Search - "women"
Stop f*cking calling me minority or part of a underrepresented group. Yeah I noticed I am one of the only women on a conference. I DONT CARE, I AM A PROGRAMMER NOT A SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE. Hire me for my work, not because you want you company to be more diverse.51
Just saw a recruitment post for a female speaker to join a female panel at a "women in tech" event. And it's by an organisation called "codelikeagirl". 😒
As a female developer, it gives me the upmost cringe to hear about any #women or #girlpower events. Do you really need to validate your ability and support because of your gender? Men don't go to #menInTech events, so why do you need to go #womenInTech events?
On the surface it seems all friendly and gender equality fluff. But if you segregate yourselves into an all exclusive group, isn't that the opposite of what your trying to "achieve"?292
Guy: "We just can't finish this in 1 month!"
Boss: "Yeah you can, I'll hire more people."
Guy: "... You know, a woman can deliver a baby in 9 months but 9 women can't deliver a baby in 1 month."21
My classmate is a real SAVAGE!!
He (team leader) and his team participated in hackathons several times and kept losing.
He noticed something common about winning team, majority of those team members were women, even if they were non technical and their project was pure bs, they were winning in the name of women empowerment.
This time he came out with a plan, he fired his boys and invited women into his team, and even made one girl the team leader.
Result? HE WON!!!
NOT ONE BUT THREE HACKATHONS BACK TO BACK
His so called women team was invited by Google to pitch their startup idea.
Now, if they gets funding, he's gonna kick out these women and bring back his teammates32
*happily tapping along on my projects while commuting*
Some random kid appears, overly interested in what I'm writing, so I let him look.
Then he goes *snort* do you know why Java threw c out?
*giggles* because c told Java to stop treating women like and objects.
Well, treating them like primitives is no good either.
*kid walks away*
Then I hear: mom. That man ruined my joke, he said treating women like primitives is no good.6
Can I get a ++ from all the lady developers on this app or from anyone who supports women in STEM? Signed, a fellow female engineer36
Worst 'advice' from a college recruiter:
"O you want to major in computer science? Well our school is fantastic for women in comp sci because WHEN they find it too difficult they can easily transition to graphic design. How do you feel about graphic design?"
I decided that school was a bad choice.
Graduating this year with my BS in Comp Sci and going for my Masters in Robotics. Screw that guy.18
Who Is Who
➡ A Project Manager is the one who thinks 9 women🙍 can deliver a baby in 1 month.👶
➡ An Onsite Coordinator is the one who thinks 1 woman can deliver 9 babies in 1 month.👶
➡ A Developer is the one who thinks it will take 18 months to deliver 1 baby.🙇
➡ A Marketing Manager is the one who thinks he can deliver a baby even if no man and women are available.👷
➡ A Client is the one who doesn’t know why he wants a baby.👶
➡ A Tester is the one who always tells his wife that this is not the right baby. 🚶
Don't be shy.. Comment which 'who' are you..😂17
Attended my first 24h+ hackathon at @cyanide's college.
Our team got a special mention for being the best all women team.
There was just one all women team.
We have new scrum master. First meeting together.
- I would give them time to wensday (2 days away) days to do migration
- delivery is in Tuesday. can we have two teams to work on it so it will be done twice as fast?
- do you really think that if you get 9 women pregnant they would deliver you baby in a month?7
Project manager logic, explained with babies.
9 women can have 9 babies in 9 month. We only need one baby.
Deadline is one month!10
My wife asked me to clean, cook and watch the child.
When she returned home she started screaming hysterically and cry.
Who understands women...9
Social let's-help-female-programmers warriors piss me off.
The other day a massive email thread at work on how women are misrepresented in tech and how we need to help them and how using words such as "guys" is intimidating and generally patronising shit like "let's advertise jobs on websites like femaleprogrammers.com instead stackoverflow because there's too many white males on stackoverflow."
99% participants in this topic were guys.
One girl sent a message saying she doesn't want to be helped and she wants to know she has been picked for her skill and not filling in diversity numbers.
...would you believe she has been schooled on problems women in tech face by those lads too.
Like "woman, please... we speak diversity here"
Shout-out the women who share their work without plastering it in hashtags relating to #womenwhocode
You the real ones.21
If you hire nine women to make a baby, you won't get a baby in one month.
But if you hire one woman a month and impregnate her immediately, it will still take you nine months to get the first baby, but after that you'll get one baby per month for the rest of the year.
That's the difference between latency and throughput (and that's also how pineapple farms work, since it can take up to a year to grow pineapples).11
You what's been pissing me off this week. The press and social media coverage of this Google guy's gender memo.
Almost every outlet has him saying:
"Women are inferior coders because of their biology"
He ABSOLUTELY does not say this anywhere. He only states that basically less women are attracted to the industry. He doesn't comment at all on the quality of the Women who do go into tech.
It astonishes me the utter ignorance of the media and how they can just print these ignorant errors / lies.
I would wager that most if not all of them never even read his memo.
I am really fucked off by this social media keyboard warrior driven world we live in.
Apparently we value freedom of speech and freedom of expression above all else... UNLESS you say something that pisses off the social media justice warriors. In that case you will be publicly crucified and your life / career will be destroyed.
The annoying thing is in this particular case he didn't even say what they are saying he did.43
HR made a day long inclusiveness meeting. About why there are so few women in the department. Basically the conclusion the HR rep was looking for was “toxic masculinity” and it was super uncomfortable.
The engineering teams couldn’t actually participate much because most of them worked on teams without any women and have absolutely nothing to do with hiring. The male engineers were trying to play along and give the right answers. We had to do flip charts and beak into teams and etc.
The HR kept singling out the same three women in engineering and telling the men to “shut up and listen to them”. The female engineers were like, “i don’t know. I don’t have much to say about it.” The HR rep continued to drill those three women to the point that it was uncomfortable.
The engineering hiring manager lost it before noon. He went to his desk and grabbed a stack of resumes. “You gave me a stack of 60 resumes. Looking at names only four applicants are female. Those applicants don’t have education or experience for engineering. If you want more female engineers in the office you have to put qualified applicants into the stack. Forcing these three engineers to talk in front of our department over and over and saying the men have to shut up is not making the workplace less toxic.” Then he told the three engineers, “This meeting is now optional for you three and you are welcome to do anything you want with your time.”
After lunch, all the female engineers went back to their desk and worked. The HR continued to shame the men in an angrier tone for the rest of the day telling everyone “how men can be” from personal experience because they were the ones now representing all women.
Eight bloody hours of that.131
Skipping all the "Women in IT" sessions my company tries to enforce, along with ditching such questions like "What attrocities did I experience related to my gender, during my first month of working here?"
Well, fuck, we are few, all right. But can I just be a dev instead of a girl dev, please?
I discussed this whole feminism trend with many of the women colleagues, but not one of them could mention a case where they were distinguished by their gender. Ever.5
Java: Ok, any ideas on how to make women more interested in us ?
C++: Make more exceptions ?
Python: Redefine our methods ?
C: Stop treating them like objects ?
*Java furious at C*
*Java throws C out of the building*11
Woman: IF you could make all the people in this forum brawl, I would go with you tonight.
Man: (Type) PHP is the best language all over the world!
The whole forum goes into brawl...
Women: You got me. I shall go with you. Do whatever you want. Let's go.
Man: Hold! Not today! I must convince them all!7
My dev superpower would be the power to magically refill anything.
Out of hot coffee? Refill your thermos!
Bank account running low? Refill with money!
Battery empty? Refill with charge!
Going bald like me? Refill your head with hair!
Bed empty? Refill with beautiful women!
Clients / managers annoying you? Refill their bladders!
The possibilites are limitless!6
On being a woman in tech...
You lads probably have (and my fellow ladies certainly have) heard of "impostor syndrome" and, if you don't experience it, you possibly wonder what living with it is like.
Here's an example from this weekend.
Be me, about 5 years into my career, graduated from a top college, feeling decent but still unsure of skill.
Company gets a 4 week trial of an online learning website. It includes optional assessments, so that you know where in the video lessons to start. Rankings are novice, proficient, expert.
Hear from our QA that he got ranked "proficient." Which is a pretty broad category, but I become super afraid that I'll also be assessed as "proficient" and it will look like I have the same dev skills as a fucking QA (our management overlords can see our scores).
Boyfriend has me do some deep breathing before starting the test, because it's obvious how stressed I am.
Finally take it and get ranked "expert", in the 97th percentile, even though some technical difficulties made me miss four questions in a row. I decide to use my do over, and get ranked "expert" again, this time in the 99th percentile.
You'd think I'd be like, "Lawl, I can't believe I'd get the same score as our QA!" And there is some of that. But there's also the thoughts of, "that test could have been more thorough," "that score wasn't real because I resaw a question and got the right answer the second time," and "99th percentile isn't that great on a platform where new developers are over represented."
And this is all despite the fact that, if you were to ask someone how confident I am, the answer would probably "confident as hell."
Not saying this to start any fights. Figured it could be some interesting insight into a world that some people don't experience! (not that males aren't allowed to have impostor syndrome!)16
Programs are like women,
No matter how much you get mad because of errors,
You're always the one who's wrong ..10
I hate it when people say they want to "GET a new girlfriend"...
Shouldn't it be "FIND a new girlfriend"?
I mean you can't just go into the supermarket and get some butter, milk and a new girlfriend. You can't buy them. By saying that, you seem to me as if you're treating women as objects. I know it's technically possible to buy a girlfriend, but that's prostitution.
I think that "GET a new girlfriend" just doesn't sound right...
A lot of people think that the Johnny Depp vs the Sun is just gossip column garbage, but it exposes a harsh truth - a man's life can be ruined just because a woman accused him with 0 evidence, and while she proves to be an unreliable witness on multiple accounts.
Everything that was done to promote equality is being destroyed by cases like that, and I am fairly certain that many male employers will prefer not to employ women, because it's not worth the risk. And for the first time in my life, I can't even blame them.
Working in this industry is hard enough as it is for women, but this sort of shit makes it impossible. Thanks MeToo, for completely losing your mind, and screwing up women and men at the same time!65
I did it! I told her. I admitted that I have a crush on her. It was awesome, we were in her room, chilling and having Belgian beer and looking over at the beautiful dome of Les Invalids and the lights of Paris through her window. It was raining a little bit. All perfect.
I told her how I really enjoyed her company and how I found her really cool and interesting and how I had a not so small crush on her. She was very surprised but she was glad I told her. I'm really proud that I did something so big.
Oh, she said no btw.40

ok people where is the gender equality??? why do people assume that im studying tourism when its so clear that i am not
cant a girl be a programmer and not the girly ground stewardess checking-in the baggages at the airport?
programming isnt only for men. women can also be great developers because we can be as capable as men. people need to stop the stereotypes jeez33
The worst thing about the gender gap in tech is that I can't find someone to borrow a hair tie from.13
So, more people = more effective?
Let's see how you can deliver a baby with 9 women with only 1 month
P. S:Good luck with that!!6
This whole Linux vs Windows thing is just getting tiring. It's like sleeping with men vs women. You can choose men, you can choose women, or you can choose both. It's a choice you should be making, not someone else.11
Dad thinks i sleep all day and always tells me to get a job.
Mom doesn't know nothing about what i do
Wife thinks I'm talking to other women and have a fucking magic money tree when bills need to be paid.
Wife's grandparents think I'm a lazy piece of shit but ask me to fix their fucking tvs.
Mother-in-law: knows i make money working on the computer but not how.14
i hate this "She-EO" crap. they can call that feminism all they want, but all it does is set back women 40 years. yes, your red blazer is gonna break the glass ceiling honey 🙄14
I live next to a nightclub and went outside for a fag.
It’s wet, 2:30am and kinda cold.
A girl and her boyfriend come out of the club..
Her feet hurt because of her high heels so she takes them off, walking on the wet, cold road barefoot now.
Her boyfriend sees it and tells her to put them back on.
He takes off his shoes and gives them to her (good boyfriend...) she puts them on, almost falling over cause she’s hammered as fuck, takes them off again and says they don’t fit and look stupid on her..
WTF, I understand taking the shoes off When she’s drunk but I don’t understand how the fuck she could care if it looks good at half 2 in the morning in an empty town..
I’ve seen it all now..
Does anyone remember MUDs? Multi-User Dungeons — working on those in LPC was my first experience with real programming. Before that, I'd only made simple websites.
To get permission to program in one MUD, you had to prove that you knew the world, by reaching a certain level in the game. Death had consequences, with a level being lost, as well as risking loss of your items if someone looted you or your corpse was lost. This alone was hard enough to make most players give up. I played (and played wisely) to get there, being the first of my friends. It was hard work and fun.
After months of playing every day, finally, I was a wizard! Well, first, I had to convince someone else to take me as an apprentice, which was it's own challenge, because I was a 13 y/o girl. I ended up having to wait for an older male friend to get to the proper rank and get made a full wizard himself, because anyone else was reluctant (thinking that I'd just screw up or make them look bad), and no one was very happy about it. After some more weeks, I started programming my own content for the MUD, to share with others. It was a great opportunity to learn and express myself, seeing how creative programming could be.
I got called all kinds of names for asking questions and making mistakes, and I questioned why I even wanted to work with these people who hated my guts and didn't want to teach me anything, but I kept going. As I wasn't allowed to take computer classes in school, being able to do projects on my own like this was the only way to learn. I also became more stubborn, patient, and independent, which has always been necessary for this career.
Most importantly, I saw what could be done with programming, and was inspired to keep going with my own projects, no matter how much hate that I got for it. I went on to work on more games and software, often on my own. I always explore new technology, ignore the haters, and forge ahead with my own vision.4
lol what? My company offers $5k for referring full time employees... and $10k for referring female technologists.
As a female software engineer, makes me deeply uncomfortable.18
I'm in a few women in tech groups. A woman, who is a highly experienced developer, shared that she had a conversation with her male friend, who is a startup founder. He said that his criteria for recruitment are high levels of math and physics since high school and early interest in programming (e.g. age of 10). She said his criteria made her sad and excluded.
A fellow woman developer commented that it's reasonable to feel sad when you learn your good friend is an idiot. I snorted some Monster out of my nose reading this and I'm still coughing and chuckling.
To be honest, the founder's requirements do sound super ridiculous, and I imagine his startup is made up of clones of the same guy type, wearing different shades of gray t shirts and sandals with socks.58
Diversity Support Tickets EVERY-FUCKING-WHERE
Because if you happen to be born a woman or you like men (or women or both or none - its up to you) you'll get that €399 ticket for free. Seriously? From when white straight man can afford to pay for the conference but a different skin, gender or sexual orientation cannot?
No hate - you do you, but from my perspective as a woman, I feel this is kind of unfair to all my male fellas out there.5
The frequency in which I see women-hating comments in certain tech FB groups is alarmingly high lately. Even posts about ordering food are somehow twisted into really awful discussions (raping women, locking them at home, stoning cheating wives...).
Maybe I'm just a sensitive "female", but I honestly wouldn't want to work with a person who has this mindset.59
It's so annoying! One of the developers just started explaining to me some of the recent changes in the infrastructure. I made these changes! I know about them and can explain them better than he did. I tried telling him that I already know but he just wouldn't stop. It felt like he was mansplaining. I don't usually get that at work so it was weird and frustrating.11
I want to print this pic out in enormous size and qty, hang them in many classrooms to show my female friends that it's normal to wear cute skirt and cute shoes while wringing cables on your shoulders.
We had a guest lecture about computer science and gender equality, and it was exciting to see my male classmates so supportive of drawing more women into our field...They are so tired of taking biology courses just so they can look at pretty girls 😂11
Shopping for computers is so fun and relaxing than shopping for makeup.
So here's the scenario...
I walked into a makeup store and I was looking for lipstick. I was wearing my devRant shirt, jeans, and a laptop backpack. A sales lady approached me and just stared. She didn't even ask what I was looking for. The way she looked at me made me feel that I don't belong there. She should've just left me alone than giving a judgemental look. I got intimidated so I looked at her and gave the biggest smile, then fleed. I panicked. I salute those female developers who doesn't have problems shopping for girly stuff!
For the record, my sister encouraged me to wear a little makeup so that I don't look stressed. That made me decide to go to that makeup store. I'd rather order online now.
It's so hard to not be girly by nature.17
//socially acceptable objectification
public class Woman : Person
//I'll see myself out.15
Apparently this logo is offensive to women! The company had to change the logo.
Can't unsee now 😂28
I start my first real dev position tomorrow 6 months out of college where I graduated without a CS degree because my school didn't have a major only a minor.
Cue the imposter syndrome.3
(applying to a developer position)
interviewer : So, do you like to code?
me : of course!
interviewer : Are you sure? because this is a developer position and women prefer something more administrative than coding.
me : Wow! nobody told me that before. If I had known I wouldn't have studied this.
didn't expect to be called back after that...7
LinkedIn for developers is the exact opposite of Tinder for developers:
Tons of young, attractive women send you messages you ignore.6
I'm tired of women who tell they don't like to work with women! You're not going to become a better dev by imitating a sexist grandpa. Men won't like you more: event if they didn't like women either, you're still a female... And other women will just try to avoid working with you. Why would I bother to work with someone who judges me before we even start?! 🙄5
When walking, Women swing their arms at level height as your balls, watch out.
I've learnt the hard way (no pun)6
So I've been applying to jobs. I, purposely, have been putting down that I am female (since they all harp on diversity, I'd like to see if they even bother reaching out to me. Also anything to get my resume past the bots).
Spoiler alert - getting similar ratios to male counterparts, 100+ applications sent, maybe 4 phone interviews. No offers yet. Still made to do code challenges.
Well, I just found out where all that diversity hiring went to. Buddy of mine who works at a mid tier company said that they have a special program that onboards women into tech.
Specifically, women who have literally zero background in computers.
Teachers, social workers, etc. They get a week or so of some coding bootcamp and then get full time positions over more skilled applicants.
This infuriates me. I literally would be in a better situation to be hired had I not have had any technical background, taken this particular bootcamp and finally net the elusive entry level position I need.
And guess what? That move has antagonized the existing male employees who see that they have zero interest and zero competency instead of having an integrated workplace.
10/10 for incredible bullshit.9
just got an email that they have a good opportunity for a -female- graduate of computer science where they don't require any programming or other skills. wtf
Do they want females just to up their fem statistics?
safe to say I did not reply, i am not unskilled and I don't want a job like that!11
Teacher: what is 1 + 1?
kid : I don't know
Teacher: Ok! you have one man and one women, how many are there?
Kid: There was my mom and dad, when they add up we become three.
Why computers are like men:
1. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on.
2. They have a lot of data, but are still clueless.
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they are the problem.
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have had a better model.
Why computers are like women:
1. No one but the Creator understands their internal logic.
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.
3. Even your smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory for later retrieval.
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.1
Im gunna get a lot of flak for this but just hear me out:
People keep asking me what it's like working in a male dominated industry. They have conferences for women in tech empowerment and I get forced to go to them because I'm the only female in the office.
The thing is. I don't feel oppressed. I get that we "need" more women in tech but from my experience and from talking to various women at my old university, the reason women are avoiding the tech industry isn't because it's male dominated and they feel out of place. It's because a) it doesn't interest them or b) they never thought of it as an option (like myself).
Computer programming should be in grade schools and highschool's just like math and science to help educated not only women but people in general that it's an option. That's what's going to help more women get in the tech industry. Not these bullshit conferences and women's rights in tech movements, and hiring women over men (even if she's worse than him in skill level) just because she's a woman.
Frankly I think it's downright shameful that companies that are male dominated feel the need to hire women over men just because of gender. If I'm applying somewhere and there's a better male candidate, hire him! I'd much rather your company have a good team then a "balanced" team. Great tech teams are what will bring along new and better technologies, not balanced ones.
Keep in mind I'm talking about Western Civilization here, I get that a lot of countries are still struggling with the balance of women's rights at all but this is Canada.
I also get that there are probably some women who want to join tech but won't because it's too male dominated but frankly that's a shit poor excuse. If you really wanted to join tech then being surrounded by make co-workers wouldn't deter you from living your life the way you want to. If you feel so uncomfortable around men that you won't go into an industry you love because it's male dominated then I'm sorry for you and you should probably see a councillor to get that worked out.
I feel more oppressed by having to put aside my programming and being forced to go to these conferences than I do in the every day workplace. My boss is literally more offended that I don't feel offended about being a woman "minority". He spent a week pestering me about how I would feel about this, that and the other thing if it happened to me.
I'm not saying nobody ever says anything even remotely sexist to me but frankly I could give two shits- I'm here. I'm coding. I'm good at what I do and I'm comfortable enough with myself that I can just blow off the comment (which probably wasn't even meant to offend me) and continue working. But you're going to get that wherever you go, this isn't a flaw of the tech industry. This is a flaw of the world and it goes both ways (men get flak too).26
!dev but definitely rant
Here's a fucking thought:
How is holding women over different standards at events and (non-physical) competitions (hackathons especially, somehow) NOT widely considered sexist? I don't even mean towards men - yes, of course.
But also towards women: By preferring their results in some competitions in order to "support them", you implicitly degrade them to be small children in need for praise. You imply that you expect them to perform worse. By "women-first" PR bullshit, you do what you claim to be against. Fuck you.
Why can't we just hold everyone to the same fucking standards? Women can be just as good in tech as men, when interested. I would even make a point that these different standards hold back women from trying to get into any tech-related career.18
You know you've been developing for a long time when you don't just write code but also wear it haha5
We just offered two other women jobs at where I work....
Half the department is going to be female!!
.... Shoot how do you talk to girls again it's been so long7
Hmm... So apparently originally programmers and tech innovators were mostly women... Sorta strange how now it's flipped...12
Passed my Python programming course with an A!!!! Yes!!!!!!
P.s I want a squishy ball so can 150 of you please like my rant Lmaoo6
Men who can’t wash dishes and clean their goddamn rooms because tHatS a WomAn’S jOb are simply not self-sufficient human beings.
Women who can’t find a job and make goddamn money to afford their lifestyle because tHatS a Man’S jOb are just the same.9
Girlfriend: How much water did you drink today?
Me: About 3 litres.
Girlfriend: How much of that is coffee?
Me: 5 cups.
Girlfriend: How can you count coffee in that?
Me: Why not?
Girlfriend: It's diuretic.
Me: Yes, but it's still water that goes through my body.
Girlfriend: You're such a smart-ass, huh?
Me: Well, yes, I am.
Girlfriend: So why are you so tired if you think you're drinking enough water? Well?
Me: Never ask a question you don't want to know the answer to.
Girlfriend slammed the door.
So no, women don't want honest men. Guys, lie, lie, lie.
And now I can look at the error message.14
The number of people who responded to this with bile such as “yeah but how well” or “i bet she can only write hello world”.
Its sad that this attitude still exists in our industry. If you havent seen the story she responded by clarifying that she is on the iOS tutorial team for Raywenderlich, and has a bachelors degree with a double major in Computer Science. But she shouldnt have to explain that just because shes a woman. Are people that insecure about their knowledge that they need to resort to demeaning other peoples? for shame.15
Conversing with developers can be frustrating.
Here is a good one from today. 2 people 1 women (let’s call her W) and one man (let’s call him M)
W: “Hey guys! Our team is looking for lots of great developers. Front end, back end, data, dev ops. At above market salaries with a great team! Reach out to me is you want to chat. I would love to hear from you.”
Translation: I have a great offer and want to help others achieve and strive in their careers.
M: “also, guys/less-gendered-alternative plz” proceeds to chastise this women about using the word guys.
Translation: I have no level of social awareness, but I have a need to feel big and important. So I’ll take offence for those who aren’t offended to make me feel better about my lack of fucking personality.
I’m not really concerned about opinions about the gender issue. It isn’t about that.
It’s just tiring dealing with these people’s bullshit.
It’s time to grow up folks, stop arguing on the fucking internet.
I also once saw a developer chastise 2 women we worked with while we were out for drinks for the exact same thing; using the word guys.
He was so busy “defending” them from themselves that he ended up making them uncomfortable and then they left.
He was saying “don’t exclude women” while fucking excluding the only women there.
What a fucking douche.4
Anyone else flipping tired of hearing: we need more this, more that, more blacks, more women, more whatever, in tech?
We don’t fucking need more anyone in anything.
We just need sane, talented and hard working people to get the job done well. And do that with courtesy to all person.11
"why do you like computers more than women" was a question my dad asked me today. that was a fucking curveball lemme tell ya
turns out my dad thinks i'm sexually attracted to computers as i don't flirt with women nor do I date.
I don't have a car, I don't have money, I like an hour from town, I have no charisma and I look like an unevenly-melted candle someone dropped into a bag of shaved 5 o'clock stubble. Of course I don't talk to people IRL.5
This is fucking horrible and if this happens at many companies I understand why women leave techjobs.12
A project manager is someone who believes that if he/she joins 9 pregnant women they'll have a child in 1 month1
Hey there! -first rant-
I need your advice mighty ranters.. I'm an introverted gal studying Computer Science at uni, and i love this field. Wanna be a web or app developer..
I need your help about 2 things:
1. Literally ANY advice, or things you wish you knew, when you were a rookie
2. I'm currently living in solitude, because of hard times in the past and i find making friends much more difficult at uni than in high school. It even starts to affect my productivity in a bad way. I have a hard time trusting people.
So any advice about this? How do you cope with too much solitude? Is there maybe a group for girl programmers? I don't know..
All advice are welcomed! (and IT jokes too, to make my day :D )
Thanks a lot !
Ps.: You are great! Awesome community.20
If you're going to host a Women in Tech Breakfast, there needs to be more than one samovar of coffee (even if it's being constantly refilled). Clearly the hosts have no experience in distributed computing.
Oxford Dicktionary: A Project Manager is simply a person who thinks nine women can deliver a baby in One month.
Came home, opened Instagram and I feel this urge to make a rant about these fcking instagram thots that "code".
I'm not against women that code or anything (in fact, if they got the skill, then I think that is awesome), but I am against those special fcking snowflakes that try to get special attention just because they are a female person that is writing HTML and CSS >.>21
How often do women bring up their own gender in tech interviews? I've never done it, and I've never interviewed anyone, but I'm curious about whether it's ever explicitly mentioned (beyond a, "I'm in a women in tech group" or "I mentor young girls in my free time").
I don't want to start any debates. Just curious about what people on the Other Side of the Table see.20
My current company. It's locker room talk 24/7
I am a man. I don't mind sex, but my colleagues, and my boss, are talking like Trump was talking to Billy Bush in that bus. I am contemplating complaining to HR, who happens to join them in mentally undressing women and other lewd conversations, or handing in my resignation15
Why is it that women find C to be more attractive than Java?
Because C doesn’t treat them like objects.
So I work for a company that has a recommendation system. If the person you recommend gets hired and works for more than 3 months you get a bonus.
$500 if you recommend a man
$700 if you recommend a woman
Isn’t this discrimination?
I know they are trying to incentivize women to get into tech but this is just ilegal and quite frankly not the best way to get results.38
devRant broke my relationship.
I am being commanded to put "I love my girlfriend" in my bio to scare away all the 'women' that are apparently on here9
I feel like I need to clarify the concept of toxic masculinity and toxic femininity.
The masculinity itself is not toxic! Being a masculine man is not being toxic. Being a man is not being toxic.
Toxic masculinity, in a nutshell, is:
- Teaching boys to never express their feelings. Men don't cry. You should always maintain the “tough” image. If you open up about how you feel, you're a pussy. Domestic abuse of men doesn't exist. A man can't be raped by a woman.
- You should only depend on yourself. Even if you're in trouble (say, with depression or bullying), and you ask for help, you're a pussy.
- Boys will be boys. Aggression is typical for men, and expressing it beating other men is a manly behaviour.
There is also toxic femininity:
- Men should work and provide for the women. Women shouldn't work, they should instead be housekeeping and raising kids.
- Women should be pretty and work on their looks (to attract men).
- If you don't have kids by the age of 30, there is something wrong with you.
It almost seems like traditional grotesque gender roles diminish the personality for the sake of social conformity. The pattern is always “men should”, “women should”. They tell you what to do, authoritatively so, based on your biological sex. They try to “put you in your place” where you “belong” just because of your genitals. This is toxic.
It is important to retain personality. The ultimate goal is to get rid of those stereotypes and finally throw them in the garbage bin where they belong. Because of them, we have anorexia in women (the most deadly mental disorder), and also male suicides through the roof.
Before you label me “feminist”, bear in mind that the third wave is all over the place, to the point they can't agree on what feminism is.20

Some IT person is walking to the marketing department coffee machine because one on IT is broken.
While waiting for his coffee he yells:
I want a enormous rack!
All the women instantly hide, and one guy say. “You cannot say that here!”
IT guy looks surprised and wondering what he said wrong....
"I want to be irresistible to women" wished the man to the genie.
The genie snaps his fingers and the man turns into a box of chocolates.
And that, my friend, explains the difference between a programmer's intention and what he writes in his program.1
Company: Hi mordax, your profile shows you have an impressive background -
Company: So I'd like to extend an invitation-
Me: Oh!!! (Interview!!)
Company: - to a Women in Tech(™) event hosted by the company.
The only events around me seem to be strictly for women and "diverse" people... Whatever the fuck that means. I guess fuck who I am as a person, right?20
something kinda depressing about devrant is that, because of sexist bs, women have prime rant material, but this app is also full of sexist bs, so it ends up being kinda hostile towards a significant portion of the users258
*Gives the list of top three candidates (All women) to hire to HR Manager (A Lady)*
HRM: Ha, I always knew it, women are always better than men. Alas, you are realising now.
*At that moment, it felt as if all my hard work to judge all the candidates abilities without any prejudice whatsoever, just got collected by the garbage collector*
Why does it have to be Men Vs Women, why does there have to be any comparison at all, except the question that how does this individual compare to the rest.
I really don't care whether one is old, young, male or female or whatever other factor that can be used to separate humans into groups. Why can't it simply be: Does this individual produce the end result required? Period.6
Random guy: Hey you're from Mexico ! Let's party and drink Tequila, let's go for Mamacitas !!!
Me: no, I have to work!
Random guy: come on you Mexicans don't work, and always wears a Zarape !
Me: Come on man ! It's fucking 21th century !!! You can't think that way ! I don't fucking wear a Zarape, I don't like Tequila and for the love of God is so wrong to call women "Mamacitas"2
When i sit down and code, its like a conversation with women.
Im not sure whats going on, but it appears to be working.6
So I have been a fly on the "wall" for last couple of months and never signed up, but now here I am!
Rant is about a serious topic - gender gap in tech industry!!
Couple of months ago Stackoverflow announced developer survey results! I was shocked by demographics results! It was disappointing to see biggest gender gap in general tech industry!
I believe tech industry can be the first one to have equal pay for women!
However.... (bad part)
I was going through my twitter feeds and saw this! Many of you have seen this tweet too.
(ohh!fuck I cant attach multiple images here, I should have created Medium post, fuck it!)
"They" continue, quoting from the tweet.
1)"....bias in society is reflected in AI"
2) "However, I do think it is our responsibility as designers/developers/users to be aware of this bias and do our best to correct it."
I want to rant about 2nd one. Some of you may not like it including grammar naziz!
As a developer/programmer I take 2nd one personally! I am currently at denial phase though!
And I have an OCD so gonna make points here!
1) Seriously tell me please, how the fuck you can write gender bias algorithm which can pass a big crazy amount of test suite?
2) Google has done many things for last decade to overcome gender gap related issues. I have met some of the nicest people from Google, and this is really hard for me to believe that google AI or that team has anything to do with the results!
3) Someone suggests use "they" in google translated result, can you fucking imagine how wrong that would be??? If I am developer working on that algo or even in that team and I see this ticket in jira with highest priority where it says, "make all translated results gender neutral using only they" - I would fucking like to die and may be in my next life ask me to do that, when I am a toddler!
4) I am an advocate for equal pay, equal rights and equal opportunities for everyone to "minify" this gender gap in tech, but showing google translate results of a gender natural language to make a point is wrong, it is simply undermining the efforts of something really helpful thing.
5) Moving on to the core point - What can be done to lower down the gender gap? I have seen amazing women who can code/manage far far far better than what I ever could imagine, and they are at really good place and deserve to be there. Are they doing enough to inspire other women to join tech industry?
Collective efforts are very much required. And need to keep in consideration that tech industry is highly competitive roles are also changing rapidly.
6) Many big companies have women at higher positions(CEO, CFO,....) what are their efforts to bring more women in tech industry?
(Some of you may not like this, as this is implying that it isn't only men's job. )
7) Going slightly political here, everyday we see really disappointing news related to women and their rights and health, I strongly believe women don't have to ask for or even have to mention about "equal rights" about anything. Everyone is equal!!!
This is 2017 and still fucked up!
Thats all for today! Heading for breakfast!24
Plus size model commercials of fat women wandering around in their underwear is really cutting into my concentration and frightening me about the future of our species.70
STUPID PIECE OF SHIT. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MY ASS! random() IS MORE RELIABLE THAN YOU!
I rarely go outside, but whenever i do so from my grandparents you must disappoint me. Literally the least crowded streets in this city and you nail it to arrive 20min. to late. I could have walked to street with the lightly dressed women and get some real service in the meantime.
Sincerely, the guy who will be to late to celebrate his own birthday with his friends3
I love to program — I discovered that about myself a few years ago. Beforehand, I only KNEW how to program. But then I discovered the power programming gives you to create things, and even help your surroundings. So now, I can surely say, that I love programming. Heck, I am even dating a very talented programmer.
But despite all the pleasure I derive from it, I feel lonely sometimes. True, there are millions of programmers all over the world. I also know I am not the only one who prefers coding over going to the movies, taking a walk, eating or sleeping.
Why do I feel this way?
My loneliness is a gendered loneliness, as there are not many women in my field. For sure, there are women who study computer science in high school or at the university, and some even work as programmers. But they are very, very few!
I often underestimate my abilities and feel intimated for no apparent reason
Introducing the unified standard of quality measurement.
is a new standard coming from code reviews, which also applies to movies, porn, women, ....
what's your opinion ?2
At the age of 50 I have learned what FICA is.
FInancial Customer Account
It'a a SAP module but I suppose It was the name of a Penthouse department.
FICA in Italian are female genitals, "recupero" is retrieve.
It sounds like "pussy retrieve".
This document was made by a staff of 4 men and 4 women.1
Typical experience on devRant: I posted a tongue-in-cheek rant about something that I could easily fix if only I really wanted to, and I received unrequested advice after 5 seconds 😂
Then I realized that this is probably what women experience on Twitter all the time 🤔12
Carving wood is more interesting than engaging in meaningless conversations with selfish women and drinking wine.17
My mate just walked out in shorts and a really short top. Damn she's drop dead gorgeous. Wish I wasn't so fucking awkward :/18
Tomorrow, we will have a new fenale co-worker.
This is awesome, because in IT is very rare to find women. It seems that this field is dominated by man.
And that brings the problem. In our enterprise, we are all men. We worst kind of men. Saying that we are "a bunch of animals in a tiny room" would be more like a compliment.
I already feel sorry for her. :/6
Starting my first real dev position Monday. Scared about using a windows computer for dev for the first time but stoked.
My rant is against myself that I didn't switch jobs earlier.6
Damn, I really love programming. ❤️
It's way more uplifting and satisfactory than having a significant other.
Even my botched WP installs are more stable than most pseudo-longterm relationships nowadays.
Oh yeah and another thing:
How is it so extremely hard or even impossible for a lot of women to admit their own fucking wrongdoings to a close person?
I came up with what I considered to be a brilliant approach to a festering internal knowledge management problem using a third-party SaaS. I rolled it out and it was very popular. Weeks later, after my profile had become the "linchpin" by which hundreds of other employees had joined the service, I was told that a female employee (yes, gender is important to this story) had produced a proposal for a more in-house solution that used a different company's software and that I would be on the team to roll it out. I thought it was a great idea and I deferred to her on pretty much everything.
Months after that I was accused, by several other female managers, of trying to take over the whole leadership of the project just because of one minor suggestion I had proposed. One day, after a lengthy interrogation about their take on my emails on the matter (lacking only the bright, hot spotlight in my eyes) I was booted off the project and the woman who had proposed the project was promoted. She then proceeded to lord it over on me and treat me like crap.
This type of thing was a general pattern within the company that amounted to a form of a reverse discrimination "policy" (unwritten). The effect was that the ratio of men to women in upper management was not equal but completely flipped. Way more women than men had upper management positions and higher pay.
In their eyes, the ends (women broke through the glass ceiling) justified the means (discrimination and bullying) which I guess is good and "equal", again in their eyes, in terms of the overall perception modern feminism has about men needing a comeuppance.
But in the context of HR's stated policy on equality, meaning 1:1 men and women in position of power and pay and a non-threatening work environment for all, which we all (men and women) were forced to sign every year, it was an utter fail as far as the math and intimidation went.2
My friend alfred who is a C# programmer, has got a threatening letter from some feminists. Apparently he's treating women as "objects" recently. :/3
Anyone else feel this 50/50 male/female work melarky is just silly. Most programmers are men. It shouldn't be more complex then that. Most beautitions are women. Nothing wrong with work being gender dominated... imo20
Anybody watches starcraft2 games??? You see Scarlett destroy SoS?
She should be in my daughters women role models. She just destroyed the best player in the world.
We need more chick gamers!!!!19
I would like to proclaim my utmost love and respect to a programming language and one of its framework.
This language/framework combo was so beautiful that during development I had fantasies about it coming to life as the women I want to marry. I genuinely felt love in my heart to her. I even felt butterflies in my stomach thinking about her!
But I'm worried I might jinx it. So I'm not gonna name it.
I love you.8
More like 'relationship' rant.
The following is gonna be kinda crude and not work appropriate just fyi.
First, whats with this trend of 'shave your pussy", and small tits? Shit just a few years ago it was the opposite! Who wants to fuck a women who looks like an undeveloped boy. Give me a good medium pair of knockers and a (slightly) hairy pussy anyday and I'm in heaven.
On that note, all these guys whining and fucking whinging about "fat" women. Like I'm not chasing deathfat women or anything, but come on dudes. If you're gonna demand 'thin beautiful women' put in the fucking work! Just saying it now. Kinda pudgy, not a deal breaker for me. She have a pretty face, looks good in make up? Fuck it, I'll give her the time of day. Don't come at me with "hurrr...fat is unhealthy! Wheres your standards?"
Wheres YOUR fucking standards? Shit, I could take a 'heavy' girl and in a few months time have her trim. Its about the WORK you put in. All these fucking guys, all these fucking guys man, they all want something for nothing and chicks for free. No one wants to put in the fucking EFFORT anymore. I can't name on one hand the number of 'fat ugly chicks' everyone ignored from school (well except for me), who are now bombshells. If I stayed connected with people maybe I'd be with one of em right now, but I just get tired of this attitude that no one invests any time in others any more. It's all about 'me me me'.
Shes fat, maybe only a few extra pounds? Fat and 'not beautiful'? Fucking DO THE WORK and make her beautiful you bitch! Be her coach, like those fucking instagram couples you see sweating it out. Make her sexy. Become sexy, together.
Get her a fucking treadmill. Get her two. And jog together. Make her *feel* sexy.
More importantly get to *know* her. Why does she get out of bed in the morning? What drive her NOT to get out of bed? When does she feel lousy? What makes her feel that way? In addition to all the other shit men should know how to do, you should learn to play doctor phil, because every girl needs one. Women bond by talking, men bond by doing things together. Relationships should involve both.
Jesus fucking christ, this is basic bitch advice, and it annoys me I keep on coming across these spergs that don't fucking get it. Women are not cars you can stick your key in and just go 'vroom'.
They require maintenance, same as anything, any 'relationship' (because really, what are relationships in 2020, with instagram and fucking tinder and antisocial distancing?). You're a *team*, and i don't mean that in an inspirational way. You're a literal team. And far too many people prioritize the well being and success and concern of 'I' over' 'us'.
In short, if she ain't coming, you shouldn't be either. And if you expect her to on-the-regular put sharp objects on her fucking nether regions, don't expect any blowjobs unless you're doing the same thing for yourself!
Ideally you should be doing it to each other.
After all, you're partners. You trust her to put sharp objects near your groin, right?
Aren't relationships supposed to be about mutual trust?30
I'm confused. How'd we go from contributors like Ada Lovelace, Grace Hopper and Margret Hamilton, to: WE NEED MORE WOMEN IN TECH, WE NEED MORE WOMEN IN TECH!!!10
I never got the notion of "men don't like smart women", it's not a stereotype that I see in real life too much.
And I kinda think the opposite way, like yes honey please go on about mathematical topics I don't know a thing about <333
Comp Science teacher - “What is an object?”
Kid sitting next to me - “Women”
That was nice considering I am one...9
anyone who says women gossip don't pay enough attention to guys, specially when they talk about women. what is it to me that you don't think x girl dresses well or that this aspect of her is unattractive? we're at work, it's not tinder39
Where are my fellow ladies at?
How do you battle imposter syndrome in the classroom or workplace?10
Has any of the women in here dealt with "too politically correct" in the office that it's awkward? My boss refuses to just say guys even though I told him I feel singled out when he adds "gal". Or that I can't be better at social skills bc that tends to be stressed more if you're a female; nope i need to find a different reason now. Or telling me how I need to be involved in women's rights movements, those women are actually doing something to make a difference. I mean I'm glad that he's trying to fight for equality, and I know it can be so much worse, but I feel like I'm being corrected on how I should be as a female. Any suggestions? Or am I just being sensitive?9
Languages as women in your life
1) Python's the Girl Friend
2) Java is the Wife/Long term Partner
3) JS is just on Acid. I don't fuck with her..
C++ is for Wifey for the ones with OCDs
P.S : I know how OCDs get. My heart goes out to these people. This is just some frivolous fun17
Now that I am on vacation I realise that there was a period of 3 months this year in which I didn't talk to any female at all except for my mom and sister, just because there are almosy no girls that study software engineering... What the fuck is happening here? Could we please make SE more attractive for women? Its not just that I would like to flirt with women, I think that having women around would improve a great deal of things. For instance, I think that a group dynamic is a lot better if the group contains women.
How do you think we can make software development more appealing to women?6
Move over, James Damore. You have a new ally. And, she’s a woman.
Microsoft engineer complains that company is biased against white men
Internal memo suggests that women don't think the right way to be engineers.
I called it TextPaste, or was it VidPaste 🤔. Anyways, it was an attempt to promote my laziness in copying code from YouTube videos or images by using text recognition. I called my coding style "Lazy Art," 😂. It was completed....sorta. I mean, it worked sometimes....5
I'm stuck in another country because of coronavirus, living in my mother in law's house, which is a church.
this church has two levels. while we are in the higher level, the lower level is being rented to some women that I hadn't seen since I've been here.
there is a library at the lower level next to their rooms and I'm using it to work because I can't focus with all the chatter in the upper level.
second day of work and 2 hours into coding, I get my balls held onto my legs. Trust me, I had just taken a proper shower, and I don't sweat a lot, it's just my balls being balls.
Naturally I try to separate said balls from my legs with my balls. Guess who the fuck I see passing through. One of these women.
Jesus fucking christ. What a good first fucking impression. Me with my hand in my fucking crotch.2
Q: "Babe, what's wrong?"
Women: "Nothing, its just fine"
Compilers: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"6
Most difficult part is to work with company where all senior admins are from sales. They never f*cking idea about developers problems.
Just give time to end user customer before 3 month schedule. and now thinking, we can do 3 months working in 4 days.
The sales people think nine women can deliver a baby in just One month. just pushing me to hire new developers.4
The CS instructor who was (maybe an adjunct?) who no matter what homework we turned in gave us randomly different grades. We actually all handed in the same hw one time to see what would happen (only changing variable names and such), and confirmed it. Also, he used to call me J-Lo when I'd raise my hand to answer questions. (I was fit and am Latina) The second time he did it, I sternly corrected him in front of the whole class. He stopped after that. And yes he was gone from the school soon after!5
Don’t be evil.
“Stapleton said she was demoted and told to take medical leave, even though she wasn’t ill. Meredith Whittaker, an artificial intelligence researcher, said she was reassigned and told to stop her well-known research on AI ethics. Both women detailed their experiences in an email to coworkers in April, which was then shared with journalists at Wired and published.”
as most of you are aware of my internet issue (still not working), I came to know an amazing thing.
"there are many wonderful women live in my building. some are beautiful, some are tired, some are puzzled, some are young, some are old, some are sad...."
I didnt knew this untill I got disconnected.2
I have an emotional conflict again.
I fucking WANT to squish a soft and warm chubby girl right now.
But I fucking FEAR women.16
Once I went for this women-centric hackathon that had to have at least one female member in the team. On winning, one of the other winning (male) devs commented on how I was probably there just to complete the team even when I did most of the work.
Don't know if it's the fact that I have green hair or the fact that I'm a girl.2
Is it just me or is Java really uninspiring as a language? And are there any Java build tools that don't sound like 90-year-old women? Maven, Gradle...3
i'm just going to let myself rant here !!!! arghhhhhh why do i have to be one of those people that is pretty smart and good programmer but not under interview pressure when theres other stuck up lazy devs that do amazing in interviews and end up with higher salary while doing a worse job than u(slower)!!! arghhhhhhgggg8
I don't know why these days random Indian women kept calling me regarding job opportunity in Google.11
real story. In high school, a librarian (women) recommended me a book. I read it in classroom, it was fine for the first half and then.... the real story began.
It was 50 shades of grey.
It's been about 4 years. I'll soon be completing bachelors. And I've yet to return the book, out of shyness.9
You know what's funny?
Gender bias at work is usually AGAINST MALES, like seriously I had a great year in my new job and I'm happy about it, but end up finding out that the boss awarded only females in our team😒
If society should stop treating women like objects well how about treating men like human beings?
There was weeks where I saved the bosse's ass and worked for over 60 HOURS and still nothing.39
I don't think it's special to understand or create a complex and difficult algorithm (to a certain degree).
But I have respect for those (male) devs, who understand women/girls.
First day of first dev job complete. Already in love with my team. But why didn't anyone tell me about Emmet before now???5
I feel really uncomfortable about this question. The assumption seems way out of proportion😢 20% women killed by their husbands, and I'm answering this question while don't even have a girlfriend20
>be me a tech nerd
>see sexy women
>try to engage in conversation but only make werid gurgling noises
>never live it down3
I wonder if there is a Galaxy where at the fashion Show instead of women there are just Code parts walking on the catwalk and it is a Contest which Code is the most beautiful .. Lol1
Respect to all women in CS. They are in fact better when it comes to clean code and concept.
Prof. Kamala Krithivasan, is teaching some hardest shit in CS.
With just 5.8 percent women on SO, I wonder what the gender ratio in here, so my own survey - ++ if a guy, comment if a girl ;)5
You have two extremes in Australia - latte sipping brunch eating do gooders who live in white suburbs but ardently support multiculturalism (as long the extent of it is only trying new italian coffee or weekend bellydancing classes) or living with white trash where women act like men and men act like animals.
There is no in between43
I'd really wish girls/women knew how fucking annoying it is when they are speaking loudly with each other at the company toilets, and stays there for 5-10 minutes to discuss what they did this weekend.
There are only two things I want/need to poop: SILENCE! and my phone.
I don't need the feeling of sitting in the middle of a Starbucks while taking a shit.
(Disclaimer: Don't think am being racist or anti feminist, i am currently studying about industrial revolutions and trade unions, nd this thought came to my mind )
We went from the time where women were forced to work in industries, to the time where women were forced to stay at home, to the time when women are willing to work in the industry.8
do you know: victoria's secret higher ranking executive from scranton, pa was a lesbian who humped women prostitutes and since has been replaced by one of your pod people.
but the song from this time period about victoria's secret, is kind of funny, since one of the higher level executives was a woman and apparently enjoyed young women in lingerie as much as men do :P4
When I was literally sat down by two women VPs old enough to be my mom in an actual corner of a room like I was a child and accused of messing up a project when what really happened was the project manager saw me as a threat to her upward mobility and made up stuff about me. That went on for 2 solid hours. All that was missing was the bright lamp and the threat of no dinner before bedtime.2
I suggest my company interns to follow WWC (women who code) community. After sometime I saw, some people started following that. I just felt happy for them. 😊
Taught me just because something looks right it doesn't mean it is right. Ex: memory leaks, connection strings, 32 length passwords, and good looking women. Oh wait that last one could be a rant by itself cause you can't find a good looking woman that isn't crazy and won't wake you up if you do manage to get to bed1
Old but gold.
"Project manager is a Person who thinks nine women can deliver a baby in One month."
"Client is the one who doesn't know why he wants a baby."
All those code-ish new year celebrations in this community are cringy. This is why women dont find you attractive.18
I hadn’t seen this interview until now. I was low-key discriminated against at a job, because of my gender, by a hierarchy full of women, and eventually let go. And I wasn’t the only one. This crap just makes me angry. It’s why I always want to be independent and not be directly employed by corporations anymore. https://youtu.be/6NOSD0XK0r84
I just realized my male brain is horrible at multithreading. ++ to all womens and their amazing algorithms and capabilities 😘9
ughh here i am with an opportunity for a job (in london) and got given 3 programming tasks and my mum is surely praying so i wont get it ,i hear screamingin my head 'Nooooo!' when trying to even think about this third task , ive already done 2 ,
i really need to stop telling her about these london jobs she's witching them away , but what can ya do when i applied to more jobs here and some in manc yet i get through in londan 🤷🏼♀️1
Capcom's Strider. The sign in russian under the star says this:
Women, software engineers make good boyfriends.
We're not scared of committing. We do it everyday at work. :P16
Why write tests for frontend when I can clearly see it works......I mean, c'mon, the like button is incrementing....this button doesn't like been tested (T-T)10
I want to work on my project (well it's just a copy of another website) so bad, but it's the exam period. Mendokusē4
Something I can never ask in real life or in the workplace but curious to know wether women have a ‘wank bank’ or is it exclusively a male thing. Oh and Wordpress is total shite.2
Although I can agree with a lot of things in this article, they say things like "geeky references and a competitive environment" prevent women from entering tech.
Common, of course theres gonna be competition, and women are totally capable of beating it. About geeky references, this is the field that makes most geeky references, women included2
Check this out: the company that times its Web searches in milliseconds can't retrieve a bunch of rows from their internal database... GTFO.

My current organization conducts world wide special recruitment drives for women who have taken a break in their careers and who are willing to start again! And recruitment will be specifically for tech positions.
Isn't that great! I think, this should be followed by each and every organizations out there.8
Sometimes I think, "can't I just do some quick SQL work to change the form requirements?" And then I remember, "oh wait, women don't work that way."
A device that makes women understand that we cannot focus on them all the fucking time, therefore, making them understand that if we can't does not mean we don't care...3
I was called on a review meeting on why the task took so much time and why my performance is going down.
I clearly stated that I was not managed well and I had lot of dependencies in presence of my reporting manager. She didn't look happy. Now I'm kind of worried that she could act weirdly as women are also emotional beings taking everything to the heart.5
It's great to know that there's really THAT much room for improvement.
I think we might actually need WOMEN around here...2
entrepreneurship is kinda what i wanna do especially with women in tech i really really want that but still behind on what the purpose of it would be
Might get on the hormone blockers and see if any Women in Tech programmes will save me from job hunting hell.8
I don't really understand the thing about ALIMONY. I mean, if a couple gets divorced, how come only men have to pay & women can demand as much as they want?11
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity
40,000 men and women everyday
Another 40,000 coming everyday
We can be like they are, come on, baby
Don't fear the Reaper, baby, take my hand
Don't fear the Reaper, we'll be able to fly
Don't fear the Reaper, baby, I'm your man2
Mansplaining stories are my favorite thing on the internet right now tbh
Anyone got any good ones?7
I was talking to someone recently who organizes a conference and told me that some people complained that the speaker list wasn't diverse enough because he had only 2 women and no racial minorities. Apparently the numerous Asian (Indian and Oriental don't count), nor the the organizer who is in a minority. Only African (specifically black) counts a d's minority nowadays. We now have a world with I finite gender identities and only 2 races. 😰5
I wish all women looked like Skyler wright. Also fuck all people named Tori how peculiar times two24
Hilarious. I've got an on-site interview tomorrow. My schedule has a list of long meetings with men with titles and... 15 minutes of girl time, with two women who's job title isn't included? I have NO IDEA what to make of this!4
I think some love might help my career. When I sleep on a bug, all I do is dream about the girl I don't have and when I wake up the bug is fixed
How come am I doing better at getting women to getting web contract to keep the money flow.
And why the fuck do every fucker I meet "want to date me."1
“Halloween is the beginning of the holiday shopping season. That’s for women. The beginning of the holiday shopping season for men is Christmas Eve.”

Today is the official Kiki Day — a whole year passed since I discovered that a human is three separate coexisting entities that are physically divided by brain layers (they're three of them), so
1. my seven years old search for a perfect ideology had no sense whatsoever
2. when your feelings contradict each other, you may give two separate answers: one from neocortex (e.g. what you call "yourself") and one from the second layer (e.g. "emotional response")
If you for example dislike women but happen to be in a position that implies hiring people, say "even though I don't feel emotionally comfortable around women, they are equal to myself, so my emotions shouldn't influence my rational decisions".
To some extent, this very mindset is what I can call "kiki".6
Guy regularly comes off as woke in his shows. Been getting worse over time and it started really rubbing me the wrong way.
And in typical woke fashion, still has ass backwards stereotypes on women.2
Gals in devRant, are there some ways woman expresses her friendliness towards man when she is not necessarily attracted to him? When is she attracted and when she is not?4
Besides my wife accusing me of talking to other women, nope. But that's probably a result of a quote from a movie that i feel is true "I'm married to my work, my wife is my mistress, that way I'll love her forever"1
Pale pretty long haired Asian women will always be like cats to me. Pretty kitties I want to nuzzle and pet and cuddle because they are so cute 😁
Apparently I've never interacted with shrill bitchy nagging ones. Thank God for small miracles.8
Can we please use a goddamn gym and relax and keep our stuff and be given a reason to be alive again ? Jesus
Like even just saying “these women here are working and have been forbidden what the rest get”‘would be a start
Sex is lifeblood and youth extension when it’s fulfilling with many and paired with healthy situations22
Linux seems to be single man because whenever I enter women in terminal it says "women not found" and when I ask
He answers my question. :D
I really want to go on some blind dates & meet some new, beautiful & amazing women. but in my country, blind dates so rare :(
I wish, I lived in South Korea10
Recently learnt about machine learning and it's applications. First thing that comes to my mind "how often do women buy lingerie from supermarkets?"
I have hoed around in different technologies during my university life, Web dev, game dev, cybersecurity (even got a CEH certificate, the training wasn't adequate tho and it's an expensive field needing all those certs), tried blockchain, machine learning but at the end, I haven't gotten anything done. No big projects.... well, apart from a miniproject that extracts text from videos, doesn't work half the time (T-T), No internships...no experience, nothing. I was really, reaaally dumb xD
Now, in my 4th and final year of university , I have decided to settle on Web development (MERN) with game dev on the side (leisure activities), but I need advice.
Before deciding my path, I enrolled in the year-long ALX Software Engineering course. I'm in my 6th month. It promises access to The Room, where they say job opportunities that aren't shared publicly exist. Problem with the course, tho, is they rush, and I don't get time to consolidate what I learn in the course. I feel like i am not gaining anything (first few months were cool). I am on the verge of giving up cos I found solace in FullStackOpen. It teaches MERN, is self-paced, and ergo gives me time to build my portfolio and has a nice community. I know what to do (quit and focus on my portfolio and projects cos my CV is crap ), but advice from you all could really help. Thanks in advance seniors, this little brother appreciates it.
right this second i think to myself, my god how nice it would be to just lay down on a nice soft bed, with about a dozen young women not expecting payment after a sumptuous meal and some good whiskey and not worry about any of this fucked up shit i can't change.6
Just spoke to a Barclay card women to ask something about their gateway 😒
She didn't know about there own systems capabilities
If it couldn't do monthly billing it would be a terrible system! At least light years behind such systems as PayPal who are already behind.2
