Had to program a microprocessor to count a pendulum swing, turns out that the only sensor I had for this wasn't working, implemented a function that simulated the swing and presented the projecto in less than 5 minutes so the teacher wouldn't notice5

I have a habit of leaving random TODOs in random files of projects I work on. Then, when I come back to work on the projects I display a list of all TODOs and try to implement them only to find out that I already implemented everything and forgot to delete the TODOs, on the positive side I feel like I accomplished a lot without actually doing anything 😂😂😂

Today I implemented a system for storing all errors in a global store in Vue. That means field validation errors, API errors and potential generic errors. It works really well, and displaying an error is as simple as referencing it's source, if any. Flexibility at its finest.

i started a project a couple months ago and i used ORM for the queries, cause it's already implemented. thing is, this project came directly from hell and the math is stupid af. it requires subqueries in subqueries and the data that was provided is trash. Boss wanted our AES implemented to use an Initialization Vector. I changed the implementation to add an IV and all the tests passed on the first try!
I changed the implementation to fail just to make sure I wasn't getting false positives. -

The client has been working with MySQL his whole life, wants me to make a front end for a site but insists on making what he calls the backend in my terms the database himself. So he wants the ability to drop and add rows, tables from the database itself somehow implemented, any ideas?6

But to be more specific a username on a login form instead of an email address when it already had ratelimiting lockouts implemented on an internal network. -
A colleague blocked a full big refactoring to go live just because there were missing marker interface which they wanted to be implemented by any other interface which was actually part of the core functionality. A marker interface...a marker interface...

currently ive get ecb 256 bit already implemented and working well, but i want an extra layer of privacy. if you had to send your ssn or credit card number over a vulnerable network, would you be more comfortable encrypting it with cbc or gcm?9 -

So far, the largest hurdle for myself is realising that most people don't understand the struggle sometimes towards getting a feature implemented, or a bug squashed. In the end, it's all about the end product.

One of the most frustrating things I have come across in PowerShell is non properly implemented ErrorAction methods in Microsoft maintained modules.
When you are attempting to write a quick script with simple yet proper error handling and Microsoft fumbles the ball at the 1 yard line!

Everything was good. We were a very sophisticated agile team. We knew our work very well and we were proud of it. Every new feature was implemented in matters of hours. Everyone happy. I was tasked to implement SSO. I was quite terrified, because I am working on legacy project where everything is implemented poorly. After series of question I finally found out that client's image of sso is just connecting to another db to validate against user table. I felt relieved :D

Upgraded the company operations system system from AIX to Red Hat EL with near zero issues and no business interruptions. Platform and OS all in one. Been trying to repeat that with. NET 4 years into it and only 30% done with nothing but problems until we implemented CI & CD.6

When I implemented a supplier's library, I noticed my app froze every time I called that library. I then asked the suppliers if they were doing any heavy stuff on the main thread and they told me they weren't.
Luckily, they were "right", StrictMode told me they were only dumping a whole log file... -

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 330s and it shows the battery percentage remaining when we press any key on the keyboard while the laptop is switched off. This is a really handy feature. Does anyone know how it is implemented or how could it be implemented (on other laptops) ?

I just ended up making a program that shows news depending on the user's current emotions.
I implemented OpenCV and CK+ dataset to make this possible. Also, Feedparser for getting news. Now looking into PyQt for making all of this into a GUI app.
So happy that all of this was completed within a week and without much hitches. -
The time I implemented a variable timer in my game on NodeJS. I noticed it would not always run at 60 fps depending on the machine. I implemented a check to see if the fps is above or below 60. If the fps was above I added more time between each run, if it was lower I shortened the time(to a limit). Sure it is a bit hacky but it worked well. As an added bonus the check runs every loop so even if another program is started and slows down the machine, the game can speed back up to 60 fps.3

I had implemented an interval that was added when the viewport was active, and removed when inactive. This was to lessen the amount of ajax requests being done.
Though the little radio player was embedded at places, and thus the pictures didn't change at times.
I had to remove the inactivation of that interval. -

imagine they don't implement exactly what you tell them / implement rules for you that you did not ask for
also imagine it is crucial that you have a reliable source of information about what firewall rules are and are not implemented for your application, because the firewall-guys cant simply check and tell you what rules are implemented for your application
