The aCalendar app let's you choose vibration pattern, it's one of the better settings I've seen.

Under settings, we made a checkbox labeled “Run Program Faster”. The state was saved but it didn’t do anything.

We turned it “on” when people said things were slow. Usually they were happy and no one complained the “run faster” option wasn’t working.

Had a fun adventure this morning. Had to deliver some bags to some houses. Entered the addresses in Google Maps. Off we go. First house, no problem. Second house, and Google is taking me on a weird route, through some parking lots and stuff. Finally, it wants me to turn onto a bike trail. WTF? My Google maps is set for bike routes. Went a lot faster when I set it to car. No wonder there were so many bikes and the road seemed so narrow.

I was 4 I think. Managed to reconfigure the IP and DNS settings and got the internet working again (it was a dial-up, in 2002). My entire family thought I was a prodigy of sorts (I am not).

Now all I do is restart the wifi if it's not working.

How can a big company as Facebook, allow that many functions of its website are just untested?

I make you an example, access the mobile version of Facebook from browser, go to a group and change the notifies settings, then refresh the page. The settings returns as before! If I did something like this I'd get fired in less than 0.1 seconds

So due to some necessary repairs on my Nokia 6.1 i had to use an iPhone for the last 2 weeks (was the device they gave me for the duration of the repair). And let me say something in advance: I own a Macbook Pro, i own an iPad Pro, both devices are excellent for what i use them for. I enjoy OS X, i enjoy iOS on the tablet. But oh boy is the iPhone a shitshow of a magnitude i have never seen.

First off: The notifications. They feel like Android 4 or something. No customization, no grouping, not context. Also the swipe down gesture simply blocks whatever i am doing.

Multitasking: What a shitshow. There is no continuity, apps reload on a whim, no switching between apps (except that strange thing where the app shows up on the left upper screen, but i can't go back from there?)

Settings: WHY ARE APPS SETTINGS IN THE GLOBAL SETTINGS!! And not even all settings are. They are all over the place. And the settings are so convoluted and bloated, i can't find half of the things i am looking for.

Clock & Alarm: Goddamn that design choice with the edit button infuriates me to no end. Why can't i click an alarm and simply edit it? Also: Why do i have to enter the clock app to even see which alarm is going off next?

The Appdrawer: WHY CAN'T I SORT MY APPS BY NAME?? I have to conciously remember where i put things. Apps i use rarely, apps i use often.

Point: Intellij has an option to set a background to the whole ide which gives coding a unique experience instead of the pale dull solid color background.

Go to Settings > Appearance > Background image is in the main appearance tab click and set the image, position, transparency ... And voila u have a background image on your editor.

Alternative way just go to settings and search for background image

Open my Windows 10 laptop and the night light is still on from last night. It's 10am.

Go to night light settings and they're disabled.

Move on and keep working.

After an hour, had enough so google the problem. Looks like it's reasonably common and and there's a registry fix to enable the settings again.

Apply settings. Go to settings and they're all enabled!

However, they don't do anything anymore. Night light is still on.

TL;DR:
Problem Night light settings widgets are disabled.
Solution: Enable night light widgets, but don't make them change night light

macs... I know I didn't like them before, but recently I wanted set up a vpn on another person's pc and first it didn't want to install because it was a third party program. understandable, change security settings, try again, works. and now... EVERY TIME the user wants to connect it asks for a password, because the vpn client is "changing system settings". whenever the pc is locked, it disconnects and asks for a password whenever you log in again.

The saying that macbooks "just work" has to be extended to "the most basic functionality kind of works, most of the time".

And yes, I realize that this might be the reason why I can't hear anything in my 3.5mm earphones.

But, why, dear Cinnamon, WHY do you have to keep me from any kind of system settings GUI? I can no longer launch the System Settings, Network settings, sound settings, etc -- no Settings at all.
And why did you have to freeze the whole Cinnamon the first time the problem appeared? The X didn't mind it, ffs! I could move the mouse around... but that's pretty much it. Apart from switching to TTYs and moving the mouse I couldn't do anything else in the UI.

That's pretty annoying. It's not like I can remove my audio controller... (I don't think breaking off the corner of my MB where the audio region is counts as 'remove the audio controller').

yesterday, I just swapped my sim card for some time with another. Placed it back....and voila! I can't enable data connection. I lost all my apn settings. To add to this, neither is it auto fetching the apns, nor i can manually change it! It shows some fucking error "apn settings not available for this user". I have another phone with same android version (lollipop) and everything works smoothly on it. These guys just broke everything after giving an upgrade from kitkat. For the last several months, my settings and stored database credentials are wiped out at random. Meaning code styles, indention settings, keymaps, database settings, plugins, local change history, cache, all of it are reset to factory default at random, costing me hours trying to restore it all.

I've updated and it is still happening.

Two identical websites. Both have identical files, settings, and contents. Both have identical style.css files.

One has H1-H6 headings that display in the "Rye" font as I've specified. The other's "Rye" font is completely AWOL. I'm just getting the site default.
