, CHAT WITH FRIENDS ON TEAMSPEAK OR JUST WATCH FUCKING SERIES. BUT ME?? NO, DO SHIT THE WHOLE DAY JUST TO GET HOME AND GET DISAPPOINTED AGAIN.3
-
Nothing ruins my day like having to touch up python scripts. I'm predominantly a Java dev and never learned Python properly so every time I do it its THE WORST2
-
For me its a good night sleep and have a strict rule not to work from home/not-working-location. It will make the window of working time more focused.2
-
I am a noob as of now. So much to learn! So little time. Its so difficult to juggle between learning new things and academics!3
-
time management and programming belong in the same realm
like i code at 9am then i take a sip of coffee, and then its 12am -
its time to back to university. these days were so relaxed. walk around on a different city, talked with my friends.and take many beautiful photos.😏a little tired , but happy.1

When you go to Windows from Linux after long time and Windows fucks you up by its freaking updates. The whole time waiting, I felt Windows was indirectly saying, "You left me for someone else and now you want me back? Suffer bitch!4

Te first time I walked into a computer science class, I thought of myself as someone big, until i learnt that being a developer is not made at school, its made by yourself.1

For the last month WhatsApp doesn't want to open anymore. I guess its time to drop it and tell people to text me again.

Now its time for Facebook stories.

As a sequel to my previous rant:
Me: git pull origin develop
Prettier: * runs *

Thanks prettier, that's exactly what i wanted to happen. I guess it's time for me to tweak its settings a little.4 -
If you ever get a chance to refactor a 5/6 years old code , just do it .
Dont loose hope , you'll eventually have a great time .
Its totally worth the effort and time . I learnt so many things. (still in the proccess)5 -

Word is spreading that CNN, which is owned by Time Warner, got a reddit users IP from their mods, and with their relation to Time Warner, got his identity.
Then extorted him to apologize or be revealed.
This is huge, and we don't even know its the only time it has happened.
VPNs may not even truly protect you if the ISP can connect the dots over time, with time stamps.
Holy shit, CNN just weaponized ipv41 -
i cant touch computer for two days, and it make me a strange feel. maybe its a good thing . through travel to relax myself.have a funny day and then start a new coding life😁.this holiday is a long time, after this travel .also have enough time to Learning some good framework.3

When you are modifying a test to accomadate for a new class implementation and manually calculate the expected output. Theoretically, this should not be much of an issue as its parent is an abstract class.30 mintues later and still banging my head, I decide to walk my dogs and then it hits.. I calculated the expected value incorrectly, the test was fine. Time for bed , its late -_-.

Why the FUCK is my VPN logging me out after a certain time. Its not like that I have to drive +4h to some remote location fix it when it cucks up at the wrong moment!

TFIG?! What TGIF. This feature took 6 hours? FML. -
On wednesday we always work from 10:00 untill 20-21:00 because of weekly meetings with product owners who have a full time job besides being a product owner..
Its okay, we get free food and often have a couple beers, but the last weeks its been killing me...
Other people bail out because they want to do something with their friends that evening but I always feel like its a commitment we made as a team so as lead dev I should be there..
Think next week im going to bail out for a time2 -

In 2020, the Earth slightly accelerated its spin.
For the first time in history, we need to add a *negative* leap second in our datetime systems.

It's 10:30 at night, you have had two large glasses of wine, and its time to "play the shit outa minecraft!"...4

Its time to remind ourselves the wonderful time of the year, where people look back and decide to be better and learn from your mistakes...
For example never test in prod and wake me up with notifications you dumbfucks... Someone has exams to do..
Seriously, I have seen a lot of push notifications lately, its some kind of Letstestinprod-uary?1 -
Put this as a comment but felt that it needed a post of its own.
I ducking love my fuck (see what I did there ;P) He my little coding buddy, I gave him a little back story and everything.

Doesn't Python kind of contradict its own mantra. When they write explicit is better than implicit but at the same time they provide collection literals?5

It has been 2 days since I completed a project and I still don't feel like working. I wake up, waste the whole time and repeat. Ugghhh its frustrating!!!1

Word of advice:
Whenever you plan you invest a considerable amount of time in learning a new language make sure that its well documented and has a good support.1 -
git, easily. Once you understand how its data model works you can unfuck pretty much anything and it feels like time-travel sometimes.
-
Just purchased a new domain and decided to once again design my website personally (Fuck wordpress man) but...
I absolutely hate working with HTML and JS at the same time (I actually love JS on its own), its like bloody Stockholm syndrome!
HTML may beat me senseless.. But i love it too much to stop!1 -
I regret not learning c++ earlier. I learned Java before and now I have to work with mainly c++ for its libs and it took some time to adjust also I've never used Java for anything useful so far.
-
Its feels so damn good to know we live in a time where computation has become so damn cheap that Amazon gives away a Tesla configured system for around 2.5$ an hour ... Like seriously.. all this progress took it's time .. but still seems really fast .. well .. good for us .. no rant here 😂

Herding managers all day, I feel like a corporate cowboy.
Ewww… one just shat on my Balenciaga boots in spite - guess it’s time to cut its balls off.2 -
I don't know why, but every time I consume even a tiniest bit of information about Gary Vaynerchuk, I cringe immensely. It almost feels like an informational virus that just makes you cringe whenever you just acknowledge its existence.6
-
funny when project managers divide a developer's time like its 25% yours per day and 75% mine and then both assign him 8 hours of work.
-
Azure. Its so vast has something for just about anything, and isn't crazy expensive if you implement whatever it is you're doing with cost in mind.
Used different features of it at old companies Storage (blob/table), service bus, application insights, app centre, event hub, functions etc...
Currently at a company that is slowly moving over to Azure which is a great process to be apart of. Get to spend a lot of time investigating what is available as it seems each and every time I come to use it, its grown substantially. -
Love this open job position of node.js developer on BMW Group.
Working with cars and open source code its a Saint Graal.
But not this time. -
What makes a good programming language isn't its features, but its build system.
Shit tooling makes for shitty development every time.6 -
First time making a bootable HDD partition and I've either deleted its boot sector or succeeded in making my external HDD bootable.
I wanna restart to test if it works but I'm actually really scared. Rip. -
I think its time i get a new keyboard. Theres this special button that closes any window im on and its right next to the volume up button. I find my self pressing it far to often.😣😣4
-
Aaarrgghhh! That piece of crap build system we use is acting again. Nobody touched it, nobody had time to replace it with something reasonable and now it starts not building as far as I can tell random parts of system. I guess it can sense we wanted to release :-/ So no time for any nice project and back to kicking its shit together :-(2

After 17 years since I got my first PC, I have finally decided its now time that I should have my own laptop. Any suggestions?
PS: I have been an Ubuntu user since 2007.
PS-2: I am from India.9 -
I guess you know its time to go when i your print statement writes:
System.out.println("LAST CHANCE 2:" + output); -
Why the fuck do we have to use an antivirus that is so intrusive that it has so far wasted my time every day, because it thinks that blocking up random ports is okay. Its a fucking lottery every time I turn on the laptop. I wonder if its going to block port 3306 or 4200 tomorrow...5

How on earth are you supposed to deliver a precise estimate of assignments, when your client wants the assignments estimated in parts, but youre not able to split it into parts because its a chain of assignments, that cant be split, like if one Thing succeeds then its possible to move on to next part? So many unknowns because you have to set time aside for unknown code behavior.. Sigh..1

I guess there was some time where The Doctor also worked in it.
Because its so true as well for it. 😂2 -
My biggest ambition tbh is just to be an employed webdev working in England or the Netherlands. Its something that feels both big and small at the same time2

Discovered this really awesome telemetry tool called RRweb today.
Its so cool and creepy at the same time.

Should I switch to arch?
I really like its idea of being a rolling release distro.
Currently on elementary os after trying various other ubuntus and Debian (and using them some time)22 -
Contractmeeting in 1,5 hour. Its either permanent or i'm 'kicked out'. Option two would be the 4th time already. Whatever the outcome, i'll be ok!3

Ranting seems to bend the space-time continuum to its will! -
Had to re boot my pc yesterday.. There are a lot of small customizations you do over time that are really helpfull. Its being frustrating setting up again..5

When I was a child, I always sat next to my father when he was working with his computer. After going to school, I spent most of my time in our computer site and learned how to start programming from its manager.

Was spending good 20 minutes trying to understand why by bind was not working, its time to go home...3

Ubuntu mate looks good. But man its so hard to remove it. A simple apt-get remove didnt do the trick. Spent a long time removing all packages. Still it is there in the login screen. Let it stay there. I am tired.4

Mid hackathon reviews.
It kills the excitement that a judge might have seeing the thing for the first time in the final review.
Instead the final review becomes - "Hey, what did you improve from the last time?"
**Its not a fucking sprint**1 -
Just finished work by writing a huge giant new custom bash script and now its time to take the biggest meanest shit again in the shitter🚽6
-
Hello !
I written a php framework its
Mvc + ef ( endpoint, fragment )
Good for both api and website
Its really lightweight and its quite fast but i think its good for small to medium projects .
Do you think i should keep it going ?
Or its just a waste of time ?2 -
When you wanna update yourself from jquery and learn react but your boss says its more profitable for the company to keep working with wordpress so no time for coding related research. So now i have to do it in the very little free time i have at home 😭1

Does anyone has the fix for GandCrab ransomware 5.0.4, but this time its extension is HRTSVCT, so far I got nothing.1

How fast is vscode in Linux? I'm irritated with time it takes to start my complete dev environment in windows.?
nodejs + mongodb + vscode + chrome + studio3t
So you see I've to start 2 electron based apps and chrome. Node js takes its fare time to start the first script.27 -
I just want to blow off steam here,
Its hard to make a dynamic form with just 2 and a half day of time considering the coding for backend and front end and also mobile responsive. Its very frustrating and the same time im dissapointed in my self but i think its not entirely my fault its hard to do all those task with such little time and a lot of things to consider -
Discourse is a overly complicated software, could have been so much simpler without losing any of its feature. Installation sucks, development sucks and ofcourse their choice of using Rails sucks big time. Hoping Flarum will fix the issue of pathetic forum softwares.

Does anybody actually enjoy working with Liquid template language? (Jekyll)
I barely have to work with Jekyll but every time I have to do something slightly complex with it its a pain, why cant it be just like erb templates? its already been parsed by Ruby isn't it? -
its friday and its been 3 hours already since I time-in in the office and I haven't write any code yet. #fml
-
I started using Gmail labs canned response feature. Access it from gear / settings / lab / canned responses. When composing new email or responding its in little dropdown next to trash can icon. Might save you time.
-
Unpopular opinion. IE6 stuck around for so long because it was the best browser in its time. It's horseshit today but only because that generation liked it so much they couldn't bring themselves to leave it.8
-
Been writing some code on code block sometimes its get really annoying when it don't shows error most of the time error are so silly.
Like not using & while scanf1 -
Today I got screwed over by a CDN which is the first time I have seen it. I was getting a code 520 on the browser's console.
Package link -> https://npmjs.com/package/tippy.js/
After I downloaded its contents and put it directly in a js file, my website speed doubled in performance.
Its making me question using CDNs from this point onwards.1 -
the best time to catch a youtuber is when they barely have any subscribers, content generated after that range is questionable. It's like seeing someone slowly get corrupted.
Its like devrant3 -
Well here i thought i would have done work...and pooof its time to go home
All i did was refactor with and make PR...
*SIGH*
I guess today was one of those days where little work was done -
I love/hate Java. Why is Android dependency management such trash .
At the same time, Android development is easier than its ever been, and since I'm using Java I can transport those skills elsewhere( Objective C cough cough ) -
Why are you like this RVM? Why do you work only 90% of 50% of the time? Sometimes it runs smooth like butter, sometimes it is easier to reinstall my OS than try to fix its issues.
-
My work is deeply unsatisfying. I feel like i haven't been learning anything new since a long time.
Is this normal? What should i do?
Please help, its killing me.4 -
is github becoming a giant piece of shit for anyone else? its like gambling every time i make a push. sometimes it finishes, sometimes it decides to hang and do nothing.1
-
every fucking time when the product owners start talking absolute shit that you have no idea and you would never need to know or listen to.
ITS A WASTE OF MY FUCKING TIME. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND TAKE IT OFFLINE. -
Our Jira does reindexing every night. At that time no issues could be created or resolved.
It just tells us to go to sleep in its own weird way. -
Im deploying a nextjs site via amazon aws amplify. Working with amazon is truly hell. But once it works its truly amazing. Jess bozos have outdone himself. I still dont understand what im doing every time im using aws. Its just trial and error every time for me. (note i still cant deploy the site to my domain there is some build error. Hours of fucking with this and still cant resolve it). However i somehow managed to assign an Amazon SSL Certificate to my domain9

How to make productive use of computer freeze times?
Is there any way to utilize the time where a computer violates the purpose of its existence by not getting work done?8 -
i dont need any one to tell me devrant was built with RN, i think its high time they start rebuilding it with flutter for better preformance 🤣😂😂2
-
Release was supposed to start at 10 am, its now 11am but our release document is being debated heavily. The outage is scheduled to last until 2 and we thought we'd be tight for time when starting at 10 FML to right now..
-
I posted a blog but it is edited even before it is published. Did I literally time travel to edit my blog a day before its publication or is it a bug.3
-
In the first place I dont do it that often in private projects because the estimation is always wrong.
At work i just think about best and worst case scenario and the average time it could take. If the the worst case scenario is really time intensive and there are a lot of factors that could go wrong in contrast to the best case, I significantly increase the estimated time for the task. Otherwise its 1/6 best case; 1/6 worst case; 4/6 average time2 -
About a month in and I've found that Github copilot code suggestions are like magic half the time. The other half is useless garbage.
However, writing comments has been a dream. 99% of the time it gives the correct description. If anything its worth using for just that.1 -
No matter how hard I try within a certain time window only certain options are available and unless I practically kill myself
Its difficult to push hard and far enough to get blessedly out of sync with the slave machine -
Oracle Identity Manger. It just feels soooo unfinished and its just so damn tedious to work with! My god. Should've created the whole thing ourselves instead. The time we've used to fix shit.. #meh

Anybody here implemented Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) algorithm? I need to implement it for a school project. Its basically an android application and want to authenticate users using this algorithm.
Will appreciate any help possible.2 -
Time complexity doubt
How can you say T(n) ≤ 3T(floor(n/4)) + cn²
Given that T(n) =3T(floor(n/4)) +Θ(n²)
Won't it imply Θ(n²) ≤ cn², which seems incorrect (or am i wrong to think its incorrect?)4 -
Just wondering any of you has seen automated tests in a CI machine? Theyre not reliable enough to be running all the time because many times its just an empty error amd its tedious to investigate and wastes lots of time2
-
I will never work on a project that allows time travel.
Sooner or later humanity will screw it up so bad that the only solution is to lethaly stop it from being invented.
Thats why its not invented yet!2 -
Catching up from shows from this programmed time period, anyone see Domina ? Its a big jockish but at least it isn't a spartacus sands and whatever-the-hell dumb crap that was.

Does anybody know of a Java library that you can use to parse cron expressions? I mainly want to give it a cron expressions and have it calculate its next execution time.6

Mobile apps. They're little programs that have to run in constricted environments. I find it challenging to write something that needs to perform well, and at the same time be as efficient as possible with its very limited resources.

For a small project for one on the customers i have to install android studio. I had time go get a snack at the supermarket and to clean my workspace and its still installing.2

Ever been hit so bad by a bug that you check the time hoping to knock off in the next 10 minutes, only to realize its 7:30 AM. I have been at work for 30 min! *SLAMS KEYBOARD*
